We stopped into Damon's on a Friday night to celebrate my mom's birthday, and between the oceanfront setting, fantastic service and a VERY good birthday deal, it ended up being a great choice! If you dine in on your actual birthday, your meal is free. They do check your ID at checkout (so no stretching your birthday into a weeklong celebration with this one :P) Since it was a Friday night during the summer, we expected a wait and ended up waiting about 30 minutes. But when you can spend that time in rocking chairs on the oceanfront deck watching the sunset, it's pretty hard to complain and the wait flew by. Our server Courtney was AWESOME. He was attentive, had a great personality and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. He told us he's been working at Damon's since about 2000, and you can tell he's an absolute asset to the restaurant! My mom had the ribs and sirloin steak combo, my sister had Buffalo chicken tenders, and I went with the Baja Chicken Sandwich. The food wasn't necessarily anything I'd write home about, but it was solid, portions were good, and I LOVED the fries. Courtney also surprised my mom with a piece of chocolate birthday cake at the end of the meal which was nice (and very unexpected) closing touch. For the price, service and oceanfront views, Damon's is hard to beat. And BONUS: they have their own dedicated parking lot, which definitely isn't something you can always count on along this part of Myrtle Beach! The food was average nothing spectacular nothing really bad, just average. My wife got the flounder which both of us thought tasted frozen. I got the prime rib dip, lots of bread minimal meat. The service, I will just say they are lucky this is a tourist area because a restaurant that had to rely on repeat local business would not survive with this level of service. Our waiter was very inattentive. As we were leaving one of the waitress was audible rude and loud with a table she was serving over a missing item, as she was heading back towards the kitchen and passed us she was complaining to another staff member about the table loud enough that we and others could hear her. We visit this place yearly on our trip to Myrtle, make sure to make a reservation if you can so you don't have to wait because they can get busy! They are quick to get your order and always treat us well. The food is decent for the price, and the ambiance is pretty laid back. Not bad for an evening dinner by the ocean. read more

Why the 3 star overall review? This is a very nice steak house. We only go here for lunch every year when we come to Myrtle Beach. This is by the airport. Nice decor with full beach view. Very polite staff. Great lunch specials for like $14 in August 2026. That's hard to find with rampant food inflation. Generous portions and very well done. That is why Damon's gets a 5 star review. Beverly Clement and I (Willie Conway) arrived at Damon's around 4:15pm. We were able to find parking in the front row. The flowers around the front walking area were bright cheerful and beautiful. We walked towards the elevator and the breeze from the ocean was fabulous. Once upstairs we were showed to a table by the window so we could enjoy the view. We were waiting for two more friends to join us this time. I always say...if you love a restaurant bring friends and increase the business for the owner. We asked and they told me Bryan was on vacation. Good for him! Bailey came to us and took our drink requests. She returned quickly. Soon after that our friends arrived. We talked so much they forgot to look at the menu. Bailey kindly offered to return. It was my birthday and I knew I was able to get anything I wanted for free with only a few exceptions. I love how Damon's offers that for our community. It's perfect. I asked for the salad with grilled chicken. The other got steak, prime dip sandwich, and drinks all around. While we ate the laughter was nonstop. The gentleman came around and offered to take our photo. I love that too. A memory from my special day. I ordered three copies ...one for each of my friends. The food was marvelous! Everyone raved about their dish. Following the meal I handed Bailey my ID for proof of birthday today. We noticed 5he lobby filling up and we had a long relaxing meal. Just another fantastic find while touring our 7000 mile trek to see what we've never yet seen in the good ol' USA. We stopped in from next door at the Holiday Inn. Saw this place and decided to walk a very flat and not too far walk but were a little thrown off at the entrance. Then we realized that everything is on stilts and made our way to the elevator. Once upstairs we were greeted and seated quickly for some drinks and some grub. Nice place. Very oceanic themed place. Nice bar and I assume a great view during the day. We couldn't see sh** at night. Drinks were cold and decently prepared. If I remember (on a 7000 mile trip), we shared a very good prime rib dinner. So says the wife, but I couldn't find it on the menu. I remember we were happy after our visit because Justin was on top of the game and made our visit perfect. Damon's in Myrtle Beach has always been a staple for us whenever we travel, but today's experience was a little different. We love coming here for the salads and the ambience--it's a great location with beautiful waterfront views and usually good service. Our waiter, Alec, was new but very patient and kind, which we appreciated. The issue came with the bar. I ordered the Alligator drink, but it tasted like straight pineapple juice. When we raised the concern, instead of addressing it, we were simply pointed to the menu that included "nonsense" about alcohol. We never asked for a refund--just to be made whole. If a customer orders an alcoholic beverage, they should receive one, not a watered-down or non-alcoholic version. Restaurants should hold their bartenders to the same standard they expect from customers. Accountability should work both ways. As for the food, the salads were good, the bread was hard, the she-crab soup was delicious, and the shrimp skewers were well-prepared. Overall, I'd rate today's visit a 3.5. While the location and views remain a highlight, I hope Damon's steps up its customer service. And if restaurants are now passing credit card fees onto customers, then please also start accepting checks again as a form of payment--it's only fair. read more

