Marshalls - Looks like a new store... lots of space and variety of products - Department Stores Near Me - Torrance, California

I have been here numerous times since the store opened. I typically go here for Christmas, birthday shopping, or when I need something for the house. They have 2 entrances, one in the front and one in the back. It can get overwhelming with the cramped aisles and so many people, especially around the weekends and holidays. To anyone who has anxiety or claustrophobia, do not go here on the holidays. But if you come in on a weekday evening or morning, you'll find that it's calmer. They also tend to stock their shipments around those days so you get first dibs on what's fresh at the store. And if you like hello kitty, Disney or other collectables. My pro-tip is to check the trash bins, baskets, and cabinets because sometimes, you'll find a hidden stash of items. One time, I opened a cabinet to find a hello kitty holiday mixing bowl. I ran to the register, past a group customers who did a double take and said "Where did she get that mixing bowl??" Now unfortunately, the only thing I dislike about this location is one of the shift leads or managers. Idk her name. She talks bad about the customers in front of other customers. The person she was speaking poorly of is, in my case, my mom! This happened around Summer of 2025. Now when my mom and I get in line, we always pay separately. We each buy our own items. So when they call us to a register we take turns on who goes first: sometimes it's me, sometimes it's her. It depends on who has the least items. It just so happens this time it was me and that I picked to go to the register with the manager or shift lead - what ever she was. She says hi and I say hello. She offers the store card. I say no thank you. Then she speaks into her microphone thing - "yah that lady that went to your register. Yah, she doesn't like me, she always lets someone else go in front of her so she doesn't go up to me. Can you believe that? I know." I turned to the register she was speaking of, and lo and behold, it was my mom. I try my best to keep a blank face as she's processing my transaction. Then I smile at her (which was very difficult to do). and say "have a great day." Then I go to my mom's register and say "HI MOM I'm done." Then when she was done we both walk back past her. The shift lead was shocked. And I turned and gave her a wonderful look that say a bunch of colorful things. Moral of the story: don't bad mouth other customers. wait until the break room or when you go home. I spoke to my mom afterwards and she said she has no clue who she even is. read more

The good: They're open at 9:30 which is earlier than Home Goods stores. I got $4.99 Hello Kitty wrapping paper here that was super cute! I also found a cute book shaped vase and other really trendy house items. I also got snacks for my kids here. There's always plenty of parking. They have a great selection of all things seasonal (holiday decor, etc). I also love Marshalls for phone cases and phone accessories. They have tons of Crocs options. The bad: I always end up buying more than I intended when I come here. I never have the latest iPhone model so I tend to find fewer options for phone cases for my phone. I wish they kept after Christmas sales for longer. The interesting: They're connected to the mall and are across from Dave and Busters arcade. Between the arcade and them are some coin operated kids machines that always gets my toddlers excited and unfortunately, requires me to leave Marshalls. read more

I've been here a few times. They have tons of items although I wished they had more selections in their kitchenware and food items. It's usually packed in here and the line area is so tight and claustrophobic. Perhaps faster service area so the line can flow more smoothly. Overall no real complaints as far as service goes, it's okay. My suggestion is better selection. ..but TONS of Christmas decor just in time for the holidays read more

writing this so I can remind myself to go to another location next time. it's so disorganized and slow at this location so I can see it being much worse when the holiday rush starts. I came to get a pair of sunglasses since mine broke and I couldn't find my backup pair. stock isn't great so not many options to begin with, and they are hidden in the back of the accessories section. one side isn't accessible with the mirror so it's annoying to go back and forth especially if you have a mobility disability. i found one pair that I would wear (and no other ones) but it didn't have a price tag and already had some blemishes on it. I lined up at the register and waited for a price check which took a ridiculous amount of time (not including the time we already waited). for reference it's Tuesday mid-afternoon so not really a busy time. the worst part? the cashier named Ian asked us at least 6 times if we wanted to open a credit card and tried every strategy to induce guilt/buyer fomo/whatever you want to call it. i get asking but my god he wouldn't shut up the entire time about it (and asked nothing else like how our experience was). he even held up my receipt blaming me for trying to pay "too early" because he wanted to take more time to convince me to open a credit card with him. i even told him i had an appointment I would be late to if he didn't just let me check out. literally the worst sales pitch ever and it was SO awkward. UGH. do yourself a favor and avoid this location, and at the very least Ian. read more

I frequent this Marshalls often, but after my last visit its left a bad taste in my mouth. I had gone to this location to bring back some items for a return/ credit. For the first item, I hand over the receipt and the manager says it's too old and refuses to credit or do anything about it. For the next item I mentioned I lost the receipt so she then says she can't help with it. What difference would it make if I had the receipt since she wouldn't honor the other receipt. Plus I've always been able to get credit for items that I no longer had the receipt for. The only item I could get a credit for was a recent purchase, which doesn't even make sense since it should have been a return to my credit card since it was under 30 days from the date of purchase. After all that, I went to look at the perfumes since I was already in the store. I had to press the button to get an associate to open the case to get the perfume since the fragrances are locked up. Guess who comes? Yes that manager with the terrible attitude. Then I proceed to tell her which fragrance I want. She asks for my name so that it can be held in the front. When I go to purchase that fragrance the cashier goes to get it on the back counter, then the manager proceeds to gossip about me to that cashier. Can this manager be any more unprofessional?! read more

