Breakfast Specials on a Saturday. Prices didn't make sense. The "special" Western omelet cost more than the regular menu version.
    Rachel M.

Neither special nor convenient. Once seated, we could barely hear each other over fellow diners and the kitchen bustle. High ceilings and a wide open dining area make for some bad acoustics, but the acoustics weren't as bad as the wait for our food. Dad got the egg-and-pancake "special," which I put in quotation marks because the prices were anything but special AND did not make sense (e.g., one dish was listed as only 10 cents cheaper than the regular menu, and the Western omelet was more expensive on the specials board than the regular menu)! Mom and I ordered egg with grits, yet for some reason, it took close to 30 minutes to get our food. I prefer omelets that combine the eggs and add-ins, but at Bob & Edith's, your omelet is more of an egg quesadilla with egg folded over the add-ins. All in all, cannot recommend. If I'm dining out for breakfast/brunch, I want it to be quick (what you should be able to expect from an establishment that titles itself a diner) or serving something I can't make better at home.

No frills diner that is all over Northern Virginia. Good pricing and far and away better than an IHOP or Denny's. Look out for the specials on the wall as they sometimes have great deals! Food and service is always good here. Servers are attentive and quick to respond to inquiries or requests. Always love a good ole Bob and Edith's.

I heard great things about Bob and Edith's, so maybe I just came on an off night. I was disappointed with the service, and the food was okay. I stopped by for a late-night burger. Online ordering was smooth. Staff wasn't especially friendly when I arrived, but no big deal, I was just getting takeout. I ended up eating in my car, since I'd rather not be around unmasked diners during the pandemic. The burger was pretty plain and under seasoned for my taste, but the fries were quite good. And my iced tea was delicious. The weirdest part was when I finished. I went back inside to throw the container in the trash. But there was no visible trash bin. I asked an employee if there was somewhere to leave my takeout bag (literally from this restaurant, food I noted to them that I'd bought a few minutes earlier), and I was told no. It's not the biggest problem in the world to drive home with my takeout garbage, but it seemed strange. The whole experience was sort of meh. I wouldn't return to this location.

Gosh I love this place. It was my first time and I met a colleague for a late lunch. It is a cute small diner and was even busy at 2:00 pm on a Saturday. I had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The gravy was amazing. The coleslaw was really good too. My friend had the blueberry pancakes which looked amazing along with the hash browns. I drove 45 min to get there and would do it again. Gosh I love diners and especially this one.

This is a classic Bob and Edith diner just like the others here in northern VA. It does seem a little bit cleaner than the others but still has that diner feel. It's got a classic laminate menu with some specials pasted on the wall or their tv. We got the 2 eggs and country fried steak plus 2 eggs and bacon. Definitely enough food to make you feel good. Classic diner options with classic diner flavors. I wish their gravy was a little less salty and their potatoes had a bit more flavor but I'm not disappointed because it's what I was expecting. Overall if you have a hankering for classic easy no frills diner food, this place will scratch the itch but I probably wouldn't be coming here until that itch comes back.

First time at Bob & Edith's Diner and I was curious to see how it compared to the classics, such as IHOP & waffle house as well as the local silver diner. I was pleasantly surprised it tasted more like waffle house than IHOP. Obviously not as high end as the silver diner, but I clearly wasn't going for that vibe. I got the Breakfast Sampler, which includes 2 pancakes/hotcakes, 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, ham, sausage, and hash browns. If you're hungry and want a bit of everything on the menu, it's the go to for sure. All for $13.99. The pancakes were so delicious, I love how they were just a little crispy on the outside. My mouth is salivating as I type this out. The eggs were also easy and taste as expected. Not a huge ham girl, so I won't comment on that. Sausage was solid. Bacon on the crispy side as you can see in the picture, which I favor. The hash browns were the most disappointing out of the bunch, could've been cooked just a bit more. However, everything shown was demolished quickly and happily. Definitely will be eating here again, would be a perfect sunday scary meal.

Clean... antiseptically so. The food looks artificially perfect and tastes surprisingly homemade. In that, it's almost a "complete 180" from the diner that's less than a mile to the east. I ordered a Ham and Cheese Omelet with hash browns. That's always my first order at a new diner. The eggs, while not overloaded with ingredients, were tasty. The potatoes were crispy and reminded me of my grandmother's potato pancakes. (That is something nobody has been able to duplicate; don't get me started...) Service was prompt and not surprising since there were only five customers here on this Monday morning. The staff was very polite and that is refreshing in these days of stressed-out restaurant workers. The parking for this place is weird. There are 3 spaces in front, one for someone with handicapped tags, and six or seven in back. That is not nearly enough to accommodate the seating capacity of the dining room and is another contrast to the "other" diner. As it stands, when faced with a choice between the Two Diners, I'll pick this one. That is, assuming I can find a parking space.

Had an appointment at the hospital and was in serious need of comfort and familiarity... Tbh I NEVER dine alone, either my laptop or work or something accompanies me... I'm also from NJ so finding a good "diner" is impossible here... BUT I remembered this spot opened around the corner and hadn't been back since college ... talk about warm, welcoming, almost being anticipatory of people's needs !! My server Abigail was stupendous and she made me feel super at east (and I wasn't the only solo diner!) - will definitely be back- the space is VERY CLEAN and it's a much needed addition to the neighborhood!!!! Waffle was light and airy- Turkey sausage was tender- eggs were perfectly cooked- and hash browns were delish but I could have had them browned even more which I know they would have obliged if I asked- even my coffee snobby self was impressed with their brew !

