We asked to move to the front but the hostess needed the manager to make the change. The front room was better. The waitress was very sweet. We ordered eggs, pancakes, turkey sausage....the usual breakfast fare. The food took a very long time to be served. Too long. But....the food was really good and hot. I wish I could give a zero. This is the 2nd time we left without eating. 1st time took forever to seat us and we had to be somewhere. This time seating was little slow but there were others in front of us. Only 2 wait staff and we waited a bit to order. After we ordered other tables who arrived after us got their food 1st. Haven't been here in a long time so appropriate to update a review! Perkins is still enforcing COVID-19 regulations! The food quality is very good and they are hiring! A little shorthanded right now puts an added & understandable strain on good servers cooks and other personnel. Big Country Pork sausage, Applewood smoked bacon, smoked ham, American cheese and cream gravy with two eggs* served over crispy smashed tots. My eggs were over Med. The better Half built a breakfast with 2 Eggs over Med. 2slices of Crispy Applewood Bacon Breakfast Potatoes and a couple of Biscuits! She also ordered a Muffin! On the side! Portions are large so be hungry Like I said the quality of the food is always good at Perkins and they are still rebounding as we all are from the Pandemic but they are doing it well! Slow to be seated, with restaurant mostly empty. Got over that though. Then a waitress didn't come to our table for 10 minutes. We ordered food with our drinks in order to further minimize more wait time. As we waited and waited and waited for our food we watched others come in, order, and receive food. After 50 minutes of no food, we asked for the kitchen to make it to go. The waitress apologized and we received 50% off our meal. Once in the car we realized we were missing some side items (fruit) and the Benedict eggs were fried. I'm pretty sure they didn't know how to poach an egg as the waitress mentioned halfway thru our wait that it takes longer to poach. Quick Summary: when it finally arrived, the food was good. Stopped in on Saturday morning at around 10:00. Had a ten-ish minute wait for a table (they were not seating the entire dining room). Was seated and greeted by our waitress who took our drink orders. Coffee and water were brought quickly (the individual coffee carafes is a nice touch). We put our order in and we waited.. and waited... saw two table seated after us receive their food.. waited some more.. And then our food finally arrived! I told my waitress and the manager came right over and offered to put it back on the grill but at this point I couldn't have eaten it. We got some desserts which were pretty good. But my husband went in to place the order and there was a long line. The problem wasn't the line but it was that my husband waited in that line and when he got up to one of the two registers the one he was getting checked out at stopped working. The cashier looked at him and said you might want to get back in line. Since now he was going to have to wait to be help at the other cashier. Again there was one line for two cashiers, once you were at the front you would go to which ever register was next. So he waited in the only line there was and when their register stopped working they made him get back in line again! That was honestly so rude and disrespectful of them. Of course my poor husband just listened and had to wait again. So unprofessional, especially for a place that then asks for a tip on the check out screen. Took him 20 minutes to get two slices of cake. So sad. Just for that type of service we won't be visiting this restaurant again. We came in around about 6 pm for 8 of us. The sun was still out and we waited a few minutes for our table which wasn't such a big deal. We got sat and our waiter took atleast 20 mins to get to our table. Drinks also took about 20 mins which it was dark by then and it was almost an hr we were here that we ordered our food. It took 45-1 hr for the first batch of food. then it took atleast 20 mins for us to get the rest of the food. By the time of the rest of the food came, the first group that got their food was done. We were all unhappy with the way the food came due to the fact that they weren't busy at all. I do not recommend coming here with a big party. read more

Food is consistent and almost always very good. Two areas of improvement would be regulating the temperature of the environment and decreasing the wait time between ordering and receiving the food. Wait, how have I missed this place? I looked up biscuits and gravy and found this place on Yelp. I had seen signs for Perkins all over the place but assumed it was just another ho-hum chain. However, this restaurant hit the spot. I got a massive plate of food for ten bucks - sausage biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs (that were a little underdone for my taste), bacon, and breakfast potatoes. I had avoided Perkins for years due to the smoking option policy (now removed). I ordered the Eggs Benedict with avocado and it was very good. The reason for the 3 stars is the fact the cook staff apparently does not wear hair nets. Yes, there was a hair that was on the bottom my meal. The server as well as host and waitress were all very professional. All meals this visit were at least 4 star. Disappointing that it almost was a restaurant I could recommend. Cleanliness is number one with me. Lack of discipline is also necessary. No excuse to pile food on a plate that is dirty or "hairy". read more

