I came here for a Yelp Elite event, and it was wonderful. The service was stellar, the restaurant warm & inviting and the food was so enjoyable! We started off by beginning with our first course: appetizers. We were started off by warm bread with a lovely olive oil for dipping. Our server thoughtfully explained what exactly was included in the olive oil and it was great. After this we were also quickly given a delicious cosmopolitan. This was in the style of bonefish grill and it was such a great treat! During this course we were also served bang bang shrimp, crispy calamari and sliders. Each appetizer was thoroughly enjoyable. Moving into the second course we didn't realize we would be served a different drink. For this course we had a Chardonnay. I skipped the wine but others at the table said it was good. For our main course we had a seafood risotto. It seemed a bit different than your typical risotto, but it was a welcome change. The scallops were tender the shrimp was tasty and the pesto sauce added just the right touch. ALL in all it was a very nice risotto dish. For third and final course we were served at insanely delicious chocolate espresso martini. It was highlighted by Sugar rim and chocolate shavings. As a part of dessert we also had a really good gluten-free brownie. The raspberry sauce on top was just with the brownie needed to put it over-the-top. Throughout the whole experience I kept noticing how great the service was. The bartenders, servers and the manager always had a presence and we're always happy to help answer any questions. They really made the whole experience very unique to the Paramus location and that was what made this dining experience different than all the other bonefish experience I've had thus far. Although the food and service is very good the overwhelming smell of sewage in the bar area makes it unbearable to enjoy your food and drinks. The restrooms are in the hall that takes you to hotel and what I was told it's the hotels responsibility for the problem. Everytime that door opens to the bar area it takes over the entire room. The bartenders and servers say it's been an issue for a long time but hotel won't do anything. Bone fish needs to insist on better standards from them ! It's really disgusting. read more

I recently enjoyed outdoor dining with a close friend recently at Bonefish Grill. They had a great set up outside of the restaurant with a giant tent and tables all distanced from each other. We had gone on a Sunday night for dinner and surprisingly, we were seated immediately with a very short wait. Our waiter was very kind and patient with us as we conversed and were catching up and it took us a while to focus to choose our dinner. We had decided on appetizers of a calamari and crab cake nacho dip that was on their specials menu. The calamari was delicious but that crab cake dip appetizer blew us away! It was served a crab cake sitting on a bed of melted cheese, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. That was our favorite! I had also ordered this tropical beverage and that was refreshing. For entrees, we had ordered fish tacos and the steak and shrimp special. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. The steak was cooked perfectly as I had requested and served with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The tacos were served with crisp and flavorful french fries. I wouldn't normally make the choice to go to a chain restaurant, but I was meeting a friend near where she lives and she chose it. I'd eaten there before, but had not eaten at a restaurant since covid quarantine started (takeout several times), so I was a bit leery. Turned out that I had nothing to complain or worry about! In front of the restaurant, the parking lot, is a huge tent, open on 3 sides. We had an early reservation (5), so we had our choice of tables when we got there. I was able to choose a 4-top for the 2 of us, and at the edge so it was like being outside, with good air circulation. Our server wore his mask at all times. I am in the habit of wearing my mask at all times except when I am actually eating or drinking if I'm not in my own home, so I kept mine on even if there was a drink or food in front of me, if I wasn't actively engaged in consuming it. A table gets covered with a heavy-duty paper when someone new sits down, so that was good, too. I was surprised that we could handle a paper menu, which I presume (but I admit I'm not 100% positive) might then be handled better other patrons. Anyway, as for the food! It was happy hour, so we each had the special "martini" of the day, a blueberry lemon drop. Pretty good, made with Absolut Citron vodka, blueberry purée (supposedly) and bitters. We got Bonefish's traditional dish of olive oil and sliced bread for us to dip. My main was something I've actually enjoyed there on a prior visit, the grilled ahi tuna, and it was prepared perfectly as I'd asked, "black and blue" (blackened on the outside, virtually raw inside)! Yum! Good spice level on the blackening seasoning. I had the sautéed spinach and seasonal vegetables (green beans that night) as my two sides. Delicious! My friend had the Thermidor seafood and loved it, taking some home for the next day's lunch. We splurged and shared a dessert, the Jen's coconut custard pie, which they split in the kitchen for us (always appreciated). That was amazingly delicious, not cloyingly sweet. All in all, for my very first dinner foray out in more than 6 months, other than most customers not keeping their masks on (even when ordering, so rude!), I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the tables were spaced far enough apart (unlike most places in Manhattan, where I live) that I felt completely safe. read more

