Great food, friendly staff, and the best bingsu around! No boba, but heard the bobas coming soon

PROS: Came here twice and both times there was plenty of free parking in the structure and no line/ little to no wait for Boba Bing. Midtown Eats overall seems a bit empty (which is kinda sad looking for the vendors) but hey I'm not complaining about no crowds and no wait to get my food! The first time we came here, we ordered the fish pastries and the second time we got the strawberry bingsu. Both were really tasty and unique! The bingsu is huge and meant to share. They're slightly cheaper than Jejubing at Ala Moana and the place doesn't smell weird like Jejubing. The bingsu also comes with ice cream, fresh strawberry and mochi bits on top and strawberry jam smeared on the bottom. The bingsu overall tasted pretty good with the highlight being the jam at the bottom. CONS: The little fish pastries (kinda like taiyaki, but more flaky like a croissant) are reheated. They taste quite good and the staff reheats it for you when you order, but it's not made to order like Taiyaki. We really liked the kimchi flavor and the other unconventional flavors, but we all agreed that they weren't really worth the price. OVERALL: We had a generally good experience coming to Boba Bing. It hasn't been crowded or busy which made the place feel more chilll. Both the pastries and bingsu are great options, but I think I'd come back for the bingsu since it was a little more worth its price. read more

A liiiiittle on the pricey side but better when you order the Bingsu with the "add on" pricing. Total was about $25 + tip. But definitely recommend it! Savory, sweet, hot, cold... perfect balance on the tastebuds and mouthfeel. You can opt for the taiyaki to be heated too which gives them a good crunch! The regular Bingsu was perfect for 3 people, the LARGE is on a whole different level! Had to try the bingsu at Midtown Eats. Boba Bung has other delicious looking desserts that I would try another time as well. But I ordered the regular mango bingsu as the large looks super large. They gave me a beeper to come back when it was ready. It does take a little while for them to make it. But there's lots of seating around to wait. The ice is creamier than other places I've tried. It also comes with mango ice cream on top. There's different textures with the mango pieces, a little bit of mochi, and like a gel mango at the bottom. I thought it was good. I would go back to try some of their other options as well. read more

Saw some post about this place on IG and I love bingsu so I wanted to try it out. It's located in Midtown Eats food hall at The Park on Keeaumoku. Strawberry bingsu: This comes in two sizes, regular and large. I got the regular and it was enough for 2 people to share. The ice was finely shaved and the texture was snow-like. However it didn't have any creamy or milky flavor to it. The strawberries were pretty sour. It was not sweet at all. The mochi was pretty hard like candy. It seems like they freeze the mochi and thawed it out. The strawberry jam, was alright. It helps add some sweetness to the bingsu. The strawberry ice cream was the only thing that was enjoyable. The texture of the ice cream was on the stickier side. Our bingsu also didn't have any condensed milk on it even though the menu description has it. I think the staff forgot to include it. Overall, for bingsu, I personally didn't enjoy it. I do appreciate the size and the amount of toppings on it but the taste was a miss. The bingsu also took 20 minutes to make and we were the only customers at the time. read more

Ordered the Mango Bingsu ( large ) for takeaway. I like mango but it's not one of ny favorite fruits. It was good but I very much prefer the strawberry. it's an extra $4 for the takeout bag and a bag of ice. Served in separate containers: you have fresh mango, mochi balls, mango sauce, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Good and refreshing...the milk ice is subtle in its sweetness. read more

Delicious bingsu and taiyaki! We stopped by after lunch for a quick dessert, and it was the perfect sweet treat. One of the best things about this spot is the convenient free parking in the building. Boba Bing is located inside the new food court, which was very clean and had plenty of seating available. We ordered the mango bingsu and the custard taiyaki. Both were delicious, and our bingsu was ready in about 5-10 minutes. The taiyaki just needed to be warmed up, and the custard filling was the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again. I'm hoping they'll add more bingsu flavors in the future! read more

Boba Bing is located inside Midtown Eats on Keeaumoku. Free parking--no validated needed--on site. Clean restrooms available. My boyfriend and I shared a smaller sized mango bingsu. We loved the mochi, mango pieces and mango ice cream. The shave ice was delicate and lightly sweetened. Compared to other bingsu spots, this business provides a dessert that is lighter and not overwhelmingly sweet. $12.95 for the smaller size, $16.95 for the larger one. Perfect to share! Ambiance was amazing with live music at night. Everything is new, clean and aesthetic. Service at boba bing was friendly enough. They were open as late as 7:47PM on a weekday! read more

