What a nice suggestion I got from a neighbor who suggested I get a carry out turkey dinner from you for our Thanksgiving. The meal was absolutely delicious! There was a generous serving of turkey and ham slices and both were very tasty. In addition the mashed potatoes, dressing, corn and green beans and cranberry sauce were all very good. Finally,the 2 dinner rolls and the pumpkin pie with a side of whipped cream were the final items to complement this fantastic meal. We will definitely order this again. read more

Went this am to a 1/2 full restaurant and quickly seated. Odd because mid morning on a Sunday places are usually jammed around here. No server showed up to even take drink order and after 10 minutes we left. Noted the very dirty blinds, grime on ceiling tiles, long time water damage all along crown molding. Parking lot is a crumbled disaster. It's a shame because years ago Bob evens used to be good. What a waste of time this morning. read more

Came here for their free Veterans Day breakfast. I was anticipating a bit of a wait but at 8am we were in and seated after about 5 minutes. When we left around 9am there were more people waiting to be seated. The Bob Evans Veterans Day Menu was the same as the previous year so I already had a good idea what I wanted to order. I decided on dinner for breakfast and ordered the Country Fried Steak. They didn't have Mashed Potatoes because it was breakfast so I got Hash Browns as a substitute. It also came with two Biscuits. My wife ordered one of her previous dishes that combined Scrambled Egg Whites, two Turkey Sausages, two Small Whole Grain Pancakes, and a Small Fruit Bowl. Because it was getting crowded it took about fifteen minutes for our order to come out but not unacceptably long. Bob Evans is not an upscale steakhouse but what they do is comfort food and they do it very well! Everything was delicious and not overly seasoned but I added some fresh ground pepper (each table has a small pepper grinder) because that's just me! This location was very clean including the restrooms. The people were friendly and our server, Angela, was excellent! She kept the coffee cups filled and checked on us just the right amount. So if you like your coffee kept full along with friendly and professional service, you might request Angela! read more

I don't recommend go to this Bob Evans when I came here, olivia was our sever she came to our table couple time. The times she came to our table was to get our drink order, food order and bring our drinks , bring us our food. That's it, she was more worried about talking to the boys in the back and walking around talking to the staff than to come and see if we needed anything. The worst part is that the first 10 mins of us being there, we were the only ones there, then more people showed up and it took 30 mins to get our food. we had only 3 people. we even heard them call our food, And she was still too worried about talking to the boys. And we also saw the cooks in the back touching food with out gloves. we also seen a cook eatting well touching food. Im okay with cooks eating but not touch food people are going to eat. the cooks were also on their phones well we were sitting waiting for our food. read more

This is the most lazy ridiculous restaurant!! Came to get breakfast they were so rude!! A 20-30 min wait for a table and only about 1/8 of their restaurant used!! Asked for a manager they just said oh we cant seat any more! That is crazy!! No wonder you have a 2.5 rate!! Higher more staff that can actually work! We made the same mistake again by thinking that this joint had improved, not so, lousy service, uneaten food on tables (from previous customers) dirty floors, I mean dirty carpet and black soot on ceiling. Food was not good at all. The manager was in a daze when we asked about a special that had been advertised on T. V., he guessed that they didn't participate so we ordered something else. I ordered fish and a baked potato, the server returned and said that they didn't have baked potato and suggested a loaded potato. when it came it was a gob of instant potato from a box with a little cheese and fake bacon bits, tasted bad. Bob Evans in Howell, MI IS TERRIBLE. First of all, the waitress said that something was not on the menu when it was, her boss straightened it out. I ordered eggs and bacon with biscuits and gravy. I got overcooked bacon very hard eggs mashed potatoes and gravy. You heard right. So the service was terrible, the waitress did not know what she was doing, and the cook overcooked all the food. Then she would not give us our bill. I walked up to the main counter and the manager was there and he asked us how everything went. My husband said OK. I looked at my husband and said out loud, why don't you tell him the truth, it was terrible. The manager said to me, what do you mean and I said to him Bob Evans is not the same and I walked out. It used to be a really really good restaurant and we had not eaten it there in some years so we were shocked I challenge anybody out here to go into that restaurant and see what I'm talking about it was a Saturday when we went in which was a couple of days ago and it was empty it was just no business and I can see why. They are not the same the food is not cooked right the waitresses don't know what they're doing. I predict that 3 to 4 years from now, they will be out of business. read more

Didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The service was good, the food was good, and the overall experience was great. I had a half soup, half sandwich combo (came with complimentary bread--of my choice-- pumpkin) and my husband had a turkey club. It was so good! Everything was really good, food was fast, customer service awesome, price was super inexpensive. We will definitely be back! I will hold off on giving a 5 until I try their breakfast. We've tried to support restaurants during COVID-19 and recently starting ordering take out breakfast from this Bob Evans (just moved to the area). Both times we have ordered so far what we have received has been inconsistent with the Bob Evans we used to frequent. Last week my Farmers Breakfast had about half of the quantities of items it was suppose to and this week my wife orders biscuits and gravy that did not come with any biscuits and my hash browns were 1/2 to 2/3 less than what other Bob Evans had provided. Will be finding a different breakfast place here in the new town. Also just to add, this past weekend in Gaylord, MI I stopped at the Bob Evans and ordered the exact same meal and it was to expectation so this is probably a problem with this particular store. read more

We decided to stop at Bob Evans in Howell for a quick dinner last night. It wasn't busy. Our server, Ana, was friendly and efficient. We ordered the country fried steak dinner as it comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. I ordered the pecan cranberry salad. Both came with rolls, which was the highlight of the meal. My husband added a side salad to his country fried steak dinner. She brought our drinks and rolls. Then we waited for his salad. We could see the kitchen and our food was coming up. We asked Ana to come over and asked for his salad so he could eat it without his food getting cold. She said "oh, all of your food is up!" We asked why the salad didn't come and she said that dinner salads are served with the meal there, not before. We declined the salad. We could hear the manager I assume and the servers discussing our situation which was awkward by the way they went on and on. We even told Ana that even though we thought their service order was strange it wasn't her fault. Our meal came. His food was lukewarm, the country gravy almost congealed. My entree salad was a bowl of iceberg lettuce with chicken, cranberries and about a teaspoon of minced pecans. Not mixed greens as described and there was not any bacon as on the menu. After working in food service for many years I knew better then to say something a second time for fear of retaliation to our food if sent back. We ate it as is. I felt bad for Ana, she was very uncomfortable but did come and check in on us. I asked for another roll and she brought it without butter. We tipped her 6 dollars on a 29 dollar tab and went to pay. They did remove the salad from our bill. We asked the cashier if they always serve their salads with the meal and she sneared and said "I have no idea, I'm not a server!" She rang our ticket and it came up $17 and change. Odd, but I paid it. Wouldn't you think the manager would say something rather then just reduce our check? I appreciate not having to pay full price for crappy food but the atmosphere and management are sorely lacking. I suggest asking your patrons if they would like their salads before or with their meal since tradition in restaurants in our culture usually come before as an appetizer. Additional training and weeding out the rude and snide staff would help too. We were nothing but pleasant and respectful and yet we felt like we couldn't resolve our issues because of the attitude of the staff. After my son's 6-month doctor visit, my grandmother and I decided to stop here to have a bite to eat. When we first walked in the door, the wait staff were standing in a cluster, and all looked at us with a defeated and unenthusiastic expression, even though the restaurant was practically dead, and only 3 or 4 other tables seemed to be occupied. Despite the fact that I was carrying a car-seat, no-one offered me any kind of stand for it, so my grandmother asked for a high-chair to rest the car-seat on. (As a first-time and single mom, I haven't exactly been able to go out to eat at a sit-down restaurant with my son, save for 1 other time a few months ago, where they also gave me a high chair to rest my son's car seat in. I thought nothing of it.) We were seated by the hostess in a booth, where I pulled the high chair up against the edge of my seat so that it would be out of the way, and I could be right next to my son. A manager then came out and BENT DOWN to talk to me as if I were a child, and asked to move us to a table because he was afraid his wait-staff might knock over my child..... even though the restaurant was dead and the waitresses weren't exactly buzzing around. Anyway, I obliged, and we packed up our operation and settled at a nearby table, where a completely different manager approached me and also BENT DOWN to speak to me like a child. She told me that sitting my car-seat on a high-chair was incredibly unsafe and asked me to use a device they had specifically for car-seats, TO WHICH I AGREED OBVIOUSLY because I'm not a monster, and I want my son to be safe!!!! But no one offered me this damn contraption upon my entrance or let me know it was an option when we asked for the high-chair to sit his seat in, and after several encounters with THREE different staff members, this woman spoke to me in the most patronizing tone, like I was the idiot in this situation. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. I have never felt so patronized. This whole experience made me feel like I'm not allowed to eat in a restaurant with my baby, because I'll be made to feel like a bad mother when the employees are ill-prepared for children. My girlfriend and I just came from here. We got the waffles and pancakes, the waffles were cold, cut it up and took one bite. We were both disappointed. Snotty waitstaff and hostess are mean. We were over heard about how nasty it was by another server, and she told our server how we were unsatisfied. I ordered a bowl of chili off of the seasonal menu. What the waitress brought to the table was a glorified spaghetti sauce as it was thin and had 2 beans in the whole bowl. I called over the waitress to mention this to her and she calls over the manager who doesn't just admit to the fact that they may have messed up, but proceeds to tell me that the reason that there aren't any beans in my chili is because there is a bean shortage. Yes, a bean shortage. Then he told me that their "packages" (not homemade) of soup came in that way so all of the chili is like that. Note to BE...don't hire managers that insult your customers intelligence then follow it up with stating the fact that the food you serve is pre-prepared. Epic fail!!! read more

