Great range of choices, the ceviche was terrific, which, I had resigned myself to the thought that ceviche should only be eaten in California, so that turned out to be a great surprise. We've eaten here a few times since they opened and enjoyed the service and food. Tonight we were out and decided to go again and tried to call ahead for seating. We were told they don't have call ahead seating and the wait was 15 minutes. Upon arrival we saw dozens (literally) of empty tables throughout the restaurant and patio but were told they were for people with reservations at 6:00PM. We put our name's on the waiting list but thought it odd with so many open tables. There is a Carrabba's 3 buildings down so we called and got seated immediately when we walked down. Maybe it's me but I think Bonefish might want to rethink their seating policy. So much for a spur of the moment eating decision. BTW, Carrabba's was excellent as usual. read more

Traveling for work and this was within walking distance of my hotel. I like the Bonefish Grill at home. Net, this one was ok but not as great as home town. Got the Hooked on Tuesday which is a phenomenal value: cod Piccata, house salad, and coconut pie for $16.90. Menu description said cod was crispy but it was not and it was surprisingly bland. Got sautéed spinach and potatoes at gratin as sides. Potatoes were good but I think they completely forgot to season the spinach. House salad had some interesting ingredients and nice citrus dressing. Coconut pie was decadent, caloric, and delicious as expected. Server was friendly and energetic. Would come again if here for work in future but would not order cod piccata. read more

We made a reservation. Once arrived, we were sitted 30 min later in a booth which was extremly tight for 6 ( average) adults. Asked to sit at the table, had to wait another 30 min but decided to stay in a booth. 40 min after our order was taken, manager came to the table, brought us the menu again and said that they are out of tuna which 2 people of our group ordered. We could not get our waitress attention to take a new order for another 20 min and when she came to the table she was clueless about the fact that our order was cancelled. After another 40 min of wait finally our order arrived. Shrimps and scallops which my friend and myself ordered were completely overcoocked and burned .They were not edible.Looks like they were re-heated while other mixed up order was prepared. We were brought few extra fresh made shrimps after we complained. The last " drop" was our bill...We were charged for tuna orders which were canceled for us but thankfully they did not charge us for shrimps and scallops. On top of all that, would like to mention about the dirthy plates that were piling on the table during the entire dinner. Overall terrible experinece. Will never go there again. read more

Trying something new. Writing as I experience this place. So far Hostess has a little attitude. Don't know why. But waitress is really pleasant. Bread is warm and pesto olive oil is tasty. No lemonade or Arnold Palmers here. It's either juice water or alcoholic beverages. Grill Chilean sea bass is perfectly cooked and fine tasting. Not screaming with seasoning. sautéed green beans are perfect. Jasmine rice could use some unsticking and is over cooked. It's all good folks. Started with 3 stars ends up with 4. We celebrated our 28 year wedding anniversary here last night. The food and drink was very tasty. The customer service was poor. Some background... Our family unit requires special dietary requirements. Specifically gluten free. I searched on yelp to find the right spot to celebrate. The menu shown online was exactly what we were interested in. I made reservations on line, stating the reason for our visit. It was SUPPOSED to be 6:30pm. We arrived at 6:31 and were told that we had to wait while they cleared a table... we thought we had RESERVATIONS... I guess that meant that we had to wait to be seated next to the kitchen, literally. I suppose that it's better than next to the bathroom? Our server, Taylor, introduce herself and saw gifts on the table. She inquired what we were celebrating. (Why ask the reason for the celebration during the online reservation process if it will be ignored?). Taylor's response was surprised and somewhat cordial. That being said, knowing that we were in her place of business celebrating a meaningful family moment, her customer service was nearly negligent. We seemed to confuse her when asking about the food items offered on the menu. She did a poor job of explaining what our choices were. Our cocktails were presented by a different server...I had to ask a different server for the delicious looking complimentary bread, which was delivered by a different server...our meal was presented by a different server... Taylor did show up during the meal to inquire "how everything was?" I want you to know, the cocktails, meal, and dessert was very very good. We ate it all. And normally l would recommend the restaurant...but... Taylor never reappeared to offer additional cocktails, bread or anything. As we sat between courses, we watched the management staff( a man and woman dressed in black) bustling through the dining area taking care of customers and clearing tables, and generally looking busy and managing to ignore our table full of spent dining plates, glasses and service wear. When (yet again) a different server brought dessert to our cluttered table I had to request the table be cleared BEFORE dessert was served. Taylor showed up to take the bill and she did manage to find a small box of candy to give us as a reward for dining at Bonefish Restaurant, Troy, MI. This was our experience. Shame on you for your poor customer service. I can not IMAGINE a situation where we will spend our $$$$$ or celebrate any family moments in this poorly run eatery. read more

