Looking for something around the same price as Popeyes or KFC but want better quality, great service, and delicious sides? Don't settle. Come to Bonchon! Just look at the generous portions and the amazing variety of sauces you can get with their chicken. If you haven't tried Korean fried chicken yet, you're seriously missing out. Bonchon is one of my favorite go-to spots. Today I got half Original and half Yangyum, which is my favorite, paired with pickled radish. It was such a great combo. The chicken was absolutely delicious and the portion was generous, perfect for two people or more. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and located right in downtown Mountain View. You have to try it!

In the bustling world of Castro Street sits Bonchon, a chain beloved to many. My friend, who lived above a Bonchon at the University of Pennsylvania, was excited to return and try California's version of the chain. For me, I hadn't been to a Bonchon in a couple of years, so I was excited to return. When we arrived on a Friday around 6pm, we were seated expeditiously with a couple of other open tables around us. A nice, clean storefront with TVs playing on all walls, as well as music flowing through the store. We ordered the soy garlic wings and the house friend rice with spicy chicken - talk about chicken love :) The house friend rice was pretty good - definitely hit the spot. The chicken wasn't too spicy, but the dish was a tad bit oily. Prop tip - use the cucumber as a palatte cleanser. The soy garlic wings were amazing as always - very consistent quality across all locations. We love how it's both sweet and savory, honestly one of the best wings I've had in a while. Perfect as a post-work, weekend-opener dinner. Can't wait to come back with coworker-turned-friends and try the Korean tacos, popcorn shrimp, and the bulgogi fries. Top that all off with Korean donuts and it's a plan!

Loved this place! I've been walking past it many many times but only this weekend came there for lunch. I've been starving after a long hike so was really happy about the fast service & tasty food. I was a bit cautious about coming it because of some negative reviews but that proved to be the opposite: both waiters that day were very attentive to all the customers, offered refills fast, cleaned up efficiently. Will be back to try more meals!

Came to Bonchon in Mountain View around 8:30 on a Wednesday night. Plenty of open seats, super clean inside, and chill vibe. We only waited a couple of minutes for our server. Ordered the zucchini fries and boneless spicy chicken--both were SO good! The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and had the perfect kick, and the zucchini fries were such a tasty surprise. Portions were big enough that we even took some home, and it reheated really well. Overall, a great experience--tasty food, quick service, and an easy spot for dinner when you're craving Korean fried chicken. Definitely coming back!

Heartily enjoyed our 5-person dinner at Bonchon in Mountain View. Having first experienced Bonchon in Philadelphia, we came with high hopes for the Korean fried chicken and were not disappointed! The vibe is bright and fresh and service was friendly and helpful--we were able to find plenty for our one vegetarian diner. We got a large mixed (wings and drumsticks) order of chicken--half Yangnyeom and half Korean BBQ--with complimentary pickled radish. We added a side of coleslaw, an order of pork belly Bao Buns (3 steamed buns with cucumbers, coleslaw, spicy mayo, and katsu sauce), an order of Korean Street Corn (grilled corn with Kewpie mayo, mozzarella, garlic, Korean red chili flakes, and green onion), tofu Bibimbap (rice with scrambled egg, lettuce, carrots, sauteed onions, spinach, and mushrooms), vegetable Potstickers (eight fried dumplings, brushed with soy garlic), and vegetarian Japchae (glass noodles, red bell pepper, carrots, onions, spinach, mushrooms, sans bulgogi, stir-fried with soy garlic sauce and sesame oil topped with sesame seeds). The fried chicken was piping hot and perfectly crispy--we were evenly split between preference for Yangnyeom vs Korean BBQ. Would recommend every dish we ordered (though think the Bibimbap and Japchae would have been even tastier with the bulgogi).

Super chill, server was very attentive and let me use the wifi after eating. Mopo corndog was lit, chicken was juicy and tender, I didn't really even use my sauce because I feel the flavors were good on their own.

The nutrition facts page for Bonchon clearly states the side of coleslaw should be 6oz. Not 2oz.

I visited Bonchon after the lunch rush hour around 230pm. I asked the cashier about the size of the sides of coleslaw. The cashier Yasmeen specifically showed me the size of a red and white cup (looked about 4oz). I asked her if there were any larger sizes. She went to the back to check, came back, and advised there was not. I ordered a total of 6 sides of coleslaw, a small meal of 4 drums (soy garlic) with coleslaw as the side, one regular fry, and one seasoned fry to go. After waiting about 15 minutes my order was ready. I looked in the bag and to my surprise there was 5 small sides (2 oz) of coleslaw. I advised to the young lady that the coleslaw sides were incorrect. She asked me in detail what I ordered. I responded that I'll let the cashier explain since she was right behind her. The two of them quietly spoke and clarified. The women whom handed me my food advised there was a miscommunication about the size of the sides. She explained that the size of the 4oz cups are only for to go customers. I said my food is to go so can I please have the red and white cups (a total of 6) to go. I kindly advised that as a paying customer I was specifically shown a size, ordered what i needed, paid, and if I could please have what I ordered to go? She then proceeded to further explain how she was not able to give the red and white cups but only the 2 oz cups and she could give me 4 more. I advised as a customer, I would like what I paid for and if she was not able to provide that then I would like a full refund. She continued to try to negotiate about size of the cups. At that point I was so disappointed in her customer service skills, that I politely declined and just asked for a refund. She pointed me back to the cashier where Yasmeen was to issue my refund. Yasmeen apologized for her coworkers behavior and was just as appalled as I was regarding the sides of coleslaw. Unfortunately this place not only lost my buisness but I will be sure to tell others that live in the downtown area about my experience. Clearly this location just needs customer service training (except Yasmeen).

