    The Boil Daddy
    Eric D.

Two Flavors, One Feast: A Delicious Takeout Adventure Craving a taste of culinary chaos mixed with Tokyo tranquility? Buckle up for a virtual feast from The Boil Daddy, quickly rushed home after our order and packaged in eco-friendly boxes - no need for fancy tablecloths or plastic bibs (unless you really want to!). The Boil Daddy is Glendale's answer to a Cajun mosh pit, a neon-lit bacchanal where plastic bibs are your armor and crustacean carnage is the main event. The air in this immaculately intimate restaurant explodes with a heady perfume of garlic, cayenne, and that undeniable shellfish aroma - a symphony for the senses that begs to be devoured, not politely admired. We dove headfirst into a feast fit for Poseidon himself: lobster tails, king crab legs glistening like jeweled batons, and juicy shrimp, all tangled in a glorious mess of corn and potatoes - no plump sausages needed in this take out (maybe next time). But the star of the show? The Daddy Sauce, a fiery concoction equal parts liquid courage and Cajun alchemy, guaranteed to have you sweating like a sinner in church, but every searing drop is a hallelujah chorus on your tongue. The seafood? Cooked to juicy perfection, shells slick with that glorious sauce, begging to be pried open and devoured like barbarians at a Roman feast. And just when you think you've reached peak culinary chaos, enter Muzen, a menu tucked away in The Boil Daddy's back pocket. This Tokyo oasis whispers flavors that'll leave you humming "Tokyo Nights" under your breath. Here, the menu reads like a haiku, short and sweet, but the flavors pack a wallop. I dove into the Beef Belly Curry, a slow-braised ballad of melt-in-your-mouth beef waltzing in a rich, dark broth that whispers secrets of light chili heat and ginger. It's the kind of dish that makes you lick the biodegradable packaging (shame be damned!), singing along to the silent karaoke of your taste buds. So there you have it. Two faces of the same coin in one location, united by a deep respect for good, honest food and the people who create it. The Boil Daddy, a raucous Cajun mosh pit where you shed your inhibitions and dive headfirst into a primal feast. And Muzen, a Tokyo haiku whispered in the back alley, a quiet pocket of comfort food that punches you in the gut with umami. Both menus, as different as a Zydeco breakdown from a Zen koan, but both leaving you with the same feeling: satisfied, slightly sweaty, and ready to do it all over again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a date with a pile of napkins and a bottle of Riesling. But trust me, this culinary double date, is worth every messy, glorious bite. P.S. While Bobby, the culinary evangelist who orchestrated our first time experience at the Boil Daddy's location in Glendale, exceeded the combined services of a cook, waiter, and sauce sommelier. Here's what stood out to us about Bobby's service: Generosity with premium seafood: Going the extra mile to provide the best pieces of lobster and king crab demonstrates genuine care and attention to detail. Speed and efficiency: Having everything ready just over 16 minutes is impressive, especially being a one man brigade. Proactive sauce tasting: Letting you sample the sauces before making a decision shows great customer service and ensures you get a dish you'll truly enjoy. Engaging personality: A great personality makes the dining experience even more enjoyable and memorable. We're definitely returning to this mosh pit - bon appétit!

1 lb. Shrimp Head-On Fried Oyster Basket Half 1/2 and 1/2 Seafood (Peeled Off Shrimp + King Crab)
    Kaitlyn C.

Came in around 9:15PM for a late dinner and was not disappointed at all. Charles was super helpful + attentive in helping us decide what we should order and gave great recommendations and service. We ordered the 1lb head on shrimp, fried oyster basket, and half & half combo (peeled shrimp and king crab) - all items we added the Daddy's Sauce with Medium spice. 8.5/10 - The fried oysters were really good and had a great breading to oyster ratio. We asked for the Daddy's Sauce on the side so we could control how much sauce we wanted - would definitely do that again. 10/10 - The head on shrimp was so good. It really took on the flavor of the Daddy sauce and would definitely order again. 9/10 - If you're not looking to get your hands dirty, ordering the peeled off shrimp would be the one for you. However, I do think that the head on shrimp gives you better flavor with the Daddy Sauce. As for the king crab, this was so good. The legs were super meaty and the shells were easy to break and rip apart. I would definitely come here again. FYI if you want to dine in, this place is super small so if you have a party larger than 2 people, you'll probably have to sit outside.

