I can here today with the intention of finding a stylish suit that I can use for an upcoming wedding and business meetings however I had no idea where to start. I walked in and was greeted immediately walking into the store by Jimmy. He did a great job explaining how a suit should fit and on top of that he went out of his way to help me get what I want even though he was busy with other customers. Be cautious of their misleading advertising. I purchased a shirt on sale for $59.99, advertised as 50% off. After applying my $30 rewards, I expected to pay only the remaining $30 plus tax. However, I was charged an additional $9.90, making my total $39.90. When I questioned the cashier about the discrepancy before leaving the store, I was told that their "2-minute window for reimbursement" had passed, so they couldn't issue a refund or adjustment. My only option was to return the shirt, which would refund only $9.90, resulting in a loss of my $30 reward. read more

Very rude when you have kids. Immediately when we walked in, they were starring at my son that was not welcoming. They basically kept an eye on him. My two year old was sliding the clothes that are hanging while my wife was looking. Not even taking the clothes off of the hangers. Just sliding them over on the same rack. One of the workers came over and literally slid the clothes hanging by less than an inch and ask my son, what's going on. Express is going out of business and this is how they are with kids. I enjoy browsing and of course looking for the best deals. Still to this day I find myself being an online shopper versus in store. It seems like online has a better variety and a better clearance section if you ask me. Express should up there game by allowing customers to apply promo codes on items in clearance section as well. My husband was searching for a last minute suit for our wedding. We were immediately greeted by Jimmy who helped him out with sizing, style and color choice. Never buying from express again. Long story short, i didnt read my return policy when purchasing my suit. But i asked the clerk when purchasing, she said its a 90 day return policy so i believed her. Granted, I should have read the receipt (at the time it was a 60 day return policy). So i ended up missing the return window by a few days when trying to return the item. Obviously theyre not willing to do anything for you, b/c F the customer and their problems. Please properly inform your clerks about store/company policies...? This is the nicest Express that I've been in! Its super big and has a lot of clothes. The clothes are super cute and comfortable but cost a little too much. Everything ranges from $80-$108. I wish they had more sales. I will continue to shop here but it hurts my wallet everytime. I usually buy business clothes here. They need to also expand their shoe selection. The dressing rooms are large and very clean. The staff are friendly but not very helpful, and there's not many staff members. read more

The EDITOR pant has evolved again, now with a "Studio Stretch Wide" waistband. i'm not loving it as much as the classic Editor, which i hope they are not phasing out, cuz i couldn't find any at this location. The nice sales girl warned me that these new editor pants wear large, so if you're a 6, best try a size 4 etc... so on... i'm gonna write to the designers of these pants and tell them, they need to bring back the old classic Editor with a top secret super stretchy waistband that contours to how much you have eaten instead of closing in on your poor tummy after your yelp happy meal. perhaps they can call it the Jolie D. you with me? read more

The store has regular suits, slim fit suits, and then the best of all, Extra slim fit suits w/ a performance feature (elasticity and give). One of the best Express locations in the area! They definitely have the best selection of new items and are the biggest store in the South Bay. The location is super convenient because it's at the Del Amo mall in Torrance, where lots of other similar store are located. I've found a lot of great items on sale there. My husband and I waited in line this past Saturday for 30 minutes while the girl at the cash helped some chick place an "online order"- we ended up walking out because we had a baby that needed to eat. They weren't even apologetic and the line was so long. That's when the manager should stop standing at the front and run back and open another cash register and help out. But whatever. We needed the shirt so we went back later to pick it up. Waited in line again and ended up leaving with the security tag on it!!!!!! Figured it out when we walked into another store and beeped. They were doing a 40% off sale on the entire store! Watch out for those. I really liked this store...after the remodel it looks so modern and is probably the biggest Express I've ever been in. Tons of clothes for both genders and I was really impressed with the selections. I did a return on some pants and the lady was very courteous and professional. I did take advantage of the 40% off safe and picked up some dress socks with battleships on them for my BF. They were about $7 with tax after the sale. Not bad! read more

