Was in Myrtle Beach for a family vacation and decided to try out Bonefish Grill based on reviews. They did not disappoint, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We ordered and ate so much! The service was good as well, our waitress took care of everything we needed. Ambience was ok, there's a wierd feel as the restaurant entrance and some of the seating is faced directly at the sun. I suppose depending on when you're having your meal, but the sun is directly in your face as it sets and it was a bit annoying where we were seated. After the sun goes down the restaurant itself inside is pretty dark, need some better lighting. read more

Ahi Tuna asked the server if the ahi was red she said of co. When served it was not red but purple and no flavor.. we did not eat it. Bang bang shrimp was the worst I ever had.. tiny shrimp and greasy. So sad, it use to be my favorite place. read more

Bonefish Grill is my favorite "special occasion" restaurant in the Surfside area - EVEN THOUGH - I'm allergic to fish and seafood. I generally order Lilly's chicken with creme brule for dessert. Both are awesome! The service is consistently good, no unnecessary waiting (but reservations are recommended) and I hear nothing but accolades about their crab cakes and shrimp. This was the worse meal that I have eaten. My son and I went there for Christmas Eve and had 6:00 pm reservations. We didn't get seated until 7:00 pm. I explained to them that I was unable to set long due to recent surgery. They said we will seat you as soon as we can. My son ordered seared tuna which was dark and old. It also didn't smell good. I ordered fish tacos. When I looked for the fish, there wasn't any. I called the waiter over and his reply was they probably forgot to add the fish. And he was laughing, who does this. The manager cane over and we told her our issues. She just walked away and then returned and told us there was no more seared tuna and that's the was it is suppose to look. I got a photo of seared tuna on my phone and showed her. She said I'll give you something else. I said is it going to take another hour and 20 mins to get this? She again just walked away. The food was so gross and needless to say, we were both fighting to use the restroom the entire night. I've written to them on their website, and called and haven't gotten a return call since Dec 26. Very poor customer service and gross food. And to think this use to be my favorite restaurant to dine at. read more

This is one of my top favorite restaurants. I love how the atmosphere is romantic. With dim lights, and little candles on the table. My husband and I go here most of the time for date night without the kiddos. The waiter/waitress are always very knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive. I like how the menu isn't very large, so it gives the chefs time to really focus on the food without a million dishes. I also like the portion sizes. They're on the smaller side but with an appetizer, the bread and the entree it's more than enough. You don't leave feeling miserable like you've eaten too much and you can tell that the ingredients they use are not cheap. The bang bang shrimp is amazing. We always get that. I had the sirloin and crab cake. Sirloin was cooked to a perfect medium well as I requested, awesome flavor. The crab cake was tender and delicious. Love the sauce that comes with it. The only negative I have is the croutons on my salad that are in house made, were super stale and very bland. I couldn't eat them. But that's no biggie. Looking forward to going back! We are on vacation in Myrtle Beach and saw in a flyer that There was a Bonefish Grill 2 miles from where we are staying. Our waitress was Shane. Share was very attentive to our needs. We ordered Bang Bang Shrimp and Maryland Crab Cakes. Both were delicious. For our entree I ordered Atlantic Salmon and my husband ordered Rainbow Trout. Our drinks, appetizer, and salads were delivered by other servers. Our server was missing for 80% of the meal due to a "crisis in the kitchen". The only course she ran personally was our entrées (which were obviously dry from sitting beneath a lamp and waiting for her). We were never offered refills on our alcoholic beverages. It should be noted that the restaurant was fairly empty during our visit (perhaps 30% full at the most), and although the manager on duty had time to sit in a booth and chat happily with an employee, they were unfortunately unable to visit our table and inquire about our experience. Our server sealed the experience with her inattentive and neglectful service. Icing on the cake? I've been to many Bonefish around the US, and have enjoyed the consistency in meals, but the other night, the Bonefish here in South Myrtle Beach failed miserably. We ordered the Imperial crab dip as an appetizer, which was delicious, but when served with a layer of chips, where the top layer is crisp and the bottom layer is creepy-oily, lessened the dish. I ordered the pecan-encrusted trout - too thin a fillet and dried out. The streamed broccoli was ok as were the scalloped potatoes. My friend ordered the Georges Bank scallops and shrimp. She found it cooked well, with good flavor, and she enjoyed the Pan-Asian sauce along with herb pesto. The mashed potatoes were well seasoned w/garlic and the green beans were a bit too al dente for her taste. For dessert, she had the coconut pie, which was the hit of the evening. It was not a cream-based pie though...it reminded her of a baked custard almost. Full Of Coconut!!!! And the sauce....mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! I had the Macadamia nut brownie. First, not sure I tasted any macadamia nuts. Second, it came out like a microwaved lava cake....all gooey in the center w/a not-finished baking taste. A brownie to me should have a firmer consistency, flourless or not. I had two bites and pushed it away...and if I push away chocolate, there is an issue. The waitress asked us once at the beginning of the meal if we needed anything and that was it. Also, during my other visits to different locations, mgmt was always spotted talking to tables. We were there 2 months ago and throughly enjoyed our meal. We decided to celebrate our 2 year anniversary early May by returning there for another great experience BUT found they had changed their beer selections. They no longer offer Non- Alcohol beer. This is the first restaurant I have been to that has No selection, usually they have at least one, maybe not the one you drink. Lobster was sweet and tender, broccoli was cooked just right with perfect seasoning, and the garlic mashed was delicious...just the right amount of garlic. Valentine's Day Disaster! We made reservations for 5:30 two days prior to the 14th. We arrived on time and found at least 20 other people with reservations waiting. One lady left saying she had been told there was a 2 hour wait. Others with our same reservation time were told they would be seated shortly and had already been waiting 15 minutes. We left, drove to a nearby Outback and were seated within 15 minutes. read more

