I've been meaning to try this spot ever since they opened up. I'm frustrated that I didn't sooner because Super Cajun was incredibly tasty! My family and I were on our way home from a long day of errands so we decided to order online for pickup on the way home since we live fairly close to it. It did not disappoint! Since it was our first time trying it, we only ordered a 1 pound of shrimp, 1 pound of mussels, with some corn and potatoes mixed in with the Super Cajun Signature Seasoning. We wished we ordered more! It was just as good as The Boiling Crab if not better, especially since you don't have the long wait. Just keep in mind that it is a small casual spot and not a big restaurant. Even though we ordered for pickup, it did look like a nice little setup. Super Cajun in Los Angeles is an excellent restaurant. Pick your protein, pick your seasoning, add your sides and they boil everything together for you. I had the shrimp and crab as my protein, Cajun butter sauce, spicy, and added potatoes and corn. Servings are large, especially with the added sides, but the seasonings were delicious, seafood was very fresh shrimp with sweet crab was delicious. Counter help were very helpful and friendly. I'm a huge fan of Boiling Crab but live very close to this spot, so my friend and I decided to try it out! Super delicious and tasty. I think I'll be going here from now on as it supports small business, no waiting in long lines, and the food is just as good! I came here to grab dinner and was pleasantly surprised. I got combo 2 which includes 1/2 lb snow crab and 1/2 lb shrimp with some sides. It was very tasty albeit the portion was a bit small but reasonably priced. I also got the fried basket with catfish and soft shell crab. The fish was good but the crab was so salty. I took a chance on this place because I'm new to the area and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious and the service was beyond good not to mention it's priced very fairly. The hostess was super friendly and patient. Space is limited but they do "to go" orders, which they do very well, ours came with forks, spoons, lemons, seasonings, napkins & gloves. First time checking this place out and we went with Combo #1 (1 lb shrimp + 1/2 lb sausage) and Combo #3 (1 lb shrimp + 1 lb green mussels). Each combo came with a corn, potato, rice, and broccoli. We chose the Cajun garlic butter flavor and honestly, the seasoning was spot on. It was garlicky, buttery, and packed with flavor. Definitely the highlight of the meal. That said, one thing that was a bit of a dealbreaker for me was there's no restroom or at least even a sink available to wash your hands. With a seafood boil, you're guaranteed to get messy while peeling shrimp and while they do provide gloves, they rip really easily. I had to keep switching gloves which kind of took away from the experience. Customer service was just okay, nothing bad but nothing super memorable either. Parking is also limited since it's a small strip mall so just something to keep in mind if you're coming during busy hours. The customer service is always great. If you are dining in order and pay at the front and have a seat. The staff will set up your table and give you gloves and bibs. The food is always piping hot and cooked to order. If you have an allergy to shrimp just let them know and they will cook your food in a separate pot. The value of food for the price you're paying is great. This place does get a bit busy in the evening as they also prepare a lot of orders for delivery. There aren't that many reviews so far but they seemed promising! The inside of the store was kind of plain, not overly decorated like other seafood boil places. Don't be fooled because their food was really good!! Some reviews said the spice level was pretty accurate. My bf thinks the medium could have been more spicy, but overall mild was perfect for me! Crusin' down the street in my four door, the sign for Super Cajun caught my attention so I pulled over to check it out. I remember this spot being the former location of China In The Box. As I approached the entrance a delicious aroma greeted me. Inside there were two girls sitting at a booth with bibs on and a guy seated at a table waiting for his food. I walked up to place my order. The man behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I'm guessing he was the owner. Super Cajun specializes in Seafood Boil but I wanted to give the fried options a try, so I ordered the 6-piece fried shrimp basket. It came with coleslaw, garlic bread, and choice of regular or Cajun fries. Of course, I chose the Cajun fries. While waiting for my food the girls had finished their Combo Boil. I asked how it was. They said it was their first time here and it was amazing! They recommended it with the Cajun Butter and said they were already looking forward to coming back. I asked the man if he had been here before and he said, "Many times." He told me was hooked after his first visit because the flavor of the food is so good it keeps you coming back for more. After hearing these testimonials, I was very excited for my meal! I brought my box of yummy fried goodness home to share with PIC. We took our first bite of the shrimp and simultaneously declared, "Wow! This is really good." PIC continued to eat and said, "You know it's good if I'm eating it because I'm picky." LOL! True Dat. The shrimp were large and fried perfectly. They were moist & juicy and not greasy. I loved the seasoned coating. The Cajun fries were also exceptionally good. Crispy outside, soft inside, and flavorful with the right amount of spice. The garlic bread was thick and soft and the garlic wasn't overpowering. The coleslaw was a nice palate cleanser. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and the portion size was good for the price. ($9.99) We both agreed that we would order from here again. I'm rounding this up to 5 stars based on the raving endorsements from the other patrons that were there when I ordered. Nice by-the-pound seafood place with reasonable price and amazing sauce. They do mean it when they said 'hot'. If you love spicy but still want to enjoy the food, then go with medium. If you can't do spicy, then make sure you choose the least spicy option. The super cajun and the garlic butter sauces are great. Fried catfish is amazing. Will definitely try other fried food next time. French fries are on the skinny side which makes them very salty. If they change the cut to wedges, then this amount of saltiness is perfect. Im a huge fan of this place. It's the classic Cajun crab boil concept without the lines, cost and pretentiousness of a Boiling Crab. The food is great and price point can't be beat.
