Very disappointed from our previous visit. So I'm updating my feelings on this location. Issues: -Waited close to 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the host check-in. Had a 630 reservation and ultimately were "late" to be seated and missed checking in for happy hour drinks. -Sat for about 10 more minutes before getting greeted and receiving water -Dishes took a really long time to come out (seemed to be short staffed, many tables were empty in the dining room though) -We were assumed to want a bowl of chowder which we were charged extra for, didn't realize until we got the bill -Oscar Cod I ordered had mushy asparagus and was give MUSHY MINUTE RICE. Was very upset about this and notified my server and was told that's all they have. Unacceptable, don't even bother serving rice if it's going to be like that. -Wife's Salmon was incredibly small. The portion of broccoli was the biggest thing on the plate. -Reservation was for our anniversary, we were not acknowledged about it and while not expected to get anything free, nothing was offered to us either. Huge let down here. We've been here a few times and have seen the quality of service just get worse and worse with each visit. Bonefish needs to definitely step it up at this location, this was a really poor showing, especially for a special occasion. read more

Exceptional seafood - their butterfish with rice and broccoli was superb - as well as desserts and appetizers. Got their corn chowder soup which was great and also their coconut pie. We came here for my birthday and they had the seasonal crab leg special. At first mine came out with a lot of little weird bumps on it. The waitress sent it back and it took FoREVER to remake. The food was delicious! We started with the Bonefish Grill favorite, according to the menu, the Bang Bang Shrimp which was very flavorful. It did not disappoint! We then moved on to the special Caribbean Plank Salmon with garlic potatoes and sautéed spinach plus Blackened Baja Fish Tacos and Fries. My sorority sister and joined the clean plate club! We finished with two spoons for the Macadamia Nut Brownie with raspberry sauce, accompanied with ice cream and whipped cream. The staff was excellent 1) from making reservations (highly recommended), 2) the hostess that greeted us and 3) our server, Jaylyn. Jaylyn was exceptional with her service all while also serving a very large party (over 20 people) and other tables. I received four drink refills without having to request them. Bravo Jaylyn! I think the white bonefish tops with the ink pen holder built in the sleeve is a nice look. The ambiance is nice with candles and linen/paper table covers. To arrive during daylight and leave after sunset, the candles give the restaurant a nice aura. This was my first visit to Bonefish Grill! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

It was my friend's idea to come here for dinner last night and that was a great decision. not only was the food good, the vibes were also great. My bartender, Sarah, was a dream. I would come back just for her service. We got there at the end of happy hour but we still managed to get in a couple things. We both got the happy hour margaritas and they were cool. We got the happy hour bang bang shrimp and the portion is amazing. Those are worth a try. For entrees, I got the imperial cod with mashed potatoes and rice and my friend got the Lilys chicken with Brussels. The cod and mashed potatoes were delicious. Very well seasoned. Very much what I would expect from a place that is seafood focused. The chicken, not so much. The chicken was unseasoned and the texture of the goat cheese was a little off putting. We had planned to get a after-dinner drink and dessert as we were celebrating 2 birthdays and our first night out in YEARS...we wanted to go back ot our old date spot. It was very disappointing to be repeatedly forgotten about. We had to ask for our check after giving up on getting dessert due to the repeated extensive delays. When I first arrived, I loved the ambiance of the restaurant, the dim lighting, and dining area wasn't huge, but nice enough space, and the bar area was nice. Both the hostess and our waitress was very nice and professional. We had a party of 4, and the food was timely, and everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered the Corn Chowder and Lump Crab Soup, Fish & Chips, and Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts. I also ordered the Coconut Crush drink off of the Happy Hour menu. Went to their 25 years of Bone Fish grill event. We arrived at host stand where the staff seemed dazed and cunfused. They could not find our reservation even that I had confirmed the reservation 2 hours earlier. The tried to squeeze us into a large table with others. If there would've been roo it wouldn't be a problem. After speaking with manager, we were sat at a table with plenty of room. Unfortunately things really never improved. Plating was very inconsistent, portion size varied widely. Some plates had portion size twice the size as others at the same table. ie - A shrimp dish came with 3 shrimp on one and only one shrimp on the ohther. Most all the food was cold. First time eating here. Made reservations for 5:30pn on a Saturday, but honestly didn't need them, the place was empty when we arrived. It did take awhile for our waitress to come. When she didn't she took our drink orders and left, still took some time for her to come back and she just brought back water. She said there were alot of tickets at the bar for drink orders. But it wasn't busy in there at all. Anyways, finally got our drinks and we placed our appetizers and dish orders. It did take longer then expected to receive a couple salads and lobster bisque and the Imperial dip, but before we could finish that our meals did come out. Out water was empty and had to ask for refills. Our waitress came over at the end of our meal to ask if we wanted desserts, forgetting one person at out table ordered the 3 course meal. So we had to remind her of the dessert that went along with with it Then as we were leaving we noticed all the tables had bread and oil. We were never given bread and oil! We ran out of water! They were taking reservations that hadn't been there. Could be that they need more training from management to bar staff. I can definitely say I won't be returning any time soon. I was there for a prefix bourbon cocktail and dinner pairing experience last night. I didn't care for the first drink and realized that the bourbon tasting was probably not going to be to my liking (not because anything was wrong with the drinks, but I just didn't like the flavor of bourbon - and alcohol with which I had no previous familiarity) and asked for a menu. I didn't complain about the drinks. I didn't ask for any money back on the menu. I was there for an experience and learn from the first step that bourbon was just not my thing. So, I asked for a menu but I was told by a waitress that I could not see a menu. When I asked to speak with a manager, the owner came over and told me the same thing. I reiterated that i wanted to order something off the menu for which I would pay the additional cost of the item since I wasn't sure if I was being told no because they thought I expected my additional order to be included within the prefixe meal, which I did not. The owner repeated that I could not order anything else off-menu. He did offer some alternatives, such as swapping out the featured cocktails for other alcoholic beverages. But I probably have only about 10 alcoholic beverages a year. I wasn't looking for more alcohol. I finally asked why I couldn't see a menu and he said that he could only legally serve me so many alcoholic beverages within a certain timeframe. It was then I realized that, despite never asking me what I wanted or why, he assumed I only wanted more alcohol. So, since he wasn't interested in finding out what I actually wanted as noted by his own actions, I decided I no longer wanted to engage him in the conversation and told him so. I didn't want more alcohol. I wanted lemonade and two desserts to take home to my husband and mom. But neither he nor his staff ever asked me what I wanted or why. They just assumed I wanted alcohol and, in response, refused to even let me see a menu. When he, after walking away, overheard me tell my friend that I wanted lemonade and that I wondered why he made such an assumption, he, ear hustling from about 3 to 4 feet away, raised his voice to say that his waitress told him that I'd wanted alcohol. I told him that he'd been misinformed since nobody had asked me what I wanted. Instead, everybody just told me "no" in response to my request to simply see a menu. I don't think it's fair or appropriate that a customer should have to pay the price for the staff's misinformation and miscommunication. With the exception of the last drink, I took a sip from each of the drinks served and then passed them down to somebody else who would actually drink them. I don't think it's good customer service to propose solutions and be so reactive without ever asking, "What do you need, what problem are you trying to solve?" The reason why his solution of offering me different alcohol wasn't a solution for me was because I didn't even want alcohol, but nobody bothered to even ask why I wanted to see a menu. I've never been to a restaurant that refused to let you see a menu. When I go to Cooper's Hawk for their prefixe dinner, they don't treat me this way. Will I return? Yes, because one of my friends already decided that's what she wants to spend her birthday there. But outside of family and friend obligations, I don't plan to return, at least not to that particular location. Maybe I'll have better luck at the location in Novi? Good customer service does exist and, from time to time, it might even exist here. But, I didn't receive it that night. However, I'm sure someone else somewhere else is willing to take my money and listen to me in return, and I'll gladly patronize their restaurants. Good food keeps you going back to a restaurant from time to time, but great customer service keeps you going back for life. read more