Don't waste your money or time at Bonefish Grill! We had reservations to celebrate a graduation at 7pm today, Sunday. I'm just going to list things... They didn't have the proper ingredients to make one of their signature drinks! The lemonade was so sweet it couldn't be consumed. The strawberry daiquiri came without strawberries. The pineapple martini was pretty good but the pineapple wedge was brown, dry and unappetizing. The waitressing (there were 2) was the worst I have experienced. They never refilled coffee, water or beverages. They only cleared dirty dishes when I complained. One had a bad attitude from the get go. We finally got bread but it was three small loaves for 14 people. We had to ask for more and got one more loaf... no butter. It took 45 minutes to get appetizers that were mediocre- rubbery calamari, bang bang shrimp covered in thousand island dressing and cold- Corn chowder was ok. We waited 1hour and 20 minutes for food to come out yayyyy. ..OOPS we got 4 dinners then nothing. 20 minutes later we get a few more. Then they stopped coming. It turns out that they had sent one meal to the wrong table and the waitresses never noticed that not everyone had food. It took 2 complaints to the manager..one to get any food, the other to get food for everyone. Now for the food- they ran out of sirloin, one filet minion was very undercooked while one overcooked, one tilapia was inedible and returned while one was way overcooked, The salmon was overcooked and dry. Portion sizes were very small. No water refills, no coffee refills, cream for coffee came in a tiny amount to be shared between everyone. We got there at 7 and finally escaped at 10:15. That's a whole lot of sitting and waiting and waiting and waiting for poor, overpriced food and terrible service. I will not return, ever! read more

I've been to several different Bonefish Grill locations in different states, but this location is definitely the worst. Over the last year we have been to this location 4 times but this past Sunday (June 26th @ 2 p.m.) was the last. It has gotten consistently worse each time. i ordered a lemon drop martini. I didn't taste like the ones I have had at other locations. Barely any alcohol. We placed an order for Bang Bang Shrimp. For my meal I ordered the 6 ounce fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I also ordered a cup of corn chowder as did my husband. A few minutes later the chowder arrived. No Bang Bang Shrimp yet. We tasted the chowder and it was cold. Not just warm, but cold. We flagged down our server and she said they just "pulled it out" so it must need to be warmed up. She returned with the shrimp and the soup at the same time. The soup was warmer but not hot. The shrimp tasted as good as usual. Then our bread arrived. Are you seeing a trend here? A few minutes later, our meals arrived. My fillet was about a half an inch thick. My potatoes and asparagus were just warm. I ordered the fillet cooked medium. It was like cutting into shoe leather. I took three small bites and I was done. Our server finally came by and asked how it was going. She also mentioned that she had a large table that was keeping her busy. I proceeded to tell her that this was the worst fillet I have ever had and while I was at it, I told her about the martini. She wanted to know what she could bring me to eat. I told her nothing. She did take the meal and the drink off the bill. However, why would I go back? Next time I need a Bonefish fix we'll head to the Novi location where we have never had an issue. read more

It's Valentine's Day. I made a reservation for this important day an entire week ahead of time, thereby guaranteeing (or at least I hoped) a stress free night with my significant other. However, as soon as I stepped inside the establishment my hopes were shattered. We were told the restaurant was running 60 minutes behind on reservations. My significant other, being the optimist, kind hearted person that she is, convinced me to remain patient as we stood and waited for over 75 minutes to be seated. The kindness of our waiter and quality of the food was unfortunately not enough to salvage this night I had awaited for so long. Never again do I intended on returning on a restaurant that has no consideration and respect for customers who set up reservations for the very purpose of not having their time wasted. It's been a pleasure, Bonefish Grill, but from now on I will only visit this decaying franchise on my yearly spring break trips to Florida, where e service is considerably better. read more

