CC's on Central is located in uptown Phoenix and has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the Valley for the warm environment, great service and even better food (visit on the last Sunday of the month for a 'Sunday service' style meal!). You can find all of your Southern favorites from shrimp & grits to hot-link po'boys - CC's doesn't miss. The collard green salad is a surprising highlight and one of my favorite things offered on the menu. You can even find Chef Devan featuring his famous Dankenstein wings on occasion. read more

I was excited to try this place. Went for breakfast with a couple of friends. When my food arrived the temperature was kind of...off. Not quite hot but not cold. Within 2 hours of returning home I was balled on the floor with horrible food poisoning. I really wanted to like this place and support but I don't see going back ever again read more

I had such high hopes for the place. Our server was really nice it was about 7 customers when we showed up but needless to say the service was terrible. She took our order the food came about 45 minutes later one at a time never refilled our drinks we had to ask forgot all about my wife's food we had to ask where is it. OK the food I ordered 4pc chicken with Yams and potato salad. The chicken was good and juicy but the Yams had so much oil in it I could actually poor it out. The potato salad was alright, My wife had the cat fish which was EXTREMELY SALTY the Mac and cheese which was dry and the greens that was really good. My son had chicken tenders and Mac and cheese he didn't eat all his tenders he said they was dry and this kid eats everything. With a few drinks the total was over $100 totally not worth the money. If you're going to spend good money on food it's way better places then this we definitely won't be back. read more

It was a Friday morning and pouring rain. I was in the area and decided to give this place a try. I walked in and was immediately greeted and helped. The gentleman taking my orders name was Jay I believe and he was very informative about the menu and helped me make a decision. The place has a Mardi gras home vibe, it's like being in your favorite neighbors house. The dankenstein wings were so juicy and flavorful and the chicken salad sandwich was satisfying as well. Keep doing well, I'll definitely be back with family. This is good food where you can taste the love ! read more

Ordered the catfish meal with 2 sides: mac and cheese and collard greens. Also ordered a coke. Waitress forgot the coke. Another employee brings out my meal. The catfish was EXTREMELY salty, the batter and fish. Asked the other employee for a coke as the original waitress never checks in on me. I told the employee the fish was TOO salty. She brought out a new plate of food. The second plate of fish was still TOO salty but not quite as INTENSE as the first plate. The employee walked by and asked how is the food. I said 'its better but still too salty'. She replied 'Yes, I tasted it and it was too salty, but they (cooks?) said they couldn't taste it. I don't know, it's whatever they soaked the fish in to prepare it.' Then she walked off. I tried but couldn't eat the fish. The sides were decent so I ate most of those. I was not offered a discount or to have the fish removed from my bill. The waitress finally came around with the bill and asked if I wanted a to-go plate after not checking in on the service the whole time I was there. No, I do not need a to go plate or stroke from the overly salted fish. Wish I could've had a more pleasant experience. read more

Food was delicious. Service was on point. I could tell the Chef really cares about what he's doing Yum.

I ordered delivery. Accepted and then being prepared. Then just caancelled. So be alert if you order food from this place.

Finally a really good Cajun down home restaurant on central. Such nice people. Try the sampler plate so you can decide what you want next time. Not much to look at inside and it's hard to find but once you do you will be glad you did. Next time I'm trying the shrimp and grits. Oh. Wednesday is wings day. They're pretty awesome too. read more

We know the owners from California and frequent their restaurant often. We were out here for a church convention and came by to eat and as usual..... the food never, ever disappoints. There are no words . . .WOW! As we poured over the menu, Chef came out and said, "you guys look adventurous, do you trust me." We immediately knew we were in the best hands-every dish he brought us was perfection. Even though their were only 4 of us - all six plates were left clean after making it around the table. We love good food and definitely felt the love in these passionately created dishes. EAT HERE! read more

Service was great. But it was hard for me to get passed all the oil in the jambalaya. You can see it in the pictures I added. Once I spooned out all the oil, it was decent. They were pretty generous with the shrimp, which were pretty good size. But don't think I would order it again. My next visit will be to try the Shrimp and Grits. read more

Had a repeat of the food I ate a couple weeks ago and it was just as good and it was something I would definitely go back for again

Super slow food service. Waiter was on top of it, but the food took 40+ min from time of order to come out.

Food and service were incredible. We ordered the country breakfast and the Debris and grits. Both were fresh and flavorful. I ordered online and picked my food up. They were hosting an event but still ensured my order was ready for me ahead of the time promised. We'll be back! read more

Blue Plate - Shrimp and Fries - Cajun/Creole Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

After hearing about this restaurant, my daughter took me there. I have been looking for good shrimp and grits since I left Ohio. Not everyone can make them. These were excellent! I will be back to try other items on the menu. My daughter had the Fish Box. What a disappointment. The menu says 2 pcs + 2 sides + cornbread. When her order was delivered, she only received 1 piece of catfish, red beans and rice and collard greens and cornbread. When I asked our waitress about the second piece of catfish, we were told that if the fillets are small, you get 2, but if they are large, you only get 1. I would like to know why that is not on the menu and why did I have to pay for 2 pieces? She still charged us for 2 pieces and 2 sides which was $21.00. I feel that an update should be done to the menu if this is how it is going forward. The only thig that will bring me back is the shrimp and grits. Please keep servers informed on changes that are made before they order. read more