I am not a fan of chain places but this is one of the exceptions for me. I used to work at the one in Destin Florida for a little bit and everything is prepped fresh daily. Have I had an average meal and average service here? For sure. Most of the time it is really good and with newer menu options that are unique make it a nice place to stop in every now and then. We went last night with family. We waited forever just to have our order taken. The bang bang shrimp and calamari were good. We waited for a good half hour before she came to take our meal orders. It took close to an hour to get our food and it was cold! The only thing that was warm were the mashed potatoes. All of our meals were either luke warm or cold. My husbands steak was supposed to be medium done but it was mooing when it came out and burnt on the outside. His side salad had wilted and brown lettuce. Modern decor. Soft low lighting. Attentive service. I ordered Dynamite Salmon (which is priced about $6 above the regular salmon). The salmon was fantastic but the over-priced "dynamite" wasn't. The dynamite is a tiny ramekin of a mix of creamed spinach and lump crab. It had a weird flavor that is hard to describe...it was reminiscent of food that has gone bad and/or a slight vinegar like aftertaste. It was pretty bad but luckily I had the foresight to order it on the side. Now back to that delightful salmon! It tasted wood-fired. Smoky. It was cooked to perfection. I requested some lemon butter sauce to pour over it as well. I think I may have closed my eyes each time I took a bite, just to savor the flavors. Boths are comfortable. Our server was Ian, he was really nice and had good recommendations, but didn't check up on us as often as we'd had liked. Bread with a pesto and oil was served as appetizer and was good. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer as well and the portion was good for three to share. I ordered one of the specials, Baja shrimp and scallops. Very good, I would order again. Dish needed some salt and pepper, but portion was great and I surprisingly got a lot of seafood which often doesn't happen at other restaurants. My family ordered the chicken and shrimp and the filet mignon and shrimp. Dishes were very flavorful and sides of asparagus and potatoes were good too. I had the Mule for a cocktail and it was so good. Was meeting family for a birthday in Troy and had a some time to kill. My husband was working out that way as well so he met me for a drink at the bar. My dirty martini was great, my red sangria was a little on the sweet side. Strong blackberry notes, it was good, just a little too sweet for me. Hubs got scotch on the rocks. While waiting for him to arrive, the bartender and I chatted about the development of the area. Having worked in Troy in the early 90's and not being out that way often, I was surprise at how many new restaurants and bars there were. I can't remember her name, but the bartender was very sweet and the conversation was genuine and welcomed. This is a nice place but the drinks were expensive. This restaurant has gone downhill. First, it was so quiet it was eerie. Second, my friend and I ordered the same thing and the appearance was completely different. When mentioned it was apparently because mine didn't have butter, but it was clear hers were grilled and mine was not. Dinner cost $30 plus for shrimp, broccoli, and a small portion of cold potatoes.
