I have been coming to Blaze Pizza in Monroeville since their opening in 2016 and I have updated my reviews for this establishment more than any other mainly because of inconsistencies and changes not on the good side. In the beginning, management's presence was more apparent and present. Staff walked around to check on customers, the place was kept tidy, staff smiled and engaged with the customer. Since opening, the changes have been: * Elimination of turkey meatballs * Elimination of roasted garlic, replaced by raw garlic that doesn't cook up the same * Much greasier pizza (i always get spicy red sauce with pesto drizzled on top) * Prices go up regularly starting at 7 something for build your own to 11.95 as of this post * They charge $1 extra for extra protein. Mind you i only get 1 option, a meatball, for my protein on a build your own. I selected 2 meatballs snd now get charged an extra $1 so my pizza is 12.95. How does this make sense? In other words, if i select one each of proteins offered, that is ok and no extra charge but select only 2 meatballs and I have to pay extra. Note they tried this once before and quickly rescinded this policy. * The cleanliness of the interior and exterior has been on the decline for ages. * In the beginning there were signs touting 90 second turnaround for pizzas cooking in the oven. That pretty much quickly disappeared. I used to love coming here for the price, offerings, taste, cleanliness, and friendly staff. That's all pretty much disappeared.

I remember when this location was a Long John Silver's. I was a bit bitter when it closed and sat empty for a while and then taken over with this. I didn't want to stop in here for a very long time. But with being out with family recently and they wanting pizza, we came here. I knew the concept of this place, basically Subway/Chipotle for pizza. I didn't know the menu at all, and it can be a bit intimidating when it is your first visit here. Lucky for us there were a few people in line in front of us and that allowed for us to look over the menu a bit more. When I got to the counter to order I was set to go. I wanted to start with the Cheesy Pesto Garlic Bread and for the main event I went with a pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The thing I like about this model is that it's not a computer screen where you are typing it in and adding/subtracting. Instead you can see them make it in front of you. Asking if you want this or that and the amount of any particular ingredient. Right before the pizza is ready and goes into the oven they will ask you if you want to add anything else. The only thing I could think was to add oregano. Here is where they have a little bit of a hiccup in the system. When you order, and if you order multiple things that go in the oven, they are usually written down together so that your order goes through the line. But when it is pulled out of the oven, it doesn't always mean that it is all together. Couple that with the person pulling out the pizzas isn't the loudest person calling your name. My cheesy bread came out first and I heard my name for that. However, when my pizza was ready I did not hear my name. I think it may have sat there for a good minute before they even thought to call my name. In the end, I got my pizza, so all was good. The freshest pizza I have had in a long time. I know it's a chain, but they are doing some impressive things. They have sprinkling agents for your choosing. I went with the grated parm, my dad went with the hot pepper flakes. Obviously it was way too much to order so I ended up taking more than half of it home with me. It wasn't bad the second time around either. A little gripe I have here is they are absolutely straw free. That's is all great, but if you are going to give cups with lids that have openings for drinking, maybe have them behind the counter instead of out for everyone to grab.

We like blaze!! Their cauli crust is tasty. They also have dairy free options. Make sure to use their BOGO received upon Yelp checkin! Such a deal.

I have no complaints about this Blaze Pizza location! We stopped in after a family party in Monroeville and were excited to see they were open. I haven't been over this way in a while, but remember this used to be a Long John Silvers. There were a few customers in line, but the employees were super efficient at keeping everyone moving. I love that you can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. I love the fresh mozzarella and ricotta! I added all of the veggies and arugula on top after they cook it. Everyone was nice and the pizza was great! I think it's about $11 total and was 2 meals for me.

Ive been to Blaze pizzas all over the country. This is the worst. Horrible customer service. They advertise a build your own pizza then charge you extra for the portions. The manager was the worst Ive ever seen in any business. She litterally counted the pepperoni on my build your own pizza then charge $3 for more then 8 pieces. Then made a huge seen and told me she would just throw my pizzas in the trash. Then started yelling at me. This was complete discrimination. Misleading customers then charging them for things not advertised. So can get a build your own pizza and get a portion of every single topping with no extra charge but if I get a build your own with pepperoni and sausage and want more pepperoni then they charge extra for getting more then 8 pieces of pepperoni. This is discrimination on pizza lovers all over the world. This location should not be representing the Blaze name. Worst experience ever.

The pizzas are good. They're made to order with the toppings of your choosing. It's one price, whether you want three toppings or ten. It doesn't matter if you want vegan, gluten free, or all meat, they can make it. They also have salads and desserts. The only reason I knocked it down a star was because it took forever to get waited on. We were just about to leave when someone finally came over. There was a guy at the pizza oven, a woman at the register, and another woman on the phone. The place was pretty dead, so other than the woman on the phone, the crew were just standing around, so not sure why no one could come and help us.

    Apology without a refund? Nothing?