Udon Noodle Soup

We wanted to eat at Bonchon. We have a local location but when my husband tried to order online there wasn't anymore boneless options. We came here because they also offer udon noodles which my toddler loves. Arrived shortly after 5pm. One family in the midst of eating dinner. We were seated and given a highchair for our toddler. Ordered a beer, medium soy garlic boneless with daikon and an udon soup noodles. Everything was delicious. Our toddler preferred the udon noodles. The decor open and feels more spacious. One unisex bathroom in the back through a swinging the door.

We ordered at a kiosk. We took the food to-go, they were pretty packed inside. They did have additional seating outside but it was getting pretty late. The food was really good and the pricing wasn't too bad.

Came on a Tuesday night bc of a fundraiser... they are giving back 20% to a local elementary school, thankful for these bc they are helping the community! The service was amazing! Food came out as they are done in the kitchen so didn't seem much of a wait. Staff were attentive and checked in occasionally for water refills. We ordered quite a bit and the price was good for what we got. 1. Seasoned fries - loaded with Parmesan cheese! 2. Bulgogi bibimbap - very fulfilling and good mix 3. Takoyaki - beware it's hot when it comes! 4. Bulgogi tacos - yum 5. Pork buns - this is my fav & the pork is thick 6. Large combo - half plain & half soy garlic

First time to lunch here in MV , ordered 6 pieces wings with rice . The taste as unusual but wings with rice may not be a good match . I believe Bonchon chicken only good for tea or after dinner football game time . Good service and environment though , but I won't visit this place for lunch again :(

2nd time here, attentive servers and the Kloud beer is light and crisp. Got the 10 spicy wings with coke slaw. Each wing was done correctly. Very crispy and spicy! I had a craving for these and got my fill of them today. They didn't disappoint!

Not bad for a chain restaurant. Not great either. Kind of expensive for lunch, but not really a dinner sort of place.

I picked this restaurant because of its location, its spacious parking lot, and that they're not too crowded on weekends. We got a corner table inside a big room. Not only were they not completely full, the spacing between tables were pretty good as well. Staff were super friendly. It's a perfect place for us to catch up with each other without feeling rushed nor guilty. All four of us ordered the organic tofu soup. I had the mushroom one (medium spicy). It came piping hot with a raw egg. It was the perfect spicy level for me. (One of us ordered hot, and said that it was quite a bit more spicy than she expected.) I loved the assorted mushrooms inside my tofu soup. My friends all enjoyed their selections as well, and we loved the texture of the purple rice. The amount of ingredients inside the tofu soup was pretty generous. We also got refills for our banchans. There're 5 different kinds of banchans. They're on the sweeter side and not as flavorful as I would like, though. Overall, it's a delicious and satisfying lunch, and we all had a good time.

She is literally the only reason I am giving 4 stars it would be five if the food was better. For appetizers we ordered japchae and the mandu. I did not get even all of my first order, sat there for 30 minutes absolutely dumbfounded with nothing on the table, no water, empty beers, without all of the usual accoutrements that the meal is supposed to START with and just left cash and left. It's hilarious how downhill Gen restaurants have gone, they used to have 2 hour waits for them when San Jose was the only one and it was a good time where the servers put in a great nights work with the necessary support staff and weren't juggling 12 tables very poorly with their managers acting as food runners. I don't care about the money, it's the idea that this brand displaced a lot of independent korean restaurants when they became popular and this is what we ended up with, just about the worst service you can experience in any restaurant with the promise of a ton of food that never really shows up.

The all-you-can-eat is the move here. The meat quality is solid--the wagyu beef and spicy pork belly usually hit the spot on the grill. On the hot pot side, the pork bone broth is a safe bet, and the spicy broth actually has a decent kick to it. Also, they have those little fried buns with condensed milk that are dangerously good. They give ice cream at the end with a cone which is sweet dessert. The vibe is super lively and loud, definitely not a quiet dinner spot. Please be mindful when you decide which meat to be on the grill as majority of them is to be for hotpot. so it will dissolve on the grill the moment you realize it. - Meat quality is fine for AYCE. Since the portions are so small, you would have to order multiple rounds and there is a time block apparently so you dont over order. But the system is so slow and not intuitive at all.