Cyndy's Bottom Line: Another great diner! *Open Mon-Sun, 7am-10pm *Parking in front and back *Love this new location, sparkling clean & bright. *Dine in, take out & delivery service. **Counter service not available Stopped in for breakfast. This is what we ate: *Eggs & bacon with hash browns The hash browns are perfectly fried crispy on the outside. Eggs done perfect. Bacon fried nice and crispy. An excellent breakfast! *Friendly attentive service.

They had a cute outdoor seating space, however it was cold and rainy so we couldn't sit there. We had the fried green tomatoes, snd both got the salmon with two sides of your choice. I got Brussels sprouts and potatoes. She got Mac and cheese and salad. The salmon was perfectly cooked and potatoes were crispy and salty on the outside and creamy potato on the inside. Yum!! We sat there until they were sweeping around our feet and they were very nice about it even then. I rarely close down a place these days, so I was grateful they were accommodating.

Let me start with the good. Our waitress, Samika, greeted us…read morewith a smile and took great care of us. She was attentive, friendly, and kept things moving. The wait wasn't long, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. They also offer a Monday-Friday happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM, which is worth noting. Now that we've covered the positives... I came with my family, as we usually go out to eat on Sundays after church. I ordered the shrimp and grits, my sister had the dark‑meat chicken with fries, that unfortunately had to be switched when they brought her the wrong white meat, chicken and fries. My granddaughter got sausage and grits. There are no pictures of the food because I don't recommend you come here if you're looking for real southern food. I personally won't be back and won't waste storage space on disappointment. The shrimp and grits....the portion was so small, I thought they accidentally brought me the sample plate. It should honestly be listed under "Kids Menu". The menu says it comes with chorizo pork sausage, but instead of sliced pieces like normal restaurants, it was crumbled so tiny I thought it was seasoning dust. When I asked about it, they told me it's "put in very small so you don't know it's there." Well... congratulations. Mission accomplished. You get six shrimp, and they claim the dish is "spicy". Please, the spice level was somewhere between tap water and air. Then there was the chicken dish. I tasted it, and my sister will give you the full breakdown in her own review. The skin had a nice honey flavor, I'll give them that. But once you get past the skin, the chicken was out here playing hide‑and‑seek with the seasoning. Completely bland. The fries were fine, not great, not terrible, just fries. Now, the bathroom: I was unimpressed. When you walk in, there were paper towels on the floor and toilet paper in places it shouldn't be. The handicap stall does have a baby‑changing table and some extra paper towel and tissue supplies, which is helpful. However, the toilet seat covers in the handicap stall need to be replaced, even though the other stall had some available. Overall, the restroom did not feel well‑maintained. Great service can't make up for food and facilities that simply don't deliver. This was a disappointing visit, and I won't be back.

When we made the reservation in advance, we called to ask if happy hour was everywhere or just at the bar; they said everywhere, so we booked a table. Plot twist, it's only at the bar / downstairs :))) We arrived 15 minutes early, so while they got our table ready, we ordered at the bar. 5 stars for the bartender. If I could review her, the host, and the happy hour prices in isolation, I would! They moved us upstairs, we sat down, and immediately saw the menus were different. We asked the gentleman bringing waters about happy hour and he sent the waiter over. The waiter, with about 2% helpfulness, shared that happy hour is only downstairs. I mentioned that we had called in advance to ask. We asked if it would be possible to have that menu or perhaps move. The conversation felt like pulling teeth. He said, with much dismissiveness, it was up to the host downstairs to move and if they had availability and left. (Fair, we move, he doesn't get his tip. An alternative? Give us the happy hour menu, still get your tip. Better yet, just be slightly helpful?) The host downstairs found us a table but shared it was booked at 6:15 so we needed to be in and out. It was no problem because we had arrived before 5 (early, remember?). Although, it took 15 minutes (I timed it!) for anyone to come bring waters or address us as their table. A little hard to operate with urgency when no one takes your order!! I got up, told the host stand, and they sent a server over, and he proceeded to come back all of three times. We also had to flag him down to get our check, while we sat with empty waters that were never once refilled. We had pizza, cod sliders, and half orders of aglio e olio pasta. The cod sliders were more breadding than fish, but the flavor was decent. The pasta was delicious. No five star Italian meal, but it hit the spot and the portion was plentiful. I didn't try the pizza but it was 12 inches, piping hot, and the two eating it couldn't finish it. The food came out quickly and hot. I think we spent under or just about $100 for four folks to have dinner + drinks, so the prices are really solid. Perhaps you get what you pay for though? Both of our male servers seemed annoyed to be dealing with us and mostly unhelpful. Noteworthy mention: there was a female server who was kind enough to bring us a brown paper bag for our to go box. She was running around and her tables seemed well cared for. Disappointed in my experience and the customer service.

When we walked in, we thought it was gonna be packed because there were no reservations on OpenTable however they were able to see us right away. A very nice touch to add a stem of Rose for the women. I would say that I gave it a lower star rating not because the food was bad. It was actually delicious, but probably the experience itself. The restaurant felt chaotic, and even though all the tables were not completely packed of course there were flowers everywhere people gathering with grandmother's mother's children, etc We were seated in a two people table and all the top past dishes started to pile up very quickly. Instead of monitoring, the progress of the finished dishes and removing those dishes due to space constraint, the dishes came from the kitchen, almost on top of one another, and at one point I had to hold a dish in my hand in order to make space to put a dish on top of another flatbread pan/dish, making things super chaotic. Also dishes had to be put on top of the menu because in order to order additional food, you need to leave at least one copy of the menu at the table. Overall, again the flavors and taste were good, though I might have had similar dishes from other places, and my partner commented that some of it is actually very close to the Capital One landing at DCA. I would just say that it was more due to the chaos and just the way that all the dishes piled up on top of us we felt like we were we had to eat super quickly so that we could stack dishes ourselves and create room at the table. Also, when serving the dishes were not kept level and basically was slide to the side of the dish, making presentation off