Went here after my sister's gymnastics meet, the food was cold when it came out, the rolls were over cooked, our waitress took over 20 minutes to check on our table, had to ask another waitress for ranch and refills on our drinks. I ordered breakfast here. Asked for lightly cooked hashbrowns. I told my waitress I didn't like my hashbrowns crispy. When meal arrived it was a drop and run. I could lift my hashbrowns up with fork all at once. When the waitress finally came back I told her about the hashbrowns and showed her. She said she would get the manager. I was there another half hour. Nobody came to, or came back to see me. I put sauce on the hashbrowns in hopes of softening them up. Instead turned them into a wet cardboard like substance. I was hungry so I reluctantly ate them. I had to cut them with my knife. I was asked by cashier if my meal was okay. I said no. She seemed unaffected by my response. She told me my total. My wife and I have been there three times in the last 6 months. We went there for breakfast yesterday, only to find its gotten worse! The food is mediocre at best, and the wait staff is the probably the worst we've ever had! They're mostly female "20 somethings" that are dumb as a box of rocks, and not trained very well. We ordered a side of biscuits as an appetizer, she brings them out on one plate, with no plates for either of us. When we asked for plates she had this puzzled look like she didn't understand why we needed them, and then comes back to the table with ONE plate! My wife ordered water with a couple lemon slices which was fine, until it came time for a refill (that we had to ask for), the waitress brings out another glass of water with no lemon slices in it...as if maybe my wife didn't want lemon slices in her refill(?). I was never even offered a refill on my coffee! When she took our order, we couldn't hardly hear or understand her due to her mumbling at low volume. I don't see how that Bob Evans is going to make it, unless they get a better wait staff that has at least more than one brain cell! Either way, that was their third strike...we WON'T ever go there again! There's a lot of good restaurants around...why deal with stupid waitresses?! read more
