Stopped in after hotel checkout to fill up on the breakfast buffet. Very affordable for a restaurant and so convenient for hotel guests. Weekend Breakfast buffet fully stocked and served until 1 pm made it a great choice though the menu was tempting. Friendly staff, buffet had bacon, eggs, pancakes, French toast, grits, sausage gravy, biscuits, cereal, a few different pastries, and fresh fruit. My 3 teens were adequately fed and the coffee was great (and cheaper than the "chain" coffee houses, but just as well prepared). Plenty of seating and the corn hole, putting green, jenga and darts in the foyer were a fun addition. Highly recommend for convenience and price when staying at Sand Dunes or nearby! read more

I had taken a trip down to Myrtle Beach, SC to see my folks for a little pre-Thanksgiving visiting and get back to Brooklyn before the general holiday chaos commenced. Unfortunately, my mom had gotten sick and was in need of rest and recovery time so my Pop and I decided to get some supper over at the Beachfront Kitchen and Bar. They had been there a few times before as residents but I think this was my own very first time paying a visit and I love the chance to try a new place and get some foodie images. As expected, the place was very decorated for Christmas because it was a little over a month away and since it was a chilly and rainy night in MB, there were not a lot of people in the restaurant with us. I noticed a few sitting in the bar but since we were only eating and not drinking we secured ourselves at a window that overlooked their outdoor area and the beach. This would have been a wonderful visual had the rain not been dumping down on us at the time. We kept the eats simple with a shared appetizer of "Boom Boom Shrimp", which is shrimp in a spicy sauce over shredded lettuce. I've seen this particular dish also called "Bang Bang Shrimp" depending on where you go and we made short work of them. Dad got some Chicken Quesadillas and I gave their fried oyster Po'Boy Hero a shot. Mine came with fries and I guess I should have asked if they had hushpuppies instead since I don't always get those up in NYC. Everything was very good and our server very friendly and quick to get us a refill of the unsweetened tea or additional condiments. There were no leftovers to bring back home and there was a WiFi signal to permit check-ins and all the other social media stuff we end up doing. Hopefully I get to come back again when on another visit but that is up to the folks who are in charge of the schedule. The food was terrible...service was fine. Low quality in every way. We ordered the ceasar salad with chicken which was $22.. was breaded cubed chicken with packaged ceasar dressing. Mozarella cheese on the Philly cheesesteak was like rubber, French fries were average. Hawaiian pork dinner was tough and had sweet and sour sauce glopped on tip with dry gross rice. I would've never tried this place if the weather had been better. But we just went right downstairs to find this amazing gem of a restaurant!!! Amazing views. I have been coming to Myrtle for years as my family still lives here. We've tried sooo many places from the North end all the way to the far south end of Pawleys. We came here for convenience, it was the closest breakfast buffet to our hotel. I was impressed with the joint until I walked into the restaurant. It smelled of dirty rags, you know, the ones you dunk in the bucket for disinfecting. I've worked in the industry so I know that smell from anything. We ordered the buffet and not going to lie, it was the smallest buffet I have ever witnessed. Unfortunately some of the food was cold. We were sat by the window that was covered in cobwebs in all corners. We actually had a spider come down from the ceiling into the middle of our table. I know it's at the beach but I felt the cleanliness of the restaurant was subpar especially for being at the beginning of their season. I'm sure for drinks at the bar on a hot summer day they are great but this place wasn't for me. Beachfront Kitchen and bar is oceanfront and is a solid staple for both hotel guests and locals alike. Their menu is relatively simple and their happy hour deals are good. They also have a nice coffee bar, which is way less expensive than the local Starbucks, which is only a block away. The food is always good and served fresh and hot. As with any restaurant, you will occasionally get an inexperienced server however they do have some highly experienced and excellent servers there also. The business is locally owned. The owner is very patriotic and loves this country. He is always doing good for the community and donates to various local charities. The place is not overly classy, so anyone can feel comfortable going there. Overall, this is a great place to hang out, get some food, and have a few drinks. They also usually have weekend entertainment in season. read more

ONLY SERVE FOOD TILL 10pm. We showed up right at 10 thinking they served food until midnight but the guy running the place was amazing and we got some good food! The lemon pepper chicken wings were amazing! The hot wings were good too. We shared a combo app and it's typical fried food but we really enjoyed the onion rings and mozz sticks. Cocktails were good as well. We sat out by the beach and it was spectacular. Overall, I highly recommend. While it's nothing special menu wise it's good food, great service and great ambiance! read more

Love the vibe here! Great outside spaces and beautiful water views. I'd give it 5 stars for that alone but the combo appetizer (mozzarella sticks specifically) we ordered was subpar. However, the homemade bbq was on point! Good job, Dave! We will be back for breakfast while we are here. The restaurant is on the southeast side of the hotel so if you're using your GPS, enter at the main entrance of the hotel and go as far back as you can. Parking is limited but free. Jan Dobr, longtime Manager at Martin's Restaurant in the Long Bay Resort (and also "Martin's Nephew"),has opened his own establishment now and it is right on the ocean. There's not a better location in MB. There's a nice patio and a little lawn overlooking the beach where clients can enjoy the view and also play a few games--you can even practice your putting! Jan is a proud American citizen, having emigrated from the Czech Republic, and a 5-handicap golfer, so be careful before you decide to challenge him at his own game! The food is very good and the portions are more than ample. My friend loved her Blackened Chicken Focaccia, which really was large enough for two people. I had Loaded Nachos, plus Onion Rings--delicious and just my normal Health Food --or not. The others had salads and enjoyed them. There again, nice large portions. Jan is doing takeout and delivery so give him a call! This new restaurant is sure to become a fun place to hang out on the beach. read more

This is a classic example how a restaurant can have pretty good rating but terrible food & service! Perhaps, those who are just happy with a bun and piece of meat thrown on it are happy, but not me. My taste are well too refined for that nonsense. Requested seating and after 20 minutes I had to remind the host we still have not had service. Double cheeseburgers must of frozen & tiny patty's as they could not cook to temperature. Burger and bun taste like rubber and like they were put in the microwave. When his restaurant became a victim of Hurricane Ian, he was able to offer an alternate restaurant (Fish Shanty Restaurant, at Sand Dunes Resort) to hold this event. John prepared and donated all the food for the meal, which included a generous portion of spaghetti with a delicious meat sauce, a fresh garden salad, and garlic bread. We were so impressed with this wonderful beachfront restaurant located at the North Shore Hotel. We were able to walk right up from the beach and feast on delicious fish tacos for dinner, as the sun set. The staff was welcoming and service was prompt and exactly as we ordered. We hit a bucket of golf balls at the Cane Patch range and worked up an appetite. I looked on Yelp and found the Beachfront which was only a couple of blocks away. It's located in the Sand Dunes Resort and as the name infers right on the beach. I'm usually hesitant about these hotel restaurants either being too expensive for what you get or an add on, neglected spot to mildly satisfy the guests . . . this was neither. The ocean view was very good and tables were clean. There was a wide variety of menu items sounding delicious. The waiter Bob was friendly and courteous, he took the time to answer any questions. With each of us having diet restrictions we asked if we could modify our selections. Bob did not hesitate to accommodate us and the kitchen followed through. We started with a couple of drinks that were very good. I ordered the Fish Tacos and my girlfriend had the Fish and Chips, both fresh and delicious. The server was as friendly and courteous as the Bob. We were both extremely satisfied with our meals, over the top. I only had one disappointment, they close for the month of January. Just when I found a new place to have an excellent meal overlooking the ocean now I'll have to wait a month to return. read more