I really enjoyed being seated right away, and having a server come up to me with a menu right away, and I knew what it was I wanted , so I asked for a Corona and ordered my meal and then waited and waited and waited. Did not see my server once pass by , but others did . Finally got someone's attention because they brought my food to the table and I asked about my drink. I've been to this location several times during the pre-covid and current covid era. This place is now becoming one of my real go-to places to hit up due to their good outdoor setup. They have an immense tent which covers a wide swath of outdoor tables in the parking lot. The tables are well spaced, offer a lot of distance between diners and their staff does an excellent job of maintaining safe protocols when dealing with customers. As for the food, it's the usual solid mix of their bang bang shrimp and imperial dip appetizers that I always stick with. I also often rotate between either their baked cod w/crab, steak + crab cake combo or cod imperial. All of them are solid choices. In addition to the food - the service here is 100% consistent and top notch. We've interacted with many different servers and they always are professional, efficient and friendly. It's no surprise that this place gets pretty packed on the weekends and it's pretty clear that many others share the same vibe when it comes to the overall mix of food, service and safety. read more

My siblings and I took my parents out for dinner. Despite having dined at other Bonefish locations and having enjoying the food (this time included too), the service at this particular restaurant was one of the worst I've encountered. We arrived on time for our reservation at 6 pm - and were seated with menus. After approximately 20+ minutes, our finally server came to our table to take our beverage order. Recognizing she didn't come until 20 minutes after we were seated, we entered our order all at once (drinks- literally a glass of wine and a coke and waters for the table, 2 appetizers, and 6 entrees.) My father received his wine promptly. As one staff member dropped it off, she said "Gotta wait for the bread first, sir!" (Waiting seemed to be the theme of the night!) Bread came out about 5 minutes later --- now about 30 minutes from originally seating. To make is worse, guess what?, our waters and my mother's coke arrived after we finished our appetizers... The server came over and apologized once we were done with our appetizer to check-in. She mentioned that she saw that we didn't have our waters and asked her manager how could "the back" not bring us water before. So, wait? If you saw, why didn't you chime in and take care of your customers? (Or better yet, why not the managers step in and help their staff and deliver waters to customers who have been waiting for 30 minutes?) When our food finally arrived, it was delivered haphazardly - three dishes coming first and the remaining two following after a few minutes. (Not a big deal in the grand scheme of it all.) The dishes though dropped off to the table with the the appetizer plates and small plates still there. No one came to collect the small plates before entrees arrived! I had to personally hand them over to the food runner after he dropped the dishes off and asked, "Can I get anyone anything?" (Ummm, yeah, clearing the table would be nice!) Waiter did come to check on us. She asked us if we wanted the check. "Yes, please!" She dropped off the check and collected two main dishes "Let me get these out of your way!" but kept all of the other dishes on the table. Having worked in the restaurant industry for some time , I understand busy Saturday nights. I get - I really do....However, there are basic expectations to make customers feel they're truly dining out. Waiting for water until after finishing appetizers? Bread arriving after drinks? Serving entrees while appetizer plates linger untouched, not clearing them until prompted by customers? It's simply unacceptable in my opinion, even if it's a chain restaurant! There's so excuse to not do small gestures and pleasantries. The food was good, but the service... seriously not good at all. Today February 1 I visited the Paramus New Jersey location. A very disappointing evening or 25 minutes I'll say. At just 5 PM and a maybe 15% capacity I ordered my meal from a waitress who took my order and that was the end. While I watched the head chef (manager) I believe dine with a woman manager I also believe be served in the middle of the dining room with Martinis bottle of wine appetizers and constant return service I waited for these 25 minutes with nothin in site including my waitress. We were staying at the attached hotel and ate here after a long day of travel. The inside is standard American restaurant ambiance and felt cozy and clean. The staff were polite, professional, and experienced. We waited a little long at certain times, but it was somewhat late and they were still busy. The complimentary bread is delicious. I ordered the chicken off the grill and was more than happy I did. The chicken was juicy, cooked fully, and piping hot. It came with green beans and mashed potatoes that were equally amazing. Oh yeah! My experience here with my boyfriend was excellent. Our waiter was very kind and attentive. He gave us extra pesto oil that comes with the bread while waiting for our entrees. We enjoyed the oil. It was very good. