    Pho with egg roll
    Tony F.

If you are craving for a quick hot bowl of Pho and you are in the area, this is a pretty solid option. I ordered a small combo pho, and a fried egg roll. I was going have one of their classic Vietnamese dessert drinks but they no longer serve them. Instead, they have the boba drinks which I didn't feel like having at the time. Both items came quickly, and both are exactly how you'd expected, the quality is pretty consistent. I walked from the Residence Inn next door, and I was able to get back to my room within half an hour!

Was in the area visiting family in the hospital and felt like something tasty and Asian flavors. This pho place was the closest and seems decently rated. The staff were nice enough...but the food was missing something! I usually fix up my pho with lots of hoisin sauce and siracha but it didn't really help. I tried the broth before adding anything and it was nothing special...no distinguishing pho flavors stood out. The portions were small for it being considered large and the meat was skimpy and tough. The egg rolls were just ok. Edible but again, they were not close to the best I've had. They were a bit too big and greasy! So considering there are probably plenty of other pho places in the Bay Area, maybe try one of those. I'll give them 2 stars for nice staff and "edible" food but couldn't justify giving any more. :(

Phở Vi Hoa is located in a strip mall with Teaspoon. My wife and I were grabbing a quick bite before watching a movie and knew this place would be fast and quick. We've been here many times. We were seated quickly and our order was just as quick. Spring Roll - Fresh Vietnamese spring rolls with shrimp, pork, and vegetables. Served with peanuts sauce. My wife loves their peanut sauce that comes with the rolls. We were surprised that it came out so quickly. Unfortunantly, maybe pre-rolled. It was good, but noticed the ends of the rolls were harder. First time we experienced this as we've ordered it before and didn't have that same problem. P12 PHO DAC BIET BO VIEN - Steak, well done flank, brisket, tendon, shredded tripe, meatballs with noodles. I enjoyed it, pretty standard good bowl of Pho.

As mentioned by a few other reviewers, Pho Vi Hoa is no longer fantastic but still quite good. Everything is more expensive since the pandemic so it's hard to fault them for the price increase even though it does seem odd to pay $20 for pho. The broth is still the star of the show: rich and tasty. Other pho places are probably jealous. The meat used to be very high quality -- it's still solid but not the same. Get P11 if you're new and not sure. P06 for a little more fat and flavor. The other compelling item is the deep fried eggs roll. No, it's not good for you but it sure tastes good. It comes piping hot so wait a few mins before trying to eat it. These alone are a reason to consider four stars. But alas the little things drag it back down to three. My booth wasn't that clean (they promptly wiped it for me) and the water glasses look suspicious. Is Pho Vi Hoa still the best pho in the Mountain View area? I'm not sure -- might be time to do some taste testing.

    Vegetarian Spring Rolls
    Sonia N.

Honestly, this place was entirely underwhelming for the vegetarian options. The flavor was simply lacking in everything - the spring rolls could have used some fresh herbs, the vegetarian noodle soup (pho) base was very bland, and the vermicelli bowl did have a distinct fish flavor, so I am not sure if the au lac sauce was truly vegetarian. The service was very curt, as well. I wouldn't recommend, especially if you are vegetarian / vegan.

Great pho with flavorful broth. Staff is always incredibly friendly and attentive. Generally pretty quiet so you can always get a table.

The spring rolls are super tasty with the peanut sauce. We have been to many Vietnamese restaurants but these are the best.

We got seated and ordered water/our food. Majority of us got pho but two got rice plates. The food was good and pho broth is a solid meal. In terms of service, our food was served about 15 minutes later. We were missing someone's order and tried to give the benefit of the doubt so we waited longer. We waited another 10 minutes but then nothing so we tried to get the attention of the servers. They were busy so we weren't able to flag them down until 5-10 minutes. We told them we were missing a bowl of pho and they made it within 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately by the time we flagged them down and got the food, most of the table was done eating. Overall, the food was good but service was a little slow.

Los Altos is a quiet, sleepy town, and it's not exactly the first place you'd expect to find a Vietnamese spot, but this place is a gem that I really hope the locals support so it can thrive. * The Service: The service was standout. There was one young man handling both the register and the tables; he was incredibly friendly and had a big smile for everyone. He even gave my son a free smoothie that had been from a misplaced order, which my son absolutely loved. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. * The Food: I always believe you measure a Vietnamese restaurant by its Pho. It's the staple that gives you a window into the rest of the menu. * The Broth: For me, the broth is everything. You could have Wagyu or Kobe beef, but if the broth is bad, the whole bowl falls apart. I'm happy to say the broth here was excellent--flavorful, clean, and tasted fresh. Most importantly for me: it was served piping hot. Anything less than hot can ruin the experience, but they nailed the temperature. * The Meat & Sides: As you can see from the photo, the meat quality is a step above what you usually get. It was tender, textured, and full of flavor. All the sides--the sprouts, basil, and lemon--were noticeably fresh. * Popcorn Chicken: My son ordered this, and to be honest, it was pretty "meh." It seemed like your standard processed frozen bag variety, though it was at least fried to order. * The Price: At $19 for a bowl of Pho, some might call it the "Los Altos tax." However, when you consider that most bowls everywhere else are in the $15+ range now and don't offer this level of beef quality or such a well-crafted broth, the premium feels justified. You're paying for better ingredients. * The Environment: It is a modern, clean, and quiet space. While I love the energy of a bustling Castro Street, sometimes it's nice to have a peaceful place to eat closer to home. Now that I've found this, I don't have to drive far when a Vietnamese food craving hits! * The Bottom Line: Based on how good the Pho was, I'll definitely be back to work my way through the Banh Mi and the rest of the menu. If you're in the area, give this place a chance--it's high-quality, convenient, and deserves to be a local favorite. * Quick update - I came back the next day for a Banh MI sandwich, and when it was rung up - $15! It was quite a surprise, because all over the menu the sandwiches were listed as $9.95. A bad experience, and no banh mi is worth that much! Docking a star.

Aside from the ordering counter, the entire store is stuffed with a variety of snacks, drinks, and toys. Some of the snacks are familiarly American, but many are Vietnamese snacks/drinks more uncommon here, including fermented meats, honey comb cake, and more. According to their menu, they primarily serve bahn mis and other sandwiches, but you can order spring rolls. I love their spring rolls, and it's all I really order here.
