If you like Perkins, the food here is very good. I'd definitely come back (especially for the turkey sausage which were the stand out here).

The brunch drinks are decent, and I usually come here for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday. This location sits on Chocolate Avenue, and the easiest approach is to park in the garage behind the building and walk across. You'll enter through what feels like the back door, but it's the easiest way in. There is other parking nearby, but the garage is what I recommend. Pricing is appropriate for the market, but expect to pay quite a bit more than you would at a conventional breakfast spot like IHOP or Denny's. Service is generally good. I've never had a great experience or a terrible one here, and that's the point of a chain working to hold the same standard across its locations. Service is more consistent than at many neighborhood mom-and-pop places, and the restaurant is consistently clean. Like other First Watch locations, this one can be loud. It gets very busy at peak times and on brunch holidays like Mother's Day, and large family groups are common, so factor in your noise tolerance for the morning. You can join the waitlist through the First Watch app, and they'll text you when your table is ready. That's handy on Chocolate Avenue, because you can walk around the area while you wait. Just don't stray too far. Nothing on the menu is unique, and nothing is likely to knock your socks off on a second or third visit. What First Watch does have is dependable standards. When I'm in the mood for lemon ricotta pancakes or their Million Dollar Bacon, this is where I go, because I know exactly what I'm getting. It's a solid four stars. If you're in the mood for something on their menu, it's the right place to get it.

My problem is that when I arrived home, and unpacked my boxes, I realized that a part of my order was never brought to the table. If your servers cannot take care and of the customers, the battle for patrons has been lost. I was wondering why a breakfast/lunch spot was so empty on a weekend,...now I know. We were extremely disappointed. The burgers came out overdone and very greasy, almost like frozen patties. It wasn't juicy but still greasy and honestly rubbery. The fries were soft and very oily. The pop was flat and sweeter than normal. We didn't try the ice cream as we were already beginning to feel sick from all of the grease. The atmosphere was decent, retro vibes. The AC was broken with no signs indicating that. We were sweating. Like said, the server was kind. Overall, just meh.

Whipped ricotta 10/10 Yummy ricotta, the basil pistou and olive oil added a really good additional flavor. The fritta toast was buttery and toasted perfectly. Really good and refreshing appetizer! Burrata Caprese 9/10 Burrata and tomatoes were super fresh. I really wish the tomatoes eye cut up smaller to be able to get them in more bites; they were pretty big. The "baby greens" had both chopped up romaine and a spring mix. Again, smaller pieces would have been good. Or even just an arugula and spinach mixture. The romaine wasn't my favorite to pair with this. Alsatian Flatbread 7/10 Bacon was super crispy. Caramelized onions were cooked great. I thought the goat cheese was going to be the main cheese of this, but it was really like mozzarella with goat cheese sprinkled on top. The flavor of this as a whole was mostly caramelized onion flavor. I think I would have preferred a different flatbread. At breakfast, if you are famished, you can choose a buffet that will cure you of your affliction- all sorts of things you would normally expect- scrambled eggs, meat and toast and granola and cereal- you get the picture. You can also ask your server for a specialty omelette of your choosing or eggs made a certain way. Or choose to eat from a breakfast lunch or dinner menu. We ate in the morning twice and in the evening twice as well and always loved our meals. The buffet for kids is about $20 and for adults about $10 more.
