I've been to this location several times during the pre-covid and current covid era. This place is now becoming one of my real go-to places to hit up due to their good outdoor setup. They have an immense tent which covers a wide swath of outdoor tables in the parking lot. The tables are well spaced, offer a lot of distance between diners and their staff does an excellent job of maintaining safe protocols when dealing with customers. As for the food, it's the usual solid mix of their bang bang shrimp and imperial dip appetizers that I always stick with. I also often rotate between either their baked cod w/crab, steak + crab cake combo or cod imperial. All of them are solid choices. In addition to the food - the service here is 100% consistent and top notch. We've interacted with many different servers and they always are professional, efficient and friendly. It's no surprise that this place gets pretty packed on the weekends and it's pretty clear that many others share the same vibe when it comes to the overall mix of food, service and safety. read more

My siblings and I took my parents out for dinner. Despite having dined at other Bonefish locations and having enjoying the food (this time included too), the service at this particular restaurant was one of the worst I've encountered. We arrived on time for our reservation at 6 pm - and were seated with menus. After approximately 20+ minutes, our finally server came to our table to take our beverage order. Recognizing she didn't come until 20 minutes after we were seated, we entered our order all at once (drinks- literally a glass of wine and a coke and waters for the table, 2 appetizers, and 6 entrees.) My father received his wine promptly. As one staff member dropped it off, she said "Gotta wait for the bread first, sir!" (Waiting seemed to be the theme of the night!) Bread came out about 5 minutes later --- now about 30 minutes from originally seating. To make is worse, guess what?, our waters and my mother's coke arrived after we finished our appetizers... The server came over and apologized once we were done with our appetizer to check-in. She mentioned that she saw that we didn't have our waters and asked her manager how could "the back" not bring us water before. So, wait? If you saw, why didn't you chime in and take care of your customers? (Or better yet, why not the managers step in and help their staff and deliver waters to customers who have been waiting for 30 minutes?) When our food finally arrived, it was delivered haphazardly - three dishes coming first and the remaining two following after a few minutes. (Not a big deal in the grand scheme of it all.) The dishes though dropped off to the table with the the appetizer plates and small plates still there. No one came to collect the small plates before entrees arrived! I had to personally hand them over to the food runner after he dropped the dishes off and asked, "Can I get anyone anything?" (Ummm, yeah, clearing the table would be nice!) Waiter did come to check on us. She asked us if we wanted the check. "Yes, please!" She dropped off the check and collected two main dishes "Let me get these out of your way!" but kept all of the other dishes on the table. Having worked in the restaurant industry for some time , I understand busy Saturday nights. I get - I really do....However, there are basic expectations to make customers feel they're truly dining out. Waiting for water until after finishing appetizers? Bread arriving after drinks? Serving entrees while appetizer plates linger untouched, not clearing them until prompted by customers? It's simply unacceptable in my opinion, even if it's a chain restaurant! There's so excuse to not do small gestures and pleasantries. The food was good, but the service... seriously not good at all. Sorry, Bonefish, one of the better chains, but you definitely need to step the service game up, especially this location. read more

Today February 1 I visited the Paramus New Jersey location. A very disappointing evening or 25 minutes I'll say. At just 5 PM and a maybe 15% capacity I ordered my meal from a waitress who took my order and that was the end. While I watched the head chef (manager) I believe dine with a woman manager I also believe be served in the middle of the dining room with Martinis bottle of wine appetizers and constant return service I waited for these 25 minutes with nothin in site including my waitress. We were staying at the attached hotel and ate here after a long day of travel. The inside is standard American restaurant ambiance and felt cozy and clean. The staff were polite, professional, and experienced. We waited a little long at certain times, but it was somewhat late and they were still busy. The complimentary bread is delicious. I ordered the chicken off the grill and was more than happy I did. The chicken was juicy, cooked fully, and piping hot. It came with green beans and mashed potatoes that were equally amazing. A very seasonal Friday evening in Mid July, we opted to revisit Bonefish Grill in Paramus. With reservations in-hand, we arrived around 6:45 PM and were promptly shown to a corner table within the main dining room. Within moments, our Server, Kylie. stood table-side with her trainee in tow inquiring about our drink preferences. At this time, we knew our evening would be an enjoyable one as Kylie exhibited a good degree of personality, communicative skills, as well as providing us with more than ample time to decide on our dinner. We then ordered our drinks while we mused over the menu. Once my wife and I made our choices, our Server returned to take our orders. It should be pointed out that Kylie continued to show excellent listening skills while she assisted us by responding to several questions regarding the Grill's fare. I then asked her to delay serving our Mains until such time that we had finished our Starters. Our food was quite good yet it appeared that our portions had been carefully measured prior to platting. My wife's fish amounted to a few fork fulls; my steak, although perfectly grilled, was not reflective, in size, of it's price point. Oh yeah! My experience here with my boyfriend was excellent. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. He gave us extra pesto oil that comes with the bread while waiting for our entrees. We enjoyed the oil. It was very good. