I love great customer service and that's exactly what I received today at Front Runners. I called before I went in to inquire about the foot scan and Michael was very kind and helpful. When I went into the store and started to look around, a gentleman came out & said someone would be right with me. A few seconds later, Tehani (Assistant Manager) approached me and asked how she could help me. Well she did just that and more!! We did the scan and I was so shocked when she told me my shoe size! I've been wrong all 40 yrs of my life! My right foot is a half size bigger She also had me walk and noticed that my feet leaned inward. Based on the results of the scan & her observation, she recommended Hokas and Brooks. I initially came into the store for the Hoka Gaviota but she suggested the Arahis for me. Unfortunately, they didn't have the size in the color that I wanted so I'll order them online. however, she did also help me with some shoe inserts for my current pair of tennis shoes and some Oofa slides to wear in the house. I'm so used to wear slippers but these slides feel so great on my achy heel and arches. Honestly, my feet already feel a lot better from just from walking with the new inserts. The Oofas were a little more in cost than I saw online but it was so worth the experience and the knowledge I received from Tehani. I would definitely shop with them again. The store is very easy to find when you're driving down Hawthorne and there's PLENTY of parking. All of the staff were welcoming! 5 stars read more

I have been looking for a new pair of running shoes for literal months. I pronate really bad and don't like a lot of forward tilt in my shoes so I've been struggling to find a good shoe that was comfortable and usable for walking, training, and light running. My poor feet were needing some extra TLC, so my podiatrist recommended visiting Frontrunners. I opened the doors and was warmly greeted by Shay. She walked me through every step of the process--first, your foot is analyzed to figure out the proper width, size, and arch support needed. Next, you do a quick strut around the store so they can see how your feet move. And then comes the fun part of trying on different styles of shoes for comfort and fit. Shay recommended some inserts that help provide some extra support for my non-existent arch. She also helped with picking out some in-house slippers. Shay is incredibly informative and knowledgeable about all things feet and the proper fit for shoes. Today, I went into Front Runners. I had not planned on buying walking shoes but wanted to at least try on a pair to see what options I have. Brian was great assisting me with trying on shoes. He completed a foot assessment and brought out various pairs of shoes for me to try. He took his time with each pair making sure I felt comfortable in each pair. It has been years since I have been in a shoe store where I have actually been assisted in making the right decision. Sunday, I had the pleasure of being helped by Max. My daughter and I went this location to get our feet measured and to buy some good walking shoes to train for the marathon. Max was super helpful and told us he was assisting others in the store and to please bare with him, which we did. He brought out 4 boxes of shoes for me to try...plus insoles for the shoes and even suggested socks to prevent blisters. I wanted to thank him for his professionalism and his honesty as well. I went here on the recommendation of my podiatrist, but was disappointed that there was only one wide width new balance shoe in stock for me to try on in my size (7.5 Wide). They can order them, but different shoes can fit in different ways so it's important to be able to try them on. I felt like it was a wasted trip. They were also running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to serve all of the customers, so it wasn't ideal. read more

Went in on a Sunday for the foot scan and to possibly buy a pair of shoes. Brian, taller Asian gentleman, was a great help and easy to consult with. The scan itself took only about 3 mins, and gave better results (I feel) than RoadRunners. Also in comparison, service and consultation was more in depth and knowledgeable than RoadRunners. I ended up getting a shoe I wasn't even interested in at first, so that's a nice surprise and a testament to Brian's suggestions. Brian offered insoles and other options but never felt pushy. Wanted to nab a new pair of running shoes and figured I'd go to FrontRunners because according to online, they had the shoe I was looking for. Once there, we were greeting and offered to evaluate our feet. This was super helpful and the recommendations were spot on. The real star of the show was who helped us (Shay). I've never had fun while shopping for shoes and yet Shay made that happen! She literally said all the right things and was never pushy about anything. Although the inserts are a little pricey for what it is, the shoes are extremely competitive on prices. I highly recommend this store for your running needs and ask for Shay if she's there. Today, my son and I visited the store, and unfortunately, our experience left us feeling disrespected and mistreated. We are African-American, and during our visit, we noticed that there were at least two other employees available who were actively helping other customers of Caucasian race. When it came down to just us and one other Caucasian customer in the store, the only assistance we received was from the one African-American employee, who was made to help both of us at the same time. This meant she had to run back and forth between the two customers, while the other staff stood around doing nothing. We observed that the Caucasian customer received much more attentive service--having shoes laced, fitted, and multiple options offered--while we were largely left to help ourselves. I still purchased my son a pair of shoes, but because I received no assistance in finding something for myself, I left without buying anything for me. This kind of service is unacceptable. Management needs to ensure all customers are treated equally and with the same level of care and respect, regardless of race. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as every customer deserves to feel valued. read more

They have good selection but 1 star because the employee SHAY was easily irritated with customers. We asked for one shoe in size 8 and she got frustrated because she couldn't find it at the back. So, she asked us to pick a different shoe, my mom now how to choose a different one on the spot. So my mom choose a random one and didn't know what color, she specifically said "I'll just bring any color" and rushes to the back. My mom at this point just looks at me like why is she angry?? I don't know I feel conscious now asking her for sizes. We just try the sample one then, but she manages to tell us to not do that because we are making her job harder. Since, she has to untie every shoe we put on. She takes the shoe I had on, and right in front of me fix it right back muttering "it will make my job easier, if you didn't do that". Then proceeds to go to my mom and tell her the same thing. My mother at this point, just puts on her shoe and leaves. Then Shay had the Audacity to tell us passively aggressively "have a nice day". Alex was incredibly knowledgeable, genuine and wasn't pushy at all or tried to sell me on anything. He went over the proper size of shoes I needed which I was shocked was a half size bigger since for as long as I can remember everyone told me I needed a 6. The options he brought out were perfect. They have a machine that you can measure your foot on and is pretty precise as far as your size, instep, arches, etc. Max was especially helpful during my visit and made sure I knew how proper footwear should fit and feel. It pains me to write this review. I had enjoyed the service I used to get at the New Balance and now FrontRunners businesses at this location. The service I received last week was so poor and so dismissive that I can only assume the location will be closing soon and the staff are taking their frustrations out on the customers. I am sorry for this loss. I went into the location midday on Thursday to buy a new pair of shoes. There were three other customers and two employees in the store when I arrived. Two of the customers checked out fairly quickly and one of those two customers chatted with the one staff member for the entire time I was in the shop. Nobody greeted me when I went in, I checked out the shoes found what I wanted to try, took a seat in front of the shoes and waited for about 15 minutes. I eventually got up and approached the other staff member who was actually working and asked if I could try on a pair of shoes. He replied that they were very busy, and that they would need some more time. When I was finally helped the shoe I asked about was not in stock. I miss the service that I used to get here, but like I said I can only assume that this location is already gone. read more
