    The Boil Daddy
    Eric D.

Two Flavors, One Feast: A Delicious Takeout Adventure Craving a taste of culinary chaos mixed with Tokyo tranquility? Buckle up for a virtual feast from The Boil Daddy, quickly rushed home after our order and packaged in eco-friendly boxes - no need for fancy tablecloths or plastic bibs (unless you really want to!). The Boil Daddy is Glendale's answer to a Cajun mosh pit, a neon-lit bacchanal where plastic bibs are your armor and crustacean carnage is the main event. The air in this immaculately intimate restaurant explodes with a heady perfume of garlic, cayenne, and that undeniable shellfish aroma - a symphony for the senses that begs to be devoured, not politely admired. We dove headfirst into a feast fit for Poseidon himself: lobster tails, king crab legs glistening like jeweled batons, and juicy shrimp, all tangled in a glorious mess of corn and potatoes - no plump sausages needed in this take out (maybe next time). But the star of the show? The Daddy Sauce, a fiery concoction equal parts liquid courage and Cajun alchemy, guaranteed to have you sweating like a sinner in church, but every searing drop is a hallelujah chorus on your tongue. The seafood? Cooked to juicy perfection, shells slick with that glorious sauce, begging to be pried open and devoured like barbarians at a Roman feast. And just when you think you've reached peak culinary chaos, enter Muzen, a menu tucked away in The Boil Daddy's back pocket. This Tokyo oasis whispers flavors that'll leave you humming "Tokyo Nights" under your breath. Here, the menu reads like a haiku, short and sweet, but the flavors pack a wallop. I dove into the Beef Belly Curry, a slow-braised ballad of melt-in-your-mouth beef waltzing in a rich, dark broth that whispers secrets of light chili heat and ginger. It's the kind of dish that makes you lick the biodegradable packaging (shame be damned!), singing along to the silent karaoke of your taste buds. So there you have it. Two faces of the same coin in one location, united by a deep respect for good, honest food and the people who create it. The Boil Daddy, a raucous Cajun mosh pit where you shed your inhibitions and dive headfirst into a primal feast. And Muzen, a Tokyo haiku whispered in the back alley, a quiet pocket of comfort food that punches you in the gut with umami. Both menus, as different as a Zydeco breakdown from a Zen koan, but both leaving you with the same feeling: satisfied, slightly sweaty, and ready to do it all over again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a pile of napkins and a bottle of Riesling. But trust me, this culinary double date, is worth every messy, glorious bite. P.S. While Bobby, the culinary evangelist who orchestrated our first time experience at the Boil Daddy's location in Glendale, exceeded the combined services of a cook, waiter, and sauce sommelier. Here's what stood out to us about Bobby's service: Generosity with premium seafood: Going the extra mile to provide the best pieces of lobster and king crab demonstrates genuine care and attention to detail. Speed and efficiency: Having everything ready just over 16 minutes is impressive, especially being a one man brigade. Proactive sauce tasting: Letting you sample the sauces before making a decision shows great customer service and ensures you get a dish you'll truly enjoy. Engaging personality: A great personality makes the dining experience even more enjoyable and memorable. We're definitely returning to this mosh pit - bon appétit!

1 lb. Shrimp Head-On Fried Oyster Basket Half 1/2 and 1/2 Seafood (Peeled Off Shrimp + King Crab)
    Kaitlyn C.

Came in around 9:15PM for a late dinner and was not disappointed at all. Charles was super helpful + attentive in helping us decide what we should order and gave great recommendations and service. We ordered the 1lb head on shrimp, fried oyster basket, and half & half combo (peeled shrimp and king crab) - all items we added the Daddy's Sauce with Medium spice. 8.5/10 - The fried oysters were really good and had a great breading to oyster ratio. We asked for the Daddy's Sauce on the side so we could control how much sauce we wanted - would definitely do that again. 10/10 - The head on shrimp was so good. It really took on the flavor of the Daddy sauce and would definitely order again. 9/10 - If you're not looking to get your hands dirty, ordering the peeled off shrimp would be the one for you. However, I do think that the head on shrimp gives you better flavor with the Daddy Sauce. As for the king crab, this was so good. The legs were super meaty and the shells were easy to break and rip apart. I would definitely come here again. FYI if you want to dine in, this place is super small so if you have a party larger than 2 people, you'll probably have to sit outside.

