Chicken Caesar Salad

My wife and I use to frequent Carrabba's when they were in the KC area so tonight we took our kids to their first experience of it. The food was great, the place was clean and easy to get a table. I would've given this place a 4 based off of this but Dylan L was our server and he was easily the best server I've had in a very long time. He had multiple tables and he kept drinks coming and checked on us constantly. Whatever this man makes as a wage, I can tell you he deserves a raise.

I ordered delivery via GranHub. Calamari was crunchy but hard. Crab Cakes were good.Cannoli cake was a disappointment. It was not tasty enough

Always a stop when we're in MB ! Their ribeye is far better than Outback. The chicken trio is awesome. Service has always been spot on and we've never been disappointed in the quality. Abby was our awesome server this year !

Portions are big even the side salad . The bread just keeps coming in warm and the service is fast and attentive . The prices are also right except for the dessert we ordered chocolate fudge cake to go and it was a little small . We got a lot for about $80 something not including the tip .

I had never been to a carrabba's but my brother and sister in law had many times. Their favorite server was Niko and so when they made reservations, they requested Niko's section and that it was a birthday celebration. When we arrived, not only was Niko not working but they never acknowledged the celebration. Our server was Thomas. He was excellent! We ordered drinks and requested butter when the bread comes out. The butter finally arrived after 3 requests. We had a watermelon vodka basil cocktail that was so good! I ordered the lasagna on my sister in law's suggestion. I also ordered a salad with peppercorn Parmesan dressing. When I opened the napkin to retrieve my silverware, the were gross and dirty. That's the second reason for my dropping a star. Food was okay.

Shrimp and scallop linguine alla vodka

Ordered Carrabbas to be delivered, came with hardly any sauce and the sauce it did have didn't taste anything like vodka sauce. Didn't have much flavor at all. Bread that comes with it is also very mediocre

Hi Everyone, If you…read morelive to eat as many my of my Italian friends do, Villa Romano's succulent fare, will put that curl in your hair. This restaurant was a surprise from our oh so friendly, engaging, interesting and very accomplished Accordion Virtuoso, Mike. To our very enthusiastic, lovely, patient, Server Berkley. To our food which was divine. To the "Old World" Italian environment, kinda like Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, without the human statues that move ever so slightly, but just enough to to make you feel, something is a miss, but what??? Man, that drove me crazy. Also, you want to go here to dine because their competing Restaurants in the area feel having you wait in very long, well over an hour and a half lines, just to get in satisfies their need not to take any reservations. Hun...? Yep, they're fine having Aunt Susie's makeup looking like Mark Shostrom, the Master Makeup Artist from the horror series "A Nightmare on Elm Street" movies, put it on for her. We all know also, because while we tried our best not looking at how Aunt Susie's makeup was contorting her face, it was like trying not to look at a car wreck. I even laid 7-5 odds that her false eyelashes would become a moustache, and won, while we all did exactly that to satisfy my beautatious date's Cousins' from Reno, fish wish, in Myrtle Beach. We stood in the lines outside, in the evening heat, at three different restaurants that we tried. Please remember to bring water, you'll feel better while you wait, wait, wait again, and then really wait, as if Mosses is going to appear from on high with the Ten Commandments. Instead it's, "Your table is ready" as you try to wake Grandma from her heat induced coma. While Villa Romano's bait, is to actually take your reservation and instead, have you relax on your tushy while having a cocktail in their comfortably A/C filled delightful ambience while you relive your day's perspective with friends and Family ("No, you missed it. First he...", ya know), while Mike fills the air with his sweet mellifluous musical notes floating by you for your audio pleasure, much like the feather in Forrest Gump. Their appetisers looked awesome however, this is an "Old World" Italian restaurant that offered their minestrone soup, and their Caesar salad which came with our meals, was very tasty, and paired very well with the bottle of wine from their varied, and well selected wine list, which we all shared. First, I read some of Villa Romania's great reviews on Yelp, before making a reservation, most especially, because I did not want anyone to have to repeat "THE LONG Lines" at our Fried Fish Palace, lol experience from two nights earlier. All of our entrees pictured below, were savoy, aroma enticing, tastebud thrilling, flavor forward, and exceeded all our sensory expectations which helped us all unwind while really enjoying our evening out together as it unexpectedly, evolved into an event for us all. While all their deserts sounded wonderful we were all completely full. But on our next visit, tiramisu, ice cream, and cannolis for all. So it's expensive, right? That is a great question Poindexter, but wrongo, my parsimonious friend. It was again, surprisingly affordable, and "I shall return" as General Douglas MacArthur once said. Why? Because sometimes you just can't find what will work for everyone, and that feels and tastes, just right. That's it! That is Villa Romana Restaurant, and we all were so gleeful and happy we discovered that fact in our visit to Myrtle Beach, SC. Manga... Enjoy!

