The good: I found so many cute and trendy purses, jewelry, shoes and accessories. They had many sunglasses for under $30. They sold purse brands like Furla and Marc Jacob's. I got a hot wheels dinosaur toy, mermaid Barbie toy, two pairs of kids Adidas shoes here. Their men's clothes looked trendy. The shopping carts are small and easy to maneuver with cup holders and a hook for purses or backpacks. There was plenty of parking. The bad: I wanted to browse the store more but couldn't with two toddlers. I always get asked if my email is correct at checkout. It isn't. Yesterday I stopped by to pick up a pair of jeans I ordered online and while browsing there I found few pair of jeans, sweat pants, that was on red tag clearance with extra 25% off. But when I was at check out, this lady cashier all of a sudden started to peel off the red tags and rescan it at full price, and told me that price was incorrect. So does anyone having the same problem?. Is that the cashier can decide to take the item back if they want to and not to sell it to you? Any reason or was that something about me or the way I look that she did this to me? Pretty bad that their employee treated their customer like this. Nordstrom is a very famous retail store; so I had high expectations going in here. Apparently, these Rack stores have lower prices. I bought a cool leather looking jacket, a couple shirts and underwear. I like the look of the jacket and it fits well. The place kind of reminded me of Marshalls and Dress for Less but overall the quality appeared to be higher. Service and store layout/ambience was nothing special though. The parking lot is very busy; people drive too fast; so be careful walking to the store and out. Recommended for value deals on more upscale clothes. read more

What was I thinking... ... dropping by ten days before Christmas, really?!? I had a couple more people on my list to buy presents for. Since I was nearby, I thought I'd check this place out (since I've also never been.) I was lucky enough to find what I needed! And quickly at that! So I also quickly tried to find where the line is to pay. And oh, boy, that line was a mile long! And I'll admit I thought about just leaving, anticipating I'd be here t least a half hour. NOPE: I was outta there in ten minutes! (I actually clocked it!) Staff was certainly ready for the crowd! Found bargain buys. Got outta there in no time. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I clearly explained to the cashier BEFORE the transaction that I needed two separate return transactions for a specific reason. One return was going to be an exchange, and the other needed to be a full refund back to a different card -- because one of the returns was NOT mine. That is exactly why separating the transactions mattered, and I made that very clear upfront. I specifically explained how the transaction needed to be handled to avoid issues. The cashier insisted it was fine to combine the returns, and since she works there, I trusted her judgment and assumed she understood how the system processes refunds. While I understand that some system limitations may not be her personal fault, the issue is that my instructions were not followed, and I was reassured in a way that led to a financial mistake. My returns were $102.49 on one receipt and $169.91 on the other, and I clearly requested the full refund of the second receipt. Instead, the refunds were incorrectly split, with one receipt receiving MORE money than I even returned and the other receiving significantly less. The math did not add up, and it made no sense. Because of this error, my money was mishandled, and I am now dealing with a situation where funds that were not even mine were incorrectly processed. I was told the mistake could not be corrected, and customer care was also unable to resolve it. This could have been completely avoided if my request had been followed the first time or if I had been accurately informed about how the system would process the returns. Instead, my time was wasted, my money was mishandled, and I may not even be able to recover the correct amount -- all because I was not listened to despite being very clear from the beginning. Nordstrom Rack needs to take responsibility for this mistake and ensure customers are not financially impacted due to poor communication or system issues. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in this store. read more

I've gone to this location twice for online returns, and both times they took the merchandise but didn't credit me for all the items. When I called back, out of three garments they could verify on camera, only those were refunded. The other two pieces--totalling $150--were completely missing from my refund. Are you a Rack Head? I'm not really a Rack Head--but I did enjoy my shopping experience in the store today. There is a lot of inventory here right now--if you need something--go now before the holiday sales start. I had a very old gift card and needed a dress belt so I stopped in and was amazed at how many dress belts they have with prices at $20 or less. There were about 12 racks of belts. I found something I liked but it took 30+ minutes at the register because the gift card was so old that while it had the balance, they could not figure out how to use it. They had to call headquarters and headquarters had to escalate to a high level who still could not figure it out. My gift card dated back to the days before the internet. Hey, I've been busy! LOL The gift card was probably older than most of the employees in the store. When they described the Nordstrom's gift card over the phone to headquarters--they never heard of such a card--but when they input the numbers--they did have the correct balance. The card just had an account number--no chip or digital. Without boring you with all the back and forth between the employees, managers, headquarters and me--in the end, after 30 minutes or more at the register--thankfully they just manually gave me the credit balance. The clerk told me they are going to take a loss on this balance because headquarters cannot figure out how to credit the store with the gift card balance. I did not like to hear that because I was impressed with the employees here--who I got to observe checking out dozens of other customers waiting for them to resolve the gift card dilemma at the register. Free large easy parking lot, Target is across the street and so is a large shopping mall called the Galleria. I will come back and have another look around soon. read more

