I'm surprised that I haven't tried Nonni's yet, given I used to drive by this area all the time. An acquaintance of mine recommend I stop by and even said this was his favorite pizza. I was skeptical given the relatively low ratings, but glad I gave them a try. I ordered the cheese calzone (medium) and baklava. The calzone was fairly priced (not cheap though) for the portion. They serve it with some marinara sauce on the side and also some tomato sauce on the inside. It wasn't too soggy but it also didn't have much crunch. The dough was just okay. I got a few pieces of tomato skin inside the calzone, but that's not a big deal. The marinara sauce was subpar. I'm not sure if it is homemade. In any case, it was completely cold when we picked up the pizza. Seemed like they just took the sauce out of a jar from the fridge, not even bothering to reheat it. The cheese in the calzone was quite good, though. This ricotta was very creamy and almost spreadable; it's not chunky or milky like in other places. Good amount of mozzarella too. The baklava was cheap for the portion. It wasn't very well soaked or as sweet as I would have liked it to be. Again, not sure if it is homemade (honestly doubt it, and doubt that any of the desserts are homemade but I could be wrong). But again, it's fine for the price. All in all, Nonni's is an okay option for those pizza and Italian American food lovers in Blawnox. Some of the food is a bit subpar, but the prices are competitive and the food is quickly made. read more

I ordered delivery this was my first time tasting their food. I ordered the lunch special a half steak and cheese hoagie fries and a 20 oz Coke. The delivery was fast and the food was good BUT they need to put more meat on the hoagie lol I was eating pure bread then I asked for extra mayo and extra dressing I didn't get my request so it was dry the order came up to $22.15 I will order again but next time I will try the pizza read more

I read the reviews and saw several which always makes me weary but the reviews were EVERYTHING THEY SAID AND MORE. This could have been a smooth transaction but the owner was RUDE as hell. HAGGLED with me over the tip! He literally said to me "It's a long drive" WHAT? A. No it's not. B. If my area is too far, take it off the menu that you delivered to me. He even tried PUSHING ME to tip $5.00. In what world does the pizza place decide what I should tip? He was 1 second away from me hanging up on him. He was also PRESSURING me to put toppings on my pie! I ordered a side of marinara, the extra for that was enough. I told him I'd like to try it plain first. (If the pie is delicious plain, then we can go from there) Well It wasn't. For you: The pizza was greasy (but I'm from NYC I like that) But it was flavorless. The sauce was flavorless. It wasn't salty, it didn't taste like oregano it was flavorless and I may have well had asked for NO cheese BECAUSE I COULDN'T TASTE THE CHEESE. Huge surprise...sleeper hit. Never saw it coming. Honestly with the mixed reviews I had no expectation. I work locally on the weekends and wanted something 'different'. I have a couple go to places but I was kind of burnt out on them. I've been disappointed In the past when just picking a new place so I wasn't optimistic , but people in my building order from here daily so........HOLY........SH***Z. I really enjoy this pizza place . Our company is in RIDC Park right up the street from them, and we have to order different lunches for participants who take our training classes on certain weeks . If it's a pizza day, Nonni's is our go-to spot . We have never had anyone complain about the pizza and I personally enjoy it myself . Nonni's is the best takeout pizza in the area, the owner is very friendly and always makes my visits pleasant! Not only is the pizza great, but there are a lot of other hidden gems on the menu including the gyro and the desserts! I really love the cheesecake, it is some of the best I've had, always fresh and such a generous portion for the price. Future Drivers and Customers beware!!! Please also look at the other one star reviews that confirm my review here. So I was a driver there for about 2 months and for the first couple of weeks it wasn't so bad. It didn't take them long for both owners Husband and Wife team to start yelling at me constantly mostly the Husband who always closes. He was constantly yelling at me for like no reason at all he would always call me while on deliveries asking where i was at and most of his deliveries are 15 minute drives and most of the time i would have two going in two complete different directions and taking me 45 minutes just to get back to the store. I would tell him where i was at and be like I'm like 1 minute or 2 minutes from the store and he would hang up. That's no the terrible part. I would notice him smoking while making food constantly and I noticed numerous times him yelling at customers over the phone. it didn't take long before I had an issue with him and that would be over my pay being messed up. I would say hey your 15 dollars short for tonight on what you owe me and that's where it started he would yell at me saying his system is never wrong and I had a choice to make either take him at his word or stand up for myself and be like hey no your wrong because its very simple to keep track of how much you made. All you have to do is keep track of your cash tips only. He would give me 2 dollars per delivery and you had a copy of credit card tips and a copy of all deliveries you made so all you had to do was keep track of cash tips only and tally up how many deliveries you had that night and add up the credit card tips. Very simple do it twice every night just to make sure. Once i showed him he was very reluctant and handed me what i said he owed. This happened constantly. He would never be polite to me and just listened so we could make it right I was calm and polite at first but after being yelled at constantly like every single day i was there 5 times a day and constantly fighting about pay It was getting hard to stay there. He got sick and had to go into the hospital for a few weeks making them behind on my hourly pay for a month and i tried telling his wife they owed me hourly and they would be like system never wrong system never wrong and i was like hey you owe me hourly every 2 weeks on this day of the two week pay you never payed me. They argued and yelled at me relentlessly saying I was wrong and system never wrong. I proved them wrong every time and he would shitly apologize every time. Very shitty to me always. Eventually I couldn't take there rudeness anymore and they both tried to gaslight me and say I was the one with the shitty attitude and that's not the case. If they would of just had polite dialogue with me and tried working it out without constantly yelling at me and being rude as hell with me I would have loved to continue working there because the tips were good and I got plenty of Deliveries but the constant abuse towards me was ridiculous. I implore anyone reading this to look at the enormous one star reviews that confirms there rudeness not only to me but you the customers all the damn time. There not good people. sometimes they are but most of the time there very condescending and he the owner the closer who does all the cooking treats you like your 5 and stupid lol its just delivering pizzas. He's messed up a few times and tried to blame it on me. In fact with the other reviews stating how food was messed up and him responding how new cooks and staff there's no staff two drivers 3 actually because his dad drives for him in the morning and two closers who split days up there's only two cooks him and his wife there's no new cooks its him and his wife who mess up orders and him responding on here blaming imaginary people. Also about the missing hourly pay for a month he stated it was in the drawer the whole time I saw his wife remove the drawer a couple of times while missing my pay, that envelope with my name on it was never there. I placed an order via GrubHub and got a call shortly after the order went through; a man with a very thick Italian accent told me that I only get one topping on the item that I ordered though I paid for 3 toppings. He insisted that I only got one and only paid for one despite my having paid for 3.