The restaurant itself was hard to find but once we got there, the food itself was so worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only 2 tables but a lot more seating outside. It is pretty nice outside but be cautious of the weather. Me and my gf decided to eat inside and the cashier, Charles, made the whole process easy and took care of us completely. It seemed like he was single-handedly carrying the restaurant and Furthermore the food was AMAZINGG. I'm not the biggest seafood person but it was exquisite and amazing and I highly recommend it. We got the medium spice level which was perfection since it's not mild but has the perfect level of heat and flavor. Similarly for the wings, he recommended the mixed sauce which went with the wings perfectly. Overall, one of the best places we have went to and may be our new regular spot!

Boatswain's Catch Combo $72 Good for 1-2 people. So delighted at the flavors and the portions. Literally way better flavors than all of the other boils out there. We had mild sauce with the butter mix. We added 1/2 lb of mussels and a side order of rice. Their ice made the coke even more fire than usual! It was very intimate and had great music in the background. Great service from a one man show! It felt like we had our own private restaurant. You have just gotten yourselves some new customers. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend & I order boil daddy pretty often, so I'm glad they're local to us! I looove the seasoning blend they use. So delicious and the spice is always perfect. My favorite for a quick bite is their shrimp bowl - it comes w shrimp, sausage and potatoes + jasmine rice. I like to add corn to mine. Sooo filling. If you're in the area & looking for yummy seafood boil style seafood, please stop by! The staff is also VERY friendly and welcoming!!

I order the Daddy Noodz (pictured here), and my girlfriend got the fish and chips. Overall pretty decent spot.

After a long night, my girlfriend and I decided to hit up this seafood joint. I ordered the Daddy Noodz and my girlfriend ordered the fish and chips. The guy was pretty busy with orders on a Thursday night, but was able to manage to get our orders in at a good timing. I liked the Daddy sauce (garlic + Cajun), while my girlfriend wasn't a fan. For the fish and chips order, the fries were beefy, but needed some flavor, maybe adding five spice or the garlic sauce they have, the fries can also needed to be a bit more crispy. The fish was tender and juicy, ohh and the batter was crispy A++++! Again the fish and chips needs like a sauce with it, but overall our meals were good.

I couldn't decide on one flavor so she was kind enough to put the sauce on the side for me which was great (thank you!). I love that they gave a combination of white and dark meat, I was worried it would all be wings and it was well portioned. I enjoyed having a little salad with the fried chicken pieces and rice. The sauce was light and gently sweet, a very complimentary dip to the light crispy crunch of the breaded wings. Service was very welcoming and friendly with a very clean interior and the smell of freshly cooked food. I really enjoyed the food here and I'm definitely coming back for dinner with the family.

Korean fried chicken cravings definitely happen and its good to have one in the foothills. We just happened to be in the same plaza shopping at the market nearby when we first noticed it. We've gotten the original fried chicken wings, original fried chicken drumsticks, sweet and spicy wings and the spicy garlic wings. I've found that the original and sweet & spicy are the 2 flavors I like best for wings. The drumsticks are a little too filling and I'm really in it for the wings. The flavor of the original fried is good and the crunch is even better. 10 pieces of these wings is $15.49 while 10 pieces of the sweet & spicy wings or the spicy garlic is $15.99. The spicy garlic was a little too strong for me. I needed to eat that with a good amount of rice. The sweet & spicy is good on its own. The flavor was not too overpowering. The double fried nature of these wings make for an extra crunch which we all look for... That's always good. We also typically get the pickled radish as a side but at times that is even too strong. Located on Foothill Blvd in the same plaza as Seoul Market and directly next to Sakana Sushi. Parking is in the shared lot or along Foothill. Service the times we ordered in-person was friendly. It seemed like a family run business. Signage out front doesnt really let you know that it's a Korean fried chicken spot. When we first parked in front of Chicken Day while headed to Seoul Market, I did a double take in wondering what type of chicken shop it was.

