I placed my order yesterday, Monday, June 29, while I was in the area for lunch. They offer a great Monday through Friday lunch special from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For about $13, you can get an order of wings, fries, and a drink. I believe they also offer a similar lunch special with chicken tenders. If you're interested in trying one of their chicken sandwiches, you can order it with fries for about $13-$14. The only difference is that when you order the sandwich and fries separately, a drink is not included. With the lunch special, your beverage is included at no extra cost, or you can upgrade to one of their signature Kool-Aid flavors for an additional $1. For my lunch, I ordered the Midwest Barbecue Wings with fries and a Dr Pepper. Everything was made fresh to order, and the food was hot, flavorful, and very filling. If you'd like ranch with your meal, it's available for an additional $0.75. I also noticed they have different specials throughout the week, including wings, tacos, margaritas, and more, giving customers plenty of reasons to come back and try something new. Overall, the lunch special offers excellent value for the price, especially with the included drink, generous portions, and freshly prepared food. Our counter person/customer service was amazing. I think her name is Leia, Le Le, Layla???? Anyway, she needs to be a manager, hands down! She made sure our table was wiped down right away, took our order, was super nice and made sure to check on us often! What a great experience. Ordered from UberEats, the food arrrived hot and as ordere (all flats). I ordered the buffalo flavor with blue cheese crumbles on top. The wings were meaty and had ample sauce. The star of the show was the buffalo chicken egg roll. It was absolutely delicious with great flavor. read more

I stopped in after visiting the National postal forum as it was close to the Phoenix Convention Center. The clerk at the register was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. I had the buffalo egg roll thingy. It was stuffed and yummy! The wings were cooked perfectly and the sauce was good. I would return and try different flavors. read more

