Everything about this place is amazing!! From food to service, we love having this restaurant so close to home!

Went here last night for dinner, our server Kim was awesome! We got the bread basket which is not worth 7 dollars unfortunately. It's just a bunch of cold bread with whipped "honey" butter and cold roasted garlic.. would not order again. I wish the bread was warm that would've been a game changer! The honey wings and truffle fries were EXCELLENT!! The char on the wings were amazing and the fries were absolutely perfect. I can't wait to come back for these! The beef bolognese was decent, my fiancé was not a huge fan but I thought it was okay! (he is way more picky than me lol) The restaurant is always clean, food comes out fast & fresh and service is great. the "in a pear tree" was delicious as well! But the margarita was a little too bitter for our liking. I'm excited to come back to try new items! read more

Just went again last week. And I have to say everything was not only good, not only great, it was outstanding. First off I wanna say that their crispy brussels sprouts are an absolute piece of art. I could eat those things all day every day. Properly crispy outside, but not reduced to mush on the inside. With a great parm dipper. We each had something different but I had the veal Bolognese. Incredible. Just a deep rich meaty flavor. I'm pretty sure they made that pasta that it was on there. More like a thick cut noodle, but man did it have great texture and flavor. Service was fantastic. I think we had a veteran server. She was very patient with our indecisive stupidity. We got there about 30 minutes before the dinner rush on a Saturday evening. We were seated quickly at a great table. The place slowly filled up as we ate our dinner. Everybody seemed to be having a great time. I would say the price is moderate to high moderate. But I also feel like it was worth every penny. read more

We stumbled upon Romaines tonight. The place has plenty of parking and amble seating. Even though it was a busy Friday night, and we didn't have a reservation, they were able to sit us right away. The place is very beautiful. They even have sound dampening on the ceiling to keep it from being too loud, which I appreciate. The service was impeccable. From the moment we walked in till we walked out the door we were taken care of. Not only by our server but also the hosts. Now the food. We had 2 apps. The calamari which I wouldn't get again. It was a bit chewy. Not terrible but I've had better and I prefer a red sauce and they served it with sweet chili. The second was maple roasted carrots with Harissa, yogurt and pistachios. It was good but I would like a little more nuts. Our Main dishes were the brick roasted chicken and the steak tips. I ordered the tips medium with double salad. They were perfect. The salad was arugula with blue cheese and onions which went amazingly with the beef. Hubby got the chicken it was served with roasted garlic and lemon sauce. Along with mashed potatoes and arugula. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were very good as well. Overall this was a great place. I would say go give it a try. We decided on 4 stars because there was nothing that we have to come back for but it's a beautiful place that deserves a try. read more

Some friends and I went here recently for a dinner. The decor was pretty and it felt warm and welcoming. The food was good, but not great. You had to buy the bread basket if you wanted bread. I feel like giving your customers a few of the expected extras goes along way. The drinks were good and we did have a nice time. Our waitress was fine. So overall, I think I would return if friends wanted to go there. Some of the dishes we had were chicken piccata, shrimp Alfredo, salmon, and steak tacos. Nothing outstanding but all acceptable. read more

Romaine's has the best pork chop!! Tender and juicy! Amazing. You pay for bread service, but it's a generous bread basket and I think it's worth it! The creole shrimp appetizer is back!! Oh how we missed this! It is the best shrimp appetizer I've ever had! The under the brick chicken remains epic!! Service is always great! The dining room is big and airy with the tables spread enough apart so you can have a nice conversation without the other diners hearing your every word. Still not a fan of the steel chairs, but the white washed plank walls with the barn doors I love! Romaine's is definitely on my top 3 list for restaurants in MetroWest. Highly recommend!! read more

Romaine's has a clean and calming environment. They have a good amount of bar space and the restaurant is buzzing with people having a good time. The servers are very attentive and food is brought out quickly. We had the under the brick chicken and the shrimp scampi. The chicken was good - a large portion! The shrimp scampi was so good - might be the best we have ever had! The sauce was light and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend. Romaine's is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It has a warm vibe- great space and service. It's pretty large so they've been able to handle Covid well. The food is exceptional. The menu is big Emigh that there are plenty of options without being overwhelming. Each dish has something unique about it, and the dishes reflect all sorts of different cuisines. During our last recent visit we enjoyed the shrimp and calamari for appetizers, the jambalaya and the fish tacos for dinner, and the beignets for dessert. read more

This was a great find! When the options in Northborough began to thin, we headed west only to stubble upon this place one evening. From the Rt 20 and Main St. you don't see it coming west. But when the restaurant we went to was a flop, we quickly turned around and headed to Romaines, and it was well worth it! Sit at the bar to talk with the locals and engage with the numerous bartenders they have floating back and forth. Front he bar specials to the weekly specials, to their regular offerings you can't go wrong with your choice. The drinks are numerous, too! If you enjoyed Neighborhod Tavern at its prime, you'll love Romaine, who appears to always be in their prime! read more

It took me years of living here to try Romaine's and I was surprised at how delightful it was! The decor and lighting is beautiful - if you want cozy ambiance, they've got it. The food is great (see photos!), the sangria delicious, and the staff very welcoming and attentive. Can't wait to go back! read more

Another strip mall standout. Does not look like anything special from the outside, but had a fantastic experience here all around. Cocktails, food and service were incredible. They had a fresh swordfish special that sounded amazing, but I went with the haddock and so glad I did. It was perfectly cooked and served with a delicious creamy olive sauce. Deviled eggs were topped with pastrami and sriracha. Yum. The house sangria was white and the special cocktail was a blood orange margarita. The dessert list wasn't that appealing, but they did have some fun and fancy dessert cocktail choices. read more