I would give this Marshall's a 2.5 they had an amazing selection and amazing respectful cashiers however, I had a terrible experience with the employee in charge of the fitting rooms! Me and my grandma had a few items we wanted to try on separately she is elderly and doesn't speak good English. My grandma comes out of the fitting room with all the items which she decided she did not want with the hangers. My grandma proceeded to nicely place the clothes on the rack for the employee and the employee stared at my grandma and in a rude tone says " are you just going to stand there and NOT put the clothes back on the hanger" I completely was in shook! I've had years of experience in retail and have never spoke to a customer like that or have asked them to do MY job. I proceed to tell the employee how she doesn't have to be rude and it's apart of the job to do go backs and if she can't do it she simply shouldn't be working in retail she proceeded to raise her voice saying she isn't being rude and I just walked away. Now, she totally could've asked in a nice and respectful manner but the fact she was speaking to an elderly woman as such and on top of that telling people to do HER job. Do better pls!! read more

This may be my favorite Marshall's. It's part of the Del Amo Mall, with it's own entrance in the front. The back entrance takes you straight into the rest of the mall. Checkout counters on the right; clothes in the middle; shoes on the left; cosmetics and other personal products; socks; under garments; pajamas; toys; kitchen ware; bathroom accessories; pet supplies; you name it, they most likely sell it. The store looks amazing!!! When it first opened, I was sad the other closed because it had been there for years, it was a great location and so full of merchandise. This one was kinda sad, empty shelves etc, BUT... omg the store has grown so much, the shelves are bursting with merchandise and it's so organized! It looks great! It's even closer to my house, ok so just on the south end of the mall which is the dead side until they remodel but for now it's the best thing that end of the mall. Great job Marshall's on making this one of my favorite go-to stores for hair, skin, clothes, shoes, and random stuff I don't need but love. read more

This Marshall's location is attached to the far end of Del Amo mall next to Sears. It's a bit smaller and a little cramped, but it's worth looking through. Marshall's is usually a hit or miss, but I ALWAYS find something every single visit. I don't know why I don't shop at Marshall's more often. Their prices on merchandise are super affordable. The name brand things you find at the mall, you can find here for almost half off. On my most recent purchase, I scored myself 3 pairs of tennis shoes (2 Adidas and 1 Under Armour) for under $85!! And I found the bf a pair of Nike tennis shoes for $40. Yay me!! I've also purchased things like a backpack, socks, some tank tops and shorts. And don't even get me started on the beauty section. I could spend a whole day looking in just that one department. Like I said in the beginning, the store itself is smaller than other locations. Depending on what day and time you come in, the store may be in pristine condition or it could be a mess. Thankfully, I've never seen it too messy. I wasn't too impressed with their housewares section though. There wasn't much to look at and it was more random crap than anything else. The cashiers I have encountered seemed pretty nice. All in all, I like this Marshall's a lot and I know for a fact I'll be back again when I'm in town. read more

This is my favorite location. They used to have a much bigger space on the other side of the mall years ago but this space suits them well. They have a little more selection than their other torrance location but this is also bigger so it makes sense. Their selections seem to be nicer quality too. The employees here are nice. They don't talk to me too much when I'm walking around and check out is easy. Definitely buy a reusable tote bag by the registers when you go. They're larger than typical totes! read more

Today (5/3/18) was the grand opening of the new location on the southern end of the Del Amo Mall. The new location is between JoAnn and Sears, in a renovated building. The surrounding stores are either in renovation now or in dire need of renovation. This wing is sadly NOT the new and posh wing of the Del Amo mall. Though opening here now makes little sense, I gather, in the long run, Marshall's fits here next to less popular and more affordable JCPenney and Sears. The interior is bright and has high ceilings, making for a nicer shopping atmosphere. Being a new store, the items were well organized and the rows were clean. Not much selection for 2T-4T or sizes 5-8 kids. A DJ was playing music on opening day. And a few staff members were spinning a prize wheel and giving prizes away to TJM credit card holders. Good place to buy clothing, house wares and other gifts. Although it's owned by TJMaxx they definitely have nicer stuff here. It's very similar to HomeGoods except they have more clothes (HomeGoods has hardly any clothing), but worse house wares. It's a great place to buy Christmas gifts to give to friends, relatives, neighbors, etc. I would recommend coming here for clothing and gifts and going to HomeGoods for any kitchen, bath, bedding supplies. read more

What was so strange about this location was when I walked into one of the dressing rooms, there was no latch to close the door. So I went into another dressing room with clothing to try on and there was no hook to hang up the clothes. Where was I supposed to put them? On the floor? They need to perform some maintenance on the dressing rooms at this location. There may be some bargains here, but I left without purchasing anything. read more