A couple of weeks back I called at 3 pm for a reservation for 7:30 and was told I didn't need one. I asked approximately 3 times and was reassured I didn't. When we arrived I was asked "do we have a reservation " I said no. I was told my staff would have to be retrained and the wait was 30 minutes. Well tonight with a reservation we arrived a couple of minutes early and saw people outside with wine from business so I asked can we get a glass and wait outside and the answer was yes. Went up to bar and after 10 minutes had to wave to the bartender to be served. Others formed a line behind us and Elizabeth ( the same manager) from last time came up and scolded everyone and said you can't have drinks outside ( and she said once again she will have to retrain her staff) and I told her we were told it was ok. When we sat down within a minute waitress came and wanted to make sure we closed our bar bill then asked if we wanted an appetizer. I told her give us a minute. She came back we told her what we wanted and she said we just ran out. We then ordered dinner and I asked for salt and pepper and when our salads were almost done it came . 2 packages of each. ( ridiculous) told her I would need more (she said that's all they can start with) dinner came it was good. Waitress came back after clearing plates asked if we were members because she wanted to close the check and I said yes. I guess she thought we didn't need or want coffee or dessert. Excellent food. Had grilled shrimp and scallops with pan Asian sauce. My husband had Cobia piccata and shrimp. Both of us had sides of broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes. Broccoli was not over cooked. A glass of Pinot Grigio was a perfect compliment to the meal. Decent pour and not over priced. The food was delicious and our server was knowledgeable and attentive without being annoying. In short one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. While we love bonefish and are usually disappointed we will never return to this bonefish. It was my sisters birthday and our server, misty or mindy was rude and acted as if we were a burden. She never once refilled our glasses. When we told the manager he also seemed annoyed. We were not rude or unkind just frustrated with the situation. They did offer dessert but we declined because it was clear she was not wanting to take care of our family of 4. Unfortunately when you take care of a family who have and currently work in the food service industry when you don't serve you don't get the generous tip we usually leave. I do see that they are skimping on little things (less sauce, smaller bread plate portions, less shrimp in the appetizer) which seems to be the trend these days with chain restaurants. Stopped in after shopping for "Bang, Bang Shrimp Night". Good as usual, but the entree, rainbow trout, not so much....greasy and lacked flavor. The veggie of the day, succotash with edamame, was tasty. Early, 5 o'clock, but good time to stop since it wasn't crowded. read more

Visiting myrtle beach and this was recommended by a friend. We got the bang bang shrimp which was tasty, I had the char and wife sirloin and shrimp. We both had drinks. The char was perfectly cooked and was a nice fatty piece. Was super delicious with the lemon butter as well. Mashed potatoes were great too. My wife's steak was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. I had beer but my wife's drinks were really well presented and delicious. On our vacation, this was a must. The place inside was elaborate and clean. All the servers were well groomed and kind. Our entire family enjoyed the steak and seafood offered here. The servers were prompt and the manager was very kind. Portions were large and filling, the appetizers (bang bang shrimp and the mixed seafood dip) were delicious. Our family normally doesn't go for spicy food, but this was their speciality, and was thoroughly enjoyed. This was a little pricey, but definitely worth it. If you're going to spend money at a restaurant, it's better to spend a little more for better service. Will be back next year. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

This was my first visit to a Bonefish, but not my hubs. Our server Melissa, was delightful. Very professional and informative. We had outstanding bread with a pesto dipping sauce. It was very fresh. I ordered the blackened cod tacos with broccoli and jasmine rice. My daughter has the fried cod on the kids menu with the rice. My husband had the creole dish which was a creole sauce over a very nice fillet of fish (I cannot remember what type of fish it was). Everything was delicious. The fish was cooked perfect. My tacos were amazing and topped with a mango salsa and nice cabbage for crunch. It was accompanied by a lime wedge which I love. It really kicks the flavor of the blackening up a notch. My daughter is a fish eater so she was happy and my husband said he has never had a bad meal at any of the locations he has been to. We finished with the coconut cream pie which is a custard topped with toasted coconut and homemade whipped cream. It was apparently a patron's recipe and they liked it so now it's on their menu. It was just okay to me. I wish we had ordered the key lime instead but maybe next time. read more

Unlike most establishments manager JT took control of the situation and not only got our dinners but went above and beyond by comping our evening. Always on our list of restaurants to eat at. We now have a Bonefish grill in Connecticut but it really does not compare to this location. My steak was fantastic and my wife loved her fish tacos.