I went to this location yesterday Dec 30th after 7:30pm to pick up my online order. As I approached the dressing room/ order pick up area. A young lady standing behind the counter asked if I was here for pick up? I said yes and attempted to give her my CDL but she stated We don't do that here. You cannot pick up an order with your ID. I was a little confused? I told her my phone died but I have my identification card to pick up my order. She laughed and stated once again we don't do that here! I replied you don't allow customers to pick up their orders with their identification card? She just stared at me! I chose to just leave the store and let the order go back eventually! Service at the register is always super friendly and efficient. The last time I came I had a great experience until I got home and realized that the security tag wasn't removed from a top I just purchased. I came in here to find a skinny men's dress sock that I have been trouble finding due to issues finding the right size. I asked Aliyah who worked up front if they had some skinnier men's dress socks in a large variety of sizes. She directed me to the socks section and showed me a bunch of good pairs. Prices were good too! Most of all Aliyah's service was top notch and she made sure that I found what I needed and was very detailed and thorough in her explanation of how to find the socks I needed. I've been looking for a casual shoulder or cross body handbag for a few months now. I wasn't in a rush, but was prepared to purchase something as long as it was comfortable (not too heavy), the right size, and was well made. My first stop was the luggage department since I had purchased a Tumi carry on last year for a trip to Hawaii from this store. I asked one of the salespersons if she knew whether there were any Tumi handbags, and she said not in their department, but there might be a cross body and backpack in the handbag department on the other side of the store. To my surprise, she called over to the handbag department for someone to assist me with Tumi. I heard her tell them that I was heading over and even described what I was wearing. Wish I had gotten her name. I walked over to that department, but the salesperson didn't seem interested in helping me. When I inquired about Tumi, she said that everything was mixed up and to look around on my own. I saw a number of brand names such as Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, and Rebecca Minkoff, but none of them worked for me. She never approached me to see if I found what I was looking for, or to offer any assistance. I was getting ready to leave when I noticed some backpacks against the far wall. Then I saw the 2 Tumi items that the salesperson in luggage mentioned. The Tumi leather cross body was just what I was looking for and at a great price. I decided to buy it and stood in line. Tiffany took care of my purchase and carefully inspected the bag to be sure there were no hidden security items going off when I exited. When I inquired about changing my phone number for the Nordstrom Rewards, she called Corporate and took care of it while I waited. I appreciated service provided by 2 of the 3 staff I encountered who were willing to go out of their way to help! I had a problem here trying to return something that I had bought online. It was expensive, $150+. I feel they were not helpful at all. They told me to 'return it online'. I ordered directly from their site, they should be able to honor the return. Not sure why this was a problem? I ended up leaving, went to another location and they were able to do it just fine. I love this place... Especially during a clear the rack sale. Get there early for the best selection! They always have great deals on makeup like MAC, Nyx, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and even Philosophy products. Since I shop constantly, I try not to buy anything at full price at Nordstrom's. I try and wait for everything to get reduced 40% at the Rack. I have even found accessories that I've purchased at Nordstrom's at the Rack and other stuff too. Selection can be limited...but if you look hard enough, you'll find something good. Plenty of great designers like Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Rebecca Minkoff, Tom Ford, Prada Etc. There's so much to choose from. Today I scored some awesome Prada sunglasses. These will replace the Jimmy Choo sunglasses that I also purchased at the Rack for $99. They were originally $399. I always find something nice at this location- whether it be shoes, dresses, or blazers. My issue is when I go to the kids' shoe section. Each shelf is over-stuffed and there are shoes covering the floor of both sides of the aisles. It's disorganized and isn't inviting. It seems like the staff have given up organizing and so the customers also don't make an effort to keep the floors clear. I picked up all the shoes off the floor of one aisle, and it took me no more than three minutes. Please figure this out. read more

