I like to consider myself and onion ring aficionado and believe me when I say these onion rings are top notch!!! When you bite in, the onion doesn't pull along with it and the crunch is panko perfection!!! I just loved it! The price was a little high for 5 onion rings so my tips is just to add it to your burger/sandwich for $3.99 instead of paying for it full price. Granted, you'll get less but the price works out. My Fork & Knife burger was delicious. I forgot to add cheese so don't forget to do that. And everyone else loved their food too. Our server was nice. Not a hoverer but there when you needed something. Lots of seating and LOTS of decoration on the walls. Everything from license plates to stickers. Went to the River City Cafe by the Dunes the other day - there's _seven_ locations, so they're doing something right :) I thought RCC had pretty good food (a burger), a suitable beach-divey vibe and location, location, location... I think if you're in the Myrtle Beach area, it'd almost be hard not to have eaten here once or twice before. The burger was alright and the service was quick. AMAZING food! We ordered cheese pops as an appetizer, it's deep fried cheese curds served with marinara. Delicious! I ate the grouper fingers. Probably the best fried fish almost ever. Fresh and light, not greasy at all and served with fries, cole slaw (with raisins) and cocktail/tartar sauce. Tonight was my first time trying River City Cafe. I am in Myrtle with a group of ladies here to support our friend on the first heavenly birthday of her late husband who passed away in May. We were sat immediately but waited over 20 minutes for anyone to come greet us at the table. The food was incredible, but the service, not so much. We were sitting and talking as we finished eating and the manager came to ask us when we were leaving bc they had a large party and needed our table. They were not busy and there were multiple empty tables. We had even told the waitress that we were celebrating a birthday of a loved one gone on. My wife and I stopped in to grab a bite before going to meet some friends. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and she had the hot wings. We split an order of bacon cheese fries. The burger was awesome and so was the fries. My wife said that was some of the best wings that she had in quite a while. Our server was always nearby to take a refill order or whatever we needed. The restaurant was decorated as a usual River City Cafe with lots of license plates and the usual graffiti. You had to cross a courtyard to go to the restroom, though. Not a fan. I made a huge mistake and did not check out the bathrooms prior to ordering food. I was disappointed at first that the beer I ordered was in a can, but after checking out the bathrooms I was happy it did not come out of their beer tap system. I am 100% sure the beer tap system would be infested with mold and quite grungy ! One & done! We will never ever ever ever return to any of their locations! I have eaten there three times in the last month. All three times the burger was incredibly good. Easily the best burger I have ever eaten.The fries were good-typical side. Onion rings were also quite good, but for me a little too large. Service was very good. I never had to ask for a refill and the servers were helpful and knowledgeable. The one time eating outside I had to contend with flies-nothing to be done about it though. The inside is fun, very nostalgic for a man approaching 70. read more

This restaurant is located near the ocean in a populated area on the strip. We came during lunch hours and were able to be seated at a table right away. The restaurant is uniquely decorated with multiple license plate tags on the walls. The restaurant offers peanuts to snack on while you wait on your food. Our server, Samantha P. was friendly & attentive. I ended up ordering the shoestring burger with fries. The combo also came with coleslaw. The side of coleslaw was prepared with raisins. This was the first time that I have seen this combination. The burger and fries tasted good and were served warm. The burger was topped with onion straw and the house sauce and I opted for lettuce and tomatoes on my burger as well. If I am in the area again I would come back. read more

After 10 minutes of waiting and watching multiple servers walk by our table and not saying a word, I went back up to the hostess stand and asked her where our server was. Whether you're a local like me or a tourist here in the Dirty, River City Cafe should serve you well. Burgers and fries are solid and prices are quite reasonable, particularly right down at the beach. For $2.79 more you can add fries and cole slaw to any burger...call it a platter. I really liked the fries and they give you plenty. Both my burger and fries were served hot! Free refills on draft sodas and they have a bar as well so you can get a cocktail...house designed specialty cocktails are 16 oz. and are 6 bucks. Pretty sure they do bottle beer only. Decor is laid back with TVs around in the corners, lots of old license plates, and stuffed dead animals attached to the walls. 80s tunes played while we ate. I got the Continental burger. I asked for medium but really didn't see any pink inside...but that's typical when I order a burger. I still liked it...that, and the fact that outside, yes, outside, seating was closed off during covid times cost them the 1 star. read more

Food is goooooooood. Plain cheeseburger had a party in my mouth. They serve barefoot wine, so you know it's good. Darius, our server was awesome. He was by himself, and he was hustling. This was my second time at River City Cafe at the 73rd Ave. N. location. I won't go again. Both trips, the food was not good. Under no circumstances order the chicken Philly. The chicken was in huge chunks. Many pieces had gristle and were unchewable. The hoagie bread was soggy, not toasted. The fries were soggy and not crisp. The server was pleasant and efficient. Absolutely horrible. I'm 13 and i'm leaving a review. Arrived around 7:50, got food at like 9:10. There's inside and outside seating, and pray to God you don't get the outside seating. It's like when your class is having a party and you get kicked out of the classroom and look through the little window in the door and see everyone having fun. Like me and my parents could see the staff just walking around inside like a merry go round, and being non existent outside. The sprite tasted literally like flavorless sparkling water. I had my airpods in and the waitress asked me if it was good and i didn't hear her so it's partially on me, but the fact it even arrived like that was baffling. Didn't even give me the refill for it, i got coke instead and it was actually like amazing. Best coke i ever had, i don't know how to describe it but when i drink normal coke it feels dull, flat, and lifeless. That coke felt so like full of life, and happiness. My bacon cheeseburger was also amazing. My mom got a buffalo chicken sandwich, it was supposed to have tomato, lettuce, cheese, guess what came on it? Nothing. And something might've been wrong with the chicken, cause she cut it in half and she gave it a weird look. My mom got a river rita and it was basically just water. My mom has a low alcohol tolerance and she didn't feel a thing. It also comes in a cup that's like 4 inches tall. I guess it's a horrible place unless you know what to get.