Horrible, they announce that they were closing the gate which I had to get to to get to my car so I asked the cashiers upfront if I would still be able to get through the gate since I was paying right then and there and they said yes and then I proceeded to exit they had locked the gate and they said there was nothing they could do and that I should've said something when I had already let the cashiers know who radio at the person who was blocking the gate read more

I am giving this Marshall's a 1 star review for customer service. During check out, I wanted to leave an item I didn't want. I let the cashier know that I no longer wanted the item, however, she proceeded in saying that she could not void the item and would have to charge me for it. She was very pushy about not being able to void the item and said I would need to pay for it and do a return. And I sadly did exactly that. This incident took place on 11/11 around 12:30pm cashier #6. Little did I know it takes 3 to 5 business days for a reimbursement to reflect on my account. Take it from experience, if a staff member is lazy to void an item ask for a manager or ask to get checked out at another register. This staff definitely deserves a warning. She does not know peoples financial situation. Thankfully my account did not overdraft but imagine it did all because of her ignorance and laziness. read more

This is a HUGE Marshalls. While I did not find anything this time, my husband scored big time! Tons of nice designer shirts on sale at $20 each, he bought them all and with that his shopping is done for the season (Men are so simple...) Very clean and well kept, spacious, loaded with goods, TONS of clearance in both clothing and homegoods sections, all around a pretty damn good Marshalls worth checking out if you are in the area. I love this Marshalls! I just went here recently for their after Christmas sale and I had no idea the after Christmas stuff was going to be an extra 50% off since they were already marked down. I highly recommend coming here to buy some Christmas gifts for next Christmas! We had the sweetest cashier she said my boyfriends discount card would not work on the stuff I bought since it was already half off of clearance items so she did a separate transaction for the non clearance items! It also very clean and the clearance section was neatly organized making it a lot easier and enjoyable to shop. The restrooms are also very clean! read more

I like the location of this Marshall's is connect to the Del Amo shopping center on Carson street. The cashiers and the floor team are friendly and helpful. The store has great selection for women clothing and accessories for all the seasons. The men are not that lucky their space is small and limited to styles. For kids the selection are great from shoes, clothing and accessories. The home is special at this store it takes the back portion of the store, it has all you can buy for your home from bed sheets to Glassware and living room chairs. This Marshall's is one of my favorite since the keep the staff keep the store in great shape. ( The best time time buy here is mon-fri the waiting line is less then 5min) Tip: this store has it's private lot. read more

My most recent visit stood out to me in particular due to a wonderful dressing room attendant I believe her name was Maureen. She had such a warming welcome and a genuinely positive attitude. If you're willing to brave the time-sucking checkout lines, you can take advantage of the recent economic downturn and make like a bandit with plenty of steals. I heard a rumor that Marshalls started to carry items from the Penguin by Musingwear brand, and stopped by to check it out. I've never even seen Penguin items on sale at department stores or their own retail stores, so this was quite the rumor. Sure enough, Marshalls is carrying quite a bit of inventory from higher-end brands. It might not be a bad idea to stop by a Marshalls location as the kick-off to your next shopping excursion, you might be able to come away with some surprising bargains. Well, that is if you can find parking. It's adjacent positioning to the new Del Amo promenade has created a pretty horrible parking situation. You might be better off just resigning from the start and walking the 200 yards from a parking spot in the boonies. read more

Wow. I never liked this Marshalls because it's so messy, and the employees can be rude. I went today because i had a doctors appointment right next to this area. I had to return something but couldn't find the receipt. I made this purchase during the holidays, decided it wasn't going to match my house decor and will wait to return it after the holidays because I don't want to deal with the holiday shoppers. Well...in the midsts of all the holiday craze I lost the receipt but knew I could get store credit. I went in and told Maria B. That I didn't have the receipt but would like to return this and get store credit. She gave me a smug look and said "You can't return this without a receipt" and I told her that I checked the return policy and even called and spoke to someone to confirm prior to coming in due to the fact that the items I'm returning were holiday decor items, and she told me that I could return them, I just needed my ID. Maria proceeds to tell me that on the bottom of the receipt it says that I need a receipt. So I literally had to pull up the return policy on my phone and show her that it says I can get store credit for returns without a receipt . All of a sudden she says "Yes I know." Ummm well...then why are you giving me a hard time???? The gentleman next to me said that the same thing happened to him just now and they wouldn't let him return a jacket that still had all the tags on it. Managers...please train your employees on customer service, because Maria represented your company terribly. 1) Don't ever look at your customer with a smug/sarcastic look 2) Don't talk to customers like they're idiots (because I assure you I'm not an idiot) 3) Be appreciative that people are coming to your store otherwise your location would be closed (as it should be since it's so messy and your employees are terrible) The employees at the Marshalls location off of Hawthorne next to Homegoods and Walmart have EXCEPTIONAL customer service, always greet you with a smile on their face and even offer to get you a cart if you need it. There us a lot of items with out the price tag, it is a hassle to look for an employee to find out the cost of an item