So you know where I'm coming from, I'm not a high-priced-department-store shopper. I can't remember the last time I was even inside a normal Nordstrom. But, I do like my discount stores like Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx and, on the rare occasion, Nordstrom Rack. This is a good sized store and, unlike many other stores that make you walk through the entire store to get to the clearance rack, this store has the men's clearance rack right inside the door to your left (if you please). But, don't be fooled, this is still the extremely high priced items from Nordstrom marked down, some quite nicely, some not so much. I found this great looking jacket that was previously $800 on sale for $300. Good deal if that's your budget but that's way too much for me. On the other hand, I found a great Tommy Bahama pullover sweatshirt that normally sells for well over $100 on sale for $20. Now that's my kind of discount! The line to get out of the store took longer than I thought it should but I guess that's the price you pay in time to get those discounted prices. It's a clean store, lots of parking and quite a nice selection of clothes, shoes, handbags, luggage, etc. Hope you can find what you're looking for, in your size, and on the clearance rack! I was trying to look at a purse and she looked at me as if I was in her way. I asked her where can I find something and she just pointed! I asked another employee for a manager and when I found out it was her I was very disappointed with her behavior! The employee told me no one in the store cares for her and I can see why! As a regular at this location, I've always had amazing service. Some of the girls know me by name, it's like seeing your friends a few times a week. Faith, Sharon, Andria, Alisa are always so sweet and helpful. There are a few in shoes I don't know their names but always working hard with the mess other customers leave behind. And I always find what I'm looking for. All that said, idk when they hired this very short, messy haired, prejudice white woman to be a cashier but she is not what I would think Nordstrom and Rack brand stands for. Several times while in line I've seen her treat different people differently. As well as ignore several customers if they are POC. I've seen it more than once, it's clear it's on purpose. Her attitude w/ white customers is altogether different than her attitude....if she chooses to help them...than her attitude with POC customers. And she takes a very long time with each customer. I will do whatever I can to not get her as my cashier. The two times I did, she left 2 sensors on, thankfully Andria was nearby to take them off. I don't know why this woman has such attitude but it's clear she doesn't belong there. Other than that, like I said, always have a great experience even when it's busy. @nordstrom_rack is open now in the South Bay! I didn't get to go the first day but I did get to check this place out on the 2nd day that it opened when I had a day off and it was packed! Actually it wasn't so bad but there was plenty of people there. I found it strange a bit since it was a work day and I was there in the middle of the day (hmm don't all those people work haha..where are they all coming from?? Maybe we all have the day off together lol). This Nordstrom Rack is a little smaller than others that I've been to though and so this maybe why it seemed quite crowded. Plenty of good brands - Coach, DKNY, Michale Kors, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs! Sunglasses, purses, shoes, watches, clothes....you name it. The line to checkout was long and I was quite amused that there was an employee who's main job was to hold a sign that told shoppers where the end of the line was. He greeted me with a friendly "Welcome to the end of the line" when I got there. The line was long but moved quickly because they had several cashiers. It was also easy to see who the next available cashier was because they would lift bright pink, green and red flags when they were free. So nice to see a Nordstrom Rack in the South Bay! read more

I asked an employee if there was a price check scanner, and she said no, that I would have to take it up to the register. Nordstrom Rack Is a rather interesting store. It is advertised to be the outlet center for the department chain Nordstrom. And though I suppose this is the case, it is not like when you go in here you find clothing and shoes with drastically reduced prices. Yes, they may be less then you would find in Nordstrom but I would not consider these prices to be cheap and/or discount by any means. The interior of the story is rather cluttered. The sections are not clearly defined and there is way too much stuff piled into the store to make it an enjoyable shopping experience. The one thing I will say, is that they have a large selection of shoes. This is the case for both men and women. There are a lot of shoes! Again, it is not that you're going to find drastically reduced prices on these shoes. In fact, you generally can find the name-brand shoes they offer here for cheaper prices online or at other sporting good stores -- if tennis shoes are what you're after. Nonetheless, they have a lot of shoes! Plus, you can try them on here. So, that goes along way in the overall shoe buying experience. If I have a complaint about this store, it is something that I also put in a tip. That complaint is, they have what they call Express Checkout. The problem is, at this ExpressCheck out, they specifically ask and offer customers the ability to sign up for their credit card in these lines. Thus, this being a long process, means that it is not express checkout at all for anyone else who is in the line. I believe that this is a bad business practice and they should really keep the offering of a credit card to their primary checkout lines and not their express lines. I'll definitely be going back to the main store or the one by Beverly Center. Update: after waiting forever for my order, they only gave me part of it. They were going back and forth with folks trying to get the rest of my order. Their system showed they gave me everything, but they forgot three items.
