Ever since I suffered through two different bouts of food poisoning from The Boiling Crab, I've been really shy about trying cajun/creole seafood boils. I was craving it last night and decided to take a chance. I ordered 1/2 pound of shrimp with the heads on, 1/2 pound of clams, 2 nobs of sweet corn and 3 pieces of red potatoes. I specifically asked for just spicy and no butter (to see if they were paying attention). I got exactly what I asked for and delivery was quick. Luckily, I have plastic gloves at home because it looked wonderfully messy. The spice level was definitely on pointe; very Asian level spicy (which is what I prefer). The only problem I had was that the shrimp are not deveined and/or left in clean water in order to empty their digestive tract. Kind of a bit unappetizing; I can put up with some but there was just too much and the shrimp was kind of mushy. It's sad because shrimp is my favorite. I took a picture of what I'm talking about. The service and food at boil daddy is unbeatable! This is definitely one of the gems of Glendale. The restaurant serves as kitchen for a few restaurants, so they have different menus for you to choose from. This can be concerning but they, against the odds, do everything on their menu extremely well. Food: I got the fish and chips plate, which was so delicious. The fish is very good quality and the fries are lightly salted the plate comes with tartar sauce 5/5. My mom got the chicken Katsu bowl with no cabbage and her curry on the side. She thought it was delicious and gave her dish a 5/5. They have canned drinks be nothing caught my eye. Service: Most times I've been here the service has been exemplary. While it's a tad bit expensive, the Boil Daddy has saved me on multiple work potluck occasions, and has been a winner each time! I usually just order 2 qty of 1lbs peel shrimp with their original sauce and no spice (in case people cannot handle spice). There usually aren't any leftovers, so that's always a good sign! I get in the office in the morning, order either directly through their website, or through a delivery service, (I've done both ways and both worked fine!), and schedule delivery for the desired time. This works out really well since I don't have the flexibility to leave the office to pick it up. Came in around 9:15PM for a late dinner and was not disappointed at all. Charles was super helpful + attentive in helping us decide what we should order and gave great recommendations and service. We ordered the 1lb head on shrimp, fried oyster basket, and half & half combo (peeled shrimp and king crab) - all items we added the Daddy's Sauce with Medium spice. 8.5/10 - The fried oysters were really good and had a great breading to oyster ratio. We asked for the Daddy's Sauce on the side so we could control how much sauce we wanted - would definitely do that again. 10/10 - The head on shrimp was so good. It really took on the flavor of the Daddy sauce and would definitely order again. 9/10 - If you're not looking to get your hands dirty, ordering the peeled off shrimp would be the one for you. However, I do think that the head on shrimp gives you better flavor with the Daddy Sauce. As for the king crab, this was so good. The legs were super meaty and the shells were easy to break and rip apart. I would definitely come here again. The restaurant itself was hard to find but once we got there, the food itself was so worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only 2 tables but a lot more seating outside. It is pretty nice outside but be cautious of the weather. Me and my gf decided to eat inside and the cashier, Charles, made the whole process easy and took care of us completely. It seemed like he was single-handedly carrying the restaurant and Furthermore the food was AMAZINGG. I'm not the biggest seafood person but it was exquisite and amazing and I highly recommend it. We got the medium spice level which was perfection since it's not mild but has the perfect level of heat and flavor. Ordered the Half and Half (1lb) on uber eats and I got a free half and half, the total without the deal would have been $52 + tax. maybe a little bit less since uber eats likes to raise prices but $50 for those is a robbery. That is outrageous for the amount of shrimp and mussels that had absolutely no meat inside. The sauce was very flavorful but they are stingy with the shrimp for the price being overpriced I got the lunch special comes with 1/2 lb of shrimp potatoes, sausage & corn . My father in law got the Crispy Mahalo which I definitely want to come back for, it was soo good when I got a taste of it. The ambience is nice as well, it's small inside the restaurant, like two small tables and 4-5 chairs. We were a party of 5 so we just combined the tables and chairs. There's plenty of seating outside though and they have heaters for when it gets cold which is very nice of them to provide. THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING, basically the highlight of our experience there. Good food and good vibes. The cashier was on top of it when he wasn't taking orders. He was very attentive and accommodating with no hesitation. He truly wanted to make sure we had everything we needed and were satisfied with the food they provided. I honestly couldn't have asked for better. We had very good conversation with him. I honestly went because of the name, but the food and service were much better than so many seafood boil places I've been to. For one, the portion size was really great. Two, seasoning was on point. The sausage is beef if you don't eat pork which is nice, and otherwise they'll substitute it out for more corn or potatoes if you're not looking to eat meat. New spot that opened in the plaza in front of Glendale community college. I'm a big fan of seafood and I wanted to give this spot a a try. When I placed an order they told me about a buy one get one 50%off special on the fish n chips. I think it's a good idea to bring in customers since they just opened to bring in business. The Fish was good to me I liked the breading that was fried with it also I liked how it wasn't to oily. Also it was 2 big pieces of fish in each order which made the portions a good size and some for leftovers. The fries were decent and that's why I'm rating the spot 4 stars. I feel the fries should be cooked longer (well done) and I ordered the Cajun fries too and to be honest it wasn't a difference compared to the regular ones just some light seasoning over it. This is our 2nd time coming here and the seafood is always great! We come on a weekday so the restaurant is not too crowded nor too empty.
