Stopped by Lequy for lunch and ordered the pho and bun bo hue. Both broths were rich, flavorful, and well-balanced, and the quality of the meat was noticeably better than what you'll find at many Vietnamese restaurants. The only downside was that both bowls felt a bit light on noodles. Also tried ordering the bo kho, but it was already sold out despite it still being lunchtime. Overall, the food quality was strong and I'd definitely come back - especially to try the bo kho.
palo alto vietnamese restaurant along middlefield road...sunday lunch and tables plenty...seated right away...big menu with $10.50 banh mi choices, signature dishes including pad thai, yellow curry, clay pot and more, and typical items like vermicelli, pho and rice plates....ordered a bbq pork vermicelli $16.25 and eye round pho $16.50...for the drink, salted cream vietnamese coffee $8.50...coffee came out first...it was strong, creamy and sweet...the bbq pork tasted fresh and marinated perfectly...the pho broth was flavorful and good...the portions were decently large and everything tasted good...
My wife and I love pho especially in a cold night. So she took me to a place in Mountain View. This surprised my taste bud. This Vietnamese restaurant serves tasty pho. They also highlight the generous portions, affordable prices, and comfortable atmosphere.
Claypot rice was yummy. Peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls was great. Prices were reasonable. Pretty good service! It's a neighborhood gem. I will come back try other claypot dishes and the pho!
My sisters wanted Vietnamese food and decided to try this place since it has good reviews on Yelp. I was disappointed. The calamari was bland. The shaken beef was so tough that we didn't even eat it. The sauce in the tofu mixed vegatable was too sweet. The egg coffee was too strong that it tasted bitter. The only thing that we enjoyed was the sea bass clay pot, but very small portion. Our bill came out to $100... not worth it.
Review is based on take out service. Ordered by phone with friendly service. There's plenty of parking in the shopping center. Looks like they only have indoor seating to dine in with nice decor and with a nice big storefront window.. Pick up was easy and was ready upon my arrival. The broth for the pho was still very hot by the time we arrived to our destination to enjoy our food. I appreciated the extra cling wrap packaged for the spring rolls and peanut sauce so that it wouldn't spill or get messy in the take out container. The avocado spring rolls were fresh though I do agree that the shredded lettuce makes it tend to follow apart quite easily. The dipping peanut sauce is really good not too thick and not too runny thin just the right consistency with good flavor as a complementary spring roll sauce. I thought the lemon grass tofu was rather small and portion, but maybe that could be the container that it was in and it did come with rice. The pho was overall good with lots of great veggies. Overall a satisfying meal.
Broth is made from bones- not powder- fresh noodles are an option but I prefer traditional pho noodles with more texture - huge amount of wagyu - clay pot rice hits the spot-but spring rolls not served with mint (boo) and the traditional fish sauce (double boo)
There I was, hungover and sick looking for something to cure me from a night of drinking. So, my partner and I made our way over to Lequy in Mountain View. We ordered the pho dac biet and the wagyu pho. I thought the pho was solid and definitely hit the spot, but wasn't anything extraordinary either. I think the presentation of the wagyu pho was really neat with the hot bowl of soup and meat on the side. But at the end of the day, it was just a bowl of pho with brisket. I think the pricing is fine, and is very on par with other Vietnamese restaurants in the bay area.
Fresh and quick, if somewhat bland for Vietnamese food. Not bad for the area. I ordered the BBQ Pork and Shrimp Vermicelli. Food was out swiftly. Shrimp was juicy and fresh. However, the meat lacked any char grill flavor -- both the pork and shrimp tasted more lightly boiled than BBQed. Overall, the dish tasted faintly salty and sweet but without complexity. Greens were shredded iceberg, some quick pickles, and a sprig of cilantro. If you love the bold, herbacious, funky flavors of Vietnamese cuisine, the food here may feel muted. However, for this stretch of the Peninsula, it's above average for nearby Vietnamese options.
Came to Lequy after being piqued by the shabu style cook method for pho. I happened to come for a late lunch on a weekday so there was no wait and service was expeditious like at any other pho place. When everything arrived at the table I could already smell the richness of the broth. I took a quick sip and was also pleased that it wasn't too salty! Because the meat was raw though, I did take time to toss in all the noodles and then scoop out some broth into that bowl to preserve its clarity and flavor - I recommend this strategy btw! Overall, I loved that I could cook it exactly to my liking. Moreover, the portion size was generous and the wagyu was so buttery and tender. I would absolutely look to come again when I'm in the area!

The food arrived piping hot, we couldn't eat much of it without burning our mouths. Staff was friendly, interior clean. The clay pot was pretty good with the rice having a nice crispy bottom. The shrimp was good too. The beef rolls was okay but loaded with a ton of cabbage inside which I took out. Portion of the bowl itself was on the smaller side. I never finish my food and I was able to so I know it was small lol. Anyways great solid spot for Vietnamese.
Interior was pretty nice. Service was friendly. Food was less than average for Bay Area. Only came here out of convenience. The meat for the Pho didn't look appetizing. The pork vermicelli was basic, but not amazing in taste or quality of meat.
bahn mi here was solid flavor, but lacking in amount of meat. pickled veggies in the bahn mi were excellent & it paired nicely with the sauce inside. pho was delicious but again, smaller portion than most bowls of pho in the area. shrimp spring rolls were excellent & paired nicely with the peanut dipping sauce. slightly pricer than other vietnamese restaurants in the bay area, but definitely quality flavors & free ingredients. great service, water refills occurred frequently, food came out fast, staff were very attentive & took orders quickly. lots of booth seating & even a small area directly outside for outdoor seating if desired. overall, excellent vietnamese place in palo algo area. ive been here a few times now & the food & portioning is always consistent.

