    Gazpacho

Had the seafood paella, potato salad with prawns, and gazpacho. All were delicious and beautifully plated.

Two types of paella. I liked the black rice paella the most.

I loved, Loved, LOVED La Mar Salada. Unfortunately because of my starvation, I did not have an opportunity to take many photos of our delicious bites. A group of about eight of us stopped by for a lunch. Keep in mind that it's highly recommended that you make a reservation for La Mar. While the restaurant is on a popular strip, it does not appear to be a major local trap bc I think the majority of the folks dining at the restaurant were from Barcelona (or had roots in Barcelona). The black rice paella was probably the best paella that I had while vacationing in Spain. I kind of wish that there was a big more seafood in the paella. The price of our was pretty much in line of what would be expected from a nice, upscale restaurant in the area. Both of our servers were pretty prompt and engaging. Also, they were very patient. I was with a large (and loud) group of Spaniards, but I guess that's la moda de la vida in Barcelona. I think this was the best meal that I had in Barcelona, and I hope to visit in the future.

Was in Barcelona on vacation and wanted to try some paella! Decided to come here since the place we originally wanted to try on the beach was fully booked for the day. The paella came with mussels, prawn, and some shrimp. If you like a more brothy/soupy paella, this isn't for you. We liked it a lot though, but do beware that it was saltier than most paella we tried on the trip. We also tried their oysters, which weren't too great for me but my friends liked it. Service was great too, would recommend for anyone who wants a quick paella stop.

Finished dinner just now! Delicious Paella! Also had appetizer and Sweet Lamb. Great service and very good view in Barceloneta as well. Highly recommend!

We chose this restaurant over the many many others along the marina because one of the creators is the former chef at El Bulli, a one time #1 restaurant in the world. We were mainly there for the paella, but couldn't resist ordering a bunch of small plates too and everything was awesome! My personal favorite were the razor clams with bacon and the canelon with mushrooms and foie gras sauce. The paella was excellent, but be aware that you must order 2 servings and the price listed is per serving! We made a reservation for lunch at 1:30, but when we arrived it was not busy, so I don't think reservations are a must here. Follow me on Instagram @goplaceseatthings for more adventures in eating!

As you walk past the numerous tourist traps on your way toward the beach you will find La Mar Salada which is where you should stop. La Mar Salada is a nice place to grab a meal and enjoy the atmosphere and most important is not touristy. We were in the mood for paella and that is what we ordered. It came with shrimp, prawns, and some mussels. There was a good amount of fresh seafood and the rice was cooked just right. Bonus was that they had an IPA on the menu, which I was so craving. The price for everything was very reasonable.

This is a lovely outdoor restaurant amid a strip of restaurants with photos of their paella displayed and waiters out on the sidewalk asking you to come try their food. We chose this restaurant because TIME OUT Barcelona recommended it as one of the top 10 paellas in Barca. It was very good, but very salty. The lobster gazpacho was very nice as well. Service was OK, not great.

We had the shrimp paella (you have to order paella for two as they won't do it any smaller). It was really good, calamari, langoustine and mussels as well. It was expensive but supposedly the best paella in the city, although this is the only place I've had it in Barcelona. Its great for people watching as its on the main stretch near the harbour. 2 People, Paella for 2, 2 glasses of wine, €45.

    Steak frites cooked medium rare

Amazing! We had dinner reservations for 10 for a party of 10. Everything we had was on point. We ordered a bunch of tapas to share. What stood out the most was their bread with tomato sauce with shave iberico ham . We also ordered the sardines, local oysters, and potato balls! Sardines were nice and light but still not my cup of tea. Mains: Traditional seafood paella - good! Definitely top 3 paella places I've been so far since in Spain. They don't skimp on the seafood on this one . Paella with white fish and razor clams - the best! Has a nice rich seafood flavor for the rice and wasn't overwhelming in the least. This is the one to order if you're a seafood lover. Steak frites - meat quality is out of this world in comparison to the US. Cooked perfectly at medium rare. Only gripe is that they don't season their meat . For our group, we ordered 3 servings of each paella which was more than enough. One thing to keep in mind while traveling in Spain, they do things on their time - slow pace without a care in the world. They're not about the hustle and bustle, eating here is an experience which allows great conversations to foster. Definitely would come back here next time. Don't forget the cava !

Get the arros negre with a bottle of red wine. I fantasize about this meal all the time. Highly recommend!!

Amazing! Tried Hake fish for the first time and it was amazing! The sauce was beyond words! Also accompany with a white wine makes for a perfect evening!

Nestled in an unassuming network of cobble stone lined alley ways are hidden gems worth discovering. We came looking for tapas, paella, sangria; and we found just that. Location: Plaza de España is within a 5 min walk, blocks away from shopping, and 30 minutes from the airport by way of shuttle. Used Google Maps with several sharp turns to find this local favorite. Service: the owner employs his pet Pomeranian, that follows the wait staff unconditionally. This is a no frills restaurant; grab a seat anywhere you like, and order off the menu. What we ate: Table service - pitted olives; briny and herbaceous. So delicious as an appetizer. Crisp Potatoes - served with aioli and red pepper sauce; so simple yet so comforting. Fried Calamari - can't go wrong with crispy calamari. Pork & Mushroom Paella - I know we're used to seeing seafood, but pork and mushroom with crispy rice is different, bold, and worth each bite. Sangria Blanco - I won't lie, it was heaven with the first sip, and it left me wanting more. Unlike its red cousin; white sangria is lighter and more fruit forward. So refreshing! After 18 hours of transiting; this was a delectable experience.

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch.