I saw them on IG and just happen to be in the area and decided to give them a try! So I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. They were delicious!! They had a little kick to it but not too overpowering, for me at least and I really don't eat spicy food. Only thing I didn't like was, that the portion was kind of small. So I ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes too. Those were nice, fluffy and it had a tasty seasonal fruit compote! I Love that it's a Black Owned Establishment and I will be back again to get the Pancakes, again!! read more

This is a must frequent spot!! I'm usually here once a week, but have been missing in action for a few weeks. That being said, I'm about to pop in there today for lunch. I'm a creature of habit so shrimp and grits is definitely getting eaten today. Might go for a side of catfish, or see what my guy Chef Dev is whipping up on the fly. This is just an amazing place, owned by an amazing family, and are consistently pumping out amazing food. I've taken so many people to visit and it's a hit every single time. Also, be on the lookout for the last Monday of every month when they have Family Meal. Super cool industry event where a guest chef, guest dj, and guest bartender pull up and throw down!! read more

Well seasoned food (some overcooked) just don't expect top notch service. Parking can be a little confusing but you will be good if you park in the garage that's recommended on their site. There's a sign to help you see the restaurant as soon as you walk out of the garage. read more

Good food from good people. Full disclousre, I have known Chef Devan for about a year. We frequent the same cocktail bar and I see him at other spots around town. I had never had his food before last Halloween. Then I was at and event (the same event Victor H. mentioned in his review) and Devan offered me some of his chicken wings. I declined at first as I am not much of a wings person. I have tummy issues with spicy foods and I discovered this eating wings as a teenager. He insisted though and I am so glad he did. He brought his wings to another event a few months later and when I saw him bring in the container, I knew instantly what was inside and my eyes went wide, then I swooped in like a vulture. I was drinking next to Devan recently and was telling him that I needed more of his wings in my life. That's when he told me that he had opened a spot with his mom. I was at CC's for lunch two days later. I tried go back a few days after that, but my work had other plans. Definitely going again beginning of next week. I wasn't up for 40 wings on my own, if I had one complaint, it's that there isn't a half order option. Though I think next time I am just going to go for it and take the leftovers home, they are just too good. I got the burger instead and wasn't disappointed. Chef Devan took care of me though and brought me a small plate of wings. He also brought me samples of a few other things. Everything was so delicous. I am amazed I didn't slip into a happy food coma. It is a little tucked away, but completely worth finding. There is plenty of parking in the parking garage and CC's validates with no time limit. I live in Chandler and getting to Central and Thomas on a weekeday is not an easy thing for me, but I plan on being a regular at CC's. read more

I was very disappointed, will not recommend or return. The wait times are very long, waited a little over an hour for our food and it didn't even come out hot. Overpriced and taste was not good at all. The worst greens & Mac/cheese I have ever had. My partner also ordered a 4 piece chicken which only came with 3 pieces and they gave him ALL breast. I have never been to a place that's gives all breast or at the least ask if that's what you want. When we inquired about it they told us a breast counts as 1 1/2 chicken so that's why he was given 3. This was not mentioned on the menu at all and for the price it's actually quite insane. Overall all terrible experience. read more

Run, do not walk, to CC's on Central. THANK YOU to another fantastic entrepreneur for bringing more novel and unique food to the growing city of Phoenix. An even bigger thank you for opening up 5 mins away from me! The breakfast sandwich was out of this world. A contender for best breakfast in Phoenix. We can't wait to try the lunch food, but I'm willing to bet it will be amazing. When it's not too hot, sit outside in the cute courtyard that's just far enough off central not to be noisy! The staff & the owner were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Truly doing everything right to be successful here! Thanks to Jeremy from Axios for the discovery and the recommendation. We will be out of state for a few months, but expect us to be regulars when we return later this year! read more

I was so excited when I found this place. Since Baby Kays moved east, there hasn't been any place to gett the Cajun staples in central Phoenix. Restaurant was clean, looke nice. The lady that helped me was pleasant. Placed a takeout order of the jambalaya. Website ahows a bowl with a side of rice, and cornbread. Quite unfortunate when I get home to find no cornbread, a pretty small bowl of food, with the rice inside the the bowl leaving an even smaller amoun of jambalayat. For $20 (with shrimp), this wasn't a good value. Two stars as the food tasted good. The hastle of the parking garage, missing items, and small portions doesn't encourage a return visit, but I'll try them again, dining in to see if the experience is any different . read more

Lunch was ok. You need to understand the cuisine. It is Cajun, spicy on purpose. If that's not your thing don't go.

Yes, this place is close to my office. So far I tried the red beans and rice and I picked up a breakfast burrito and that was good too. parking is pretty tricky. You have to remember to park in the right garage and get your ticket punched and validated. I'll be back a bunch of times it's a cool place. I'm not sure if they have gumbo, but I will check next time. read more

The food was excellent. Customer service even better. Atmosphere was inviting. Can't wait to go back.

I love Cajun/creole food. I do a lot of cooking myself. I was in the downtown area and decided to stop in after hearing great reviews. The customer service was remarkable and the food arrived fast. I must add i did get my food to go. I ordered the red beans and rice and it came with corn bread. I can say it was ok. I would try something else next time. There is lots of turkey and sausage but it didn't do anything for my taste buds and I can't describe why. Ambiance was also great, lots of customers and plenty of space to sit! read more

This was a great lunch spot - loaded up on their etoufee and a 'dirty' roast beef po boy. food was great. counter service was fine and we didn't wait long for our orders. $50 for lunch for two seems steep - but then again so does everything these days.
