The ambience of the restaurant was great, and the paella was good-not amazing for 2 foodies on the hunt for really great food We ordered the paella and were significantly upsold on upgrading the seafood. The seafood was tasty but sparse and really cant say it left wither of us feeling fulfilled in our search. The restaurant was on the beach, and we were seated with a view of the water. Our chairs were very close to another table and we had to adjust our seating to sit comfortably, another couple came with their young daughter and sat behind us, and the lady was trying to fit her daughter's scooter behind my chair and kept bumping me, unapologetically. The daughter later showed up at our table just hanging out, the waiter had to direct her back to her own table, as the parents were oblivious. Our waiter was fine, however after placing our order, he went and got someone else who brought out a live seafood tray with an array of fish, lobster and prawns and totally changed our order. We were very confused. We thought only the paella dishes were for two people, but he said all the dishes were for two people. Even though I clearly saw someone dining alone. If we were in the states, we would have left, but we were trying to be polite and make the best of it. So we ordered what he recommended, even though I felt like we were bullied into it. He brought out prawns and mussels, which I don't even like mussels, too tough. The prawns were pretty good. Next was peppers and French fries, which we did not order. We had ordered the bread that was served to the next table, as they said they had not ordered it, that they ordered peppers and French fries, another person who delivered our food insisted that it was right. One thing we did order was the Cava Sangria, which was suppose to be made with sparkling wine, but it was not. They did not sell by the glass, they said you had to buy it by the pitcher. We had no problem finishing the pitcher after this experience. They brought out lobster next, which was overcooked and very rubbery, no seasoning at all, I ended up dipping in the mussels wine sauce to get some flavor. Also, had my husband's half of the lobster tail as he was done with the place, and just munched on the fries. At this point a beggar came up to our table from the beach begging in Spanish and was very persistent, but I couldn't understand what she was asking. The waiter eventually came over and asked her not to bother us. It was very awkward. As we were dining on this €300+ meal alone. My husband had ordered the Catalan Creme for dessert and that was the highlight of the whole meal, besides the conversation and company. We will not be back and would not recommend. Their "market seafood" paella came with two prawns and six clams and they quoted almost 100€. I attached the receipt because I honestly couldn't believe it!!! This is for TWO people... I ended up getting the Senyoret rice, which they described as having "socarrat", that had "crispy bottom". As you can see in the photo, it was nowhere near crispy. For two people it came out to 52€, and it just wasn't worth it. The fish was overcooked, too. The cocktails had barely any alcohol, which was disappointing. We switched to a bottle of wine. One waiter was pretty dismissive and didn't bother giving any recommendations. Another server from Argentina was actually very kind and helpful. We came here to celebrate my birthday and I read that this place is know for paella. Location is great! Just right off the beach. It Spain wasn't going through a heatwave it would've been amazing weather. They are meant to tell you about the fresh catch of the day but sadly we didn't get to hear about it. Also the paella is served with a wooden spoon. It's supposed to taste better with it. 3/5 Tuna - was just ok. 3/5 Paella - it was quite salty. Wonderful staff right above the beach. Great everything. Landed here by accident and had a wonderful time. Met a young couple from UK. A wedding dress business owner and her husband a civil engineer. We stayed in Barcelona at the Hotel Arts and wanted a place close to the hotel for our first night in Barcelona after a long international flight in. Our hotel concierge recommended Can Fisher and I'm glad they did! The hotel concierge made reservations for us about a month or so in advance and we arrived about 5-10 minutes prior to our dinner reservation and were seated promptly and were greeted warmly by the host. Our server came by a few minutes later after we were seated and offered to answer any questions we had on the menu. He was very nice, and we had several other servers wait on us as well that were also all very nice. We ordered the liter of red sangria to start for 23 euros, and it was very good! For an appetizer, we started with the Catalan bread for 3 euros, along with the Iberian ham for 19 euros. We also ordered a few croquettes for a few euros each. All of the starters were absolutely amazing! For our entree, we ordered the Chicken Paella for 23 euros a person. The paella was a large portion served in a skillet and was plenty big for two people to share. The paella was absolutely the best paella I have ever tasted and was extremely flavorful! The bread was warm and crusty, and the aioli was creamy and rich with a perfect balance of garlic. It was the perfect way to start our lunch. For the main course we ordered the whole fish (sea bass) grilled and served with grilled vegetables and bakes potatoes. My least favorite meal in Spain. I was dining solo and did not feel the staff paid me any attention. They dropped off menus and did not come back for 15 mins or so and