I ended up getting food poisoning for a day and a half after eating the food from here, which I am not sure if it's due to the sanitation reasons or if they cooked the wings in old, poor-quality, oil. 1. Golden Original Chicken Wings (3.5/5) Of all the wings we got, this was by far the best of the lot. Due to the lack of wet dressing, at least the outside of the wings maintained a bit of the crisp. It lacked savoriness though. 2. Galbi Chicken Wings (2/5) A Korean flavor that's supposed to be sweet, savory, and smoky with green onions and sesame seed garnish. It's more sweet than savory and it did not have the smoky flavor to it at all. The green onion and sesame seeds were just for garnishing and looks as they did not add any flavor 3. Gangnam Style Wings (4/5) Another Korean-inspired flavor that's supposed to be a mixture of black pepper sauce with garlic and onions. The sauce combination was actually quite tasty. I liked the slight kick from the black pepper. It is definitely not spicy. Wings though were soggy in texture 4. Gang-Jeong Wings (2/5) Supposed to be a soy sauce-based sauce with cinnamon and chili garnish. This sauce was overwhelmingly thick and rich, but without a defined flavor. Definitely no cinnamon flavor at all. Coated on top of the wings = soggy wings yet again 5. Rose Ddeok-Bokki (2/5) This is typically a creamy version of the traditional Ddeok-Bokki. Usually coconut is used to make it more creamy and give it a unique taste. Here, it was just some pink sauce without flavor. Poorly seasoned. The rice cakes were between chewy and hard :/ 6. Kimchi Fried Rice with Added Cheese (1/5) Probably the worst kimchi fried rice we've ever had. The cheese we added for $2 more (totally not worth it) made the top of the rice dry and hard. The rice like everything else lacked salt and savoriness. The kimchi base sauce lacked the kimchi spicy fermentation flavor. It was super bland. Honestly, for the price, this was a huge disappointment. I will not be back and cannot recommend this place. You're better off making wings yourself at home with an air fryer.

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I wasn't really a fan of their pizza dough, which to me, has a consistency of thin, dried, stale bread - that's just my personal opinion though. It didn't seem to bother anyone else in my party. I guess could round up to 4.5 stars 1. Bulgogi Gold Pizza (4.5/5) The bulgogi was marinated well and were evenly spread throughout each pizza slice. The base of this pizza is tomato sauce and it is topped off with onion, bell pepper and cheddar cheese. The gold crust of course if a layer of crispy melted cheese. The inside of the crust contains sweet potato mousse, which adds a slight sweetness to the palate. The combination works well. 2. Buldak Pizza (2/5) This is the newest item on their menu, so we had to try it. Love the concept of the flavor, but it just wasn't our favorite because it was too sweet. The bulk sauce is a Korean sweet and spicy sauce that kind of resembles BBQ sauce. We felt that the sweetness of the sauce overpowered everything, including the spicy part. The chicken was also too dry. I did like the stuffed cheese crust though as it had a decently cheesiness to it. It was good to try, but we will skip it next time. 3. Bulgogi Taco Pizza (5/5) What is there not to like about bulgogi and taco, let alone, in pizza form? The toppings are Korean marinated BBQ beef, chopped red onions, cilantro, and hot taco sauce. It was pleasantly savory and packed with flavor that's truly reminiscent of street tacos. 4. Potato Gold Pizza (5/5) If you are hungry and looking for a carb-heavy, yet satisfying bite, this is the pizza to get. It has tomato sauce base, topped with cheddar cheese, ground beef, strips of bacon, corn, onion, mushroom, sour cream and a slice of potato wedge on each slice of pizza. Of course, the crust contains the sweet potato mousse. The bacon and seasoned potato wedges really adds savoriness to this pizza. The corn and sweet potato mousse crust adds a tinge of sweetness. The combination of all the ingredients made our taste buds dance with happiness. Overall, I recommend Hello pizza to anyone who is wanting to venture to try new pizza flavors. It's a palate experience to remember!!!
