Hidden BRUNCH gem! Boozy brunch might i add! Me and a girlfriend came here this past Sunday for their bottomless bubbles brunch. The hours are from 11-3 every Sunday. We arrived at about 1 and it was not crowded at all. The price for the unlimited bubbles is 19.9. (good price!) You can either have mimosas, bellinis or the blackberry sangria. We stuck with mimosas the whole time. We ordered the sangria but it was way way too sweet. Melted lollipop status. We started with the imperial dip. Awesome!. It had so much fish and cheese in it. It was a perfect way to start the meal. We both ordered omelettes for our main meal. You can either have steamed asparagus or potatoes au gratin for a side. Both of our meals came out great. I ordered the Oscar and my friend had the Cajun shrimp one. Mine had fresh crab meat and asparagus, cheese stuffed inside. So delicious. I had the potatoes for a side and she had the asparagus. The asparagus were huge! Either side would complement your dish well. The service was OK. I believe our server was new and he didn't bring out the delicious bread with pesto sauce when we first sat down. We had to ask for it about an hour into our meal. But he was quick with refilling our drinks. I will be frequenting this brunch more often to try other dishes and to take advantage of this great deal. read more

Initially, I was skeptical about this place. I had always passed it on the way to the mall and my opinion of it was that it was something like a red lobster you might find next to a Howard Johnson. Everything about the location of the restaurant deterred me from ever having an interest to eat there. So when it was suggested as a place to have my birthday dinner, I was appalled. Long story short, I can't believe what a gem Bonefish Grill is. The decor is modern and definitely nothing like I would have guessed. Maybe it's due to the fact that I had heard it was completely redone at some point. Bravo. The food was good and it was different, which I'm always a fan of. The bacon wrapped scallops were delicious; scallops were cooked the way they should be and the bacon wrapped around it perfectly. Plus the bacon had a wonderfully smoky flavor, and seemed to lack a lot of the fat and grizzle that you come to expect with it. The only odd thing was that there was a clear jelly on top of the scallop that I couldn't make out. It didn't taste bad but it was a little off-putting. As other reviewers have stated, the crab cakes were mostly crab, no filler. Always a good thing. My entree was the grilled chicken with goat cheese, sauteed spinach and artichokes. Yum! Oh and did I mention the prices? Very very reasonable for food this good. Someone else had the filet mignon was beautifully done and it was under $20. Most of the fish was under $20, with a few exceptions. Desert was one of the specials; coconut custard pie in a rum sauce with whipped cream. Do I really need to tell you how good it was? Let me start off by saying that the corn lobster chowder is AMAZING! I am soooo glad that I ordered it. So rich, creamy and delicious! Not to mention it was packed with huge chunks of lobster. This would have to be one of my NEW favorite soups. The other appetizers that we had (we had all appetizers for dinner) were the scallops wrapped in bacon, crab cakes and scallop, shrimp, veggie dip special (I forgot the exact name). The scallops wrapped in bacon were okay. The bacon tasted like it was a little over cooked. The mango salsa that was on top was extremely good. Complimented the rest of the dish perfectly. The crab cakes were very very good. They were super moist with a ton of crab. There have been time that I have gotten crab cakes out and it is mostly breading. This was mostly crab with a hint of breading. Defiantly a favorite! The shrimp, scallop, veggie dip special was so-so. My friend really loved it, but I thought it was just okay. I always heard great things about this place, so we finally give it a try. It was packed, people waiting to get in...good sign that the place is well liked. Well, let me start by saying upon walking in the floor was sticky, not just in one spot, but the entire bar area. After a few minutes we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. There was a odor, not quite sure what it was but quite unpleasant. Possible mildew maybe from the dirty rag they use to clean the bar. Management needs to be more attentive to the cleanliness in general. Two good things, the bar staff was great and attentive and the drinks were very good! We will not back anytime soon. read more

Had a great dinner w the family but this review is more for the excellent service we received from our waiter Chris. We had the crab cake and bang bang shrimp for apps, i had the bacon wrapped scallops and cob salad. Hubby had trout and everyone else had one of the specials of filet mignon. Back to our server- Chris was just really good at his job, he was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Lots if times people are just going through the motions but not the case with him at all. Bonefish grill is a glorified chain resturant. They have a ton of locations and are owned by the same company that owns Outback. Their food is exactly what you would expect from this type of resturant. It is a little more upscale from what you would expect from a chain resturant, but is nothing to rave about. The more times I go there, the more I see the chain aspect of things. I do keep returning there, because the food is good. I wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't. There is always a long wait to eat there on the weekends, but that is completely understandable. I love the 3 olives martini and the bang bang shrimp. As far as their main entrees, I have had some that I loved, and some that I was extremely disappointed with. All the grilled fish entrees with your choice of sauce are great. That is pretty much all I would go with if I go there, because I am nervous that I may not like anything else. My fiance's parents ordered a special sampler for 2 the last time that we were there, and there was enough food on the plate to leave 1 person hungry. Overall, good food, good drinks, but still just a chain resturant and nothing more. read more

