Really pissed off right now. Sent my employee Ryan to return some boots and a hat for me sent him back saying they can't do anything without the manager. I am Caucasian and had a foot surgery so obviously I can't wear boots anyway Ryan who is African American drives 45 minutes to return my items 2x. I call after the second time they said the boots were used and the manager accuses me of using them in a photo shoot for the "COMPTON COWBOYS" and then returning them so I take it since Ryan was black he was returning used boots for his Compton Cowboy boss in their eyes. Borderline racist in my opinion refused to see the picture of my white leg with a hole in it as proof. The boots were a week old I tried them on 1 time there's at the store and then at home tags still on them the hat same thing everything was brand new. First off I don't even know who the Compton Cowboys are neither does Ryan 2nd don't accuse me of something completely false. I'm glad they gave me my money back $50 in $1's but yup racism and prejudices seem to still be alive and well in the good old BOOT BARN. I think Ryan deserves an apology not me I felt bad for him he Is such a nice guy and they wanted to assume he was something he is not a Compton cowboy! Shame on you guys read more

So , I have bought 4 pair of boots here within the last 2 years and other stuff . The last time I bought a pair of boots was about 2 weeks ago , the customer service girl was really helpful and always have been. I had been looking for a pair of corral boot size10.5 (289.00)which she was gracious enough to order from another store(because they do not have it)..And lo and behold she called me to try them on when they came in.Next day I went in to try them on. She saw that the boot did not fit me and was eager to order me a size 11. After being around in the store for 30 mins or so , I walked to the counter to ask her about the time the other pair was coming in and ...but an employeee I am assuming he is the owner son or manager a Caucasian man said that it could not be ordered because it costs boot barn 40 to 50 dollars everytime a pair of boots is shipped REALLY ? Which I responded you do not have to give me this attitude .Responding promptly he said have a good night Sir . IS THIS SERVICE ? Interesting enough he said it in front of 2 or 3 other shoppers. Before this incident the same man had me wait about 5 mins with my girlfriend in order tp pay for her boots xmas time With this kind of person in the store IT WILL MAKE ME UNCOMFORTABLE of buying there. Yesterday I went to the boot barn to make a purchase at the Los alamitos store. I was going to make a large purchase. I was in the store fifteen minutes and not one employee asked to help me. At least two made eye contact and then looked away. I'm in customer service for a living and do very well because I make people feel welcome. I did not feel welcome so I decided to leave was not asked to come back and will be making my purchase on line. Went in yesterday with my dad. He had previously seen a belt in a boot barn out of state. We got help from Luna. He was legit, showed my dad to the belt right away, and helped my dad at the hat section with some questions. He never rushed us and was patient with my dad. Also he looked online to see if the price matched the tag. Ended up saving 5 dollar after doing so. I wandered the store for a while as my dad was busy looking around, I never thought I'd want to own a pair of boots, but I am definitely going back and getting some I tried on. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My husband bought an expensive pair of boots at Boot Barn. One boot was defective. I took the unworn boots in their original box to the Torrance store to exchange for an identical pair. The condescending salesgirl said, "They are matching in size! Duh," because she looked at the label. She said DUH to me! They did indeed have matching labels. I told her that the left one was too narrow across the ankle. She countered with, "Everyone has one foot that is bigger," as if I'd never bought shoes before and as if I were too stupid to know the size of my own feet. I asked for the manager. I told the manager salient facts and reiterated that I wanted to exchange the boots for the exact same boots. In effect, he called me a liar. I wasn't asking for money. The boots were unworn. He told me that they would not do an even identical exchange without a receipt since he had no proof that the boots came from Boot Barn. These people were arrogant. They condescended. They were rude. They offered horrid customer service. Frankly, my husband should have ordered boots from Zappos. At least they respect their customer. And hey would have been far less expensive. read more

BOOT BARN ON HAWTHORNE RIPS OFF CUSTOMERS AND ROTTEN SERVICE! 1.) Boot Barn Falsely advertises 50% off boots on their big window but then have only ONE pair out of 100 pairs actually "on sale." When you ask the manager TINA why there is only one pair of boots on sale but the BIg Ad draws you in with the promise of 50% off, she says "all the sale boots were gone within hours of the sign being put up" days ago-so why not take the misleading sign down? Felt we were being conned. 2.) No one out of 4 sales people working there offers to help customers even when you are the only customer there. They are chit chatting with each other and ignoring the customer. 3.) When you find the boots you want but discover they are "damaged" but still charging the full price of over $200 and you ask for a courtesy 10% discount to compensate for the damage on the boot, the manager TINA refuses with a lame excuse that "boots will get damaged when you wear them and your jeans will cover them anyway." We were looking to buy 3 pairs of boots but with that kind of anti-customer attitude who would buy from them again? 4.) And if you spend more than $200 for one pair of boots, you are told by Tina they have no boxes to put them in as their policy is to throw out the boxes. My advice to the owners of Boot Barn-train your people to care about the customer or you will go out of business in the very near future. I came home and bought boots ONLINE and saved money-my future boot purchases will be ONLINE saving time as it was over an hour each way in LA traffic to get to Hawthorne-Torrance. The only reason to drive to a store is for "customer service" -not found at the Boot Barn. Pity because they could exercise real cowboy hospitality and win the loyalty of customers if they hired the right people and trained them the right way to keep a customer happy. An art that is sadly fading into the sunset at chains like Boot Barn and stores where the employee doesn't care if the customer returns or disappears. read more

