    Weekend getaway!!

Weekend getaway!! Jennifer recommended this drink and it was the best! Definitely made my night! It might have been a Wednesday night but it felt like a weekend!

Had see this restaurant somewhere, so added it to my just off places to try. The stars aligned, grabbed a reservation and we headed down for brunch. Walking in, you enter and go down a staircase. There want anyone at the check in area, and no one in the restaurant, so I wasn't sure if it was really opened. Hit a call button and a lady came to seat us. Ambiance looks fun, like it might pop off in the evenings, efficient a party type vibe to the ambiance. Water was brought right away and out drink order was taken. The Aperol Peach Spritz was tasty, decent peach flavor can't through. The Emerald is a combination of Making, Midori and pineapple juice. A very light cocktail. The Weekend Getaway really tasted very watermelon pucker forward, taking away from the other flavors in the drink, unfortunately. For food, we tried multiple items to get a good idea how brunch is. The bone marrow came out first, and there was a decent amount of marrow present, which was nice. They also give you a side of greens to help cut the richness of the marrow. Good dish. We got French toast to share amongst everyone at the table. This dish was very sad in appearance. Just looked like three slices of unwanted bread on a plate with a lot of strawberries around it. Very underwhelming. The omelette with grilled avocado was what very disappointing. It is supposed to come with cherry tomatoes and house made stone fire bread, which were not there. The omelette, itself, was also overcooked, and under seasoned. Just tasted like an overcooked scrambled egg with avocado on top. Two other entrees we tried were the hot chicken sandwich and the Philly cheese steak. The hot chicken sandwich that wasn't spicy. We kept hoping it would come through with each bite but never did. It what needed a little more cheese than was present. The cheese steak, on the other hand, was decent with the caramelized onions and a decent amount of steak. However, the melted provolone really didn't come through. Overall, food was just not it for brunch. Some poor execution on some items, some items missing elements to the dish, others just not standing out or being memorable. Bone Marie was good though. But, for the price, overall, definitely not worth it. Maybe night time is better but, for brunch, I would go elsewhere for the money.

Miqayel was the best server. The ambiance is beautiful. It is downstairs in Glendale. A true HIDDEN GEM! Perfect place to have a date, or come with friends!

The menu was beautifully balanced, offering something for everyone. I ordered the sea bass, and it was truly superb, one of the best-prepared dishes I've ever had. Perfectly cooked, it arrived resting in a bath of Thai basil curry au jus, paired with a side of basmati rice that was light, fluffy, and flawless. Every bite was rich, fragrant, and absolutely unforgettable. We also shared the lobster pasta. The sauce leaned toward a tomato paste profile, but the pasta was al dente and the lobster cooked with precision--every forkful was satisfying and flavorful. The experience started simply yet thoughtfully with almonds and olives, a small touch that felt both refined and personal (and happens to be one of my favorite snacks). Overall, I loved the way this restaurant married simplicity with richness, delivering complexity of flavor without ever overcomplicating. From start to finish, it was an experience to savor. A true Paris treasure.

honestly, the only redeeming thing about this place was the service of the young man outside and the woman bartender inside! everything else was... subpar at best. Think extremely loud music so bad you can't hear yourself think. Food $25+ a plate, but takes 3+ minutes to get to you, and is mostly bland. Think cocktails that are very very veryyyy pretty but taste like well liquor and syrup. I sat outside alone due to inside being awful and a plethora of 16 year olds running around barefoot, then a group of older men sat firstly next to me (many other tables available) chain smoking cigarettes and then turned my heater off lol. Watched me shiver and just smirked at me weird. Just overall not good experience.

We had reservations for a Friday night, but the experience started off poorly. They seated us in an almost private area that was set aside for a birthday, and our table had no view of the stage. We asked our server if we could move, but she wasn't interested in helping. When I asked for a manager, he didn't speak to us directly--instead, he began talking to the server with strong hand gestures, which made us feel uncomfortable. Another server eventually moved us to a table with a slightly better view, but the whole interaction left us stunned. I ordered two drinks, and both were terrible. I even asked for the second one to be taken back since it wasn't what I ordered, but the waiter refused and still charged me. The food was also not edible. The only saving grace was the show--it was incredible, with great energy and a fun performance. Besides that, the service and the quality of the food and drinks were disappointing. Adjust your expectations if you decide to visit, or honestly, save your money.

I am not sure if this is a legit restaurant or more of a banquet hall. Make your way downstairs and there's a stage and tables for what seems to be parties. The place is clean and bar is fully stocked. Didn't like eating somewhere with no windows, but othewise the food was delicious. Great appetizers and the server was also very nice. My three recommendations: Burrata salad, beef carpacio, melonn prosciutto. All hits the spot on a hot day in Southern California!