I had dinner here tonight and the experience was solid, but I don't think I'd return if I was in Paramus.We arrived early (5:30) so getting a table wasn't a problem. We were a group of 5 and the service was pretty prompt. I liked the decor of the restaurant, it was large and we didn't feel crammed at all. They had a great happy hour special til 6 (3.50 wine, 4.00 wells), but I wasn't in the mood. As for the food, I wasn't about to go to a seafood joint and not order some for my entree. First, I sampled the tomoato/pepper soup and it was pretty bleh. The bread they brought to the table though was crispy and good (especially with the olive oil). I admit, I was at the dentist earlier getting a cleaning and he used a numbing agent for my gums which wasn't 100% worn off, so maybe my taste buds weren't as accurate as normal. I thought the Fish Tacos were on the blander side. I've had some really good fish tacos recently, so the bar was set pretty high. My brother agreed. My mom also had an issue with an undercooked burger, so while the trip to Bonefish Grill was nice, it could have certainly been better. read more

Entree prices approaching $30 were a little expensive. The garlicky mashed potatoes were creamy & smooth. The succotash vegetables were soggy. The asparagus that accompanied my husband's sea bass were woody, limp and almost inedible. So while your fish entree will be cooked to perfection, almost every other aspect of the meal is disappointing. Given the choice for a seafood dinner I would head to Oceanos in Fairlawn or Seafood Gourmet in Maywood. Well, I was excited to go here and was really let down. The night started with a bored and uninterested hostess. She told us it would be 15 to 20 min wait. After a 40 min wait we went inside to be ignored by the hostess for five min and see that couples who came in after us were seated first. We chose to let that go. We were seated and our waitress came by and spat out specials sounding like she would rather be doing anything else. Every time we saw her( when we could find her) she was uninterested. The food was underwhelming. We started with the bacon wrapped scallops. The scallops were good but the mango salsa was gross. The mangos tasted like slimy canned peaches. The lobster bisque soup really messed us up. It was ridiculously rich and tasted like a stick of butter melted with some bits of lobster. Sooooo gross Our entrees were pretty good, probably the only saving grace. I had the lobster roll which was thankfully not covered in mayo but tossed with celery and onions. Very good. My fiancé had the fish and chips which were also very well cooked and crunchy. Unfortunately the soup made us feel like we had rocks in our stomachs and really couldn't enjoy the main course. For a seafood chain, this place surprisingly serves good food! Location: Bonefish Grill is located in a hotel that is next to the Paramus Park Mall. There is ample parking around the hotel, so you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a place to park even when this place gets crowded. Food: I recommend the Bang Bang Shrimp and Mussels Josephine for appetizers. The complimentary bread that they serve is also really good. If you order an entree you can add a cup of the corn chowder for a few dollars. It's really heavy, but has good taste to it. It's a safe bet if you stick with their specialties. There's a starfish/star next to the item on the menu to indicate that it's a specialty. The vanilla creme brulee is good. I get this everytime I come here! The portion size is reasonable so do share. Service: If you plan on eating her on the weekends, make a reservation. Otherwise you will find yourself waiting in the hotel lobby for an hour. The waiters here are friendly and attentive. Overall: This place is a step up in price from Red Lobster, but a little bit below other seafood restaurant such as Legal Seafood, Mccormick, and the Oceanaire. Went here the other night with my husband. It had been a long time since I ate here, and it was a nice reminder of why I liked it the first time around. I agree with everyone about the bang bang shrimp - they are a great starter. My husband and I shared an entree of Mahi Mahi which they were nice enough to split up in the kitchen. It was delicious - served alongside mashed potatoes which were also creamy and tasty. The service was great. The Thai Iced Tea I ordered was gross (I guess I should have known better ordering Thai Iced Tea here) and the waitress took it back, no questions asked. I also questioned a fish "topping" they used to have and when she was unsure, she had the Manager check who was also extremely pleasant and got us exactly what we wanted - even though it wasn't on the menu. Overall, this place isn't cheap but I feel like it's a great restaurant for being a chain and certainly isn't lacking in great service or food. I will definitely be back. read more