My husband used to go to Perkins all the time back in college in Cincinnati. He wanted to see if Perkins was as good in the daytime for 30+ year olds as it was at 3am after a night of twenty-something, booze-filled fun. Service was good. The waitresses were really friendly. The food took a little longer than expected to come out but it was worth the wait. The food was soooo yummy! I thought I wanted desert. Then breakfast for dinner sounded like the best idea ever. I got the Belgian waffle combo with sausage and hard poached eggs. The waffle with syrup and butter was perfect for desert in my opinion. The eggs were poached just how I like them and I got to try their chicken and apple sausage! For lunch we all inhaled beer and food from Troeg's... so some healthy options seemed like a good idea...err... until I drenched my waffle in syrup. Oh well... I'm on vacation. I wanted to point out that our waitress, Mary, was exceptionally attentive and very nice. She made sure that we were okay and brought over carafes of coffee without us knowing. My wife and I have gone to Perkins a number of times over the years and really have never been disappointed by the food or service. Some of the patrons may be a pain in the as#: too loud, on their phones, language, and of course those carpet munchers who some are well-behaved and some act like they just out of a cage. The food is always top-notch as we normally go during breakfast or lunch. The place is clean, the people employed appear to be in a good mood, no just with customers, but each other and the manager of the shift. The waitresses/waiters do not stop every 90 seconds to see if everything is ok. And for me, that is a big plus. Depending on the time of day, Perkins can be light in customers, but that normally does not last long. And there has been a couple of times when people where waiting to be seated. I pray this is the right location. This review is for the Perkins Restaurant across the street from The Radisson Hotel. This place was actually the best food we had there in Harrisburg PA for the two days we were visiting. Some of my family had a late night meal here Saturday night, and like it so much, we ended up ordering breakfast here, instead of paying for breakfast at the Radisson Hotel on Sunday morning. Our waitresses were very kind, and accommodating. We had two waitresses because one was showing the other the ropes. Very friendly staff here both days, and the food was delicious. I wasn't able to take a picture of the the nine different meals we had from here, but you get some kind of idea from the pictures just how nice it was. So I definitely recommend if your visiting in the area, to check this place out. read more

I love this chain, but unfortunately in Maryland where we live they don't have a single restaurant, so on a trip to Hershey we gladly stopped here for lunch, and what a great experience it was! The food was VERY yummy, the service was good too and the prices are very reasonable. Plus the cleanliness was impeccable. Ordered: a) Build A Breakfast with the choice of eggs, hash brown, bacon and cranberry/orange muffin (OH boy, I can't get this muffin out of my had now so good it was! And I'm even not a fan of muffins at all). b) Fried pickles (which were good, but not the best we've ever had) c) a piece of my favorite Wildberry pie (it was so good that at check out we ordered 2 more pieces and 1 more muffin to go). Hadn't been here in a while because of COVID. Went about a week ago, got the BBQ Tangler burger. Burger was awesome, toppings were great. Tater tots were cooked just right. My second drink refill had something red on the "glass" that got on my fingers. Had no smell to it, wasn't ketchup, wasn't jelly, looked like blood. Went to wash my hands and then paid and left. Went back this week, tried a different entree. My second drink refill was in a glass so dirty it was disgusting. Greasy/dirty fingerprints all over the outside. Looked like it had been on the floor under the counter for the last month. They found it and decided to use it, as is. Nice grease slick floating on top of my soda. Paid and left. This used to be a pretty good place to eat, seems Mgmt has let it go down hill in a hurry. If the glasses are that dirty, what else is? Unless you're up to date on all your shots, I'd go elsewhere. read more

So as far as a Perkins goes, this one is fine. The service and staff are decent and the place is clean enough. If you want to go to a Perkins, I had no problems with the place. My problem is with Perkins in general. The company has been headed downhill for the past decade or more in all the places I've lived. One we used to go to in FL was closed right out from under us as an "underperforming location" even though it was always fairly busy. Then over the past several years, the food quality has slowly dropped off. For example, pancakes used to be top notch, but they got progressively and noticeably smaller and blander. Granny's Omelet got less substantial. Smaller muffins and fewer flavor choices. Then COVID hits, and the trifecta of higher prices, smaller menu, and, worst of all, smaller portions, is the last straw. It's just not a good value anymore to pay for what you're getting from them at this point. There are local places now where my money goes further and they deserve it to stay open. I empathize that it's harder for all restaurant establishments these days, but not putting out a good value for your customers just won't cut it no matter how hard the times are, and I don't feel Perkins does that anymore. If you want to go to a Perkins, this one is fine. But in my opinion, Perkins in general isn't a place worth going, and I won't be at this point. read more

"Family restaurants" aren't my thing. Getting up for breakfast, in fact, is not my thing. But Perkins is the exception to my rule. Their breakfasts are not only well-executed and delicious, you will not walk away hungry. Their country sausage biscuit platter with cream gravy is memorable. Huge omelets with plenty of options. Entrees are only slightly less special. And you know what? If I'm going to Perkins, it's probably not for a dinner entree anyway. But I did have a chipotle burger, and it wasn't bad at all. And of course, if you have room, it's a bakery too. And the desserts are just unbelievable. I had their fudge brownie supreme, and it surpassed any hot-fudge sundae I've ever had. The hot fudge soaks into the brownie, which is beneath a healthy scoop of vamilla. By the time you get to the brownie, the hot fudge has it softened, and, well ... you don't get much better than that. read more

Had it with hash browns (perfectly crispy) and fruit (very fresh). The combo of thin eggs, spinach, sun dried tomato, feta, and hollandaise sauce was amazing. I walked in during dinner and ordered take out. The restaurant was semi-filled, but did not seem too busy. 25 minutes later my sandwich was ready. The hostess was friendly and chatted with me while I waited, but I thought it was a little long of a wait for a sandwich. The sandwich itself was drenched in butter, there was actually a pool of it in the box and the bun was soaked. Now, if I was Paula Dean I'd be having a butter-gasm, but unfortunately I'm trying to keep my arteries semi-cleared, so the extra butter did not send me into orbit.