It's finally here... Though it's just the bing and not quite yet for the boba unfortunately and understanding it's their soft opening and decided to start to showcase their Onowaffle which is a fish shaped waffle toasted with various filling (sweet or savory) as we decided to get both Spam with Spicy Garlic Crust and Vanilla Custard. Packed in a really cute box which I think is great if you're taking them on the go it won't get smashed or spill in your tote but was a bit disappointed that it wasn't hot or crispy especially at $6 each or we got the four pack deal at $20 is a generous price for a snack but knowing that just about everything is house made is unique specially the spicy garlic crust on the spam Onowaffle is definitely there and was tasty the vanilla custard was a disappointment even with the strawberry jam. The staff on the other hand was nice and friendly as we ask for recommendations and being that they're in the newest Midtown Eats is a wonderful vibe with lots of seating kept us cool from the weather is always a great place to enjoy. Snack in Honolulu, Hawaii... It takes about 6 minutes for a "waffie" to be ready for pickup. A waffie is like a taiyaki... a fish-shaped pastry filled with different things such as custard, sweet potato, and kimchi fried rice. Yesterday, I saw a social media influencer setting up his camera. I knew that it was a Soft Opening and that only waffies - 4 different flavors are available. There's no boba tea yet. The employee said that they will introduce bingsu as their next menu item, then add boba tea. I'm looking forward to getting a bingsu and boba tea! read more

The Bingsu was great - everything tasted fresh! I loved how fluffy it stayed even after being scooped on the spoon. The homemade strawberry sauce was delicious. The mochi was probably my favorite part. We went to the hall at a great time, no long lines & lots of tables so it was slow. It did take a bit for someone to help me order, I was going to try the order ahead kiosks but their menu wasn't available. It took about 10 minutes for the order to be ready. The food hall is pretty loud when sitting near the bar area, that's because of the TV's and not because of the amount of people as it was pretty slow when we were there. read more

I have passed by numerous times when visiting the food court. It always looked interesting so I decided, maybe it's time to try the onowaffies. $6 for 1 is pretty pricey. But they have 4 for $20 and theres 4 flavors to try, so why not. I'm not sure if they switch up the flavors or not, but they had vanilla custard, sweet potato w macadamia nut, spam w spicy garlic crunch, and kimchi fried rice. Overall, I'm not a big fan. There is a bit of a wait for them to "heat up" your onowaffie. The outside crust was good, but I wasn't blown away with the filling. For the 2 savory ones, they didn't have a lot of flavor. The 2 dessert ones were pretty good, but it didn't really stand out to me. I'm hoping to come back around for the other items they're supposed to have on their menu. read more

So this is a little interesting, and it totally caught me by surprise There's somebody that's cooking next to a trashcan and the tongs she puts into the rubbish can then goes back to cooking. On the left side of the counter by the register. Another employee is eating scraps while she cooks or does whatever she is doing. Occasionally picking it off the tongs with his fingers. I am in awe. Then later an employee came (to work?) and then went over the counter - like sat in the counter near the register and flipped his legs over. 505pm The fish shaped waffles with stuffing are amazing. Tasty but little pricey snack. Batter is good and sweetness helps with the saltier fillings. Right now they only have 4 filling choices. Each one is $6 or 4/$20. Kimchee fried rice - all i can say is interesting. Honestly couldn't really tell what it was Spam with spicy garlic crust - i was surprised by this one. It's a solid spam slice that works with the waffle batter. Couldn't taste the garlic crust Sweet potato with macadamia - did not find many nuts but the potato filling was good Vanilla custard - lots of custard. This was probably the cutest spot in the entire food court. As soon as I walked in, it caught my attention. The setup is adorable, and if you love desserts and sweet treats, you'll probably end up stopping here too. We tried a few different items, including the fish-shaped waffles (taiyaki). We were most curious about the Spam and Nutella flavors, and both were surprisingly good. Finished eating dinner and went to order desserts. Walked up to the counter and saw a sign saying CLOSED. OPEN DAILY 11am-8pm. It was only 7:43pm. Asked the employee if they were really closed. She said Yeah with sour tone. Definitely will not support a company that whose employees act like servicing their customers is a task. They don't want to do. I come here about 3-4 times a month. Those custard fishies are fire and the bingsu is one of the best on the island. Grest customer service from all the workers. Staff is friendly and always smiling. read more

Had the onowaffle with sweet potato and mac nuts and a small bottled water. At $9 ($6 for the onowaffle and $3 for the water), it was a little pricey. But the waffle was tasty. It's similar to taiyaki, a Japanese fish-shaped pastry with sweet or savory filling. Payment, like other places at Midtown Eats, is by credit card (cash not accepted). We ordered the fish pastry with the Okinawa sweet potato, honey, and Macnuts. I really liked the pastry itself, and the filling was really nice (not too sweet). Although, the pastry was very good, it is important to mention that it was $6 a bit on the pricy side. The real star of the show was the strawberry bingsu though! I really loved the shave ice it was very soft and slightly creamy. The only drawback is that there was a little bit of a wait. Overall, really excited for this new spot!