Was in town for my graduation and I was looking for a good wing spot and this spot was perfect. All the flavors we got were really good and the wings had the perfect crunch and meat. I have always been a huge fan of chicken regardless of how it's prepared, and I have memories of going out for wings with family and friends over the years. Today, I learned about Midwest Wings XL, and I even learned that I have friends who have been there and think the world of the wings. I even had a chance to taste some of the menu items while meeting the owner. I'm certainly excited to visit the restaurant and try a variety of wings and other items soon! I had a work meeting this morning, and Midwest Wings XL was catering! I had the pleasure to enjoy some chicken tenders, beignets, berries, and honey. The beignets reminded me of visits to New Orleans and Cafe Du Monde with its sweetened dough fried in oil until golden and puffy and covered with some powdered sugar. With the honey, it was sweet and tasty! The chicken was lightly breaded and tender as chicken tenders should be. While these were both delicious, I am really excited to try their wings which have sauces like Honey Garlic, Asian Zing, Golden BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, and Lemon Pepper. Yum!! In addition to trying some catered dishes, I also met Kiara, the owner and founder of Midwest Wings XL, which opened in August 2024. As someone who once lived in the Midwest myself, it's nice to have someone bring a taste of home, Midwestern-style comfort food including bone-in and boneless wings to Phoenix. This is a Black-owned restaurant, and according to my friends has become a warm, community-focused space in the area. Dont even waste your time with stadium food! This place has so much better food and at a reasonable price. These were some of the best wings that I have ever had! The ordering process was easy and convenient. I called in my order, and it was ready in the timeframe that they stated. I had the honey hot with lemon pepper and garlic parmesan topped with shredded on top. The seasoned fries were also delicious. They have a variety of wings and other menu items as well. The guys at the front were super friendly and helpful--they recommended some flavors we ended up really enjoying. We don't eat wings often, so we don't have much to compare them to, but we thought they were really tasty. Overall experience 4.8 Customer service - 5.0 Food - 4.6 In Phoenix to watching my daughter play in the National Collegiate Club volleyball tournament for the weekend. After a long day of competition her group wanted wings/chicken so Midwest Wings XL hit one of the girls radar, so off we go. Upon arriving the place was busy with to-go & pick-up orders as well as other diners. There was about a dozen in our group so each of us order at the register, once the cashier finish taking our order she organized tables for all of us to sit together. Food comes out quickly and HOT! My daughter and I order the 5 wing w/honey garlic lunch special (fries & drink included) + 6 tenders (with Asian Zing & Mango Habañero). Their fries and well seasoned and super crispy. The wings were crispy but a little dry but the Honey Hot flavor added some needed moisture. Their tenders are amazing with either sauce, the tenders are perfectly cooked and moist too! The Filipino in me said find some rice, so I go next door to get steamed rice from the Ricemill which just elevated my meal! We stopped by for dinner before our concert across the street. There is a decent amount of seating in the restaurant, and the menu is basic, which is good because you have to pick a flavor for your wings! Our food took a really long time to come out, and it wasn't busy. My sister and I shared the tenders and the fries, and everything was really good, I enjoyed the honey, hot flavor, but everything was extremely salty. While we were waiting for our food, us, and our two other friends could barely talk to each other because the music in the lobby was so incredibly loud! I feel like it was getting louder as the time went on. Are there two friends ordered additional alcohol, and it literally took 10 minutes for them to bring it over to the table. Ordered through door dash to have delivered to my hotel. Door Dash calls one of the flavors something slightly different on the app so I got a call from the store just to ensure I got what I wanted. Awesome customer service and truly made the difference because the flavor is the Buffalo with Blue Cheese crumbles. Those wings were so good. The blue cheese crumbles hit it just right. The spice on their buffalo sauce is perfect. If this was the only flavor they had, they'd still make money. Also got the lemon pepper dry rub. A very flavorful coating. Pretty unique to other lemon pepper rubs from other places. The cook of the wing was excellent. Slightly crunchy but not overdone. They also get points for presentation. Went here on Wednesday for $1 wings - love that we could mix and match sauces, there's a lot of options including dry rubs. The wings were large, crispy yet juicy inside. The fries were crispy and a good size portion. The staff were all friendly and the restaurant is clean. I did a pick up order at Midwest Wings XL recently and was super impressed. I was looking for wings that packed a punch when it came to flavor and didn't have excess fat. I ordered 6 wings with the Honey Garlic sauce and 6 wings with the Golden BBQ sauce. Both were phenomenal and generous with the sauce, but my favorite was the Golden BBQ by far. We visited this restaurant at a Mercury game. The place was very atmosphere welcoming and inviting. I ordered 5 garlic parmesan chicken wings. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). I read the fried chicken is popular so I ordered the 4 piece version with sides of rice and gravy along with some maque choux and a biscuit for $21. The food arrived about 15 minutes later on a big plate. The chicken pieces had a dark brown crust and were quite good tasting. Not too crusty and with hot and flavorful meat on the bone. The rice and light brown gravy were good and the maque choux looked different from the South Louisiana variety but I still enjoyed it. It had corn, tomatoes, onions and bell peppers in it. I'll bet few locals have ever heard of it! The tablevservice was good too. This was a lot of food and I didn't finish it all but it was all good tasting and very close to real southern style cooking. I would be happy to return.

Very filling btw, and some of the rolls taste similar to others, so no need to try to many roll at once. As for the seating, there were like 4 tables inside, so group of 5+ are most likely being seated outside in the patio, they do have misters and portable AC, but maybe it was where we sat, but definitely still hot.

Well decorated restaurant and loved the murals on the outside surrounding the building. Food was overall a 4/5 but the experience made up for it. I would come again and try other rolls. But sadly ate alone so just ordered one big roll. The rolls are big so you should get your moneys worth. Excellent spot for those who love fusion or want to try something new.

I was shocked to find out that Missy's has been open since Jan! This is a hidden gem on the south side! Missy's is on the corner of 16th and southern in the smaller street side plaza - the location is a walk up window (I knew immediately I was in for a treat) The lady and gentlemen that greeted me at the window were extremely nice and welcoming and let me know all about the menu. Not sure if they were the owners or not, but I appreciated the friendly service. The menu is robust with a late night weekend special menu (which includes oxtails til 2am) but I had a 1 track mind: CATFISH! The 3 pieces I got were large and automatically came with hush puppies (yum) and a side. The food was done is about 15 minutes but it didn't seem that long - the catfish was piping HOT! I was trying to eat it and cool it off at the same time, I made it all the way home and the food was still hot which I really appreciated. The catfish was crunchy/crispy on the outside and super flaky on the inside- perfect! Both my husband and 13 month old daughter wouldn't keep their hands out my platter! My husband liked Missy's catfish over the food truck that we used to always go to. I already started telling people about Missy's and we will definitely be back!
