I kept getting pop-up ads for this place and thought it was time to go check it out. I had no idea what to expect being that. It's on the bottom floor of an apartment building. What a surprise when I walked through the door and saw such a beautiful space. When I checked online, there were plenty of reservations available so we decided to just show up. Much to my surprise, without a reservation you can only be seated in a certain part of the restaurant. Reserve seats are for another area where there is a live music. But that was fine because we could still hear the music during our meal. Our server was quite good though it seemed as if he was also a maître D as he was running all over the restaurant. He made some great recommendations so we ordered quite a few dishes. First up was their Beetroot Carpaccio and Tuna Tartare. The beet dish was quite unique and very colorful! Overall, I really enjoyed it, but I think they overdid it with the truffle oil. The tuna tartare was not what I was expecting. While flavorful, it was more of a poke than a tartare in my opinion. Next up was their Vitello Tonnato salad. This was my least favorite of the night. The slices of roast beef were not tender and the salad didn't quite come together for me. For our entrées, we chose the Beef Cheeks and the grilled Lamb Chops. The lamb chops were exactly as expected, with a flavorful rub and cooked to perfection. But it was the beef cheeks that stole the show. They were slow cooked and fell apart the second you put your fork into them. They were obviously braised in red wine. The gnocchi underneath were obviously sautéed in the braising liquid as they took on the same red color and flavor. My only complaint about this dish is those gnocchi were not homemade. While tasty, they were obviously those vacuum sealed, store-bought types of gnocchi. This dish would have been so much better if those gnocchi were homemade. For dessert, we chose their signature Medovik, a multi layered cake. With the accompanying coffee, it was the perfect ending to the meal. We look forward to coming back and trying other things on the menu. Everything is a bit on the pricey side, but well worth it for a special occasion meal. I've been to Katsin in Glendale many times before and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, music, dancing, and overall experience, which is why this visit was especially disappointing. Tonight was meant to be a special birthday dinner for me, and although the restaurant was very busy with large parties, our table of two felt completely forgotten the entire evening. We spent a significant amount of money (around $150) and yet received very little attention once larger groups arrived. The most frustrating part was waiting nearly an hour after asking for boxes and the check. We had to flag down our waiter multiple times, and when we finally asked again, instead of apologizing, he responded as if we had been waiting by choice. It honestly left us shocked because we had already asked previously and had simply been ignored. What disappointed me even more was the manager's response. After asking whether we were satisfied, I explained that the restaurant appeared understaffed for the number of large parties being handled and that smaller tables were clearly being overlooked. His response was essentially that everyone is treated fairly, but unfortunately that was not our experience at all. I understand restaurants get busy, especially with large events, and I would have completely understood a sincere acknowledgment of the delay. Most restaurants at least apologize properly, check in, or offer some small gesture after such a long wait. Instead, we felt dismissed. It was also disappointing that despite mentioning it was a birthday celebration, there was no acknowledgment whatsoever -- not even a small candle or dessert gesture that many restaurants typically offer to help make guests feel welcomed and appreciated. I truly used to enjoy coming here, which is why this experience was so upsetting. The only thing that I hate is that they pick and choose how much they're going to charge for their hookah. $170 for hookah is crazy , insane to say the least . How does it go from $70 to $170 ? It's not even the real one with coals it's a vape . What's the reason? Also stop allowing more reservations than you can accommodate based on someone's status . read more

We went here for a birthday celebration and it was nothing short of amazing! They had it all from the great live entertainment to the super fresh, super flavorful food. Food and drink presentation was stunning and everything we had was packed with flavor. In additional to all of that, our server Zaur was absolutely AMAZING! It's an Armenian restaurant with ballroom type - dancing waiters. The food spread is basically lots of food starting from appetizers to the kabobs. It's great for big parties. Off the brunch I ordered the Caesar salad which came with bacon and chicken and it was actually really good. I'll give the food five out of five. For my drink I'll order the lemon drop and the passion D'or, Which was 5/5. I admired how they had a saxophone player which was very elegant! The customer service was really good and no rush!! The prices for hookah were quite expensive. When we came it was $150 then every hour it goes up $50 each hour.! Kind of crazy but mmmmmk lol I don't do hookah but it seems like the hookah was okay! My work wanted to do a Christmas party just for the team, and we were able to get a reservation here for 16 people. Our group was so big that we even had an extra table for where we put our gifts for the gift exchange. I wish I could speak more on the names of the food that was ordered, but we went with what was recommended to us. Needless to say, the food was very delicious. The lamb was very well cooked and the pairings with the cheese, wine, salad and seafood were