One of the Best tapas stops on Barcelona. Nice sitting area outside as well as stools. They do a wonderful cappuccino fully dusted if you like it that way it's top notch here. Great meats and some of the best octopus you can find. So fresh and good you would think. You were at the seafood market. Service is very friendly and helpful.

    Pulpo!!!

I found Bar Celta Pulperia off a Google search while trying to find some more pulpo! Servers were friendly and extremely patient with my lack of Spanish skills. Place is fairly small, but was easy to get a seat when I arrived around 3pm. I mainly came just for a mid afternoon snack, so I ordered the pulpo, fried pig snout, and razor clams. The pulpo was amazing; meat was tender with that slight crunch from the rock salt. Never had razor clams before. They were very meaty and flavorful. Pork snouts were just okay. It seemed like they had been sitting out a while and didn't taste freshly fried. Portions for each item were very generous. I would definitely come here again to try their other tapas!

While the service wasn't the best I had, the food was Out of this world. The tapas were smaller portions than others we visited, but there are a lot of choices and the flavor more than makes up for it. There definitely only seemed to be tourists at this place, but the spice on the food kept us there! The prices were slightly higher than I'd pay, especially for the amount of food we were getting, and the sangria wasn't as strong as I would've liked...but I have to say that the taste and spice of the food kept me from decreasing my rating. I'd visit - but only if nothing else in the area suits your fancy!

My fiance and I stumbled upon this place when we were going back to our hotel at night. It was packed and had many people. We passed by in the afternoon - same story. So we decided to come here one day in the afternoon to grab some food. There were mostly locals, so I know this place is good. The menu is on a blackboard, or the English menu is up front. But beware, you really need to brush up on your Spanish as the English in this establishment is not good, but the food is amazing! Everything we ordered was great, but the pulpo was the standout dish. So amazing!! AND at the most reasonable price I've seen in Barcelona (but I've only been in BCN for 4 days, so don't take my word for it.) Either way, it was a great local vibe, a bit of an homage to the good old days in the decor, and I highly suggest the food. Price was reasonable, service was friendly, and the food was good. Will return when I have a chance to visit Barcelona again!

Stopped by this place b/c it was one of the few places open on a Sunday. Maybe it was because we stopped at like 3-4PM after the lunch rush but before dinner, but the food just did not seem fresh. We ordered a plate of octopus, as well as some calamari and tomato bread, but nothing really stood out. The octopus and calamari were cold and clearly not fresh, and we never even got served our bread (luckily, they also didn't charge us for it). Language barrier was a slight issue but the servers were more or less pretty friendly. Would not recommend the food though.

I found this place by asking the newspaper stand man, and I'm so glad I did. There are no paper menus. Everything is written on blackboards. However, the locals seem to go there and know what they want, the pulpo. Now, after a long walk from Barceloneto, we were hot and tired. We ordered their in house sangria, We loved it so much that we went for seconds. The place is very cozy and welcoming. The staff is very pleasant and willing to help, if needed. There are restrooms available. When you visit, make sure you take your time to enjoy the time spent there.

    Spanish Omelette Sandwich

We just finished the Picasso museum, my son and I just split from our group but we're hungry. Stopped at this tapas bar. Tell you what, I was a little confused. Only menu is outside. There are about 10 or so tables and also bar seats. No outside seating. They don't speak English. Only Spanish. Good think my son can speak a little from his high school days. Anyways, we both ordered sangria's. I also got a pork loin sandwich and my son got the spanish Omelette sandwich. The pork loin sandwich was on some really fresh French roll. So soft and chewy. Small porting of pork loin with melted cheese. So good. Really liked the sandwich. My son's Spanish omelette sandwich was a little strange. Tasted potatoes and not really any egg but it was really good on the fresh French roll. The Sangria's was pretty good too. At the bar they have all this food behind glass and a lot of people just looking and point and getting served. It's so relaxing. So friendly even though they don't speak English. They guys at the bar and servers are always smiling and having a good time. It's a fun little place to eat and drink. Enjoy

Excellent place for tapas especially the octopus plate. Tender bite sized pieces drizzled with olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika. Beautiful Barcelona, take a detour to enjoy these simple pleasures.

The food is incredible! I highly recommend ordering Patatas Bravas All I Oli and Chistorra but everything is delicious. It's definitely a more local tapas place which is fun and authentic and our waiter was super kind! 10/10 recommend!

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!