asked me what I wanted. I didnt know there was paella and specials of the night until I oberheard a waiter telling another table. Service was extremely slow. Before our trip to Barcelona, I did some research on beachfront restaurants that were not to touristy, and I had good food and Can Fisher came up on the list so we decided to give it a try. Location is really great, and is probably the best thing about this spot. Service was not great especially considering that it is a large tourist crowd, it took us a while to flag someone down to get drinks, etc.. food overall was good, but not the best paella I had while in Spain, and the prices are definitely inflated because of the beach side location. Meh and expensive, super touristy price and really mid for the delivery. The soft eggs with sea urchin was memorable, the rest on par or a bit lower than the city center real deal spots. This was the only restaurant that asked for service fee on top of bill. There's no need for tips in most places in Spain. After my disappointing experience on July 7th, I decided to give Can Fisher another chance, hoping that my favorite restaurant would redeem itself. Unfortunately, on August 11th, the situation only worsened, and I had to leave before even placing an order. It's clear that Can Fisher has lost its touch, and I can no longer recommend this place to anyone--especially not those with children. Having previously left a negative review after my visit on July 7th, I was hesitant but decided to return to Can Fisher on August 11th, as it had once been a favorite of mine. This time, I reserved a table for five, including two couples and a two-year-old child. I dropped off my guests at the door and went to park the car, only to return and find that, despite the restaurant being nearly empty with only four tables seated, we were once again placed in the sun with the same filthy baby chairs from my last visit. When I arrived, I asked one of the employees to reconsider our seating arrangement, but was met with the same argument as before: "The sun will eventually go down." However, if you arrive at 1:00 PM, the sun doesn't disappear until around 2:30 PM or later, which is far too long to sit in direct sunlight, especially with a young child. I requested that they reconsider our table, and the manager came over to offer us two options: stay at the current table or move inside, where the temperature was even higher. This was baffling, considering that 90% of the outdoor tables were unoccupied. To make matters worse, as we were discussing this with one employee, multiple other staff members interrupted, trying to sell us drinks and their expensive seafood, talking over each other in the process. This chaotic and unprofessional behavior left us feeling frustrated and disrespected. When I finally decided to leave, one of the employees had the audacity to call us rude simply because I asked to go due to their disruptive conduct. This experience confirmed that Can Fisher is not a place to bring children, or even adults who expect decent service. The restaurant seems more focused on pushing sales than providing a pleasant dining experience. It's becoming a complete scam at this point, and I'll be watching to see if they still charge the €50 reservation fee after this debacle. I'll update my review once I know. For now, I strongly advise against dining at Can Fisher. read more

His assistants also served with a warm smile and great attitude. I stopped into this to sea front restaurant situation along a busy walkway along the beach on a Sunday. I was lucky to get a table for one right up front. I had a great view not only of the sea but of the goings on in the restaurant. I asked my server to make suggestions on wine and food and she made excellent choices. She spoke to the 'fisherman' and selected some small shrimp, larger shrimp, clams and sardines. All were deliciously prepared. Also, the olives that were served were amazing. The servers seems very busy and a bit frantic. My server did apologize for not being able to be as attentive to me, but I understood and saw that the restaurant was super busy and there were some demanding larger parties. We narrowed down the seafood to shrimp and clams, and it still was 101 euros. The rice alone was 29 euros. The paella was very salty. A group of us that traveled from the States needed a place for dinner the night of arrival. We walked towards the beach from our hotel and Can Fisher was one of the first restaurants we hit. My wife and I split the paella. It was a black rice variety. The taste was good but definitely different. Two of the folks we were with ordered the salmon and said it was just ok, possible under cooked. We did get a nice table outside to fit the 7 of us. The location and friendliness of the staff was top notch. We had lot of poor service (by American standards) while in Barcelona, but Can Fisher was not one of them. We arrived without a reservation and they found us seating quickly. While I agree with others that the paella was too salty, everything else was fabulous. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I organized a company dinner for 30 people. The communication prior to the event was awesome and super responsive. The day of the event, we arrived a little early to see if we could add four more people to the large group. The onsite manager was very accommodating and made the adjustments with no hesitation. We also had a smaller group that were seated on the patio. The service for the large group was so well timed. They had multiple people staging the food so everyone got served at the same time.