all excellent. Tim was super attentive to all our needs. I was actually surprised he managed to accomodate all of us very timely. One of the members of the team was also celebrating her birthday. So we brought our own cake, and when Tim brought the cake out, it went from an ordinary cake presentation to being on a platform and a smoking one -with dry ice and a lotta smoke! Parking was easy. We celebrated my husband's birthday in Katsin and we couldn't ask for more fun entertainment and great food that Katsin in Glendale offers. We started with appetizers, and the beetroot salad was absolutely delicious! The beef chicks and lamb chops were on the next level. As much as the food and service were great, the highlight of the experience was the Katsin show - so much fun and so exhilarating. The evening ended with a special Birthday Show when the whole team approached our table with banners and flags and made a whole desert presentation while cheering for my husband's birthday!!! It as so awesome!!! The service was great. The prices were reasonable considering the good quality food and the whole show that's part of the experience. The valet parking was convenient, inside the subterranean parking with a direct access to the main entry of the restaurant. Will we be back? Absolutely yes! I went to the rise brunch party on Sunday to meet with a girlfriend I haven't seen in a while, I got the rise drink and mimosa at first. The drink was honestly really good 10/10. The omelette was just egg folded with nothing in it, two strips of bacon and shredded potato w hash browns or something on the side? The omelette was literally COMPLETELY unseasoned. No salt or pepper even. I don't know if they are all made like that? But I mean I ate it anyway. I don't know how that even happens or why anyone would even think to serve something like that. (The hash was seasoned i think unless it's just from bacon grease, wish they at least cooked the eggs in bacon grease, literally just some pepper and salt would've at least been a bit better). I had already had a mimosa and drink before receiving the food so I was in a good mood and didn't care to say anything especially since it's so crowded. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. In my opinion, the management should seriously evaluate its customer service standards and staff professionalism. I made a reservation for four people and arrived on time with my family. Upon arrival, the host showed us the main dining area, which was full of guests, and explained that all guests would be seated there that evening. However, instead of seating us in that section, he placed us in a separate area on the side of the restaurant that was completely empty except for my family. If you have visited this restaurant before, you will likely understand the area I am referring to. Unfortunately, our table was located directly in front of the kitchen, where there was a significant amount of smoke and an unpleasant odor. I was dining with two small children, and they began coughing because of the smoke. At that moment, I felt as though we were being treated differently from the other guests and that our comfort was not a priority. I politely asked if it would be possible to move to another table and explained that I had children with me who were uncomfortable in that location. The host responded rudely and stated that he had already told me it was not possible. His dismissive attitude was surprising and unprofessional. As a result, we decided to leave the restaurant. What disappointed me even more was that no one seemed concerned about our experience. No apology was offered, and no one even acknowledged our departure or wished us a good evening. Looking back, I am glad we chose not to stay. Considering the restaurant's high prices, I would have expected much better service and hospitality. We asked if a cake was allowed in the establishment since the whole point of going was to celebrate my friends bday, they told Us it wasn't allowed, well when we arrived there was a party there that came in with balloons and a cake, i was already annoyed. I love fries and shrimp tacos but let me just say that the tacos were so disappointing, the only flavor that existed in those 2 for $28 dollar wanna be tacos was the guacamole it had 2/10, $18 fries 3/10.. we ordered a bottle and even that with the ridiculous bottle service charge, we were given mediocre service, we constantly had to be asking for simple things that should already be served at a table. The waitress was sweet and their waffles I can honestly say a 10/10. Brunches used to be fun but now it's all about the socials, brunch music was 10/10 but people don't really function anymore, it's all about being seen and a little two step In between or maybe this just isn't a brunch spot for Latinos. Suggested some delicious dishes and I can tell he truly believed the dishes he recommended is excellent. Ambiance (5/5): Similar as last time, the decor is BEAUTIFUL. You can tell a lot of work went into the design and workman ship. Their intention is to bring a lively atmosphere with live music and dance performance. Food (5/5): Heirloom Tomatoes was sweet and packed with flavored. Paired with a nice earthy flavor from truffle oil and salty tanginess from feta cheese. Salmon Tar Tar was one of the best I've had. It sat on an amazing bed of Avocado Cream and dressed with tamarind sauce. A nice hack is if you take the complimentary chip that is given in the beginning and dip it into the tar tar :) . Octopus was cooked to perfection. Not even a slight bit chewy. Our server highly recommended this and it definitely did not disappoint. NY Steak cooked nice medium rare exactly as ordered. Lobster in Lobster mash was seasoned beautifully and cooked perfectly. Nicely firm and springy. Brownie with Gelato was an excellent finish for the night. They paired together PERFECTLY.