I'll give my fair assessment (like i always try to do) of my meal and comments from others in the party Damon's seems like industrial prepared food with small touches of inspiration, not sure who was handing out the awards but what ever I'll start with, the Ambiance, thanks to the beach front view was nice but it could be much better , keep reading and you'll see how , OUR waitress was ok but might want to ck on the customers a little more, I've had a lot worse, onward to the food! Damon's House salad, it was what you'd expect and an average size, now to the meats, *chopped sirloin was ok it looked pleasing with the mushrooms gravy nothing to send a post card to friends back home about, again what you'd expect *Fried fish looked great!, I'm talking picture perfect, now comes the but, it wasn't hot and the only thing moist was the soggy breading, I'm not sure how you get dune dry fish and soggy breading but they figured it out, the plate had BBQ sauce all the way down the entire length of it *Pulled pork BBQ, presentation needed work, to begin with, there was a piece of meat as fat as your index finger and about 2x's as long hanging off the plate , I watched it drag across the serving tray and all the way down the fried fish plate, eww no thanks, it was plopped on a bed of wilted lettuce and mashed down which may be why it had pools and streams of grease winding around the plate and side dish like it was a resort lazy river Now on to the sides, * garden rice, one bite is all it took to say, it sucked and I'll leave it at that *Pecan crusted sweetpotatoe casserole, it might be crusted in the kitchen but not on your plate, I love the taste but not its room temperature Fried okra taste was ok, but I prefer mine warmer than room temperature and speaking of room temperature, their portable ac with its dirty filter running 3-4 ft from my head and food made it hard to hear others at the table, it was doing its best to help try and cool the place but it was lacking, welcome to salt life In closing all i can say is after 3 times the novelty, like the out going tide has left, but hey like any other Myrtle Beach tourist attractions give it a try read more

I haven't been here in 20 years but wanted to go back to see if it was as good as I remember it when I was a child....it wasn't. I remember the ribs being the best thing ever so that's what I had to get. I was shocked to find out that they weren't that good, maybe average. There was no smoke ring or smoke flavor so I'm sure these were done in an oven. The sauce was below average. They were cooked correctly but that's about it. I had to think about why I thought this place was so great and I believe it was because when I was a child we didn't get to order ribs ever, except when we came here on vacation. So up until that point in my life these were the best ribs. But now that I am a pit master and have sampled hundreds of ribs...these just don't do the job. They are better than Applebees and maybe Chilis but that's about it. Any smokehouse will have better bbq. On the bright side the she crab soup was pretty damn amazing. It was full of crab...it was practically all crab which was crazy. Most meaty she-crab soup I've ever had. It was a $4 upcharge to sub out a side for the soup....kinda worth it. The shrimp and ribs combo was $25. I got about 1/3 of a rack and about six shrimp. The shrimp were just average also. Service was great and you can't beat the view if you can get a table outside looking out at the ocean. The other thing I didn't remember was the inside....maybe they remodeled...I talked to the server about it and she said it burned down in 1998 and they rebuilt it to what it is now. I'm not sure I've been since 1998 but I thought I had but I didn't recognize the inside at all. My total with a Diet Coke was $35 + tip. Buddy got the burger and it was just average. The blueberry cornbread they give as an appetizer is something nice and different. I came here for a working lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. The beautiful ocean view is so nice to have during a meal. The menu is expansive! Their lunch selection has so much variety. I got the grilled chicken which surprisingly was over very flavorful rice, then two sides, pecan sweet potatoes and banana pudding. Everything was delicious!! I called in an order for carryout after a long, hot day in the sun. The hostess greeted me immediately and let me know they were still working on my order. I took the time to take in the beautiful ocean view. There isn't a bag seat in the house and if I had the energy, I would've sat and enjoyed my meal there. Right after I arrived, a crowd came, several parties back to back. The hostess managed it with ease and I saw several other staff members working hard to get orders to tables. My food arrived and I took it to my resort to eat. Everything was delicious!! We had a sampler and ordered a rib dinner. The highlight for me honestly was the egg roll chicken appetizer thing. The ambiance is beautiful as it is right on the beach and our waiter was kind and attentive; however, the food was not good with the exception of the rolls and baked potato. My sister-in-law and I had the grilled barbecue chicken breast, and rice pilaf - I had veggies and she also had a baked potato. The chicken was overcooked and hard, the rice was very basic and they served us very little of it around 4 tablespoons of rice and the veggies were subpar. My husband had barbecue chicken wings and the sauce on the wings tasted like pure vinegar- horrible!! He also had clam chowder and it wasn't anything special.. Lots of people were