Blaze has really gone down hill in the last couple of visits, but the real dealbreaker for me is how they handled my most recent visit (where I went home with no dinner). I still never got a refund. I ordered a BBQ Chicken Pizza with no blue cheese. I ordered online. When we come get our pizzas, there is no chicken on it. Ok, cool. We run back in and wait for another. The manager makes it so we are sure it's going to be ok. Once I get home, there's blue cheese on the pizza. I'm allergic. It's too late to go back. We try to call but they are closed. I submit a ticket online and all I get is a "sorry, we will let them know." Seriously? I had no dinner and I paid for it. Even a refund would have been nice. Not sure what kind of business does that. And I won't go there again. In a world with a zillion options, customer service matters. EDIT IN RESPONSE: Yes, you are apparently the one that sent this email, offering nothing but an apology... though I paid for the pizza and Blaze made it wrong twice. I mean, at this point, an offer for a "free pizza" isn't even free or a discount. I already paid for it and drove there for it, no?

This is a pizza place, but I was doing some Christmas shopping by my self so I just wanted something to go, and a sandwich was a better choice than pizza. This sub was just alright, mostly ham, the red onion was way too thick, the pepperoncini I had added and their Italian dressing made it somewhat better. Would I go out of my way to eat here? no. But if I am stuck in Monroeville it is a choice that isn't a national chain, and is a local business. Next time I would probably try their pizza, their vegetables on the sandwich were cut for that, not a sub. It was not a bad sub, I finished it, but there was not anything remarkable about it.

Today, I got the cheese calzone, fried dough, and cannolis. They were all delicious. Their calzones are only around $10 for a plain cheese. And, the portion is quite big too. It's not too doughy and their dough is flavorful and delicious. It looks like they top their calzones with a good bit of butter. It may look a bit soggy on the bottom, but the flavor is still excellent. Their sauce is lightly sweet and goes perfectly with the cheese. It's packed well and is the perfect amount of cheese for a calzone. Would have liked a bit more ricotta specifically and maybe a side dipping sauce, but still amazing! The desserts are pretty good too. Some of them are (as expected) not made in house, but others like the cinnamon rolls and fried dough are. When I ordered, I initially switched one of my desserts for the other. But, they just gave me the other dessert for free! Very considerate. The cannolis, although partially premade, were still quite tasty. Good amount of filling, great texture, adequate amount of chocolate chips inside, crispy outside, and nice chocolate cover. Their fried dough is also tasty and similar to a funnel cake. Would have maybe liked a sweet sauce (like caramel or chocolate) with the fried dough, but I had some leftover caramel to use so no issues there. All in all, a very good stop for pizza in Monroeville. It seems extremely underrated, and I was the only person to be in the store at the time (and my order was the only one for pick up at that time, which was Labor Day weekend). Being from the area, I cannot believe I have never heard of this place before. I put it on my short list of places to try, and one day when out in the Monroeville area, I was finally able to stop. The price includes any toppings you want to put on. They are open Thursday through Sunday from 4 until 7:30. Orders are placed over the phone, and then picked up through the side/basement door of a normal residential house. We placed an order for three pizzas, and they were to be ready for pickup in about 30 minutes. We got one Pepperoni, one Mushroom and Onion, and one with Sausage and Extra Cheese. When we arrived, there was another person picking up, but our pies were hot and ready. The ladies working were quick and kind. The pizzas are truly so good! The crust is not too thick or too thin, and the sauce is a sweeter one. All of the pies we got we liked, but the sausage was a true winner for us personally. One pizza could easily feed two or three people, and they are cut into 8 slices. I cannot wait to have this place again. The pizza was great, the ambiance and entire operation give off everything that classic Pittsburgh is about - no frills, but a great product. Plus, you cannot beat the value. Will definitely be back soon!

When he grabbed the box it was kinda wet on the bottom of box so we don't know if they set it on the counter on top of something ,but it was more than just extra sauce and onions that made the soggy like they assumed. We tried to recook it and when we took the pizza out of the box all the cardboard inside of the box was wet like something had been literally poured inside the box. I could barely get it out because it was so soggy it was falling apart. We live less than 5 minutes driving time so it was not from steam and cooking it more once we got home did not help it was that wet.. I have never seen pizza that soggy. I had my son call and they did not offer anything except advice on not to order onions or extra sauce when its humid out. We would have like a re-cooked pizza and to return the one we had especially since we had company. It was too wet to pick up a slice and inedible. So, if the owners see this maybe they'd like to somehow rectify it because now I have to start my grill to feed my company. Furthermore, if a customer orders extra sauce and onions on a pizza that.we are asking to be cooked well done an your only job is to cook pizza, you should advise the customer that it won't be crisp. We've ordered it that way before.. and as I said this was far beyond just soggy it was literally wet..and the 2 that ventured to eat it ,now have a stomach ache. It was most certainly undercooked and so wet it couldn't even be rebaked.

So much to say. Actually should be called garlic loaves. They are delicious, with no shortage of garlic, butter and parm. Delicious. Second the pizza was better than it looks and it looked delicious. The pizza is not shrinking like most places and they believe in toppings. We got: 1. EBUT large 2. Spinach and Tomato large 3. BBQ Chicken large 4. Pepperoni large We could have feed 18 people.
