    Beef Combo Pho

I stopped by during lunch on the weekend two weeks ago while was in the area for the long weekend. I remember was craving for soupy food (it was freezing in Norcal during the first two weeks of January 2026) and I was just wandering downtown Los Altos and not sure what to eat. I put my name down on the wait list they had inside. They were pretty busy with few people waiting. I was on a time crunch so I left. The next day I walked to downtown again after all my errands, and it was still early and checked Pho Cabin again and since it was pretty early, there was nobody so I was the first one. The inside is super cute, they really tried to make it like a cabin in the woods. The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from noodle soup to pan-fried noodle to rice plates. I was surprised it offers quite a selection. I went with Pho combo (everything meat) and was pretty satisfied. It was pretty decent pho for the area, not bad, I would definitely come again when craving for lean healthier option of asian noodle soup! Staff checked on me few times and were super nice!

Great food and service. Sat outside on a Wednesday and the weather was perfect. Food came out quick and was super fresh and authentic.

This place is not big inside but it feels like you're in a lodge. In addition, they have outdoor seating available. Regarding the food, I tried their brisket pho. The brisket is very soft and tender and the broth is light and good that I finished it all when I usually don't. The servers were nice and great that they have smiles on their faces when they're serving or approaching the other tables. Sadly, throughout my time there, they didn't check on my table if I need anything or how was everything. I even went up to pay for my bill as no one really checked on my table. Even then, the pho was good so will come back still.

Thank you to the friendly and attentive staff for so for a delicious lunch! Highly recommend the chicken flavor pho, INCREDIBLE! They have ample outdoor seating with heaters so my pup and I were comfy and enjoyed ourselves.

10/5/2024 The Pho Cabin 200 State St Los Altos, CA 94022 I went there for an early bowl of Pho on a Saturday evening and got seated immediately. It's a cozy street corner location with a clean table and chair setup. We have tried to dine here before but there was always a line to get in and at least a 15 minute wait time. The menu fits on one side of letter size paper and the beef selections featured only lean cuts. I ordered the Brisket Pho which was brought to me promptly. The beef was indeed lean and plentiful. The broth and noodles were good, nothing special. Service was great and I guess it's popular for the lean beef selections with the wait times due to the limited seating. I prefer fattier cuts so I'll repeat if Wifey insists. Free city lot parking is nearby and usually available.

Ordered everything pho and grilled pork vermicelli. They both are pretty good. Very generous with the meat portion. Service is fast, friendly and no frill. We sat outdoor since the weather was very pleasant. Overall, I will come back if I miss pho, which is going to happen soon as the weather gets colder

Nice cozy place for a cup of noodle... Food come out quick, loved the grill pork spring rolls, the phở i love tha fat brisket in it, soft and tender... soup is clear, staff is quick and friendly... not a lot of seating inside , but they have the patio outside , got umbrella to cover too... coffee was good, not to hard to find a parking here around lunch time...

I went to Pho Cabin the other day. They have vegetarian options as well as different meat dish options. The fried tofu dish I ordered was good and the tofu tasted fresh. Though, I felt the Sweet and Sour sauce accompanying the dish was a bit skimpy ! Other dishes ordered were a Beef Pho bowl and two vegetarian type noodle dishes. All were fresh and tasty from what I was told by my family. Unfortunately , service by our waitress was fair. Due to one of my family member's dietary concerns, she needs all her foods to be cooked or steamed. When she explained this and how she needed her meal prepared , the waitress seemed a bit taken aback. My family member explained the owner knows her and has done this before . The waitress seemed to then accept the request. What bothered me was how after the explanation was the curtness and feeling of exasperation the waitress exhibited because she had to write down a few more extra words on her order tag. Outside of this , service by the Owner and other staff was great. Ambiance is good. More of a simple restaurant or cafe type setting. You have an option of inside or outside. Cost is a bit on higher side but considering it's location this would be expected.

This was my go to take out spot during the pandemic! Chicken pho, Beef pho, and pork with rice are my typical orders. The staff is friendly and nice!

