Apparently, this is the place to be when you're in Temecula! I made reservations on OpenTable about 1 week prior, there so many openings and I thought this place wouldn't be crowded. Wrong! I think it's a local favorite so many people come as walk-in. Thankful for the reservation though because it secured a table, although after checking-in, my party & I did have to wait an additional 20-25 minutes, which was pushing it for me because we weren't late or anything. It was freezing cold outside, so at least we got to sit inside. I thought it was off to a bad start, but the service and food turned it around quickly! Once you place your order, they serve sour dough bread. When you're hungry, the bread taste like a thousand bucks. Fresh off the oven and soft butter was uhhhmazing. For appetizers, the order was clam chowder, half-dozen raw oysters, half-dozen scallops and fried calamari. The clam chowder was very good on a cold night. Warmed my soul. The sauce for the raw seafood was ponzu based rather than the typical lime and hot sauce, which complimented very well with the scallops. I enjoyed the scallops more than the oysters but both were great! The fried calamari is always a family favorite. Comes with two dipping sauces and they mixed some fried sweet potato fries with it too. I felt they could've offered more fried calamari on the plate, but not complaining - certainly must-order! For entrees: I ordered the Rainbow Trout and I had no regrets! It was the bang for the buck, as it was a long fish, served over a bed of scalloped potatoes and greens on the side. I love that they crisped the skin and seasoned/flavored with garlic, butter and all the goodness. I would certainly order again! My next favorite was the cioppino. It's one of my favorite items to order at a seafood restaurant, and my fave one remains the Water Grill in Costa Mesa, but this one beats it! I love that you can add pasta on the side for a more fulfilling meal. The abundance of seafood was great and I love that it had a good amount of soup base that wasn't salted heavily. Next was dessert! They offered complimentary ice cream for the birthday celebrant and I got to try some. They served on a stainless steel cup, so the coldness retains longer and wow, it just amplified the ice cream. It was a perfect creamy-cold texture! It was honestly the seal to the whole meal. I very much enjoyed my first dining experience at Bluewater Grill and I will certainly come back. Food: Calamari 4/5 - it was good. I didn't like the sauce that was paired with it, but it was lightly breaded. Grilled octopus 1/5 - chewy and lacked flavor. We each took a bite and that was it. New York Strip 4/5 - hubby enjoyed his steak, wiped the plate clean. He opted for scalloped potatoes as his side. Chimichurri Mahi 2/5 - fish was dry and lacked flavor. I assumed the veggie meadly was going to be a little more creamy (my mistake), it was an underwhelming dish. Drinks were good. And we bought the souvenir cup that came with the Mai tai. Overall: We came in for our wedding anniversary (as was listed on the reservation) - they initially had us sat at a table right next to the door that led to the patio, and it was a chilly night (and who really wants to sit when someone is opening and closing a door), so we asked for a booth and waited an additional 10 minutes. Not too big of a deal and not that we needed the recognition, but it's always nice when a restaurant/server goes a little above for a special occasion- otherwise, why bother asking when we make the reservation? There was no mention of happy anniversary or a celebratory dessert. We just moved to the area that weekend before, and it was our first time out at a "well rated" restaurant. Visiting Temecula for my anniversary with my husband, and newborn, and we were recommended this restaurant. We got there and entrance looked beautiful at night, even thought wait for our table was 45min long we decided to wait and the manager (Bri) actually did her best to make sure we were sat faster than that. We loved our servers service (Scottie) who made sure we knew everything on the menu and gave us recommendations. Bri had already said to try the Swordfish WE DID AND LOVED IT! Hubby got the Lobster LOVED IT! And the sourdough bread they give as a started LOVED IT! Overall great experience we appreciated the accommodations since I had a stroller had to breastfeed omg first time mommy, going out for dinner has been a bit difficult but I felt very comfortable here. Really enjoyed my visit here. The bartender was very attentive and made sure things were well cared for from the food to the drinks. The crab legs were perfectly cooked and the scalloped potatoes were full of flavor. The chowder was thick and not too runny; plus they didn't hold back on loading it up with clams. The spinach could have used a little more seasoning, but nothing bad enough to lose stars. When you enter you see the fresh fish in the fridge and a clean well kept atmosphere. I stayed until close and was impressed how they cleaned behind the