The worst most dreadful customer service EVER!!! The Customer Service Manager Sherry doesn't know the first thing about customer service. I was sent boots in the wrong color and size. Sherry had agreed to send my replacement order Next Day as it was a Christmas gift. When I got email confirmation of my order the shipping was 2nd Day and they weren't shipping until the next day which would be to late for Christmas. I canceled my order, which she shipped anyway. She never sent a return shipping label or credit for the wrong boots or the replacement boots (I had to reverse the charge on my credit card for both charges). Their on line customer service took 6 working days to reply to my email. 6 Days! I was trying to exchange a shirt I bought to give as a Christmas gift. I returned the shirt and another week went by before I got an email telling me the shirt was not available and they would refund my credit card. A good customer service should have replied to my email ASAP and informed me the shirt was not in stock. They need to work on the Boot Barn Customer Service. read more

I buy at two of the Boot Barn stores -- Torrance and Las Vegas. In both stores the staff are helpful and friendly. Once or twice at the Torrance store I knew exactly what I wanted, called and they held the item for me to pick up. Their boot sales people are very knowledgeable and patient. They have an excellent selection in styles and prices. They have also been very helpful about returns and exchanges. If they don't have an item stock, they are very eager to order for you. The Las Vegas store is much larger. I stop there on my twice-yearly trips. There are other Western Wear stores, but Boot Barn is at the top of my list. I agree with the writer who said that you have to try hats on to get the right size. The same is true of boots. That's why I shop at the store vs. online. read more

I was just in last night and i was helped by an associate Michelle. She was great! She was very comfortable with the product and everything i asked she had an exact answer for. If you guys are ever in need of boots make sure you come here and you ask to be helped by Michelle. She recommended some boots and even told me how it should be worn! Horrible service! I ordered a pair of $200 boots online that the store doesn't carry in stock and originally the store told me that if the boot didn't fit I could just return it through the store and exchange it for the right size. I went in and the lady there said that they won't just do an exchange, they need to refund me and then place a new order for the boots, but the kicker was that they wanted the packing slip. The receipt that was on my phone wasn't good enough for them. I asked if I could print it out on their printer and she tells me they don't have a printer. That's a bunch of BS. I wouldn't be upset if they had explained everything they would have needed from the first time I spoke with them. The person there that seemed to be the manager didn't care to help me and just seemed like she just wanted to move onto the next customer. THUMBS DOWN BOOT BARN! Boot Barn has a very limited selection of Harley boots, but my husband found some Wolverine Harley Davidson boots at this store location for $79.95, but they did not have his size. The clerk told us she could do a store transfer that could take anywhere from the first of the week to three weeks for them arrive at this store and we would still be able to purchase them for $79.95. After about two weeks we were excited when we got a call that the boots had arrived at the store. When we went to pick up the boots my husband also found a pair of Wolverine work boots for $154.99 to purchase along with the Harley boots. When we went to complete our purchase the clerk informed us that we could not get the Harley boots for $79.95 (very rudely by the way) but we could purchase them for $129.95. After hearing this my husband decided to only purchase the Wolverine work boots. My husband is WAY nicer then me because I would NOT purchased anything and told her where she could place both boots! My first point is that if you need to make a purchase, go somewhere to purchase it because Boot Barn's word means nothing! My second point is that we could have ordered them online ourselves paying full price and had them delivered to our home! I had a similar experience as poster "Mark M" 12/26/2016. I purchased boots online for a Christmas gift. When I drove from Venice to Torrance to exchange them they said they were too busy (also went in on 12/26/2016) and to come back. At that time we purchased another pair of boots. So I returned 2 days later to try again to now just return the boots. They told me I had to get there before 5:00 because BootBarn Customer Service closes at 5:00 pm. Two trips to Torrance later....... I called Customer Service the next day and they told me that they're open 24/7 and there was no reason for the Torrance store not to accept the return. I called the store and they apologized. Customer Service sent me a free return label and I mailed them back. Just yesterday, almost a month later, I finally got my money back for the first boots I purchased. Oh, and when I placed the order online.....Boot Barn accidentally charged me 3 times. Nightmare. Customer service was pretty bad.I had them ship it as a gift.Went on their website and saw they offer free shipping,15% off any order and would match any price.I called and asked if I could get the free shipping,the 15% off as advertised and match Zappo"s 20$ cheaper price.The response was yes in general,but in my case the order was already made so there is no recourse to these discounts.No discounts,no exceptions,period! .Called general office,they also said to late for advertised discounts,even if it hasn't been shipped.Pretty tough policy.I said Merry Christmas at end of call and got no response,nice. I saw the negative reviews on this store and I just had to write. I visited the Torrance store a couple of months ago and I experienced THE BEST customer service. First, I was coming after work and I was trying to get across town from Los Angeles to Torrance during rush hour traffic before the store closed. In my rush, I got lost going to the store and I called. The store manager that night gave me directions which I followed. I barely got in 10 minutes before the store closed and the manager graciously allowed me to roam the store shopping as he was beginning to close down. I came for a specific item and even though he was the only one in the store, he kindly went in the back to look for my item and checked their computer when he could not find what I was looking for. Throughout my time there, I felt welcomed and in no way did he rush me to get out. I had the same experience with the Boot Barn store in Lake Elsinore. There, I was greeted upon coming in, but left alone to shop unmolested. When I had a question, the saleslady not only gave me some good tips and advice but she also found ways to help me save money on my purchases. For all of you who had negative experiences with the employees at Boot Barn, it is good that you complained. Maybe the company listened and hired these great employees instead. read more