Came with my partner and we ordered the Large Beef pho and small Chicken pho along with a Vietnamese iced coffee and sat outside since the day was nice. Service was a bit slow, not sure if that is because we were outside or something that they need to figure out since it looks like they had 2 servers but they were both coming outside and serving different tables. Both the chicken and beef were pretty good, flavorful broths with good noodles and the veggies were fresh. The iced coffee however isn't what I'm used to where they bring a cup out with the sweetened condensed milk and the coffee still dripping. It looks like it was made in a big batch and poured into the glass and wasn't sweet enough. It was hard getting their attention just to order so I didn't bother trying to get them to fix it. Even getting the check was hard to flag them down. Both pho's we're good though so we'll definitely come back and try some of their other dishes.

The food was a bit on the pricy side but it was delicious. It's a small restaurant so come before the lunch/dinner crowd.

We got seated and ordered water/our food. Majority of us got pho but two got rice plates. The food was good and pho broth is a solid meal. In terms of service, our food was served about 15 minutes later. We were missing someone's order and tried to give the benefit of the doubt so we waited longer. We waited another 10 minutes but then nothing so we tried to get the attention of the servers. They were busy so we weren't able to flag them down until 5-10 minutes. We told them we were missing a bowl of pho and they made it within 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately by the time we flagged them down and got the food, most of the table was done eating. Overall, the food was good but service was a little slow.

Los Altos is a quiet, sleepy town, and it's not exactly the first place you'd expect to find a Vietnamese spot, but this place is a gem that I really hope the locals support so it can thrive. * The Service: The service was standout. There was one young man handling both the register and the tables; he was incredibly friendly and had a big smile for everyone. He even gave my son a free smoothie that had been from a misplaced order, which my son absolutely loved. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. * The Food: I always believe you measure a Vietnamese restaurant by its Pho. It's the staple that gives you a window into the rest of the menu. * The Broth: For me, the broth is everything. You could have Wagyu or Kobe beef, but if the broth is bad, the whole bowl falls apart. I'm happy to say the broth here was excellent--flavorful, clean, and tasted fresh. Most importantly for me: it was served piping hot. Anything less than hot can ruin the experience, but they nailed the temperature. * The Meat & Sides: As you can see from the photo, the meat quality is a step above what you usually get. It was tender, textured, and full of flavor. All the sides--the sprouts, basil, and lemon--were noticeably fresh. * Popcorn Chicken: My son ordered this, and to be honest, it was pretty "meh." It seemed like your standard processed frozen bag variety, though it was at least fried to order. * The Price: At $19 for a bowl of Pho, some might call it the "Los Altos tax." However, when you consider that most bowls everywhere else are in the $15+ range now and don't offer this level of beef quality or such a well-crafted broth, the premium feels justified. You're paying for better ingredients. * The Environment: It is a modern, clean, and quiet space. While I love the energy of a bustling Castro Street, sometimes it's nice to have a peaceful place to eat closer to home. Now that I've found this, I don't have to drive far when a Vietnamese food craving hits! * The Bottom Line: Based on how good the Pho was, I'll definitely be back to work my way through the Banh Mi and the rest of the menu. If you're in the area, give this place a chance--it's high-quality, convenient, and deserves to be a local favorite. * Quick update - I came back the next day for a Banh MI sandwich, and when it was rung up - $15! It was quite a surprise, because all over the menu the sandwiches were listed as $9.95. A bad experience, and no banh mi is worth that much! Docking a star.

Aside from the ordering counter, the entire store is stuffed with a variety of snacks, drinks, and toys. Some of the snacks are familiarly American, but many are Vietnamese snacks/drinks more uncommon here, including fermented meats, honey comb cake, and more. The menu on the wall has a lot of photos, but it also doesn't cover everything you can order here. According to their menu, they primarily serve bahn mis and other sandwiches, but you can order spring rolls. I love their spring rolls, and it's all I really order here. I wouldn't recommend eating in, as it is really cramped, but it's a great spot for quickly picking up some good food to take on the go.