bar, even removing and mopping underneath the rubber non-slip padding/rug they had on the floor. Great food and good service in the neighborhood in Temecula. We ordered fish and chips, half dozen oysters, miso fish and clam chowder. Everything was great from the fresh sour dough to the last bite of fries and coleslaw. just be a bit careful as they serve the food right out of the frier and can be scorching hot. I took a bite into my fish and chips holding the fish with my hand and the piping hot juice in the fish got all over my hand burning it a little. i quickly called over the server to ask for a bag of ice as it was a bit painful and she acted very fast for this request. Started off on an early Friday evening, just starting to get busy, with a cup of hald Mahattan Clam Chowder and half New England Clam Chowder, under the direction of our waitress. The New England Clam Chowder gives a nice softness to the spicy Manhattan. Hot, and warming to the soul! Sourdough bread was served as an appetizer, warm and with butter. MMMM MMMM! I had the Trout Almondine. It was lightly breaded with string beans and scalloped potatoes. Portions were large and I could barely finish the meal. Our server was very friendly. This was a decent dining experience in Temecula. It was recommended by our friends who are regulars, so we decided to try it and join them. Reservations can be made online and are highly recommended as it was quite busy on a Friday night. The interior has a definite nautical theme. It reminded me of the seafood restaurant from the Simpson's. I had a delicious Mai tai cocktail to start. Tasty and strong. There is a Yelp checkin offer, but our server said it only worked during certain hours and only at the bar. None of those restrictions were noted on the offer, though. Oh well. Our server was quite friendly and attentive overall. We had the calamari starter which was fair. It actually did not taste terribly fresh, and some of the pieces were quite rubbery. I had the salmon entree. This was better than the starter and was fairly tasty. For dessert we had the key lime pain. It had a pleasant taste and texture with a good crust, but it was a bit light on the lime flavor. Overall this was a fair to good dining experience. We might consider returning and giving it another try on our next trip to Temecula. read more

I'm super sad, I've been wanting to try this place and we went tonight, we sat outside for over twenty minutes and didn't even get any water. She brought us bread after maybe about 15 minutes and then after another ten went by we just left. We intended on getting two apps, I was going to have a Cesar salad, plus the two kids meals and mine and my bf's entrees not including the cocktail or two he planned on ordering, it was going to be a large bill, so we just left since we were already feeling neglected we didn't want to spend over 200 dollars when the table who sat down after us, already had water and had a server taking their order. It's disappointing since I didn't want to spend yesterday(Mother's Day) dealing with the crowd so today was the day he was taking me out to celebrate. It was our first time here and she gave us the lay of the land on the menu, what's good, how we could have our fish, all the details! Plus she was so dang nice! I really enjoyed my dish! I got the Gemelli pasta. There were a lot of options to choose from. My daughter didn't like her food though. She got the grilled cheese kids meal and they used sourdough bread, which is an odd choice for kids. I didn't like it either. That was my only complaint about the food. My friends seemed to like their food. One got linguine and the other got the trout. The service was great! I enjoyed the ambiance. The bathrooms were immaculate and smelled good. The staff is great the manager on duty that night was great and took care of us I have no complaints the way they treated us. 3 stars is only because of the food. Food- I ordered the surf and turf $95 ordered the steak medium rare got it medium well steak looked grey had no seasoning except the blue cheese butter they put on it. The lobster was rubber and way over cooked. (Manager took my meal off the check) Wife got king crab legs listed as market price (pretty normal) cost was $152 for 2 1/2 legs and I say 1/2 cause the third leg looked almost like a snow crab leg. The crab was over cooked it was dry and flaky did not pull nicely and have that buttery flavor. her potatoes were warm verging on cold Severely disappointed for that kind of money. Clam chowder was delicious, bread was hot and delicious, got a creme Brûlée it was delicious. Our drinks were made perfect I got an old fashioned and wife got a dirty martini. I Just think for $95 and $152 the chefs need to be more focused on the qualify they're sending out of the kitchen. It was a bit too salty and not as flavorful as I would like, but the scalloped potatoes were creamy delicious. Our server was friendly and accommodating for our large party. It was an extremely warm day to sit outside but there was enough and