The place was packed on Saturday lunch time. We ordered; Grilled pork sandwich -- it was good and exactly how it should taste. Shrimp and crab egg roll -- it is more Chinese style rather than the thinner Vietnamese style egg rolls. I can't taste it see any shrimp or crab. I actually taste potatoes in the egg rolls. That was a miss. Carmelized sea bass clay pot-- the fish was not Carmelized but has a tasty sauce for the fish. Wait staff was friendly and fast. But the place is not very clean. The server gave us a dish that was very oily on the bottom. The booth chair has oil in the back. The reason it has 3 stars instead of 2 is because I came here before for the Waygu pho and that was delicious. read more

I visited with this place with a friend on a Saturday around noon time. It wasn't too crowded at first, and we got seated right away. There were some reserved tables already. We ordered beef rib pho and beef combination. The rib was big. The meat is a bit more chewy than expected. The beef combination was good, but I would say other places have deeper broth. The portion was big. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. read more
Came here for a later Sunday lunch and was surprised it was still pretty busy. We got the wagyu pho and one of the clay pots. Plus a viet coffee. The pho was good, nice flavor and hit the spot on a cold day. Meat came on the side and they gave you plenty. Noodles were ok. Broth was good. But I'd definitely go with a clay pot next time! Found this place on Yelp after wanting to try new Vietnamese spots in the area! The service was pretty slow and both the pho and clay pot dish were disappointing. The pho was pretty average and the meat in the clay pot dish was super salty and flavorless. The eggrolls however were pretty good! Overall, not too sure I would come back here. read more

This modern but authentic Vietnamese restaurant is the perfect place to have a low key meal. Great ambiance, quick service, good variety of food that's decently priced. They give a sizable amount of quality meat in their dishes which can be hard to come by at other Vietnamese restaurants. The restaurant is located in a good area (next to Pet Food Express and Peet's Coffee) with many shops nearby and has ample parking. read more

The ambiance is great, the restaurant is clean, the service is awesome and the Wagyu beef pho is amazing! It's a little pricey, $25 for a bowl if I'm not mistaken, however, you ARE getting what you pay for! Which is quality! The Wagyu beef is such a level up from your general "rare beef pho" too which is what I always got in the past from other restaurants and was happy with. But I found this place on yelp and the previous reviews did not disappoint in recommending this meal! It looks like a lot of meat but it melts in your mouth so you're not doing an aggressive amount of chewing or anything. Also, the bowl is hot and keeps the soup warm which is a huge game changer! I've been here several times since I found the place a little over a year ago and have been meaning to leave a much deserved review, so here it is! Finally! This is one of those "treat yourself" kind of things or come when it's cold and rainy! I presume the rest of the menu is delicious as well but I keep going back for the Wagyu pho! Came in on a Saturday evening and there were lots of open tables- there was no wait and we were seated right away. I've tried many pho restaurants throughout South Bay and noticed there aren't as many around Los Altos/palo alto area (compared to San Jose) so I was excited to try a restaurant closer to home. We ordered the clay pot rice with pork and shrimp and the wagyu pho. Both were very delicious with generous amounts of meat. I got the Wagyu pho and the broth is flavorful and the meat is tender. The broth is extremely hot but that makes sense since you need to cook the raw meat in the broth. Overall, the items we got were at a very reasonable price for the amount of meat you get. (Compared to other pho places which are around $20 for a bowl). The staff also came by time to time to check up on us or fill up our water. Would definitely come back to try other things on the menu! read more

Arrived Sat 2pm afternoon after checking out the adorable dogs for adoption next door. Seated immediately-quiet, clean nice decor atmosphere. Ordered the wagu beef pho and shrimp roll appetizer. Broth is served boiling to dip cook the wagu individually to preference. Broth was savory not too salty or spicy. The wagu beef was delicious and buttery texture which mixed perfectly with the noodles, basil and bean sprouts. They were out of the clay pot and will try that next time. read more
We came here for dinner after a hike on a weekday night. The restaurant was decently crowded, but we were still easily able to get a table even though we were a group of 8. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and parking outside was easy. The restaurant had a good selection of noodles, claypot rice, rice plates, banh mi, and appetizers. I got the bo kho - there were few pieces of tender beef chunk and lots of noodles, but not much vegetables. The broth was decent but not super flavorful nor outstanding. Meanwhile, my friends got the wagyu pho which was kind of interesting since it's like a mini shabu shabu, and the signature claypots which had rice topped with different meat. The dishes were served in dolsots which is also interesting given this is a vietnamese restaurant. read more
I've been here three times so far - nothing like a bowl of pho on a cold dreary evening. First time I got the seafood pho which seemed a bit pricey but you do get really good value with the black cod, crab claw, one prawn and some calamari. Hubby got traditional beef pho which he enjoyed. Second time we got the same except I got the chicken pho no meat which is about 10 dollars less than the seafood one - really enjoyed that too Tried the veggie egg rolls on second visit - around 12 bucks for three kinda of meh no flavor rolls - definitely would not recommend this one. Service was pretty good first two visits - last one we had a different female server who seemed distracted by her phone by the registers? Nice comfy vibe here - clean and no loud music or distracting TV on. read more