***This review is for the new location after the renovation. I just had the best shopping experience of my life at Express in Del Amo mall! Many know that I HATE shopping for clothes, and being that my clothing purchases in the last 2 years have consisted mainly of graphic tanks and derby gear - this was desperately needed. Their associate Priscilla is my HERO as she not only listened to me but instantly became my personal shopper, connected with me, and helped me find a combo of items I would typically like along with several things I never knew I would love. I'm talking jean & work pants shopping, which is usually the worst! This experience happened on a Saturday, and I got there right at opening (10am). They get very busy, so go early or pick a weekday and you will have a much easier time getting personal attention like this. Thank you Priscilla, you're the best! read more

This Express seems to consistently be out of "normal" sizes of their clothing - meaning everything is Extra Small or Extra Large and never the small-medium sizes. This Express now also carries the Express mens line. Which means that the fitting rooms are co-ed. The sales associates at this Express are not helpful. When you ask them a question they get really defensive. I actually has to say to one of them, "Look, I don't know the answer and so that is why I am asking you". Anything from coupons to what is available online to asking their opinion on an outfit, they could not (or was not willing) to answer. I was also entitled to a $25 coupon off of a future purchase since I spent over $50 and I never got it since the associate was a ding dong. Go to the store in the South Bay Galleria or even better shop online, especially if you know your size since the best selections and sizes are there. It gets 2 stars since it's not like I'll never go into the store again. If I'm at the mall and have the need to go into Express, I will. I just won't be making the effort to go to this store as a destination. read more

Julian working in menswear was absolutely PHENOMENAL. My boyfriend and I came in to look for clothes for a wedding, and Julian immediately offered assistance and information above and beyond what we were expecting. Neither my bf nor myself know too much about formal menswear, but Julian gave us his opinions and sizing advice and answered every single one of our questions. He continued to check in on us as we shopped too to make sure we were comfortable. Honestly my best retail experience ever, and I wasn't even the one looking for clothes. And I typically hate shopping. He was just so kind and friendly- just a really cool, sweet person on top of being an excellent customer service provider. Terrible experience terrible service... I went to the express in the Del AMo Fashion center to find an a outfit for my birthday this weekend. I asked the cashier about the email I received promoting the labor day sale 40% off that clearly states starting today. The employee acted like I was inconveniencing her by asking and showing her the email. It appeared that the manager was on the phone behind the cash wrap and overheard the conversation but said nothing. My husband was irritated and waited patiently to ask for clarity on the promo. They didn't honor the 40% off promotion... that's fine because he dress I wanted was signed with a 40% off sign "dresses 40% off". When I went to purchase the dress they charge me full price. Once again the cashier could care less that the sign was incorrect and didn't honor the price. Needless to say they were not trying to make a sale they were not friendly and they don't care about customer loyalty. Retail is hard enough these employees are not good for business. This shows me poor management should be looked into. read more

I went into Express Men and Julien introduced himself as soon as I walked in. I told him exactly what I wanted and that I only had 15 minutes. He put all the different color shirts in front of me and I picked the ones I wanted. Everything fit perfectly when I got home. Julien was quick, personable, did his job, and was never pushy. He's a great salesman as he got me to buy a few more things on the way out. Definitely a great asset. I told him he should go into banking with the drive and personality he has. 5 STARS read more