Five of us recently visited the Bonefish Grill for a delicious dinner with excellent service. Particularly good were the bang bang shrimp and tuna appetizers. But it was the bread and oil with herbs stole the show! Two of us had jerk chicken salad which while flavorful was not at all spicy even though we had requested extra spicy (in fairness we could have sent them back but opted to eat with the others in our party). My girlfriend loved her chicken with goat cheese and the remaining two people in our party were were equally satisfied with their tilapia. If your Black do not go to the Paramus location! I'm so disappointed! All I wanted was the BangBang Shrimp and crab fries but instead I was totally disrespected by one of the staff who appeared to be one of the Chefs. She greeted patrons at the the table next to us, then walked past us and greeted the patrons that had just sat down at the table behind us. She looked me in my face and then walked past us again and greeted the table diagonal from us. I couldn't believe it. And if that was not enough the waiter brought out the bread with the olive oil and herbs and put it on the table and left. No plates given, no napkins given. We sat there waiting for him to come back but he did not after 5 minutes of waiting. I asked the black bus boy if he could please get us some plates and napkins w/utensils. While we waiting for this gentleman the waiter walked by and I told him that we needed plates and napkins and he walked away to get them. He came back about 5 more minutes later and dropped the plates in the table and said here! No napkins, no utensils given by him. I couldn't take it anymore and asked for the manager- who came over and I explained to him what happened and he offered to give us another table with a different waiter. I was mortified at this point and we got up and left! This was a horrible experience for us! Unexceptionable! I didn't want to even give it 1 star but you have to to post review! read more

Eh, just OK. To be fair, it is the Friday before Valentine's Day so it was super crowded. Walked in and was hurried to a t i n y table basically squeezed between two normal tables. Overheard the waitress tell someone it's extra seating for Valentines. OK, forgivable. The food that followed was far from forgivable. The bread and oil was the highlight of our meal. After hearing about "bang bang" shrimp since Bonefish opened, we had to try it. Not great.Tried the special lobster stuffed shrimp, oily, garlicky mess. Now I was assured they had the best Caesar salad in NJ by my waitress, we waited for this amazing, scratch dressing, or maybe kitchen made croutons. What followed was a "TGI Friday's" goopy, cold, generic salad. The entrees were both miserable bland, and boring. Worst offender was the rice that came with the Tuna Bowl.. What was that? oatmeal mixed with paper mache? We left as quickly as possible, no dessert. Bonefish is a prime example of a "fast food chain" restaurant. Serving seafood in a Bennigans style is not such a great idea. No one wants shrimp/tuna/fish to come flying out of the kitchen 3 minutes after ordering. Just not worth my time or money. read more

I've been here 4 times this year for both the happy hour and for dinner. Since my last review (from 2014 which I just deleted) the restaurant has much improved. Excellent happy hour. Crispy cod sliders and Wagyu beef sliders very good. Also had the Bonefish house salad, larger than expected. Parmesan crusted rainbow trout and Tilapia also very good and the side vegetables were cooked well and served hot. If you don't like seafood, the Wagyu beef burger is excellent. I really love the Wagyu beef & ginger potstickers, served with soy sauce. I prefer the Thai coconut shrimp over the signature Bang Bang shrimp. The fish tacos are good too. What's lacking here are the desserts, so don't expect too much in that department. Very friendly service & nice atmosphere. Yvonne did a great job with my happy hour group. read more

We were seated immediately which was great because they looked busy. They're getting a 1 star because after being seated the staff ignored us for close to 20 minutes before we walked out. The usual crowd is pretty old. Several old groups came in after us and were seated around us and were immediately waited on. To the extent that grandchildren stories were being told to the waitress. Maybe we were in no man's land. It's kind of ridiculous how many wait staff walked past us and our menus. It feels like the staff have adapted to their clientele and move at their pace rather than an actual restaurant. read more

