First time visiting this location and let me say it was alright. I ordered the beef rib pho and the meat had ZERO flavor plus it was super tough to eat!!!!! Not sure if they over cooked it but I did not like it at all!!!! Ordered the fried tofu with onion appetizer and it was amazing!!!! The service was great and the food came out really quick! My issue: Arrived at 230 and by 3pm the waitress came by with the bill because they were closing. I was fine with that, but what I was not ok with was the fact that she included a 18% (service charge) on the bill. Mind you, I was a party of 2 and it's common practice to include gratuity when it's a party of 6 or more!!!! I saw the bill after I paid and was like WTF!!! We arrived a little bit before 1 pm on a Saturday, and got lucky with parking. We were immediately sat at a table, and given menus and water. Inside was modern casual. We ordered chicken thigh pho, bun cha, hanoi special spring rolls. All were super delicious. My favorite was the bun cha. The flavor was super good. Service was great. Staff ended up switching our table from a table for 2 to a table for 4, since our plates were too big. Been to Pho Ha Noi handful of times. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the pho (not super flavorful broth), but I do like their other dishes. However the day that we went there for this dished the food seem to be a bit salty. One of the best bowls of comfort noodles I've had in the Bay Area. They simmer their beef bones for a full 24 hours which provides a rich and elegant depth to their pho broth while the large beef ribs are fall off the bone tender! Portion sizes generally seem to be quite generous with enough to share (as if I would share my food lol). I came here during lunch time which it was swarmed by (presumably) the Apple and other tech company employees on their lunch break. It is an operation and they're quick to rotate patrons in and out. I got the special combination pho and, as someone who's in NYC these days, it was comforting to enjoy this bowl. It's a carnivores' dream. I thought the flavors were all there and the meat was quality. I also got the nem nuong which was refreshing and great, but admittedly doesn't come close to what you can get at Brodard's in Orange County. My one gripe was that they automatically add a service charge to the bill. You can tell in the other reviews that it rubs people the wrong way. I rarely cross into Cupertino anymore, so it's nice to know that there's a decent pho spot around if you're in the area and have a craving for pho. read more