This was my second time at Bonefish Grill and my experience really was over- the- top good. I was celebrating my birthday with some friends and our server Suzanna made me feel very special from the start. She knew the menu inside and out and recommended some really good options. I had a very yummy and unique pomegranate martini to start with and went with the pecan encrusted trout which turned out to be super delicious. Each of my four friends really enjoyed their meals as well. Suzanna took excellent care of all of us and even surprised me with a beautiful bday cheesecake at the end. This went from being one of my favorite restaurants to one I may never go back to all because of our Mother's Day experience. We had reservations at 6:45. Didn't get seated until 7:45. Then waited until 8 to even get water. We promptly ordered an appetizer and our meals along with drinks from the bar. Waited another 15 for the drinks. Then salads came out before the appetizer. My husband ordered the filet and was not even asked how he wanted it cooked. It was of course way over done. We had to flag down our waiter for more water, more drinks and one of the sides that was forgotten. He never bothered to check back nor did anyone else ask how our meals were. The rest of the food was quite good which is why I am giving 2 stars, not 1. So very disappointed in how absolutely poorly managed, unorganized and slow the service was. I expect more especially on a special day where Mother's should be enjoying themselves and not stressed out. read more

It was our first (and probably last) time there. The food wasn't bad. It was a bit bland and we all tried samplings from each other's dishes (all seafood dishes). And I don't think you should have to fry your food for flavoring. The service was not good at all which is reason enough not to go back. The hostess seemed bored to be there, almost as though we were inconveniencing her and our server didn't know the menu enough and took long in getting to us. He also never checked on us so we "borrowed" another server to help us get refills and the check. The restaurant was half full at the time so they can't blame it on a rush of patrons. I visited this restaurant on Saturday, March 24, 2018 to celebrate my husband's birthday. The FREE dessert was so insulting that I would rather have paid for the dessert. The slice of cheesecake was barely enough to feed a 2 year old. I called the Manager upon arriving home and spoke with the manager regarding this and was informed maybe some of it fell off. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE - while they may be known for their bang-bang shrimp they really gave me a bang with this dessert. I regret not looking at the dessert before we left the restaurant and we had a rather hefty food bill. read more

This places service is a joke! Today was my first & frankly last time I will go eat at this restaurant. The wait staff leaves dirty plates on your table until after you check out and the manager walks around with her head up in the air no bother asking her customers how their meal was. Any other restaurant I've been to the manager on duty makes a point to check on their customers & asks how was the food. It was good, but far from great. The restaurant itself was nice and clean. Our server was friendly, but almost over the top. His trainee has some work to do. The wine choices were pretty standard and average price. My wife enjoyed her cosmopolitan. We had the shrimp bang bang as an appetizer - it was fantastic! Best part of the meal. My wife and I each did the Tuesday 3 course deal. The house salad was good, but a couple more olives would be nice. The main was not good. We each had the lobster - over cooked, rubbery. They forgot the butter at first, and wasn't hot/liquid when they did bring it out. The garlic whipped potatoes where underwhelming, sort of bland. I had the sautéed spinach. Terrible, no seasoning at all. My wife had the green beans, no seasoning, and the tough ends weren't trimmed off (I know that can be chef preference). I really liked my cheesecake with raspberry sauce. But my wife, who loves dessert and coconut, did not like the coconut pie/dessert. The meal deal was good, but the prices on the rest of the menu were a bit high. Overall, I would go back, but I wouldn't seek out going there. read more

