    Happy Hour Margarita
    Anton F.

Hung out here for happy hour with my friends Nikki B, Te-See B and her sister. This small cocktail/dive bar offers draft beer, food and a variety of spirits you can enjoy inside or on the patio. The place was empty when we arrived at happy hour (4pm), by the time we left at close of happy hour (6pm) it was packed. I enjoyed an Old Fashioned and Margarita for $20. There is bar stool, bench seat and small table and chairs.

Food was the most mediocre food I have had in a while we ordered the wings which on the menu says come with 6 wings celery, carrots, radish and ranch. A chicken pesto sandwich and the "spicy" guacamole. First when we came in nobody came to us with a menu till ten minutes into us sitting down and then we got three drink menus and one food menu. When we decided what we wanted another 10 minutes passed till someone came to see what we wanted. We ordered and go our drinks 20 minutes passes and we get our "spicy" guacamole and wings. (When ordering our wings we asked if the radish could be replaced by carrots the server said sure). When the wings were brought to us there was exactly 2, 2" celery sticks and 3,2" carrot sticks (I guess the radish just got replaced with one carrot and on top of that for 15$ we got 4 wings and not 6. Then onto the guacamole... not spicy not salty not good not bad it was mashed avocado with huge chunks of onion and two tiny proceeding of tomatoes. The service was so slow and unbearable so no I wouldn't come back and no I would not recommend anyone go there.

As someone who lives in Glendale, this is definitely our neighborhood bar. My wife and I love to come here from time to time. They have the best daily specials wing Wednesday is always our favorite. We have the honor and privilege to try their chicken sandwich. It was so delicious that we even ordered a second one the fries are always nice crispy and salty in a good way. We have only had the opportunity to have two of the bartenders always be our regular bartenders when we come in and that's Sean and Willy. Thank you, Willie for making me a delicious pickle martini.

Went with friends to eat here for Dine LA . I ordered the Vegan Linguine Bolognese that came with a side salad and glass of wine. The food was really good, and I was surprised this spot had great menu choices. My friends ordered the burger and mussels and enjoyed them fully!

We love this bar! It's got laid back welcoming atmosphere that makes it perfect catching up with friends. The drinks were great and the staff are super friendly, cool energy. One of our fav!

I have lived in Glendale for many years and drove by this place hundreds of times. Today I finally came here to eat and have a few drinks. All I have to say is that this is the Spot. Great food, beer, and atmosphere. The bartenders are very friendly. I will be returning.

He's so full of shit. And anyone who is experienced will know it.

The clown bartender from Ireland thinks he knows spirits. He doesn't. Call him out on his bullshit. He will tell you 10 times he's from Ireland. Big deal. The guy knows nothing about great whiskey or whisky. Bullshit artists are a dime a dozen these days. *You should go to another bar for great cocktails.

Why such a long hiatus? The tap list over the last months just hasn't had anything I've wanted to drink. It's been a lot of repeats of things I've had over and over or beers that just aren't appealing -- or, in many cases, both. The Glendale Tap used to have a fairly good turnover of new brews, but lately, it seems to be in a rut. Imports are pretty much never to be seen -- like everywhere else, sadly. Even out-of-state beers are rare. And on my most recent visit, at least half of the tap list was tapped out. IPAs and sours take up so much of the list -- stouts in the cooler months -- while styles like bitters, milds, (non-India) pale ales, brown ales, bocks, amber lagers, smoked beers, etc., get little to no space on the tap list. I still love the atmosphere of the Glendale Tap, and the bartenders there are the best. Prices are fair, and there's always something at least decent to drink. But I miss those fulsome tap lists with a variety of beer styles from far and wide. More and more, the Glendale Tap is becoming too much like every other beer bar. I know L.A. beer drinkers are extremely parochial with very limited tastes (basically IPA, IPA, IPA, and IPA, with some super sours thrown in), but I would hope the Glendale Tap could return to just a smidgen of its former excellence. Until then, I probably will be visiting biannually instead of bimonthly.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Upon asking our server why he was still there after treating her like that she stated she was going to have another person take care of them. There's a nice selection of English and Spanish 80s and 90s music playing in the background and a fantastic relaxed vibe with a great selection of vintage decor and memorabilia all over the hangar building. We sat in the small upstairs area with cozy seating, a large TV and a balcony view of everything and everyone below, including views of the back area with the beertanks. The second level is stairs access only. They are both kid and pet friendly throughout the entire space. There's a small patio area with access only through the front and located to the side of the hangar (i didn't see any heaters tho). There are 3 co-ed restrooms which are only located on the bottom floor near the entrance. I'm not sure if parking gets difficult, but we got lucky with street parking right in front. Something to point out... Although we stayed for an entire football game, we didn't really encounter too many employees during our visit (so not sure if they were short staffed or they don't really go upstairs). We didn't feel comfortable leaving our glasses and trash from the foodtruck and with consideration to others, we bussed our own table/space before leaving. The only interaction with staff was when ordering the beer at the front counter and they were polite. Something to keep in mind... dress warm or according to the weather. The building is an open hangar and although they have space heaters throughout, it got a bit cold when we were there (January)... they eventually closed part of the entrance door, so i guess they felt it too lol! I'm sure it's the opposite during summer, so I guess I'll find out then. Overall, visually pleasing, great use of space and vintage decor, cozy and relaxed vibes. I'll definitely visit again and will be adding to the list of favorites. Fun times!

It was easy to feel comfortable and even easier to want to come back. They have a really solid beer selection, but the real winner is their cider--it's 8% alcohol, which is insane for a cider, but hey, I'm not complaining. They had the hockey game on, which I definitely appreciated, and they also have a pool table where you can write your name down to play. Not sure if there's a charge for that, but either way, it's a nice touch.
