This place is an absolutely perfect spot for brunch. I came with 8 friends or so around 2 pm for brunch and there was about a 40 minute wait. The restaurant isn't huge and we didn't make a reservation so it was no big deal for us - if you have a big party try to make a reservation or come earlier in the day. The menu is filled with both healthy and indulgent options. All the meals come with a ton of food! I ordered the Passion smoothie and the prosciutto eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was absolutely delicious- they accidentally cooked my eggs hard (my friend ordered hers hard), but they quickly rectified it and offered to replace the entire meal, the food was delicious so I just asked for two more runny eggs. The smoothies were also absolutely amazing, very fresh, and not super sweet. The waiters are also incredibly nice, patient, and welcoming. They deserve praise for dealing with our large party. Overall, fantastic meal and restaurant - I will be back for sure. read more

As the privilege to travel to foreign countries again presents itself, I have been looking back at past travels.] Recently, my fiancée and I were talking about our favorite breakfast spots, both local and abroad. El Arbol was in our top five. We found El Arbol after walking to a few of the popular brunch spots and finding that the waitlists were fairly long. El Arbol, on the other hand, did not have a waitlist at all. We were seated and promptly served. The decor is certainly L.A.-hipster/hippie friendly, which made me a little concerned that the menu might be entirely vegan or plant-based. Luckily, the menu was chock full of options for consuming jamón ibérico, eggs, and coffee, which is really all we were looking for. Hipster Delight My AirBnB host suggested this place for brunch, so I thought I'd try it the morning of my flight back home. The little assortment of luggage at the entrance told me others thought to do the same thing. I opted for the cozy couch and sipped on a morning mimosa before diving into my delicious prosciutto & avocado toast. The setting is laid back and funky with suspended chairs and communal tables, with hipster touches of rope, hanging plants, and distressed woods. I liked this better than Brunch & Cake. Props to underrated brunch spots. Perfect for groups, as you don't have to split the bill in odd ways. Just pay at the register after you're done with brunch. This place was a true gem. We had tried to go to the busy spot around the corner - not wanting to wait in that line we stumbled upon this place. Very inviting. It was packed. Great brunch menu. Fantastic coffee - we had coconut lattes, americanos - all of the goodies. I had the egg benedict and it was delicious. A friend had the avocado toast and shared with me - heavenly. This place is small and unassuming, but the food is insanely good! I started out with the Lovely Toast, I honestly wasn't expecting much, but wow! I thought about it everyday when I woke up! Toast, with feta, fruit, and honey! I also ordered the Ensalata Roble that was equally amazing and huge! No human being needs to order 2 things here. A great place! read more

English speakers/travelers-- do NOT trust yelp in Barcelona... this is the second place that ranked high in review that had terrible food! The coffee was excellent, but the Eggs Benedict? Awful-- the bread is plain, untoasted, soggy, and flavorless. The hollandaise, also flavorless, and how they made the egg sit in your mouth like a depressed shut-in is beyond me. This was my sister and I's first stop after flying in from Texas. Everything from the energy of the employee's, to the setting and properly placed dishes was amazing. The waiter we had was so kind and helpful with the menu and spoke perfect English. He also gave us great advice about how to get around Barcelona and how to get to La Rambla street. When you have stood in the queue for Brunch and Cake for half an hour and had to watch those seated smuggly eating nice looking food with no hope of you getting there anytime soon, throw down the menu and shout "I will queue no longer". Then walk about 60s around the corner to be seated quickly and get an equally appetising combination of breakfast/brunch/lunch. We had the salmon toast (a big thumbs up ), the pancakes and the granola. All served quickly, with a smile so that a family of 5 could get back to arguing about where to spend the day and how many Gaudi lizard souvenirs were TOO many. Really badly managed the day we came. They seemed to be short a person. Food was sitting in the window, getting cold, but I made a gamble with my order and so my eggs Benedict came out stone cold. I never complain, but I didn't want to eat a cold raw egg yolk. The replacement was much better and piled high with jamón ibérico, but the Hollandaise was a bit powdery. As a note to the management: the jamón makes the egg cool quickly, so it needs to get out quick! My wife had the Nest/Nido (avocado toast with poached egg). The egg was cold, the toast was not great and the mashed avocado was pretty tasteless. Would not recommend. Coffee was ok, but not good enough for a trip here just for that, smoothies were good. Really cozy little brunch joint with a delicious variety of food. I had the peanut butter toast with bananas, berries, honey and coconut flakes, which was all really nice! The pancakes had a lot of delicious toppings but by them selves lacked a bit of "moist". But as i said, the really well put together toppings mads up for it. We found El Arbol Brunch during our walk to the Picasso Museum and were impressed with their menu. They have a wonderful display of all their desserts next to their coffee bar. The wait time was minimal, and the menu had a variety of options. We started with the chips and guacamole, and we each order the Lox Bagel, Jamón Sandwich, and a spring mix salad. The food was wonderful, the coffee and mimosas were amazing, and the staff was attentive and accommodating. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Loved this cute place. It wasn't on our radar until we walked by it one evening (it was close to where we were staying), and we noticed it was full and seemed very popular. We decided to go back the next day for brunch. The decor is charming and makes the experience memorable. Food was great and big portions. My friend and I stayed in Barcelona for a week and this was definitely one of my favorite places to eat! I got the banana toast with PB, chocolate and coconut and it was was unreal. Best thing on the menu in my opinion. My friend got the eggs Benedict and that was also very tasty. The service was a little slow because there was only one guy serving AND seating people and then one guy in the kitchen, so that could have been improved. This place was recommended to us from our airBnB so for our last day here we decided to have brunch here. At 10:45am we sat down and ordered. Fifteen minutes had passed and not even our drinks were brought over. When we asked our waiter about our order, it seems they simply forgot! This was ridiculous as we saw other patrons who had arrived after us get their food first(with one table having the same amount of guests as ours!) This is simply unacceptable for a place that was not even that busy. The people who sat next to us sat 15 minutes after us and they had their drinks and food already served to them. I love Barcelona and its people. I do not love this place and its service. I am not sure if it was because we were foreign (American), or didn't meet their standards, but the waiter kept us waiting for what seemed like forever. He did not acknowledge us and did not take our order. He only took the orders of the patrons coming in immediately after us. After seeing the second and third party walking in and getting service, the message was resoundingly clear, so we walked out. Thankfully no business was provided to this establishment. read more
