We went to Bob's place after it was recommended by a relative who had just been to Avon. We had a group of 6 which included 2 kids - ages 6 and 8. We seated ourselves in the restaurant area but I had to go look around. The bar area is very large and open with lots of TV's and games. Our server, Allie, was friendly and efficient. We sat down and then the restaurant area closed at 2pm so we had it to ourselves. People were still being served in the bar and on the patio. The food was good with large portions and the menu had a great variety. The walls are covered with photographs and posters of famous Bob's and it was fun to look at those. We enjoyed our meal and decided to go back the next day. The second time we sat on the patio and again had good service and good food. The patio experience was nicer than the inside dining room area so if the weather is nice, I'd recommend that. read more

This restaurant is in an office complex. We still found it! Matt wanted to watch the preseason game and they had all the sports on! Their menu is vast and I wanted everything! The service was so friendly. I want to come back and try so many more things. The food was good. I had the enchiladas with the tequila sauce. It wasn't spicy and I wanted the chicken dipped in it for more flavor. I just ordered a fried jalepeno to spice it up and that did the trick. The prices were very reasonable too! I was completely blown away by the outstanding service and quality of food today. We sat outside and had a clear view, they have a fantastic patio. First, mountain towns can be pricey but not at Bob's! 2 meals and sodas with a GF Bun for under $50 with tip. They have so many choices that I was able to easily find something gluten free. I went with a burger and a gf bun. The server, Emmanuel was so impressive. Not only did he touch every table, clean up as he was going, but got our orders right with no issue. Having food allergies, I tend to have something happen when a server is busy but no, not today. He was also very knowledgeable about the fryer so I opted for coleslaw. The portions are healthy and I had leftovers with the size of my entree. The entire staff is friendly and they definitely don't miss a beat. I am looking forward to coming back soon. I had a very disappointing night the other day at Bobs Place. We went on a busy night and sat on the restaurant side. The host was super sweet but forgot to tell the waitress that we were seated in the back. I was still confused as to how she never noticed us sitting there as she was helping the table next to us. I eventually had to go back to the host stand and ask if he could get the waitress to serve us as we had been waiting 30+ minutes without even being served water. Oh and side note, while waiting to be served we found a mostly drank Bloody Mary (I think) hidden behind the condiments on the table. Like ew. After the waitress finally came over and apologized she took our order. The kind host actually brought us free chips and guacamole which was super yummy and we really appreciated it. Then we got our mozzarella sticks which were good. My boyfriend ordered a French dip which he liked and I ordered the green chile mac and cheese with blackened chicken. I actually really like my entree, but all in all we were there for around 2 hours by the time we got everything and ate. This was one of my favorite stop when I was in vail. I popped in to watch the CU game, and to grab some breakfast. It got really busy really quickly, but our wait staff was on top of it, keeping our drinks full and getting our food out quick. It was a fun place to watch the game and hangout for a game. We stopped here the first night of our vacation in Avon. We checked in and they gave Mom her beer free. I had the shrimp fajitas which were awesome. It came with rice and beans that they let me swap out for a cup of the tortilla soup. Way too much for me. It could easily be split. Plus we ordered the dip trio for an appetizer. Guacamole and Queso were great, the salsa was spicy but good too. Hubby had the burger which he ordered medium but came well done so was drier than he wanted but had a great flavor. He absolutely loved the tater tots. Christopher had the schezuan boneless wings and tots. He ate every bite. He still talks about how good they were. Mom had the a chicken sandwich with fries. She loved her sandwich! We sat on the patio so it was fairly smoky at times. Eat inside if you don't mind that but they don't have air conditioning. This is why we rated it 4 stars. We love the city of Avon where everything is just a short walk away. Over the years we've shared a lot of great times with our family at Bob's Place. Away for six years now, we returned May 2025 to Avon and found that Bob's Place, a sports bar, is the same wonderful place- reliable and such a good value. Normally I only bother to write up restaurant reviews if they are either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Bob's Place is a solid 3 but worth writing about anyway. It seems like a restaurant that can't decide whether it is a night club, a sports bar, or a burger joint. The burgers are good but not great. There are several pool tables and fuseball tables which are in constant use, there are televisions all around and loud music playing all the time and a lot of the patrons seem like they are there for a night club kind of environment. Most of all it is really really noisy. The service was good and quick despite how busy it was. The best aspect o can recommend about this place is that it stays open really late. They still serve burgers and bar food until midnight. I was in town for work which usually kept me up late so I ate here a couple nights in a row. There was a very attractive woman tending the bar but even so I don't think it would be worth coming back to such a noisy place if there were any other decent restaurants open late in Avon. read more

I happened to be in the area in the morning and had some time to kill so I took a look at Bob's Place and appreciated that they offered breakfast so I ordered from their menu to-go. I ordered the Asher's Scramble (3 eggs scrambled with swiss cheese and topped with fresh sliced avocado and served with potatoes and toast). It was good and provided a perfectly sufficient breakfast for the price and in this area. For a place that seems very much a sports bar, it still delivered on a fairly enjoyable breakfast. I also enjoyed that their entryway was filled with photos of guys named Bob who happen to have eaten there. I really liked that Bob Vila once ate at Bob's Place. Definitely a solid breakfast option if you're in Avon and looking for something better than a fast food breakfast! read more
