Always on our list of restaurants to eat at. We now have a Bonefish grill in Connecticut but it really does not compare to this location. My steak was fantastic and my wife loved her fish tacos. Food and service was excellent we are here from Massachusetts and our closest bonefish closed so I was excited to see one near the campground and everything was the same from the menu to the atmosphere. We started off with the crab corn chowder then I got the Lilly chicken was delicious and my husband got the baha tacos followed by a few cocktails off of the happy hour menu we will be back next time we are in Myrtle. read more

We have always liked Bonefish, unfortunately Surfside BF., fails to come close to our expectations of it s standards [corporate is strict on those guys] and it comes as bit of a surprise. We have just started to come back here after having the same problem , one time before. It was really lousy. As much as I like the bonefish concept. Taking the trouble to look as good as we can,driving to, spending a Saturday out, and of course wasting hard earned money. There is no way. Usually a standard good place to eat, but have they ever gone downhill in the last few years! Crab cakes are so spicy that it puts hot sauce to shame. House salad us to be great but not much in it anymore. There specials are not special at all. Very little portions...I knew the owners of some of the franchises back when the originals were opening, and is a poor display of fresh and exciting food they once had in mind. read more

The reason I will give this a 2 star is because of our server, who was fabulous. We drove in for a girls weekend and stopped on the way to our condo (so we typically wouldn't eat at a Bonefish while at the beach). First, our drinks were wrong, but we rolled with it. Our appetizer came out with our meal and my entree was wrong too. The food was not good. The food runner even told us when something was subbed and that "the corn risotto is still frozen so we can't give it to you." The manager came by to apologize but came off condescending and smug--stating he overheard our conversation while we were eating. But wait! We got a free desert. Later we saw two severs come out to a table in uniform and eat plates. The manager came and ate bites off of their plates. As a former server in a restaurant I wouldn't waste my time eating here at Bonefish n Surfside for two reasons. 1. You are at the beach. First time at a Bonefish Grill. Server Nicole was pretty efficient and knowledgeable. Food was 'eh' at best. Went there at 5:30 on a rainy Sunday evening. Not a busy night. More empty tables than not. Ordered the special wild caught salmon. Don't have it. Disappointed but moved on to grouper. A very thin cut. It was OK but have had much better. The seasonal vegetables, a serving size of a tablespoon gave you a taste. The other side, broccoli, was a nice serving size. For me, just a mediocre meal. Won't be in a hurry to go back. read more

Bonefish Surfside has been our fave place to eat for years! It was always excellent and close to our home. Sadly last two times we went were disappointing. Specifically the filet mignon has undergone major changes -- for the worse. Before fresh, thick, and cooked to perfection. Now, it looks like a previously frozen piece of meat that has been over cooked. Definitely different meat. Not good. The fish continues to be very good. I'm a fan BUT...... That's why I'm writing this review, because it is one of my favorite places to eat and this visit was not good. I went to the SSB Bonefish Grill for the Soft Shell Crab. Boy was I disappointed. I keep hearing the advertisements of how crispy and delicious they are...NOT. My crab was greasy and not crisp. The whole plate was greasy. My green beans were too buttery and then the greasy crab, it seemed liked a greasy mess. The crab was not very flavorful either. I'm wondering if there is new management there. A guy walked around and said hello to each table and left his business card. Maybe he's a new manager. Should have asked how my dinner was, not just the desert on my plate. I am now hesitant to visit there again and am saddened because it was always a great go-to place for us. read more

My friend and myself went for happy hour, shortly after me got there something happen to her and we had just got our wine and bang, bang shrimp, when I noticed she was having a stoke, tried to help but couldn't so had them to call EMS, which came in a hurry and got her ready to transport. As we were leaving the manager on duty came to ask if I was going to pay the bill before I left, my you wasn't thinking about that but also thought he was rude. I work in a restaurant and they should not have been thinking of the almighty dollar, but instead of a life being save. Which I stopped and told them to hurry and bring card back cause I needed to go with my friend if 40 years. I have always loved Bonefish but I will never go back, and I tell everyone about there customer service, which sucks. She survived and I was told only by me, that I saved her life by doctor, I noticed something right of bat and got her help within that time period, and she is better because of all the quick thinking g of myself, EMS, and doctor. No help from Bonefish, and you might want to think before you go there cause they will probably just let you die at the booth. Never did the check after and called back to check. read more