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp which never seems to fail. I had to knock off a star because the size of the lobster tail, I didn't think, was worth the amount. I ordered the Cold Water Lobster Tails with Potatoes Au Gratin and Coleslaw. I enjoyed both my sides. The potatoes were on the heavier side and the coleslaw was not drenched in mayonnaise giving my whole meal well balanced. For dessert we got the Macadamia Nut Brownie which came with a flourless brownie, raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with macadamia nuts. The brownie is just to die for. It pains me to write a lukewarm review for this particular Bonefish Grill, but I feel like I ought to be honest with it. This restaurant feels so fancy, and with prices to match, the service is great, but the food quality does not catch up. We went to an awesome Bonefish Grill Yelp Elite event in Denver, CO about a year ago, and decided to go to this location in NJ when we were visiting for a spa weekend. We had some gift cards to use which sweetened the deal. We ordered the dinner for two, which came with an appetizer of salad, Boom Boom Shrimp. The main dish was a combination of seared tuna, ceviche, mango salsa, steak as far as I remember. The salad was similar to one you would get at your local takeout pizza place. Bland combination of vegetables thickly cut, a little dry, not great. The Boom Boom Shrimp was ok - although the sauce was good, something was off about the way it seems to have been cooked this time - the fried breading did not stay on the shrimp and was falling off into a mushy paste with the sauce. The dinner for two also was average - ok sauces and the mango salsa was not too great, the fish and meats were a little on the drier side and not juicy. The food was just ok, average at best, and for a place like this with the decor and ambiance of a fancy upscale restaurant, the quality just does not make sense. It's as if this restaurant is having an identity crisis and doesn't exactly know what it is. On 4/21/23 I dined at this restaurant. There were ants on our table. And the waiter killed the ants with his hand and never washed afterwards. He never moved our seat. When the food came out there were ants crawling g on the plate. They refunded my plate. Charged for everything else even though we DID NOT AND WOULD NOT EAT IT. Horrible experience. Waiter seems like he was high on Everything. I will be getting my money back from them for my whole entire meals. I contacted customer service and waiting for response. There were obvious differences in treatment between my table and the booth behind me, which I'm not even going to get into in depth. The wait wasn't bad; about 20 minutes. We were seated and given menus but our waiter forgot about our complimentary bread... annoying because we were actually pretty hungry. Our food was great! Just like my yelp experience. I ordered the lily chicken with added shrimp. Both great! Even my two year old liked them both! We also had a medium sirloin with a lobster tail. Both tasted great but the lobster was too small for $14. A bit expensive but cooked well. Our sides were garlic mash, broccoli and Mac and cheese for premium side. All were great. The bang bang shrimp is definitely popular for a reason! It was so good! Crispy and flavorful. I ordered the sirloin steak medium well and it was nice and juicy on arrival. I enjoyed my sides as well. I chose the white sangria to drink which was very tasty. I was tipsy midway through it! Haha (lightweight). The second sangria I ordered had a bug in it. I always have the best seafood here. A lot of people recommend the bang bang shrimp. The first time I tried it, it was good. They really over do it with the sauce, so the last couple times we've asked for it on the side. What a difference! I have already been twice to this restaurant and will continue attending since my husband and I love it so much! We have come with friends as well and we all love it too! The second time I attended Bonefish Grill, I was received by Carolina, the hostess, which is also my name and from the get go that was a great sign. Not only because she has my name, but she was very sweet, polite, professional and very courteous not only to me but to everyone who walked in and who was already there waiting! Kudos to Carolina! Moreover, the food was delicious, our waitress was also very nice (can't remember her name). She was very pleasant, courteous and very knowledgeable of the menu as well! Well, well let's me start by saying that I walked into this place with certain expectations and boy were they exceeded. Lets me start by saying how warm and inviting the staff was. While tearing up this concoction of shrimps, scallops, crab and cheeeeeese my mouth had an orgasm, something I never thought was possible. My mouth is watering as I write this. Oh I almost ordered another one. Next time I may just order 2 dips as my main meal. That's how I feel about this dip. For the main meal I ordered the blackened fish tacos and the bang bang shrimp tacos. Let me tell you, I was torn between them both but I must say the bang bang shrimp tacos pack a nice spicy touch. James, James, James. He was the only perk to our night. I enjoy coming here but a few things were off during my last experience which makes me question my return. I don't know if it was because of covid or what. But everything was off. The bar service was slow. Drinks were not mixed properly. Food did not come out great. Went here for a private event and it was great. They have a shrimp that is so addictive called the "bang bang", I had about 5 plates of the shrimp alone. The grilled chicken was also amazing. Staff was friendly and kept coming over to make sure things were good with our group. Sweetie found some sort of discount coupon on line for BG. It was local and so were we and I'd never been and wanted seafood -- so we went. Commoditizing seafood is a dicey proposition for me. I mean, its not like unbranded gasoline for your car -- even though at some cellular level -- eating seafood means energy. I don't expect a Michelin star experience every time I eat out -- and sometimes chow down is just fine -- but I do need more than just survival dining. Like Crocodile Dundee said about foraging in the wild -- "well you can live on it, but it tastes like s&it." I did not expect survival dining at Bonefish Grill -- but got it anyway. BG is a commoditized seafood experience, similar to its related chains, Outback, Carrabba's and others (all owned by Bloomin' Brands -- a publicly traded company with 1500 stores worldwide). This casual dining concept gets you fed, and if you choose wisely, fed reasonably well and easy on your pocketbook. But you must moderate your expectations -- and suffer through vigorous up selling and exaggeration during your meal that you get from a young and eager service staff. Yesterday's meal was disappointing despite the pleasant ambiance and staff. Strong gin martini's helped us laugh it off. Not sure I would try this location again. I won't belabor the food errors, but raw sea bass (see pic) 'aint cool, and neither is gummy shrimp, chewy ceviche, and scallops drowned in funky mayonnaise. Just about everything was soaked with butter and salt -- the classic coverup for old and/or poorly executed seafood. The manager was all sorts of apologetic about my raw sea bass and cut our bill in half and bought me a gratis martini and sea bass dinner to boot (cooked perfectly this time) -- which accounts for the 2 stars. Ironically enough, we never used the discount coupon that brought us here in the first place -- and that's just as well -- didn't want to add insult to injury. read more
