I recommend going with one of their signature bagel dishes or trying the BLT spicy. It looks yummy. I got the smoked salmon on plain bagel myself and it was DELICIOUS don't get me wrong but I think my mouth smells of leftover cheese, dill, and fish. Haha. I'm obsessed with Blunch, and my only complaint is that it's not open on Sundays to help me nurse hangovers! I'm a big fan of the bagel sandwiches (the Dani bagel--maple ham with dijon aioli, unreal) and the pressed sandwiches (the loaf is my go-to, I'm a sucker for meatloaf sandwiches). The chocolate chip cookies are dope as well, which surprised me since pastries seem to usually be afterthoughts at sandwich shops. The service is fantastic, Nikki and her staff are extremely friendly and often make time to chat with customers. She's a great neighbor as well--I live around the corner from here and our very active neighborhood association is pleased with their daily trash pick-up (apparently most restaurants in the neighborhood have it less frequently, which creates rodent issues). I asked if they did over easy eggs but they said they only do frittata style, which was surprisingly very tasty and not overcooked at all. Some fell out of the sandwich while I was eating, but they served it with long toothpicks to hold the sandwich together so I ate the fallen eggs with those. I ate in. The coffee was decent, they have both hot and iced coffee you serve yourself - "No Free Refills" you'll see written on the containers. The place has some high top stools around the window edge, enough to seat maybe 6 comfortably, which is enough because I'm sure most people don't eat in. From the outside, Blunch is a bit unassuming. It's in a teensy little corner spot on the corner of e Springfield. When you walk in, delicious smells hit you immediately. I have to be honest and say that I wasn't quite so jazzed when I saw the menu outside, but as soon as I walked inside, I instantly changed my mind. There's a ton of different options to build your own breakfast sammie or bagel-wich. And of course my fav, A variety of cheeses. I was super hungry so went with pretty much the first thing I saw, kept it simple and as I was ordering, the spicy aioli was suggested to add to my sammie. Let me tell you Yelps, this was some of the best damn sammie sauce you can imagine. Everything sounds simple in this spot, but there are in no way simple flavors. The eggs are pretty much perfection. They came out fluffy and light and spongy in a magical way. No idea how they get them to come out like that but this is not your standard breakfast sammie. I was nervous I might be let down because of Blunch's high Yelp reviews, but fortunately I was not! Dropped in for breakfast around 11 AM - although Blunch is pretty small (limited seating, maybe 10 -12 spots?) it seemed that a lot of people either took food to go or sat for a short enough time that finding a seat was easy. Blunch is simple and has great local charm - a good amount of wall space is taken up with Guy Fieri articles and pictures, who dined at Blunch some time ago and is part of its claim to fame. The staff were friendly and patient as I bumbled through the menu figuring out which add ons I wanted on my eggwich. My boyfriend and I both ordered eggwiches on the custom hard roll (which is thin but dense, both moreso than an English muffin), his with ham, roasted tomatoes, fried shallots and mine with pork sausage and fresh tomatoes - without hesitation we both ordered the spicy aioli, which I would recommend to everyone 100%. Next time we will try the maple aioli. Sandwiches were delicious, with the spicy aioli as the meals MVP. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the hard roll despite being unable to describe it with words..and we both thought our respective meats were flavorful and juicy. Definitely one of the top breakfast sandwiches I've had in Boston, but my only complaint is how hard the sandwich is to eat because it's loaded up with such a tall stalk of scrambled eggs. In reality this is not a huge problem so just grab a fork. Also, because I have the world's largest sweet tooth and I had seen great reviews for the sweets here, we split a crumb cake, which was to die for. What an adorable little place but don't be fooled by the size because they really know what they are doing when it comes to food. They have some great items to offer from sandwiches to salad. I went with their goat cheese, tomatoes, mixed baby greens, and walnuts added some chicken and it was delicious. So refreshing and a great portion as well. There is limited seating here some stools around the window and one table for 2. They do have a bench outside as well to sit on. The location has some unique décor and shows off their Guy Fieri autograph and visit which is super cool. Staff seemed nice and helpful even brought out your food to your seating. This was sublime. The best part was the sauces in the sandwiches which I wasn't at all expecting. Some really amazing tastes that I couldn't really use words to describe but I'm sure you will experience regardless of which sandwich you order. Here's my suggestions: 1) I wouldn't really expect to find seating inside if you go at any kind of peak hour. We went in the summertime and there's some nice grass across at the medical center that you could go use for a pseudo-picnic otherwise people were eating on steps or on the little bench outside the place. The inside was just too small and cramped to really fit the number of people who come to this place comfortably. 2) The cookie to me was not anywhere near as amazing as everyone here seems to suggest. To me it was too thick and too jampacked with chocolate chips. If that sounds like the perfect cookie to you go for it but I'm more in love with Ben & Jerrys' style cookie so this one just didn't impress me. If you do get the cookie I would say get one and see if it's enough for two of you because we could have done with just one of these to share. 3) It's minor but, based on our one visit, the staff doesn't seem go out of their way to deliver good service. Not to say it was bad, they're just not too friendly so don't necessarily expect a ton of smiles here. 4) Based on what we had (a roast beef sandwich and an order of The Pig I think) you won't go wrong with whatever you order, just order to your tastes. 5) Skip the chips, you came here for the sandwich and it's quite filling. It is a pretty nice concern cafe, quite small with some seats. Closed at 3 PM, mostly for lunch sandwiches and bakeries. The chicken sandwich was delicious, they had their own special sauce. Went in around 10:30am on a Friday. Being near BU Medicine, the crowd tended to be younger in age. When I walked in, I was very pleasantly greeted by the lady behind the counter. She patiently took my order as I figured out what I wanted. Service was quick and the overall experience was very kind and calm. I ordered an eggwich with pork sausage, baby greens, and maple aioli. This came out nice and hot and tasted delicious. A great breakfast sandwich. I also snagged a Nutella-topped cookie, a chocolate chip cookie, and a sea salt brownie, all of which were fantastic as well. As some have mentioned, the seating is a little odd and cramped but I think that fits with the small nature of the place. If I'm ever visiting that section of the city again, I would be happy to stop in. read more

My roommate and I both got "The Beef" sandwich when we both tried this place out for the first time. His came a couple orders before mine since we went there with friends but i was carefully analyzing his reaction when he first took a bite of it. Was this hype well deserved? I went to school on the BU campus right next to this place so I would treat myself to the egg sandwiches once in a while. The sandwiches are great and the egg is fluffy and tasty. I believe they use a different method to make it. The sandwiches are usually well made and they sually don't skimp on the portions either. My only complaint will be from a very recent visit. I ordered a sandwich with various toppings and noticed that the portion size slightly decreased. The sandwich wasn't as stuffed as it usually is. As a resident at Boston Medical Center finding a good place to eat nearby outside of the hospital cafeteria is a life mission. This place is a hidden gem right across the street from BMC and when I can spare the time, I almost always come here. I absolutely LOVE the bird which is a moist chicken sandwich in a wonderful melt in your mouth sauce on crunchy toasted bread. Their chocolate chip cookie is delicious. So chocolaty and moist and ahhhh just delicious. Truly delicious. Just get it. Even if you think you don't want it now. You'll want it later. The only reason this place gets a 4 star is 1) super super small place. so unless you're grabbing to go, it's not a convenient place for lunch 2) they close at 3. Yum! First off, love the name. I'm pretty sure my college roommate and I coined the term Blunch years ago.... I got an eggwich with cheese, tomato, and greens on an everything bagel.
