I had been wanting to try Bo & Vine for awhile but when the hubs heard they had a special "May the Fourth" menu, it was him dragging me along. While he opted for all the special menu items for the day, I went with a regular menu item - the Willamette burger, as a lettuce wrap. While extra messy it was delicious! Really really good burgers and sandwiches. I waited too long to try this terrific Downtown Eugene hotspot. Many friends shared their opinions that this was a world class burger joint. I know it's a burger place.... but when you offer a vegan option, is it really that hard to have a separate fryer for the fries?! I guess I should be thanking you for saving me the calories and money! So the only vegan option here is the beyond burger on a gluten-free/sensitive bun. It is tough when you're with traditional eaters to find a place suitable for both. I asked about the fryer and got honestly, "the owner doesn't care." Well, not that I'm coming back (because I am not from here), I wouldn't recommend this place. I love the sign posted about loving trees over the use of napkins when animal consumption is far worse for the environment. And it is a bit pricey. Let me start by saying these are VERY big burgers. I ordered the Hawaiian burger and my husband ordered the O'Canada. We both really enjoyed our burgers; not your typical taste for a burger. Pretty nice combination of ingredients. We also ordered the maple bourbon fry pile. I didn't care for it, I didn't like the taste of the potato's or the extra salt but it was right up my husbands alley. We also ordered a raspberry milkshake; I really enjoyed it. I liked the creaminess of it and the berries. Very lovely decor and super clean restroom. Staff was very friendly and gave good recommendations. Really good milkshake and would like to come back and try their Vegan Burger. It took 44 minutes exactly to get one single milkshake. No food, just a milkshake. It was a busy Saturday night but it seems a little bit excessive. Also, they don't put cherries on there milkshakes which was a huge bummer. I went down to Eugene to spend some time with my family during the holidays and my sister was raving about Bo & Vine. There are so many new restaurants since I moved away so I was definitely excited to try something that I hadn't had before. She said that she loves the burgers but she loves the chicken sandwiches more, so I knew I had to get one. I ordered the simple chicken (fried) and added chipotle aioli for some spice. Came in just after noon on a Saturday, and plenty of seats were open. The service was really fast for our group of 7. The booth we were in had some smuchts on the seat that got onto my pants so they could clean a little better. You bus yourself after the meal. The soda machine has "Jones" soda offerings, which is fun because it's not the typical coke/pepsi. The flavor of these burgers was off the charts. Every burger was so incredibly tasty, there wasn't a bite left. They offer a wide variety of sauces and don't charge extra (no matter how many you get). The cherry habanero is a bit too sweet in my personal opinion, but the smoky Buffalo was a table favorite. This place was recommended by a friend. This Saturday we went to the restaurant, it was takeout only; a little disappointing since we are from out of town. The best part of our meal were the garlic Parmesan fries. A MUST!!! Once you eat through the top layer, you will be left with just plain fries so make sure you ask for the sauce. The staff was friendly and I liked the afternoon environment, most took it to go and it wasn't too busy and they played nice music.
