Squid Squid Squid, Thats all I have to say about that. Great presentation in the back of the market.

The only reason we chose this sit down bars inside the market was because we saw sangrias for €2,50! While the prices were beverages seem cheap....they make up for it with the price of the food items. After standing alongside the bar waiting for someone to finish their meal so we can snatched up their seats, we finally sat down and ordered ourselves some sangria and shared the catalonia sausage plate for €8,50. The sangria wasn't bad...wish it was a bigger glass though. The sausage plate took forever to prepare. It comes with grilled peppers, fries and bread drizzled with oil and vinegar. The food is just ok for me...you come to the market and dine here for the experience but I definitely wouldn't spend much here. You can get a big empanada or potato cake next door for €2,50 and feel more satisfied. The lady next to us had the salmon plate and she returned her fish back to the kitchen 2 or 3 times because it was raw in the middle. I mean, how hard is it to cook salmon all the way through? At least the server was nice enough to assist her without any attitudes.

We scoped out the entire market before choosing to eat here. This place is located in the back left corner of the market and could have been easily missed. At about 2 pm, we were one of the past tables before closing and many dishes were sold out. Still, we enjoyed the scallops, prawns and mixed vegetables. Prior to this meal, I was avoiding scallops like an ex boyfriend, but these scallops made me remember why I liked them in the first place. Simply grilled on a half shell and dressed with olive oil.

From entering at the main entrance of the market, it's in the back towards the left. Friendly eatery with a focus on seafood dishes. They spoke English and had menus in French, English and Spanish. The staff were good at handling the queue even though there wasn't a real queue as people just move up to the bar as others are eating. It was about a 15-20 min wait at 230 pm on a Saturday. It's cramped eating at the bar but this whole market is cramped so it's all relative. Ordered calamari (10€) - ok not super flavourful or tender. Patatas bravas (5€) were delicious!!! 3 grilled sardines (4€) as he didn't have a full order for us was very good. And the seabass (13€) was simply cooked and came with fries. Very fresh fish. Cava was 2.75€ per glass - can't get over how inexpensive cava is here! Staff were friendly and food came at a good pace. Overall good to average place.

This place is probably the absolute best in that market.

Me encanta Bar Clemen's. This place was absolutely our favorite in La Boqueria. I believe we went 3 times all together for a long leisurely lunch. It seems some people complained on this site about the prices, but OMG, -seriously you CANNOT get this kind of food in the states for less $100.00 or more. The quality was sublime. We tried almost everything in the menu and my husband still talks about the anchovies. However, if you are really adventurous try the tripe, "callos". It reminded me of Cuba and my grandmother's cooking. This is a family owned business and they are the nicest and most hardworking people you will find in that place. Our second trip to Barcelona and Bar Clemen's will be on our list for our 3rd trip.

IF you're in Barcelona you MUST stop by here and sit and eat. This place is in the St. Josep La Boqueria Mercat (The Market). Grab some cava and enjoy great selections here. The older guy that works here with his wife is awesome and attentive. He knows exactly what you need with your meal before you know you need it. (I think he's the owner). The cava here is cheaper than most other places I found in this Market. So drink up. Everything looks yummy. But no matter what you order definitely order the Baby Fried Squid. YUM!!!! Literally melts in your mouth. You might never be able to appreciate calamari again. The artichokes were also made to perfection! Will definitely be hitting this place everytie I'm in Barcelona. Tip: Make sure you keep your receipt if you want to use the bathroom at this Market, it's free with a receipt from one of the vendors, without a receipt they charge you to use the bathroom.

Great place held by a family. We ordered a mix plate of seafood (Parillada de Mariscos). Was very good - eat with hands. Also recommend to take fried potatoes - they taste like heaven!!! Beer on tap available.

Lots of seafood to choose from

Nestled in an unassuming network of cobble stone lined alley ways are hidden gems worth discovering. We came looking for tapas, paella, sangria; and we found just that. Location: Plaza de España is within a 5 min walk, blocks away from shopping, and 30 minutes from the airport by way of shuttle. Used Google Maps with several sharp turns to find this local favorite. Service: the owner employs his pet Pomeranian, that follows the wait staff unconditionally. This is a no frills restaurant; grab a seat anywhere you like, and order off the menu. What we ate: Table service - pitted olives; briny and herbaceous. So delicious as an appetizer. Crisp Potatoes - served with aioli and red pepper sauce; so simple yet so comforting. Fried Calamari - can't go wrong with crispy calamari. Pork & Mushroom Paella - I know we're used to seeing seafood, but pork and mushroom with crispy rice is different, bold, and worth each bite. Sangria Blanco - I won't lie, it was heaven with the first sip, and it left me wanting more. Unlike its red cousin; white sangria is lighter and more fruit forward. So refreshing! After 18 hours of transiting; this was a delectable experience.

We were treated like locals with a warm welcome. Tables outside on the patio as well as cozy indoor seating. The house made lemon cello was a finishing treat.

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

I had no idea how huge and elegant the restaurant was until I went inside to use the bathroom before leaving. We were there just after 7 pm so it wasn't as busy as I imagine it will get later, because in Barcelona, people don't have dinner until 9 or 10 PM. We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. We ordered their homemade Belgian chocolate ice cream, which is hands-down, the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten. And we also ordered their version of a crème brûlée called crema Catalonya! Both desserts were amazing, however, I highly recommend the Belgian chocolate ice cream. Overall, the experience was amazing and I hope to pop in again before we leave. Enjoy!

Both my son and I are very picky about Lebanese food having been spoiled by the excellent Lebanese in our home town Los Angeles, so we ordered with trepidation. The very first must-try dish immediately set our minds at ease: please, do yourselves a favor and order their Fatoush salad. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch. We liked the dish of garbanzo and yogurt a bit less, as it was quite heavy and lacked flavor. My son was very pleased with shish tavouk with chicken, and I loved my halloumi dish.