First and foremost, eat here for the complimentary garlic bread! The Man thought it was the best…read moregarlic bread he's ever had and wanted me to make sure to mention it. Thought I'd lead with that tip. Ramando's reminds me of the place my grandparents used to go to when they came to MB every year for their annual vacation. The decor is old-school, and could stand an update. The food is quality products, and could stand an update. Even the music playing is solid (who doesn't love 90 minutes of the Rat Pack?), and could use an update. All that said, other than updates, I have no notes. Arriving, the outside looks, well, like it needs an update, if not just some regular maintenance. Outside there were vine engulfed European garden statues. Overgrown plants. Walking through the front door felt like walking into the late 70s or early 80s. Giant ship's wheel light fixtures. Multilayer and multicolor table cloths under a plexiglass topper. Complete with what looks to be throwback paper placements with all the classic cocktails listed out. And... appropriately lit, clean, open, inviting and smelling lovely. We were curious. It wasn't busy, but it was also already close to 8 pm. Granted it was a Saturday night, and shoulder season in this family beach resort town, so we didn't judge. I can't help but wonder if a few updates to the food and decor might not help though. After we were seated our server greeted us promptly. Magdalena (sp?) was lovely. Big smile. Warm greeting. Drinks and water arrived in good time. My Cosmo was made with Rose's lime juice. Not my favorite, but I also know that if a bar isn't doing enough business it's difficult to keep fresh juices on hand without waste. Even with the Rose's, it was well-made, my well-balanced and tasty. The Man's Manhattan was good. Solid, was the word he used. He had wine with supper. I would have had a rosé, but there wasn't one by the glass. For dinner I ordered the Chicken Ramando's with gluten free pasta. Everything was well seasoned and prepared, although the pasta was a little over. Not a big deal in my book. I'd rather that than under. This is where I think a little update could help. Chicken Ramando's is billed as pan sautéed chicken with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots and feta cheese over pasta. I was thinking it would have a nice, light lemon and wine sauce, almost like a scampi or maybe finished with a little butter for richness. Keep it light and fresh, but still luscious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. (They prepared mine without what would apparently be the usual flour and breading.) it was laid over the pasta and then smothered in a cream sauce and the feta. The veggies were super sautéed (maybe prepped earlier and recooked to heat resulting is super duper sautéed?) and laid alongside either side (think rows, like a Cobb salad). I don't want to say the veggies were hammered, because they were still moist and juicy, but I almost forgot there were supposed to be carrots in there until I realized one of the shapes didn't match the others. And don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It was okay. I gave it 4 stars because it's being exactly what it's always been and killing at that. It was, just unexpected. Unexpected because it's a beach resort area. It's a lot of families with kids. While grandma with her walker is also here and wanting to relive happy memories, there is room to cater to both. Maybe have two versions: traditional and modern? I get wanting to hold onto the traditional recipes too. I've watched way too much Gordon Ramsey that I can hear chefs in my sleep shouting how everyone loves the food! But let's be clear, a lot of the time they're being polite because they don't want to get into an uncomfortable conversation. If I were cooking this dish at home, my modern take, if you will.... I'd have the bed of pasta (it would also be killer over an orzo or rice pilaf), as they did, but I'd lay the sautéed chicken breast over it and then top it with a skilleted mix of freshly sautéed to al dente veggies with garlic, (chile pepper flakes, if you're so inclined), lemon juice, white wine and finish with butter. I'd pour that over the whole shebang pasta and sprinkle some feta over it along with some parsley for garnish. Maybe some finishing olive oil. Done. Same dish, but lighter and super flavorful where I could identify each veggie and taste them as well. With just a couple tweaks here and there, Ramando's could have a renaissance. I hope they're able to find their way there. The area needs them and their cuisine.

We started with the Calamari appetizer, it was very good, however our entrees were not so good. The…read morechicken piccata was real sweet like they had put sugar on it and the chicken marsala was the worst I ever had, it was just a brown gravy with sliced mushrooms with a really weird taste. The service was very good and I really felt bad for the waitress because the entrees were so bad. The ambiance was a time warp lost in the 80's. This is a restaurant that I would not recommend.
