Came out to Bodega for a Tap Takeover & the selection was amazing! On top of this, the pricing for food was quite swell - their loaded fries are awesome. My only complaint is the noise. Good beer selection. Watched a bartender reach into a big jar of olives with his bare hand while preparing a customer's drink. Then, without washing his hands, he proceeded to enter various orders on the cash register and serve beers (holding them by the rim of the glass with his olive juice hands). Really? There are no tongs to retrieve the olives with? He couldn't wash his hands? Every good server handles a glass by the stem or the bottom. It was a big turnoff and I wouldn't go back. read more

Tired Bodega for Columbus Burger & Beer Week. Going through the menu we noticed it was half off wings on Wednesdays, the server suggested the chipotle maple wings and the were a very good choice. The atmosphere is a little noisy with the music level and the place not being very big. We had the Big Mic and instantly all i'm thinking is this burger is a straight copy of McDowell's the fictional restaurant in the movie Coming to America. They have two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions but their buns (McDonald's) has seeds, McDowells & Bodega's has no seeds, go figure....copyright much?! Lol The burger was good and tasty and we had truffles fires also, the portion is so large we were fine sharing. What we did notice while in the restaurant, one of the bar tenders was taking w/ a friend or customer he was acquainted with that had a dog, in the restaurant and the bar tender pet the dog and proceeded to run his hands under water in the bar sink w/ no soap or legit hand washing and then wipe his hands on his pants, NOT SANITARY! Great little niche brewery for those who want to try out new flavors. Tons of TV's to watch sports. Inside and outside seating is nice.

My sentimental side for what the old bodega used to be, coupled with a nearly unsurpassed beer selection in a great, crisp environment, are the only reasons I would give this, once truly great, establishment a generous rating of 3 stars. However the food is worlds away from its former luster. It has gone from providing some of the most unique cheese selections daily in conjunction to a vibrant and creative menu to a simple booth (no food server provided) that offers simple, fried, comfort food. It's like Woodland's Tavern in Grandview hired Bodega to do interior design for them and replaced Mikey's late night with comfort food. read more

Bodega is a great spot to meet friends for a drink or a bite to eat. Their bagel is amazing, and their hummus and pita is my favorite. Servers are very nice and accommodating! Can be hard to find a seat if it's busy. But never been an issue for me. read more

Went for happy hour which is long - not ending at 6 p.m. like other watering holes. Nice selection of drafts half off - had the Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster DIPA - one of my favs!! Wife had Kentucky Mules which were good but not served in the traditional copper mug (nitpicking). Had the hummus and feta dip appetizer with pita chips - excellent. The service was good. Has good views of High Street and 2 long benches with bar tops on the sidewalk if you really want to people watch. Will be back. read more

Went here around 9 with two friends. Our drinks were good and everyone liked their food. A lot of beer options.The grilled cheese special had way too much cheese on it though and it wasn't very flavorable. The place is not very big and they had the music playing incredibly loud so we couldn't have a conversation. I would only stop here again for drinks if I was bar hoping in Short North. read more

I'm new the Columbus, OH area (today officially makes 2 weeks...woohoo!) and already I've been back to Bodega twice. The service is great, the beers that they brew are delicious (and I absolutely HATE beer) you don't even realize you're drinking beer, it's that good. The space is large enough that you have room to move but also cozy enough that you don't feel the need to shout to get someone's attention. The outdoor space seems nice, although I haven't used it yet since it's the dead of winter lol. I believe on Tuesday they have $2 tacos and $5 margaritas (very strong might I add) which is yummy! You have your choice of chicken, fish, or vegetable. It's really good for the dollar amount. I would recommend everyone to check it or at least once. See for yourself how much you'll enjoy it. read more

Bodega, due to some management stuff, is changing up a few things like the menu and wallpaper . The major change that will take some getting used to is the meandering waiting staff. I went there during happy hour on a Wednesday. The happy hour specials are great! I specifically downloaded the Yelp app to review the delicious food at Bodega. I ordered the grilled cheese and added jalapeños which came with a side of fries and hands down, this was the best grilled cheese I have ever had. Best part, my entire and beer was $10.. While I definitely miss the "old" Bodega, I still love Bodega. Awesome draft selection, ample seating considering the size, good food, super friendly staff. Depending on the day/time you go, the crowd can be annoying. I'll go out on a limb and say this is the best bar in the Short North. read more

