My daughter wanted Cane's after her dance class. This location is about four minutes from where she dances, Amie's Dance Academy (ADA). Canes is always pretty decent. I came in around 6:00 on a Tuesday in July. There were a fair amount of people for the dinner crowd. There was a guy, I assume was the manager, was a really good leader. This gentleman took control of the floor. He was really positive with the staff and fun towards the customers. He was flipping cups, singing, and bringing a ton of positive energy. My daughter and I split the Caniac, which was decent for two people. Six decent sized chicken strips, fries, bread, two cane sauces, and a large drink. As I approached the restaurant, I noticed the building was immaculate and super fresh & new. I love that they have an outdoor eating space like the fast food restaurants from the 90's. Upon entering the space, everything was clean and new. There was some fun music bumping in the background. When I approached the cash register, there was no worker for a few minutes. There were plenty of workers in the back, including 3 for the drive thru alone and a few in the kitchen. It was disappointing how long I had to wait because there usually is little to no wait to order at a fast food restaurant. Once a worker did make her way to the front, it took another few minutes because she had to get a manager to help her input the order into the system. She initially went back to talk to the manager to tell him my name for the experience. Then, she had to go back to get the manager to help her input the order. The manager did not stop to say HI or acknowledge me at all. Once the order was placed, the food came out in less than a minute, which I was pleasantly surprised! Everything tasted delicious, and I was most surprised about the bread and Cane's sauce. Both were unique and different and made the meal even more special! The chicken was tender and hot. The sauce was peppery and different than any I have ever had. The fries weren't anythinf special but like your average fast food fries. My friend and I were super excited to try the much talked about chicken at Raising Cane's! It was really good! The crinkle fries were excellent and the slice of bread I got with my chicken finger meal was awesome! I also had their lemonade which was super refreshing. All that being said. It's really a perfect meal for two people. The food was good. The chicken breading was crisp, the meat juicy, everything else was also good. I just don't get the hype. Maybe it's because I don't eat sauces? Not sure. I was expecting to be blown into orbit with flavor and taste. Nope, didn't happen. Will I eat here again? Maybe. I don't normally rate fast food joints, but I visited Canes on their recent Elite Experience. Until Cane's, it was always Chik-Fil-A as the gold standard for me. I had chicken fingers at four different places preparing for this event, and the result is that my fried chicken standard has changed. It's now Cane's and Chik-Fil-A at the top and no one else close. Juicy strips of real chicken rather than pressed powder are worth them being a little pricier than most. The North Versailles location has outdoor seating which is a big plus for me. Newly opened location, so they had plenty of staff on hand to manage the dine-in counter, kitchen, and busy drive-thru lanes. Hopefully, they will maintain adequate staffing as time passes. My first thought after reviewing the menu board is that it's pricey. I ordered a sandwich, and it totaled to over 8.00, so it was a no-brainer to change it to a combo for 11 something. A family of 5 will easily spend close to 50.00 or more for a quick meal. My order came out fast and looked appealing. Truth be told, it wasn't love-at-first-bite. I honestly think it was too hot to eat and enjoy, so I ended up taking it to go. The second bite was much more enjoyable. I really believe letting it sit to rest was the way to go. The parking lot is very congested with people trying to exit the drive-thru lane as other vehicles are entering the lot. Hopefully, it's not an accident waiting to happen. I use the app to order ahead when available and the wait time is very accurate. The parking lot has plenty of space (even for busses) and the traffic light makes it super easy to get in and out of. The double lane drive thru keeps things moving or if you'd like to dine there is indoor and outdoor seating available. Our order has always been correct and well labeled. I'm happy to have a Cane's close to me. Today was opening day, and it was packed! The drive-thru line wrapped around the building twice, and the Goodwill Parking lot was filled with guests who were parking to go inside the restaurant. To beat the line, I ordered 30 minutes in advance through the mobile app for a 12:30pm pickup inside. I arrived 10 minutes early and decided to go inside to wait. As I went inside to pick up my food, I noticed they had a DJ outside playing some tunes and some ballon arches to decorate. Inside, I was greeted by a pleasant staff member, and she directed me to the mobile pickup area, just left of the cash registers. There were a good number of seats available inside, and the occupancy permit said the place could hold about 135 people. Most people were standing and waiting for to-go orders. The decor inside is nice, and they had ample staff to cover the