Supreme pizza, 12-inch
Sarah M.

I am updating my old review to 5 stars because I have been coming here consistently for over a year and have only had increasingly delicious experiences! We usually get a standard pepperoni or mushroom pizza, but on our last visit we ordered the Brooklyn Special and were in pizza heaven. Always ask for extra sauce and I promise you'll have the best pizza experiences here too! A 12-inch can feed two hungry people.

My go-to hoagie when I order from The Pizza Company, the Philly cheese steak with some fresh cut fries and cheese. I also love their Pizza.

The pizza is definitely good. The wings aren't crisp and they don't provide a dipping sauce for the wings.

The pizza was so delicious!!! Exceeded my expectations!! Kelsey was a great bartender and waitress! She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home without hovering. From the moment we walked in, I loved the ambience. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming and made us feel right at home. During our visit, I learned that it is a family owned restaurant, which made me appreciate it even more. They also have a sports bar right next door, which I thought was a nice addition. The food did not disappoint. I even had to ask if the family was from Italy because everything tasted so authentic. They told me they were not, but honestly I never would have guessed! The pizza was amazing. I am a huge fan of brick oven style pizza and this definitely hit the spot. The pasta was incredible, the steak was cooked exactly how I ordered it, and the wine paired perfectly with the meal. One of my good friends and I came here together, and I am so happy we decided to try it. It turned into one of those meals you keep thinking about long after you leave. Every time I am back in Pittsburgh, this will absolutely be one of the restaurants I make a point to visit. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

The prices are all extremely fair, portions are great, the food is fresh, and it just really hits the spot. I got to try the red bean stew meal with salad and brown rice, as well as the ferrini pudding for dessert. Everything was great. The red bean stew was heart and well seasoned. Nice amount of stew and beans. Great packaging too. The brown rice was well made, too, and a great side to this stew. They also included a lovely little side salad to go alongside this meal. It had a lot of cucumber, but also some lettuce and other items. I loved the slightly acid but chunky dressing. The ferrini was such a pleasant surprise. I've only had this once before at a different place and it was disappointing. Not here. This ferrini was creamy, flavorful, milky, smooth, and had the perfect balance of sweetness. Loved it, and a reasonable price too. All in all, I would definitely recommend this spot. The food is so fresh and tastes homemade. Try the bean stew and ferrini!

I'm not actually sure what audience they are targeting. The restaurant seems geared toward takeout,…read morebut they do have a small number of seats for dining in. They offer six different bases, which can each be served with white rice or brown rice. Each dish comes with a small side salad (with chatni/dressing), and a Persian style custard dessert (ferrini/ferni). The salad was well done and made for a nice accent. The ferrini was almost certainly something that some care had been put into getting right. It was well balanced, flavorful, and well portioned. The actual stew components seemed to be lacking, but that might be a result of our focus on the vegetarian options. We ordered the red beans and the vegetable medley, and both were reasonably well seasoned but lacking in any real character. The red beans stood on their own and worked reasonably well with a side of rice. The vegetable medley seemed like it started its life as a bag of frozen vegetables. Neither was bad, but they also weren't worth seeking out. Perhaps the meat-based options are much better crafted, and my experience is entirely a result of the particular items I ordered. Perhaps not. Either way, I would very much prefer to find a restaurant that is able to create vegetarian options that are just as well executed as their meat-based options.

We showed up for a Saturday lunch ahead of a snow storm, and the overall experience was good. The staff were friendly. There were clearly some number of regulars around. The space is a bit old and drafty, but that just adds a level of character. In terms of the food, we ordered a few salads and a half reuben (part of the lunch special), plus an Italian flatbread. Nothing was exceptional, but everything was nicely prepared and presented. The vegetables in the salad were fresh and crisp. The flatbread was good but not particularly noteworthy. My partner liked the rueben, but thought it could use a little more sauerkraut. The Guinness was fresh and nicely poured. All told, this was a good experience. Understand that this is more of a neighborhood hang than a destination, but it excels at filling that role.

When we got there, there was a group in there but we were told it would be a half hour wait. We decided to wait at the bar. It was a little difficult to flag down a bartender. We the played the giant connect four game but out of the two available, one was broken and would just hold the chips in place. After the group got out of the room, it took a while for the staff to clean the room but then we were able to use it. The room's technology wasn't great - when you were using the tablet to pick another song, the screen with the lyrics would sometimes freeze. Additionally, there were two mics but most of the time the one didn't work and the other one required that you stand in certain spots in the room. It was only $15 per hour to use the room but I'm not sure I would come back and use it.

We were visiting from California and were excited to eat here, so we had a few questions about the menu. The Black female employee who helped us was very short and rude when answering our questions, making us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply for asking. To make matters worse, the cups we were given were dirty. When we politely asked for the tab because we no longer felt comfortable staying, she responded by saying, "It's cool, you all can just leave." That level of customer service was shocking. Earlier, she had also rudely asked our group if we could move to another area of the restaurant because they had a large party coming in. We were happy to accommodate the request, but the way it was communicated came across as dismissive and disrespectful. I understand everyone has difficult days, and I always try to give people grace. Throughout the entire interaction, our group remained polite and respectful. We simply wanted to enjoy a good meal while visiting from out of town. I'm genuinely disappointed because we went out of our way to come here based on its reputation, only to leave feeling unwelcome. I hope management addresses both the cleanliness issues and the level of customer service, because no guest should be treated this way.

First and foremost I want to say that this review has nothing to do with the service or any of the staff. The woman running the front counter was extremely friendly and attentive, and made sure my food came fast. The unfortunate part is that one of my sandwiches was inedible. The Mr. orange was really tasty. Peri peri sauces are some of my favorite and I'm always chasing that high of a cheeky Nandos (iykyk) I do think the heat was a little more than I expected but there are options to customize to cut the heat. The problem was the coveted French onion soup burger. Holy sodium. Without even dipping into the side car of jus it was like eating a salt lick. I don't want to write stuntpig off because it could just be the case of bad, overly salted meat, but man am I disappointed.

It's got a nice location on the central road in Squirrel Hill, but it's a bit hard to find parking. When I got there, I got to try their shish tawouk (chicken kabob), mujadara, salad with feta, and iced mint tea. The tea was pretty alright. Refreshing and a nice mint flavor; I think they might make the blend in house. They also brought out some nice pita before we started the meal. For my main course, I ordered the shish tawouk. You usually get this meal with the rice pilaf, but they were out, so I got to try the mujadara. I'm actually quite glad! The chicken was tender, and the portion was very fair. They served it with a nice tomato sauce, but I also asked for some garlic sauce on the side. The sauces both seem to be homemade, and definitely go well with the chicken. The mujadara was surprisingly delicious. They top the dish with crispy sweet onions. It's a mix of lentils and some other grain. Very good! One thing to mention generally is this place closes quite early, usually around 8 or 8:30 PM, so do keep it in mind. It is also very clearly a family endeavor, with the mom managing most of the tables and the kids always helping out. Very nice place!