We came here on a weekday evening, about 50% full, not packed but not empty. Our server was very helpful, she didn't rush us at all and she had no problems accommodating requests. The last time we dined at a Bonefish grill there was a garlic/lemon/crab sauce that could be added to any fish. On the menu that didn't exist. We asked the server about that, she said she will check with the chef. When she walked away the manager came by, asked us about our request, suggested an option and took care of it for us. It was great to see the manager be so involved. We ordered the bang bang shrimp (of course) nice spice, good crispyness; Ceviche, it was very tangy and all the fish was tender but not chewy; Entree we ordered the mahi mahi with the garlic/lemon/crab topping, it was great. Bonefish does not feel like a chain, the food is great quality and the service has always been good. We got seated right away in the first room, much too noisy so we asked to be sat in the back room....much better. Since my last review (which for now I'm keeping below) this location has made every effort to to improve my experiences. After ordering a salad for lunch take-out I received a call asking how everything was. I've sat at the bar for a drink - they make the most flavorful Bloody Mary I've had so far - and placed an order to take dinner home. I had a good experience this time. I have been to this location with co-workers and had good experiences then, too. We had excellent wait staff, drinks came out much quicker, and the manager stopped by to ask how everything was. They really tried hard to improve the experience and I will return again and again. We sat near the bar and got our appetizer. The server was friendly, but said he wanted to space out our food, so our soup and sandwiches would be out later (we wanted everything all at once). We accepted the situation and ordered a drink to pass the time. It was noon on a Tuesday, not many customers, but the tender was very slow. She was also serving food to tables. We tried to order a pina colada. The bartender said "It's not worth ordering that drink here, they're not very good here." The waiter agreed, in 8 years working there no one orders a pina colada. We thought it was strange the person making the drink would say they had a 'bad' drink. We ordered whatever signature drink was on the menu card instead - it had a slice of jalapeno in it, it was good. Food was pretty good, drinks were good, service was just very slow for such a calm time of day. We went for lunchtime, it was delious. We split the Thai coconut shrimp, it was very Tasty. I believe they gave us maybe 8 shrimps, which was enough to split. I had Tilapia grilled with a small sauce of mango and another of pesto. We also, split the dessert, which was creme brule. All I can say is WOW! It was pricey, that's the only negative a can say about it. Even the restaurant was decorated beautifully. read more

Two nights ago, my husband and I had planned a date night out. He took to this yummy restaurant. He and I had never been to this place before. When we came in, it was busy. The front desk says about 35 minute wait. That's fine! It turned out we waited only 10 minutes. Bonus! We sat down and looked at our menu. Our waiter was absolutely nice. He was young and very respectful. The atmosphere was romantic and clean. I ordered mussels for appetizer. Oh my goodness! Can you say delicious? It was the best I've ever had. For our entree I ordered fish and chips. My husband ordered the house salad with heart of Palm and sirloin steak with crab cakes. Okay! I've had crab cakes in many different restaurants but by far, this crab cake...was pretty awesome! My husband loved his steak too. He said it was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend and I just came here for the first time and we will absolutely be back soon! Our waiter Dan was absolutely incredible! Our drinks, appetizers, and meals all came out perfectly timed. The food was hot and delicious. Dan was happy to suggest the great seasonal options that were available. He also made us amazing our martinis! Very cool how our server also made our drinks and he always smiling and laughing at my boyfriend's stupid jokes (so I didn't have to). We can't wait to come back soon! My mother RAVES about this place. We had to wait an hour for a table and she made us wait. We had drinks in the mean time and I should tell you now that their drinks are the ONLY reason they're getting 3 stars instead of 2. The drinks were really good. Nice and stiff. My mom's Cosmo was made the way I think a Cosmo should be made. With Cointreau, real lime juice and just a splash of cranberry. We got seated and the service was prompt and put up with my now thoroughly liquored up mother not acting appropriately. For an appetizer, we ordered the crab cakes and the bang bang shrimp. The crab cakes we the highlight of the meal and I highly recommend them. All crab-no filler. The bang bang shrimp were more of a novelty than truly good. They weren't as spicy as I had hoped, kind of lacked flavor and were a bit too saucy(think mayonnaise!) for my liking. They were, however, very crunchy and that is a good thing. For dinner I had the shrimp and scallops with the chimichurri. The scallops and shrimp were coated in some unfathomable Cajun style rub. It totally drowned out the flavor of the shrimp and scallops and it was so salty I couldn't bear it. The chimichurri was also overpowered by the amount of cajun seasoning that was on the seafood. They threw some nasty corn and lime bean type thing on every plate like my grandma would do when I was a little girl and always hated. That, my dears, is not something you should be getting in a restaurant! It was HIDEOUS! The plates looked completely out of order. No presentation what so ever. It was just awful. I'm so sorry that with the few other REALLY good restaurants in the area, that I was forced to eat Applebee's quality food. read more