Nice restaurant, good service. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai--BIG MISTAKE, the noodles were overcooked and gummy, the shrimp small and rubbery and I could not taste any peanuts. One of my favorite spots for a good fish dinner. I went specifically for the Soft-Shelled Crab and it is a very short season. The special ran out, but the wonderful staff and management knew that there was a party of three who specially made a reservation for the soft-shelled crab. I'll start by saying I LOVE bonefish grille's food, I really do. That's the only reason they even get three stars. I've been to a few different locations but the service at this one is consistently terrible. Our first time was ok, it took a while to figure out who our server was but once we did, she was great. And they gave us a free order of mussels to compensate. The second time was terrible. It was a Monday holiday and when we got there at 6 the restaurant was empty but they told us it would be an hour wait for the servers to come in. We decided to sit at the bar and then found out they had the bartender running three tables in the main dining room AND tending bar. The poor guy was really great at trying to keep up, but come on. Asking your bartender to serve tables in the main dining room means he's going to get crap tips from all his bar patrons AND his tables. After that experience we were turned off, but in honor of the food we gave it another try with friends. Again- service terrible. We got there early and ordered drinks that took almost 30 minutes to find their way to the table. They left our dirty appetizer plates on the table as they served our dinner and then we waited twenty minutes for the check. I can't say any of this was a single servers' fault, I know bonefish uses separate food and drink runners and they SHOULD have bus boys/girls, but it seems like the whole thing is either too overwhelmed or not well orchestrated. read more

I did a lot of research of restaurants before choosing Bonefish for our anniversary dinner. I ended up choosing Bonefish because the reviews were outstanding. Well, this restaurant did not disappoint! We went on a Friday night at 6 and had a reservation. We were seated right away. I called to ask if we could wear jeans, they said yes but we felt under dressed. We had the Bam Bam shrimp as an appetizer as it came highly recommended. It was out of this world! Our entrees came out timely, hot and correct. Our service was excellent! On our way out they gave us each a box of chocolates to celebrate our anniversary. Overall it was a fantastic experience. I would both recommend the restaurant and return in the future. read more

I was very excited to try this place out and excited that it was going to be with a couple friends I don't get to have dinner with very often. In my Opinion, if a restaurant knows that their air conditioner is broken, they should be upfront with the customers when they come in to be seated. I know that by doing this, they might lose business. But it would also show that their customers are their top priority and not just making money. Even though yesterday was pretty much our first nice day, it made for a very uncomfortable dinner. I felt like I didn't get to really enjoy my food because I was too busy sweating. I can only imagine how the staff felt as they all had long sleeves on and busting their butts. Unfortunately the restaurant lost money on us as well because we ended up not staying longer and chatting. We all just wanted to get out of there so we could cool down. Word to the wise to this restaurant and others, be up front and honest. I don't plan on going back. read more

The food and drinks are great, but the layout is terrible. You can't get your car close to the entrance so if it's raining, plan on getting soaked. Pros: - Atmosphere/ample parking - Fast seating time, food arrived in a timely manner - Food taste is OK (I'll explain later) - Attentive "owner" and hostesses - Waitress boxed our meal with detailed information written on top (what we ordered, date, etc.), which is very helpful Con's: For the food and quality, it was overpriced ($90 for the two of us total). Server was slow in refilling water (boyfriend's cup was empty 4x, my cup was empty once which is significant as I barely drink water during my meals). The house bread wasn't served to us at all and was not mentioned to us, so we had to request it. Comments: The sashimi (implies completely raw) appetizer should really be named "seared ahi" instead as that's what it really is. It was $17 and the fish quality wasn't fresh, so it barely had any taste (I understand as it's MI so fresh ahi is limited and it's a chain restaurant). However, we did enjoy fresh yummy ahi from Asahi restauraunt in Clinton Twp for less. Perhaps we have exceptional service where we are from, but it was an anniversary dinner and at the Cheesecake factory (back at home), they have always wrote "Happy Anni!" on the dessert plate we order or other congratulatory message for others making everyone's dining experiences special (It's a plus also when taking pics of food). At least the owner stopped by to tell us "Happy Anniversary" and gave us "exclusive" chocolates to enjoy. It was a bit of a false advertisement seeing that he disbursed the chocolate boxes to every table. P.S. We did not know this was a chain restaurant beforehand and seeing that it was in an upperscale neighborhood for the price, we expected a little more from the taste of the food and service. read more