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp which never seems to fail. I had to knock off a star because the size of the lobster tail, I didn't think, was worth the amount. I ordered the Cold Water Lobster Tails with Potatoes Au Gratin and Coleslaw. I enjoyed both my sides. The potatoes were on the heavier side and the coleslaw was not drenched in mayonnaise giving my whole meal well balanced. For dessert we got the Macadamia Nut Brownie which came with a flourless brownie, raspberry sauce, vanilla ice cream, sprinkled with macadamia nuts. The brownie is just to die for. It pains me to write a lukewarm review for this particular Bonefish Grill, but I feel like I ought to be honest with it. This restaurant feels so fancy, and with prices to match, the service is great, but the food quality does not catch up. We went to an awesome Bonefish Grill Yelp Elite event in Denver, CO about a year ago, and decided to go to this location in NJ when we were visiting for a spa weekend. We had some gift cards to use which sweetened the deal. We ordered the dinner for two, which came with an appetizer of salad, Boom Boom Shrimp. The main dish was a combination of seared tuna, ceviche, mango salsa, steak as far as I remember. The salad was similar to one you would get at your local takeout pizza place. Bland combination of vegetables thickly cut, a little dry, not great. The Boom Boom Shrimp was ok - although the sauce was good, something was off about the way it seems to have been cooked this time - the fried breading did not stay on the shrimp and was falling off into a mushy paste with the sauce. The dinner for two also was average - ok sauces and the mango salsa was not too great, the fish and meats were a little on the drier side and not juicy. The food was just ok, average at best, and for a place like this with the decor and ambiance of a fancy upscale restaurant, the quality just does not make sense. It's as if this restaurant is having an identity crisis and doesn't exactly know what it is. At this time, we knew our evening would be an enjoyable one as Kylie exhibited a good degree of personality, communicative skills, as well as providing us with more than ample time to decide on our dinner. We then ordered our drinks while we mused over the menu. Once my wife and I made our choices, our Server returned to take our orders. It should be pointed out that Kylie continued to show excellent listening skills while she assisted us by responding to several questions regarding the Grill's fare. I then asked her to delay serving our Mains until such time that we had finished our Starters. Our food was quite good yet it appeared that our portions had been carefully measured prior to platting. My wife's fish amounted to a few fork fulls; my steak, although perfectly grilled, was not reflective, in size, of it's price point. There were obvious differences in treatment between my table and the booth behind me, which I'm not even going to get into in depth. Overall he rushed us and would run away before we even finish speaking whereas he took his time with the second table and was all smiles. On 4/21/23 I dined at this restaurant. There were ants on our table. And the waiter killed the ants with his hand and never washed afterwards. He never moved our seat. When the food came out there were ants crawling g on the plate. They refunded my plate. Charged for everything else even though we DID NOT AND WOULD NOT EAT IT. Horrible experience. Just like my yelp experience. I ordered the lily chicken with added shrimp. Both great! Even my two year old liked them both! We also had a medium sirloin with a lobster tail. Nice place. We made a reservation on a Saturday night. When we arrived we were seated right away. We were taken to a table in the back room, separate from the main dining area which was much quieter but not as nicely decorated as the main dining area. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The bang bang shrimp is definitely popular for a reason! It was so good! Crispy and flavorful. I ordered the sirloin steak medium well and it was nice and juicy on arrival. I enjoyed my sides as well. I chose the white sangria to drink which was very tasty. I was tipsy midway through it! Haha (lightweight). The second sangria I ordered had a bug in it. I mentioned this to the server who quickly apologized and sent out a new sangria soon afterwards. Thought maybe It woulda been on the house but they charged me for it. It's whatever though.