The restaurant itself was hard to find but once we got there, the food itself was so worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only 2 tables but a lot more seating outside. It is pretty nice outside but be cautious of the weather. Me and my gf decided to eat inside and the cashier, Charles, made the whole process easy and took care of us completely. It seemed like he was single-handedly carrying the restaurant and Furthermore the food was AMAZINGG. I'm not the biggest seafood person but it was exquisite and amazing and I highly recommend it. We got the medium spice level which was perfection since it's not mild but has the perfect level of heat and flavor. Similarly for the wings, he recommended the mixed sauce which went with the wings perfectly. Overall, one of the best places we have went to and may be our new regular spot!

Boatswain's Catch Combo $72 Good for 1-2 people. So delighted at the flavors and the portions. Literally way better flavors than all of the other boils out there. We had mild sauce with the butter mix. We added 1/2 lb of mussels and a side order of rice. Their ice made the coke even more fire than usual! It was very intimate and had great music in the background. Great service from a one man show! It felt like we had our own private restaurant. You have just gotten yourselves some new customers. We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend & I order boil daddy pretty often, so I'm glad they're local to us! I looove the seasoning blend they use. So delicious and the spice is always perfect. My favorite for a quick bite is their shrimp bowl - it comes w shrimp, sausage and potatoes + jasmine rice. I like to add corn to mine. Sooo filling. If you're in the area & looking for yummy seafood boil style seafood, please stop by! The staff is also VERY friendly and welcoming!!

I order the Daddy Noodz (pictured here), and my girlfriend got the fish and chips. Overall pretty decent spot.

After a long night, my girlfriend and I decided to hit up this seafood joint. I ordered the Daddy Noodz and my girlfriend ordered the fish and chips. The guy was pretty busy with orders on a Thursday night, but was able to manage to get our orders in at a good timing. I liked the Daddy sauce (garlic + Cajun), while my girlfriend wasn't a fan. For the fish and chips order, the fries were beefy, but needed some flavor, maybe adding five spice or the garlic sauce they have, the fries can also needed to be a bit more crispy. The fish was tender and juicy, ohh and the batter was crispy A++++! Again the fish and chips needs like a sauce with it, but overall our meals were good.

Let's start with the Cajun shrimp: perfectly cooked, tender, and absolutely drenched in a sauce so flavorful it should come with a warning label. Not salty, not greasy -- just balanced, bold, and outrageously addictive. You taste it once and immediately know someone in that kitchen actually gives a damn. And the crab legs... my god. HUGE, sweet, and steamed to perfection. You crack into them and it's like opening a treasure chest -- except instead of gold, it's pure, buttery, Cajun-kissed heaven. Now the sausage -- whoever seasons that deserves a raise. It doesn't just sit in the bag like an afterthought. It has its own flavor, completely over the top in the best possible way. Smoky, spicy, rich... it punches through the boil like it's auditioning for its own dish. But the real sleeper hit? THE GREEN SAUCE. Off. The. Chain. A straight-up flavor knockout -- bright, herby, tangy, and absolutely lethal in the way good sauces should be. It elevates everything you dip it in. I could drink it. I won't -- but I could. The whole experience? Different -- but in that rare, memorable, "I need to come back tomorrow" kind of way. Cajun Craving is easily one of the best seafood boils in LA. No nonsense, no shortcuts, just pure, serious, crafted flavor. Five stars. Easy. Gordon Ramsay approved.