Went to Bonefish for Valentine's Day. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM. When we got there we found approximately 50 people standing in line through the door. We learned that everyone in line also had a reservation and there was no representative from Bonefish there to tell us what to do. Even people that ordered Take Out were in line!! When we finally made it into the building people were standing all around waiting to be called for their reservation. Still no excuses were made for the delays... We finally got seated a little after 7 PM for what I thought was only a mediocre meal. Service was good but the food did not meet my expectations. When we finally left there was still a long line at the front door. They obviously over booked their reservations but they didn't think it was important to have someone stationed outside to let people know what was happening. We had my sons Birthday Party there and service was extremely slow. Food was excellent, but as we had two waiters, things got a little confused. When it came time for checks, that's when all hell broke loose, Only 3 guest got a correct check, We waited for over and hour, while staff and manager on duty tried to fix the problem. Never completely got straightend out. I finally got my debit card back, while not signing for a bill???? Checked my bank and got charged $65.00???? What a fiasco the evening turned out to be....staff and manager really dropped the ball....don't have a large party there, they cannot handle it...oh and nothing was comped for us waiting for over an hour just to pay.....such a mess. read more

Sadly, Bonefish Grill was my husband and my favorite "celebration" restaurant. Over the past 12 years we spent many Birthday and Anniversary dinners here. So when my husband told me we got a coupon in the mail for a free entree my first thought was "why not"! The first omen should have been when we made reservations and the hostess kept getting our name incorrect, and then the number in our party (two). The second omen should have been when a woman came back with her take out order complaining about how small the portion was. But did we heed these omens... no... we still went in with the anticipation of a great meal with a "free entree" coupon. It didn't even bother us when the waiter did not notice us right away or brought me a dirty glass that had someone's old lipstick baked onto it. The warm bread and the perfect bang bang shrimp made it all worth it. We even tolerated the extra small water glasses with the milk bottle filled with room temperature water that was left on our table for us to drink. Even though the bang bang shrimp was now $10.00 I would still say it was worth it! My husband and I both ordered the shrimp and scallops with sautéed spinach and I order the garlic mashed potatoes and he ordered French fries. The sautéed spinach was very bland and drenched in oil. The 5 shrimp were tasty but they were small. Sadly, the 5 scallops were so slimy I could only eat 2 of them. We probably would have been really distraught had we paid full price (which would have been around $60.00) but fortunately we only paid $33.50. Good thing we came here tonight instead of next month when we will be celebrating our 50th birthdays! I guess it's time to find another celebration spot! While I understand that it is good practice for a restaurant to review and update its menu periodically, I also know that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". A recent menu "update" shrank the serving of BangBang Shrimp while increasing the price. That same "update" took the most tasty fish taco to be found anywhere and reduced it to a 2 bite wonton wrapped mess that crumbles all over the plate and lap... and sent me looking for a new favorite restaurant. read more

Love the food at Bonefish, but I belong to a group who once a month had a private luncheon there. When they got a new manager a few months ago instead of telling us they didn't want to serve us, they raised the price from $13 to $22. I think working business this way is the worst thing you can do to lose locals business. I won't be going back even though I enjoy the food. read more

As one of my favorite restaurants I am sad to say that the service on Tuesday, May 24, was indeed not very good. We had reservations for 6:15...I had a meeting in the area for 7:30, plenty of time to order, eat and be on time for my meeting. NOT SO. at 7:05 our food had not yet arrived, the bread and salad yes, but no entree. We told the server we were upset and the server said they were unusually busy. This was not the first time that the kitchen staff has not been able to keep up with the volume of diners. I feel the staffing situation is in need of some review. (Relating our experience with several friends, they too had had similar experiences in the past few weeks.) I sincerely hope this situation can be corrected. read more

This is not about the food. This is about the treatment of patrons by an in-ept night manager. My husband and I were out on our "date night" enjoying drinks, apps and dinner at the bar. While conversing with another couple, we were approached by I assume the floor manager. He started talking of their policies saying he thinks we have had enough alchohol and that he could call us a cab (???!!!). He also said he would let the bartender know if we were ALLOWED the after dinner drinks we ordered. We were not intoxicated, loud or abnoxious. Stunned and embarrased we sat there looking at each other. The other couple shied away from us. The bartender was extremely apologetic and seemed embarrassed herself. We paid our bill, and left shocked and dumb-struck at how we were treated. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Such a shame as the food is great and only minutes from our house. They just lost many more dollars we could have spent there. read more