crowd, plus a security officer available in case of emergency. The tag on my bag said my food was ready and packaged at 12:33pm and everything was in my hands by 12:35! Talk about a well-oiled machine, lol. My order was accurate and was hot and fresh. The only thing I did not like were the fries were a bit over salted and a few of them could have been cooked a little longer. The tenders were great, and the garlic toast was yummy. The staff at this location is so friendly. Even though the food is meant to be ordered and picked up at the counter, I had a few laughs with the staff which added to the overall vibe. They were the best part of my experience. I came there with one of my friends because we were curious. It should be known that I had a stint in the south so I'm familiar with Zaxybs, chick fil A, and Bojangles, and even other Raising Canes. In the past I didn't have the best experience with Canes chicken and unfortunately I have to say nothing has changed. I found the combo box to be basic, lacking in flavor, and the chicken left much to be desired--KFC could've done better. I would like to point out that I'm giving this place a two based on what I feel is an underwhelming main product (their chicken). However, I will concede that if you're not necessarily looking for quality but a quick meal that will satisfy your bodily need for calories then this place is a good, quick stop. Which is really long for fast food. The quality of the chicken though was quite good. We ordered the Canniac to share, and it was plenty of food for a light dinner for two. It came with six chicken fingers, crinkled fries, cold slaw and a slice of thick toast. Everything tasted good. The staff was friendly and the indoor dinning area was clean and stylish. Canes is nasty. The ONLY good thing they have is their Texas toast. And I don't understand why you need toast with chicken and fries anyhow. I always thought it was asinine that Dairy Queen did it and it is no less asinine with Canes. Their coleslaw is tasteless. I LOVE coleslaw, but this is in the top 2 worst ones I have EVER had. Their fries are flavorless. I don't know how they managed it, but but they are. Their chicken is extremely bland. Literally EVERY place that has chicken is better than this place. And that includes the Luxury Cinemas over there too. KFC, Popeyes, Wendy's, Chick Fil A, Dairy Queen, Sheetz, and Cohen are all VASTLY superior to that crap they serve at Canes. Their sauce isn't even good. Of course they never asked what kind I wanted and I didn't even see any on the board. I asked one guy about it when he stopped at the table. He said they also have ketchup (nope), hot sauce and honey mustard. If I had known I would have asked for honey mustard. But even that could NOT have possibly saved the meal. Even so honey mustards vary a lot as well, and I'm sure theirs would have been just as nasty as everything else they have there. Plus they have a very limited menu selection. 4 combos and a kids meal. No chick salad at all. And if you want to buy something stuff individually you can, but not the chicken unless you buy it one strip at a time. Why can't you buy a 3, 4, or 6 piece set of chicken. So it was either buy 4 individual pieces of chicken to try it all or get a drink too, and I hate teas and sodas at fast food places. All of that nasty high fructose corn syrup. Heck, I don't do sodas anymore at all with the rare exception of ones that still use raw cane sugar. I cannot fathom how they ever did well enough to ever open up more than one location. Everybody says "welcome to canes", there are people cleaning up all over the restaurant so it's all tidy inside. When employees pass you as you're sitting at your table they offer to refill your cup and ask if you need anything so they're super attentive and kind. Secondly, the food. Now I am not a huge meat eater, but this was delicious. The sauce is great, not spicy but similar to mayo and ketchup and a third mystery sauce. The bread is soft but crispy on the outside and flavorful. I liked the fries! Now the chicken was top tier. With the grand opening, the place once was packed with people. Bumper to bumper traffic in the drive thru. Which was one of the reasons why I never visited the place. A year later the hype has calmed so I decided to grab lunch there today. The service was great, special props particularly to the woman working at the first drive thru window (on 12-4-24 at noon), she was very pleasant and had remarkable customer service skills. I was expecting more for the first time trying Raising Cane's. I got the sandwich combo meal. The sandwich was good but I wish it came with more toppings. It only came with lettuce and mayo. Their special sauce wasn't anything crazy either. It needs more flavor. The crinkle fries were a nice change from traditional but didn't have enough salt and were just bland. To top it all off, when our cashier handed us our cups for fountain drinks, she grabbed the inside of the cup with her fingers. My son loves the chicken strips on the toast with fries, so we order often- probably every 2 weeks. I am so impressed truly with the service at this location. I do a mobile order and it is always ready on time when I arrive. We've ordered many times and there has never been anything wrong or missing - which honestly I find that is rare with pickup orders.