I ordered Bodega fried chicken through skipthedishes along with some other dishes (I posted a photo because I still can't believe any kitchen with integrity would serve what I got). It arrived burned black on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Inedible. I called skipthedishes and Bodega comped the chicken but given I was out my delivery fee, large tip and still had to go scounging for dinner, they should have comped the entire dinner. I can only figure that that since it was for delivery, I would not complain. Pitiful and unprofessional. I'd give you no stars if I could. read more

Wow! I haven't been back here since 2012, and I must say I like what they have done with the layout. Much better. However, I don't know if I am sold on the whole order window for food hmmm... I didn't personally order any food on my last visit though, so fingers crossed. I am planning my next visit to be on their famous dollar grilled cheese night, since this last visit was just to watch the Cavs game. Their bartenders are so nice! Jimmy has always been a fan of Bodega. They have an amazing draft list and the beer is half off from 4-8pm. The bartenders are always really nice to Jimmy and I appreciate that especially since Jimmy lacks hipster cred. To complain about Bodega when they so graciously provide Jimmy delicious beer during happy hour makes Jimmy feel a little like an ingrate. But can Jimmy get a back for his back? Usually love this place for their variety of good beer. Have been here for brunch a few times and thought they had one of the best breakfast burritos in town. Recently went here for brunch and was disappointed to see that they had changed the menu (again). I got the "Casey veggies" a veggie filled omelet and the potato cake. The omelet looked premade and tasted the same. The giant potato cake was quiet salty and the sour cream they gave as a side tasted like it expired. My partner got their chicken and waffles, labeled as a "house specialty" and that tasted pretty good. Staff and bartender were all very polite. Had to wait 30+ minutes for our food even though the restaurant was half empty. read more

Stopped here for appetizers and beers when I visited Columbus a few weeks back. The space itself is really cool - it is a renovated former biker bar and the walls open to the outside when weather is nice. The beer list is AWESOME and the happy hour deal is fabulous (half price drafts!). As an out-of-towner visiting, I appreciated both the quantity and variety of local beers on tap (Columbus Brewing, Seventh Son, etc.). The food and service were less impressive. It took at least 15 minutes for anyone to realize that we were even there. The calamari we ordered was bland, as was the hummus plate. My girlfriend and I stopped by Bodega before the Ratatat concert in Columbus a few weeks ago and we were not disappointed. On Fridays they have a fish and chips special for $6!!! It was a smaller portion but still delicious with what I think was the best tartar sauce we've ever had. We also got the pork belly nachos which came loaded with queso. They have an excellent beer selection and reasonable prices for food and drink. I highly recommend checking out Bodega if you find yourself in Short North. read more

I'm a fan of Bodega's Monday deals: $1 grilled cheese, half-off drafts, and $3 wells on Mondays. The grilled cheese definitely exceeds expectations for only a dollar. It's big, comes with both a slice of swiss and a slice of cheddar cheese, and you can get stuff like bacon ($0.75) or tomatoes ($0.50) in it. The bacon could've been crispier--it was a bit undercooked--but still tasty, especially for the price of the sandwich. Pretty broad/good beer selection ($5-7 for a pint). Nice patio area where you can people-watch facing High St., though only an option if you don't mind smoking. read more

Came here for lunch while visiting Columbus for a friends wedding. We all ordered drinks, the raspberry lemonade was awesome (one star). We all got food - the burger, veggie omelette with no cheese, and 2 orders of steak and eggs. It took about 45 minutes for the food to come. When the food came out, both orders of the steak and eggs were cold and had to be sent back. The steak was also already chopped up which is not what anyone was expecting. The omelette had cheese in it, which wasn't realized until a few bites in. When the steak and eggs came back, it clearly had just been microwaved and was still cold. At this point everyone was hungry and cranky so we just ate it anyway. The waiter was concerned we hadn't eaten much so we explained the situation. He ended up comping our bill and apologized over and over even though it clearly wasn't his fault (two star). Service was excellent, the food not so much. read more

I love the beer here. They have awesome looking handles for the beers that are on draft. They have a very nice small patio area. The food is also eceptionally good. Any of there soups and sandwiches together make for a very delightful and flavorful combo. Heres why I rated this place a two though because everytime I go to this place I get horrible service. I come in everytime sit my jacket on my chair and everytime someone else has come in after me like 5 minutes later and they sit right beside me and serve them first. This has happened three times with two different bartenders. It's left a very sour taste in my mouth. read more
