Be honest, if you're from another state or city that's been doing the boba thing then u know what it tastes like. this place is ok. i like it. i'm not in love with it but there's also not another boba place besides Austin hwy which is on the OTHER side of town for me and even that's still ok. I love the gellies and they're pretty nice people behind the counter, they served me and my son a drink even though we came in 10 minutes before they were closing. There's really not a lot of places here in San Antonio that can satisfy your boba craving but this, is one of the decent ones. Great customer service and they can always make your drink just how you want it. I always get their chocolate/banana combo and I'm always happy with it everytime I order it. I love how there's so many different varieties. You can choose from a list of different flavors, boba or jellies, slushy or on the rocks, and creamy or fruity. The other places don't offer that many options. Their tapioca is rather chewy which is how I prefer. The place lacks lighting, descent couch/lounge chairs, and decorations. I have visited the Philippines several time where these drinks are mega-popular. I have to say my favorite drink flavor is the Taro flavor but the one at Bobalicious is good but not great. If I have a craving every once and a while then we will go to Bobalicious but it not good enough to make it a weekly affair. Though it is good to know that when you have a craving for tapioca ball drinks you can get your fix. And the atmosphere is always pretty cool. There is a Filipino restaurant in the same shopping center with some nice owners but my wife's cooking is better. read more

I had ordered a basic watermelon slush with boba, he charged me, and it was all good. I get my order and it's bubblegum? and i told the cashier this wasn't mine, but he kept insisting it was. i let it be and told him it was fine, and even though i said it was fine, he just kept attacking. listen, if i say it's fine, let it be, don't attack the customer for letting an accident that you made slide. i ended up throwing away the drink because i am not a fan of bubblegum. i get it, having to deal with people and drinks gets hard, but at least listen to someone's order, and if you get it wrong, and notice that it's wrong, fix it. lesson learned, try other boba places. read more

The guy I ordered with was extremely rude that I showed up with a big order, even though we were willing to wait 20 minutes for the order to be complete. Despite this, he continued to have a hostile and toxic attitude towards me and my friend for doing business with him. In total I spent about 50 bucks here, when I came back to get a receipt he got increasingly rude and seemed fed up at my reasonable request. For these issues I will not be coming back. I loved the bubble tea I got from here, it tasted great, and I loved the plastic sealed lid they put on my drink! Such a great idea. I should have known from the moment i walked in and saw a hipster at the counter that the Boba drink was likely not going to be an authentic one. It lacked flavor and tasted artificial and fake. Come here due to the close proximity to heroes and fantasies. I like their drinks, I just have to be in the mood for something sweet. The blue almond is my favorite. The owner( I think) and the other guy that works there usually are really cool. They are friendly and get our drinks out fast. HOWEVER, they hired this new girl, and TWICE she has forgotten to make a drink for my friend, but still charges for it, and instead of refusing to admit her mistake she says "well I write everything down." My friend was charged for two, but she totally only wrote down one drink! If you I on a day where there's a tournament at heroes and fantasies, be prepared for a LONG wait. A friend of mine shoved this smoothie drink at me one day and said, "try this." (I'll try anything my bff says is good), but as the cup and straw neared my face I caught sight of some big round balls bobbing around in the bottom of the drink. I hesitantly took a sip and up came a boba ball...the smoothe sweet taste of strawberrys, so creamy, danced on my tongue...and was immediately accompanied by a soft "boba ball," which I chewed quickly...(my eyes were like dinner plates! haha) The experience was so magical for me!!! I wanted more....I wanted to finish her drink off. "What in the world have I been missing!?" I thought to myself. I was hooked. I have been back every day since then. I now mix avocado in with any fruit...it's what gives the drink its dreamy, creamy, little kid at Christmas feeling to me. Ha! Ummm. If Bobalicous has a lower rating than Bubble Tea Express, then people in this city obviously don't know good tapioca drinks. Based on my one experience here, this place is the bomb. The flavors are interesting and yummy and the tapioca balls were impeccable (something I've had trouble finding in SA). The staff is super nice. They messed up my drink order but apologized right away and made me a new drink AND gave me the one they messed up. Score! Oh, and they have different milk options for your drink -- 2%, fat free, and soy. The downsides are that it takes them a LONG to make a drink, the area is shady (signs in the parking lot telling you to not leave valuables in sight in your car), and it's hella expensive. Yeah, the soy milk I added boosted up the price over $5, but I miss that good $4 and under tapioca from H-town. All in all, it's the most decent tapioca joint close to my place and I'll venture here if I don't feel like going all the way to Bubblehead. read more

ok. Boablicious is freaking amazing. I'm a long time fan of the place and am almost always there when I have free time. It's a great place to hang out with friends, play games, use your laptop, sleep, whatever you want to do. The interior could use a little work as far as being a super-chill-worthy place, but the owner and employees already know this. The two main employees (excludes the owner) are friends of mine because they are awesome people; they are also super helpful to anyone new to the shop and, contrary to what a previous crap review said, they WILL allow any combination you want. If you try to do something they know wont taste good, like bubblegum and cherry which tastes like Tylenol, they'll let you know, but if you want it, you'll get it. read more

I found that there is a huge regular population because this place has anime showings where you can hangout with friends while sipping on your drink and as well make new friends. I am disappointed with this place, I had a little high hope after seeing them on San Antonio Living. So my friend and I decided to give it a visit, we both were disappointed. Why you should believe me: I grew up in a majority Asian community/city here in LA. Tea/boba shops are like Starbucks, they are everywhere! You learn what is good and what is junk. Chewy, mainly soft, but could be a bit softer. They cooked it in sweetened water, so they got that part right. -Good customer Service The bad: - Ordered a green tea, no sugar, with boba. Although my order was correct, sadly (very sadly) the tea was extremely watered down. At first sip it immediately tasted like soap. I don't mean that maybe they got soap in it (possible, I suppose), but the flavor was bad. The ugly: - Dirty floor, tables, old couches, and overall hole in the wall place. A lot of space to sit, but it was so empty, I don't ever see them getting that much business to fill the space... - Dirty/stained/watery counter tops and machinery. Is that where you are going to prepare my drink? That I will ingest? Okay. Everything just looked old :\ Don't think they had a cash register with product info, my order was just written down on a pad of paper along with a mess of other writings. But maybe that's how they like to do it, who am I to judge, especially if they get my order right? Also, we used to have a Bobalicious nearby, which was high-end teas. They just borrowed the name. I really do love this place. I always go here with friends and family and everyone who works there makes you feel welcomed. The location isn't bad, it is also next to a comic book store and a book store so it's a plus if you want to stop by there! The art they have is cool and support local artist. They have different varieties of all kinds of flavor for bobateas and even have almond milk (some places don't have that). They also recently added a long table for customers who want to study and be on their laptops. Games are provided, some pieces of course are missing but majority of the games I really don't complain. The only downfall is that if you're in a hurry to get boba and it's packed, most likely you're going to be waiting there FOREVER. love this place and the San Antonian (strawberries and avocado). the old location was horrible since they had literally 4 parking spots in front and you would have to park in the shopping center. so i was glad when they relocated right next to nine lives books. They have a variety of ingredients so you can make your own specialized drink or just order from their dry erase board of good and true combos. the owner is really nice and helpful the place is pretty spacious and i love the fact you can play board games albeit some pieces of the chess board are missing. read more

Tried the regular milk tea and it was the worst I've had, It was basically just milk and sugar. The skinny cowboy was pretty good but way too sweet. This place is more expensive than other boba places and the guy didn't ask what size we wanted, he just gave us different sizes.