shaded areas. Unfortunately the misters for the outdoor patio were not turned off due to the live music playing. Finally got to take my son, who loves seafood here for a special meal. The restaurant itself is very nice. It's spacious, and even though they were fairly busy the service was good. They promptly brought bread and butter to the table, and we ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer, as well as clam chowder (which is a contender for best clam chowder we have ever had, maybe not #1 but for sure a close 2nd). To celebrate my birthday I decided on lunch at the Bluewater Grill in Temecula, having passed the restaurant on several occasions and seeing several vehicles in their parking lot each time I drove by. I had a serious desire for seafood, and I didn't want to drive or ride to San Diego to fulfill my desire. Having done my research I had my meal narrowed down to either the Lobster Roll or the Fish N Chips, which I would pair with a glass of wine or a craft beer. Upon arrival I was surprised at the size of the parking lot and how well maintained, with shrubs, trees, and smooth pavement. As we walked to the entrance from the car, I could help but notice that the establishment was much larger than I remembered during a brief visit many years ago, and I would guess the additional alfresco dining area with gas heaters and torches was the result of the COVID-19 era. Once inside we were greeted by the receptionist and could immediately smell the fresh seafood displayed at the onsite seafood market. To the right was the Bar Counter dining area, and to the left is the huge dining area with a nautical theme. Choosing one of the large booths, we were immediately greeted by Gwen, a charming, kind, professional lady with excellent customer service skills, and a warm disposition. She welcomed us, presented menus, and in a brief moment we had a carafe of water, glasses and some warm sourdough bread with butter. To begin our experience, we selected cocktails (50% off complements of Yelp "check-in"); a Mai Tai and a Moscow Mule as we perused the menu. The dining area consist of tables along the windows, booths in the center, and larger tables in the corners for groups. The atmosphere is nautical, tropical, calm, yet upbeat, and the amount of patrons that entered during our stay confirmed their popularity and approval. Their lobster roll is offered New England style (chilled) and hot butter, which I happily chose, with crispy fries as the side; the mrs selected the Pan Seared Scallops, and the crisp Sautéed Green Beans. When the food arrived everything was visually appealing, and perfectly prepared. The Scallops were seared to perfection and melted in your mouth. The Lobster Roll was nicely toasted, packed with warm buttery lobster flesh and with fresh lemon applied, I was extremely pleased. The meals paired with a glass of Central Coast Chardonnay, which further enhanced the experience. Blue Water Grill is an ideal place for a special or casual date; business lunch; romantic evening; small or large gathering; and even receptions, having a secluded party area outside. Love this place! I come for their clam chowder on a regular basis. It's the perfect mix of clams, potato's, and a thick broth. They obviously have great seafood as well. Oysters are always so fresh and delicious. Today I had the rainbow trout amandine and it was so balanced. A big portion of fish with green beans and delicious potatoes. Hope really took care of us tonight and made sure we had everything we need in a timely manner. She had recommendations for us when we weren't sure what to get. If you love seafood - this place makes it right. If you love Swordfish...OMG! Get it Bronzed with asparagus and another side of your choice! The fish is cooked to perfection...juicy and delicious with their bronze seasoning. Also love the Bloody Mary here - the fisherman's version is fantastic with a prawn. The theme is also great with friendly staff. Always go home happy after eating here!! Update - still love it here, but the recent change in the Bloody Mary has me sad. We have driven past Bluewater for years (partially due to pregnancy and not wanting to ruin it due to smells) and finally got the chance to go. Everyone we talk to either says this places is dope or they want to go. We sat outside around 7:30pm it was a beautiful night and made the ambiance that much better. Our server, Yari... she is one of the best servers I have ever had. When I asked about certain items she was very descriptive and honest about preferences. Just her working there will make me go again. Customer service is huge. She was present when needed. How the main event. The calamari was fire. The grits were too much. Meaning, that asparagus and chive oil on it was what did it. Personal preference, I would have used about half that sauce and it would have been solid. I'm a grits purist. lol The blackened Mahi Mahi was also good. The cedar plank salon was quote "a typical salmon." For what we paid, it was priced very well for what we received.