Best place ever when I receive coupons in the mail. I can't stay away when they have the buy one get one half off. Nice asian girl helped me find what I needed and even convinced me to try something that I thought was too trendy (and have gotten compliments) This place is so nice to shop at when it's a weekday and everyone else is at work. I do not like the fact that I had to do that since the store didn't carry them, and it was a hassle to order several to find the right fit. However, Julian at the store made the return a breeze. Their holiday team is the worst retail team I have ever encountered. There was a "greeter" that not greeted. Instead stood close to the entrance and was just standing there. It was pretty scary honestly. I thought it was probably a psychopath then realized she was an employee. Woman at the fitting room looked like an 18 year old black woman completely ignored me I asked her where I can leave the clothes I didn't like. She seriously looked away and proceeded to fix the shirt in front of her. Another lady had to grab the clothes from me. I literally had $300 worth of clothing I was about to purchase but considering how messy the store was and how bad the attitude of the people that worked here was I just put it down and walked out. Yay yay shopping is always nice! And express has what I need the sizes and styles always work best for me especially because they seem to do pretty good at carrying xs sizes for men AWESOME!! So many pretty clothes it's always hard to chose what I want, even if I already knew what I wanted my mind always gets confused with the amount of options. Anyways I have been to other express locations and for whatever reason some express stores seem to have rude and bland associates but certainly not this one. Got my Christmas Eve outfit today (on screaming deal Saturday the Saturday before Christmas) and everyone there was very helpful and nice. I had the most negative shopping experience at this Express location! Never had i met a worker who was unprofessional, had bad attitude, and blatantly ignored my questions. She is the Assistant Manager at the store and her name is Jennifer Rodriguez. I went into the Express store at Del Amo Mall (Store 020827) in Torrance and was looking specifically to purchase a red cocktail dress. I found it in the correct size and went to buy it. When I got to Jennifer's register, she was not helpful when I asked her how the 20% discount worked and if it was added onto the redtag dress item. She didnt answer the question and scanned the dress pretending not to hear me. After she scanned it, she told me what the price was. I told her I had an additional 15% card on top of the price and she said "It doesnt work with this!" (in a demeaning manner like she was the authority and was always right). I explained to her that I had asked another worker earlier and he had said it did work. She hastily took the card and then added it on. But by that time, I asked her again about the breakdown but she looked at me irritated and then just told me the scanned price, not the breakdown (which was what i had asked for!). At the end, I wanted to talk to the Store manager about Jennifer's attitude and I asked her who it was. She said "its me" in an attitude that was saying "what are you going to do about it because Im the authority here!" I will NEVER go back to that store!! read more

Worst service EVER!!!!! It doesn't even matter if you are an A-list customer and spend a lot of money at their store which I won't be doing anymore! I bought a tank top and I was very excited to wear it for a special occasion. I got home put it on and the cashier left the security sensor on it. So I wasn't able to wear it to my special event. I took it back when I could fit in with my very busy schedule with my receipt and asked to speak with a manager, I felt it was unacceptable for the sensor to be left on the tank especially when the cashier that rang me up answered the store phone and ignored me. The manager was not very polite and barely apologized. All he said was I can return it for you! Terrible terrible customer service!!! All the sales associates here are rude and slow making transactions. You ask them for help finding an item and it's like you're bothering them. Before in the old Express store before this overrated mall remodeled, they were nicer, friendlier, and always welcome to help you and greet you and say "Welcome to Express" when you walk in. Those sales girls today in this new Express store do not even pay attention to their customers while they are making their transaction. They just talk to their fellow co-worker while they are ringing your items up and don't even ask you anymore if you found everything okay. The past workers in the old Express were friendly and cared about their customers and if they were folding or fixing the clothing and other merchandise and you were browsing near them they always asked you if you need any help finding something. Now if you walk in they just mind their own business and ignore you. Their selection as well is detestable. You can find more variety of clothing on Express.com than in that particular store. All their clothing too looks like clothing for hookers. The sales lady who rang me up was very rude and didn't even pay any attention to me and was just talking to her co worker who was ringing up another customer. It's like she didn't even know what she was doing, how many times she let me swipe my card--about 5 times and by the 5th it finally went through. It took more than 10 minutes for her to ring me up. I was pissed off at her I grabbed the merchandise bag and stormed off from that horrible store. She said have a great day when it was already 8:35 at night, shows she didn't appreciate my business. If she truly did, she should have said thank you and sorry about the complications and have a good night. NEVER COMING TO THIS PARTICULAR EXPRESS EVER AGAIN. EVERY EXPRESS STORE IS HORRIBLE NOW BUT ESPECIALLY THIS ONE. From now on, if I want to shop at Express--I just go online since they have a nice selection of styles and sizes. read more

Cesar is awesome! My husband and I went to four different Express stores trying to look for this one particular shirt in his size and the associates at those stores said they were all sold out. That whatever was out, was all they had. Cesar was surprised as to why they didn't offer to have this item shipped. He easily found the exact item online and set everything up for us.