If you value your money and have any type of good standard, do not eat here. 1) The eggs Benedict were $20 and said it came on a bagel. It came on an English muffin and the bacon we paid $4 extra to get, were two of the tiniest pieces of shitty bacon I've ever seen. The "house made" hollandaise sauce was missing in action and the poached eggs were clearly done by the new guy. 2) the "focaccia" was $18 and was basically a frozen flatbread with seasoning and plain olive oil. 3) the waitress was not attentive and brought us salt and pepper literally almost after we ate. WILD. Do not go here for a meal. Looked like a fun party at night though.

I've been following their Ig page for a while, and yesterday was finally the perfect occasion to stop by. We made a reservation through OpenTable, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted. The host asked if we're celebrating anything special, and we mentioned that all four of us had back-to-back birthdays. Now here's the amazing part: without us even requesting it, the staff brought out two slices of cake with candles and mentioned our names. Such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. Food: Everything we ordered was delicious; the house salad, prime rib, house bread, Brussels sprouts, and the pizza all hit the spot. Drinks: I couldn't get enough of the Pom Paloma, ordered it 3 times, which says it all. We also tried the Fiery Strawberry and the Hugo Rose. Entertainment: The DJ kept the energy high all night with an incredible mix of Armenian, Arabic, English, Spanish, and Russian tracks. Show: The dancers were full of energy, mingled with the crowd, and even brought people onto the dance floor, it made the night that much more fun. Parking: on Brand street 2 hour metered parking or the parking structure off of Harvard St & Artsakh street. Overall, an unforgettable night. Highly recommend!

Place looks kind of new, friendly staff, food was good could use a bit more flavor but it's good. Drinks were fantastic, nice cocktail list. Decor was amazing, very 80s Miami lounge vibes which I loved. Only thing I didn't like was the volume of the music, good for dancing but not for dinner, we barely heard each other on the table, but thats just my complaint, maybe other tables liked it. Live show from 2 dancers they did a good job. Overall i liked the place and will definitely be back but maybe on a regular day not when theres live entertainment. Overall I recommend this place.

Our two servers were fantastic! It was fun talking custom cocktails with one, and food with the other. Both servers, as well as food runners, were ON IT! Very friendly, attentive to each table, and efficient. Our drinks were delicious! The spirits on their shelves are high quality, so drinks were top notch. The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. Everything was taste-bud pleasing in a unique and unexpected ways. Plenary of fans here for the game! Happy Hour after workers, families - everyone welcome. Room at the bar, tables for 2, 4, or 6 - lucky us again - to sit along the large open wall-window that let in the evening breeze. If you want a tiki style cozier vibe, head upstairs to the lift area. Parking is a commodity, and there's no lot here. Street parking in front or on residential side streets. All around great experience! If I were a local, this would definitely be on high rotation!

Honestly I expected something similar to a White Claw or other canned hard seltzer, but this was completely different. The menu stated it had notes of mango, prickly pear, and key lime and I was able to taste all of those flavors. One of the best brews I've had in a while! Their food menu is also awesome. They have a variety of vegan, veg, and non-veg dishes, and everything is soooo reasonably priced. Their vegan lumpia is great, vegan chicken sandwich is great, and this last time I had their wonton chicken salad which was super flavorful and rich. We also got the fried pickles this time which were not my favorite but not necessarily bad either. Highly recommend stopping by here for a casual drink or lunch, you wont regret it!

First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. But everything I've had has been outstanding, even their mocktails. I really liked one of the new ones I had recently, which was called something like Grandma's House? I can't remember, but it was spiced and had a star anise as garnish. A bit on the pricier side, but probably because they use premium ingredients and such unique flavors combos. Love the neighborhood bar vibe. It's a welcoming little oasis in the urban jungle of Highland Park.

Really disappointed to hear rocknites are no more. :(…read more That said, this place stands out even among Highland Park's many great spots. I haven't tried the food (though it is tempting), but the Asian-inspired cocktails are delicious. The vibe is awesome as well -- great seating, pool tables, and an arcade in the back. Definitely worth a visit!

We were in Highland Park on a Sunday morning trying to hit that viral Korean breakfast burrito…read morespot, but the line was crazy. Decided to just walk down York and find something else. Ended up at The Goldfish and walked into a spot that instantly felt like we weren't in LA anymore. Place really leans into that Thailand vibe. Nick was behind the bar and was super cool. Walked us through the menu, gave a few drink recs, and just made it easy. While waiting, we took a lap around the place and checked everything out. Tons of little details everywhere. You can tell someone really put thought into it. Nick mentioned the owner actually goes to Thailand often and brings stuff back for the restaurant, which makes sense once you see the space. There was one cook in the back handling everything and bringing plates out fresh. Food came out hot and honestly hit. We ordered the steak pad see ew, chicken fried rice, fried shrimp rolls, and drinks. No complaints. Glad the burrito line was long or we probably wouldn't have found this spot. Definitely coming back, feels like a good date night place.

We had two separate servers because one went home during the middle of our dinner and both were equally horrible. Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