waiting to get into this place; it must have been for the view as the quality of the food was not good! A trip to Myrtle beach, SC for my birthday. This restaurants was next to our hotel on the beach so I knew the view would be great. We chose to sit outside so we can see the beach and the beautiful view. We were seated quickly. Our waitress was in training I think or it was his first day, he was so kind. Honestly when it comes to the food, we weren't too impressed. The chips and spinach artichoke dip appetizer was my favorite. I ate that instead and took my meal back to the hotel. My sister ordered fried liver. It was lunch time so I got something on there. Our food came cold. Waiter was nice about it and took it to heat them up for us twice. I have eaten here about 6 times. I find quality is hit or miss. Some of people in my party have received more than exceptional steaks and cuts or prime rib. Personally, after I order rare, my steak or prime rib comes out closer to well done. A few days ago I had lunch with friends. They were offering a lunch prime rib special. I had another miss of the hit or miss experience the Waitress did say we could not select rare. I ordered the special and so did my friend. My friend's cut of meat looked delicious; it was 1/2 to 1 in thick and medium rare to medium. My cut was 1/2 to 1/4 in in thickness and was well done. In Damon's defense, a manager came around and asked if all was OK. I do not feel comfortable with comparing my plate to another plate at the table. 1st time (4th July 2026) at Damons n I have to say now I know why after 10yrs we've never gone. Waited 30mins to be seated. Why ever table was open. Oh, they had no staff available. Got seated waiter was alright but not memorable. Food took sooo long we were totally full from appetizers. Soups were so spicy no one could eat it. Dinners arrived n yup not even appealing. On Monday night, April 13th around 6:30pm, my dad, husband and I went to Damon's Grill for the first time for dinner since moving to Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately, it will be the last time due to the poor service we received from our server, Ty. Ty was rude, ignored our table, and was very argumentative at the end of our meal. We really only saw him one time since ordering. He sort of checked in with us and by that he didn't get full answers from the whole table or asked if we needed anything else, just walked away. We had to pull him aside just to get the bill so we could leave and that was when my dad had told him the food wasn't very good. He had gotten the ribs and didn't really like them, saying they were dry. Ty began to argue with my dad saying in a rather annoyed tone, "You should have said something when I came by earlier. I would have gotten you another rack." My dad did try to speak up. Ty didn't listen. We aren't difficult people when we go out and we honestly don't know what we did that put Ty in such a horrible mood since he started off welcoming at first. A lot more happened but Yelp doesn't give me enough characters to describe everything. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Was told by the hostess that there would be a 20-25 minute wait but the high top tables located in the bar area are first come first served. Noticing that there were a couple dirty tables we chose one by the entryway which appeared clean. Sat there for between 15 and 20 minutes without being acknowledged by wait staff who were buzzing by or serving drinks at the bar. Asked a different hostess who was far too busy on her phone to make eye contact with a customer if we can just wait for a different table. She dismissively said that the high tops are first come first served. I explained we had already been waiting and was not acknowledged by staff. She replied oh well sorry about that the wait is at least 45 minutes. Clearly our business is not as important as the other patrons who were actually being served. Will not ever darken there door again nor will this place be recommended to anyone I know who is coming to this area. Damon's is a bar and restaurant chain that specializes in prime rib, steak, and their award winning ribs. This oceanfront location has indoor and outdoor seating. I wasn't impressed with this place the first time I was here, but my family loves the oceanfront view so I decided to give them another chance. My experience this time around was much better. All the food was enjoyable and our server Merrill was great. He was friendly, respectful, and accommodating. He was also able to take an order from a party of six without writing anything down. Impressive. There does seem to be some inconsistency at this location, but overall; good food, great service, and beautiful ambiance. The food was just so so for the price. My wife ordered the chicken alfredo but the sauce was not an alfredo it was some other sauce. I ordered the crabcakes that were barely close to being authentic. The cooks need to be schooled in flavor and seasonings. The "bread" was more like hockey pucks ...hard and lacking flavor. While the rest of the servers were doing well ours treated us as an afterthought. Rather than serving us tableside he handed our meals over a railing and made us pass plates (really?). He dissapeared for quite a while and eventually came back to see if we needed anything. We ordered a second set of drinks and they showed up at the very end of the meal. Excellent experience! We went for my husband's birthday, so his entree was free AND he got a free piece of cake at the end. It was a bit crowded, we had to wait for a few minutes so had a drink in the bar, my first time having a banana margarita, which was great. For dinner, we started with half an onion loaf, which was so big I asked the server if it was really only half. Yes! The servers (we had two, one in training) were both super, friendly and helpful. I had she crab soup, so good! My husband's prime rib was huge and tender, our son's ribs and BBQ pork combo also large and tasty.
