We went on a Saturday night to meet our friends. We had gotten a reservation and I recommend getting one. They have valet parking which is really nice and they also validate parking. There are two lots one is free parking and the other is paid parking (validated). The ambience is totally enjoyable. The bar is really nice. They have such extensive seating spaces and they were still packed which says a lot about how amazing it is to be there. The service was impeccable, extremely friendly and super attentive. They have a very extensive drink menu and food menu. They have wine flights and various experience options which I thought was amazing. Don't expect large portions but you can expect delicious food. Fantastic Tapas and paella. We did the meal for two and added some additonal tapas. The mussels were great, and the lamb lollipops and octupus were the best I've eaten. Eh...overrated is the word. I would say the majority of the reviews for this restaurant that have been submitted on Yelp and Google are provided from inexperienced diners who have 2 good meals a year. I can see how many individuals could be duped by the ambiance of the restaurant's interior, it's city location, and the word tapas to make it seem more than it is. For me a least, they failed to meet the mark. One example of this being that the photographs found on the restaurants' website are on a much different level than the plates I saw served in person. What a tease. While the website does also mention their tapas plates range from simple to sophisticated, I found most stayed around the simple fare range. I'll mention the breakfast diner potatoes later. I wanted to like the restaurant and leave a good review as I am usually motivated to do, but unfortunately too many aspects of my dinning experience were off. I am wondering if this was not just an isolated occurrence, but rather the normal operations of this establishment. Worcester location has spoken, maybe I'll try Wellesley? Food presentation and service were the lowest ranked categories for my visit last night as I met up with two girlfriends for a birthday bite. While I do speak up when unsatisfied during a meal, given the reason for dinning, I was not about to make a complaint or send my sad dry salmon back to the kitchen. It just wouldn't be fair given that the birthday girl had selected the location herself. My Jerk Salmon dish listed as one of this month's specials arrived awkwardly late and last out of 4 other plates. For context, I had communicated to the server that I do not eat egg or dairy and to modify the Special "Jerk Salmon" dish so that I could enjoy it (maybe some sort of dressing or garnish?" I suggested) Enjoy it...I did not. Special...it was not. I do not feel I was provided an adequate substitute for the dish. There comes a point where too many modifications of a dish renders it completely different and lacking in many ways. I understand this. This being said, I was not outright asking for plain dry unseasoned jerkless salmon with a side of vegetables...that happened to be sautéed peppers and onions cut into small cubes? (picture included) If she knew the dish would be presented this way maybe she could've suggested another option? Maybe there was a miscommunication with the chef? I had also ordered the Patatas Asadas with my meal but these had been completely forgotten so I had to reorder them. At this point I suggested starting a check, one seperate from my friends' plates, for the potatos and salmon and so that I could order a few plates to-go for my bf at home. The server (who shared with me she had been at Bocado for over 10 years) must have been having a rough night. My potatoes never came to the table and were instead grouped with the to-go dishes that I took home. Maybe it was a loud Saturday night and she misheard me? The potatoes were a sight (picture included) and were giving cheap breakfast diner or college dinning hall potatoes. However, I actually think most breakfast diners would put these 'tatoes to shame. Again, the case of a modified dish that fell lifeless. It is spooky season I guess . What must happen when this dish is served as it is listed on the menu with "saffron & tomato allioli, black truffle oil" is that these components do a solid job of covering up the "crispy roasted potato" imposters and properly dupe those poor unsuspecting diners who keep leaving good reviews. Whether the saffron or black truffle oil are authentic ingredients I will never know...maybe the chef could've spared a dash of oil to help with those potatoes? The next day I receive a call asking me where all the food went. I tell my man, "it's in the fridge no?". He replies "yes I see the desert and the shrimp salad with fried avocado but there's a random salad I never ordered and I don't see any meatloaf or that Cubano". I think back...okay I had a couple glasses of wine by the end of the night and probably wasn't aware that I stored a salad in the fridge that I had never ordered and not the two dishes my bf now says are not there. I look back at the receipt...yes we were charged for the meatloaf...and never received it..and no he never ordered a large salad? I told him I would call back to see if something could be remade today to make up for the fact we were charged for a dish we never received but he said don't bother. The first time I dined with Bocado Tapas Wine Bar in Worcester was earlier this year with my bf. We enjoyed ourselves and the table with the large window that provides a wonderful street view but only a couple dishes were enough to return for. After last night's experience and a bf not happy about a missing meatloaf dish and Cubano he would've had for his lunch today..we will not return to Worcester. read more

Went last night for the first time and had an AMAZING time! Reservations: Really easy to make online with no need to call and you can see all the times that are available. Parking: Super easy, there's parking available right across the street and the gates were out of order so it was free and plenty was available at 5:15pm for our reservation, but I could see how it might be more full later on so keep that in mind when considering your arrival time. Decor/environment: The restaurant is so much bigger than it looks from the outside yet still feels really intimate in the way the booths are set up. The art and music were both appropriate to the Spanish theme. It's also handicap accessible. Drinks: We both got a flavored white wine sangria and they were delicious! We did prefer the peach over the strawberry. Food: Absolutely incredible! We chose to do the experience for 2 and we left with enough food to make another meal for us the next day (half a tapa, most of our paella, and our desert. You will NOT leave hungry! Highly recommend the fried goat cheese with honey, and the brisket, but honestly everything was amazing. Service: We had Shaw as our server and his attention to detail and his enthusiasm and knowledge of the menu really topped everything off. He was able to make both drink and food recommendations and he paced our food extremely well so we never felt overwhelmed or rushed to make it to the next dish. We are looking for a place in Worcester to have our rehearsal dinner and decided to try out Bocado. It did not disappoint! We walked in on a Saturday night around 6 and we're allowed to sit at the bar. The place is a lot bigger than I anticipated and could easily be sectioned off for a party. We started with the wine/cocktail list (of course). Very extensive and I love how they offer wine in 2oz glasses as well. For food, we tried the 2 person experience for $90. It sounds like a lot but the portion size was really generous so was totally worth it. With the experience you get 2 plates from the cheese and meat board. We got the honey goat cheese which was excellent and the chorizo which was alright. For tapas, you get 6 or 4 with paella. We choose to do the 6 tapas and decided to go with the bacon wrapped scallops, wagyu burgers, mussells, duck, lamb chops, and brisket. The brisket, lamb chops and bacon wrapped scallops were delicious! Could have definitely skipped the duck. It didn't have much flavor. And mussels and burgers were alright. Dessert we had the churros and chocolate. Very tasty but we were both really full. Overall, delicious dinner and good price for the amount you get. read more

We were told we can't have a table or booth because they are not staffed properly but parties after us did get those. Our waitress told us to not order certain dishes because we had "a small table". Not only do they have a very good selection of tapas, but they also have several types of paella and legit sangria. The service is always friendly, the atmosphere is the perfect casual date spot, and the food is always on point. Prices aren't terrible, and parking is available in a lot across the street. Bocado has a great selection of delicious food! Went here with my friend for Worcester Restaurant Week and was able to sample their paella and various tapas. The summer paella came with shrimp, chicken, and fresh zucchini. I love how they bake their paella such that there are some crispy parts in the flavorful dish. Out of the tapas we tried, they were all fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. My favorite was the tender pecho de res cocido (5 hour braised beef brisket with garlicky mashed potatoes). As a poor student, I likely can't go here often since ordering multiple tapas can easily add up. However, I'll definitely come back during the next WRW promotion or for a special occasion! read more

Actually all of the dips were great! Scratch that...all of the food was delicious!!!