This is high in our list of favorite restaurants. Food, service, atmosphere- they have it all. I would call the atmosphere "fine casual". It's not white table cloth but you'll want to be dressed smart casual. This is a busy place so do get a reservation if you want dining room seating. The mixed green salad is a favorite, fresh, light and I love the pecans. The BBQ shrimp are delicious and can serve as a meal for a light eater. Service here is always top notch; servers are experienced pros. The owner is on premise on busy weekend nights and it shows- things run smoothly. Listen to the specials as they really are special, not something they are trying to get rid of. Wonderful food, consistent experience. read more

Just enjoyed a relaxing dinner with 5 good friends to celebrate one of our Birthday. Sandi C. was our server, and I feel, helped to add to our enjoying experience. We had the Bar Chips and Truffle Fries with drinks to start. We all ordered different Entrees, Steak, Salmon, Haddock, Fish Tacos and Steak Tips. All were excellent and plentiful. Seven of us ate at Romaine's yesterday. The food was excellent as always. The steaks melted in our mouth. The pork was tender and perfectly seasoned. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The sides and presentation were unique and eye appealing. The appetizers were very tasty. The deserts were to die for. Our waitress was very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive. The ambiance was the cherry on the cake to our epic dining experience. One of our party was from Toronto and one was from Boston. Both agreed that they had never had a better meal. The food was excellent. My husband got a steak that was very flavorful. The main meal took a really long time to come out after our appetizer. Which made sitting at their uncomfortable table and chairs almost unbearable. They only have a handful of booths with lots of tables in the middle of the room. You can't request booth seating either as it's first come first serve. Although we might get takeout from there because the food was delicious, I wouldn't want to risk sitting in those chairs again during another visit. read more

Two of us were there for dinner on s weekend. I didn't make a reservation so we were seated in the bar. Cocktails were very good. The crispy brussel sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. The menu was very limited. I was expecting a larger selection as when I went on the website. After the appetizer, we waited quite a while to get our entrees. My steak tips looked as though they were cut from a top round roast. Tough. French fries were soggy. I was really looking forward to come and try this for the first time. It was just very ordinary at best. I would not recommend it. A bit too pricey for the quality of food. I probably won't go there again. read more

Visiting from out of town and a local recommended Romaine's. Actually got take out everything and all the food was fantastic Calling in the the order was easy. Was read back a few times and everything was well packed for hotel dining. Only gripe there is they don't offer plates or plastic ware and we ordered big to share. Had to source elsewhere. Tried a Caesar salad, chicken piccata, chicken under a brick and the bolognese. Every one was excellent Could be five stars if we ate there and got to see the service at work. We had a very nice dining experience tonight. The steak tips were cooked as requested (medium rare), the fries did not disappoint, and the arugula salad dressing was great with the hint of bleu cheese. The bread service was crusty but soft and pillowy inside. The fish tacos were a hit with just the right proportions of slaw and spicy chipotle sauce to complement the fish. Great place for nice intimate dinner that is not too expensive. Most entrees were around $15-30. We came here on a Friday night and it was busy but we were able to get seats for two people. We had the crab cakes, steak and jambalaya. Complimentary bread with butter and garlic was offered. The The bread was nice and warm. The crab cakes were delicious! The jambalaya had shrimp, sausage and chicken, though it was mediocre. The steak was delicious and so was the sauce, however, the dish was overall salty and there wasn't much to balance that. Chill, adult vibe on a Friday night. Patrons dresses chic casual. Nice cocktail, wine and beer lists. Menus not extensive but diverse. We enjoyed the crab cake appetizer with Hollandaise, pork Bolognese sauce with fresh linguine and the Korean chicken sandwich. Sandwich is yummy but hard to manage if your hands are smaller. Service was wonderful. Like a good referee, you barely notice that they're there. Reasonably priced local spot. Perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. read more

We live about an hour away, but go to Romaines occasionally. Some of their menu items are very good. Last weekend we drove out that way, thinking we'd place our order on their online system when we were a half hour away. Couldn't get the online system to work so finally called the restaurant (although the online system says don't call as they are too busy to answer the phone). So, the phone message said they were closed due to Covid exposure. There was no indication of this on their website or on the online ordering system. So it was a wasted trip. I've updated my review after a second response from the restuarant. We're all struggling with the pandemic. I get it. read more

This is our local restaurant that we went to occasionally. Since COVID it's been more like once a week. The food never disappoints. The service on curbside pickup is excellent. All of the workers are always so friendly. My kids love the kids cheeseburger and fries... Such a good deal at 10$. We also like the adult burger, fish tacos, tips and frits, Chicken under a brick, the wings are great, the calamari is excellent (better when fresh, it steams in the box). Good to great spot. Warm, inviting bar. I was impressed that the bar top was so deep, it was a great size for sharing food. Had the short rib and really enjoyed it. A number of tables around me ordered fish tacos and I will be going back to try them. Bar staff could be a bit more attentive to guests- I had to request a few things instead of a being checked on. So we have been here twice and I do like it. Crispy Brussels are a must try. Jambalaya pasta was loved by my husband and he had it both times. First time I tried the pork chop but it was not that great. Thick, took for ever, way to salty and not worth trying. However everything else was great. The second time I had the under the brick chicken and wow, so worth it and delicious! Worth making a trip for some dinner. A must try.
